Came to Mickey's Irish Pub in downtown Fullerton with a friend and had a really good time! We sat by the window, which was nice, although it started getting a little warm, so we eventually moved to a different spot. The overall ambiance was really chill and comfortable. We came earlier in the day when it wasn't too crowded, but as we stayed, the place definitely started filling up. It was nice seeing the atmosphere pick up as the day went on. We were mainly there for drinks, so we didn't try the food, but the menu looked really good and definitely gave me a reason to come back and try it next time. Service was great, too, which always makes a difference. Overall, a nice, relaxed spot to grab some drinks and hang out with a friend. We eventually walked over to Madera afterward -- my favorite spot in Fullerton, but shhh... don't tell anybody. read more

Have come to Mickey's a handful of times and am always pleased with the outcome. Not amazing, but consistently solid food, price, and service. Today's visit was a Sunday morning just after opening, which was very dead until just before 10am when the football games started (if you want to watch games, Mickey's has all the TVs playing all the games!). We came for corned beef hash and left super satisfied! The flavors were excellent, there was a great ratio of corned beef to eggs to house potatoes (which were extremely tasty). More peppers and onions would have been nice! Also got seasoned fries, which were fairly good. Coffee just okay, but not expecting fantastic coffee from Mickey's. My friends and I came here on a Friday night to watch some World Cup games, eat and drink. They had ample tv screens and we were able to get spots to sit right away which was great. I ordered a vegetarian burger (impossible patty) and some potato skins with chicken on the side (really good!). I had water which was quickly available at the bar and my friends had a couple beers each. The service was pretty friendly for a moderately busy crowd. My friend's chicken caesar wrap took a long time to come out of the kitchen but that was because they couldn't find us in the corner. My food, which seemed more complex, came out at a normal time! The bar forgot to make some shots we ordered but it was no problem taking them off the tab at the end of the night, if we really wanted the shots we probably could have reminded the staff but we were more focused on the game. One small piece of feedback was that there were 2 games going on an 5/6 screens were 1 of the games. We asked if the one near us could be changed to the other game and got conflicting information from two staff if they could do it. Not that big of a deal, we ended up just walking over to the other side of the bar during chances. We'll definitely be back to watch some more games!! read more

If you're going to enforce a "no outside drinks" policy, then it should be enforced consistently for everyone. My daughter, her dad, and I walked into the pub, and my 11-year-old daughter placed her iced coffee in front of her dad. A man who appeared to be the manager (I'm assuming because he wasn't waiting tables) walked over and rather rudely said, "No outside drinks in here." We had every intention of ordering drinks with our meal and saving the iced coffee for the ride home, but we respected what we were told and got rid of it. Our waitress and the waitress who was training were both very nice, and the food was good. Unfortunately, what happened afterward really bothered us. A man later walked in carrying a boba tea, sat at the bar counter, and no one said anything to him about his outside drink. Then a young woman walked in with what appeared to be a Venti Starbucks iced passion tea, also sat at the bar, and again, nothing was said. It's difficult not to question why the rule was enforced against the one Black man in our party but not against other customers who walked in with clearly visible outside drinks. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the inconsistent enforcement was noticeable and uncomfortable. If outside drinks aren't allowed, that's perfectly reasonable. Just apply the same rule to everyone. read more

Just looking for a chill place to get a quick bite and stumbled upon Mickey's. I'm always down for an Irish pub, but this one was really nice. They have an open air counter in the back so you can people watch. Also lots of wood everywhere, which I like. And TVs for watching all the sports. Our waitress was very attentive and brought our beers and waters out quickly. Food also didn't take that long. I had wings and my husband had a burger. We both had coleslaw as our side. I honestly think those were some of the best wings I've ever had. Just slathered in sauce the way I like it. The sauce was really good, too. All the food tasted great. We wanted to experience the OC RESTAURANT WEEK menu. This place was one of the places to dine. Our entree were the meatloaf and the braised short ribs. Both were flavorful. Appetizers: tater tots and the egg rolls. They ere both delicious. Desserts: Brownie with ice cream ( get it. It's good). Strawberry shortcake with whip cream and real strawberries. It was ok. Our waiter (Alex) was on point. He made us comfortable. The place was clean and welcoming. Parking can be difficult. It was my first time trying this place. I have passed by a few times on my way to the Fullerton loop, when I walked through the doors it felt like a cool place. Wow!! I have been coming here for a few years now and even twice on St Patrick's Day over the years. Today however was a Shity experience, got there around 12:20 or so for lunch and it wasn't too busy for aTuesday however there was only one employee for about 15-18 customers. She was very busy taking orders and making drinks for everyone in addition to leaving the Bar area to go to the kitchen so it took 5-7 minutes before she even came over to take my order. I ordered a Bowl of Irish Stew and a beer. The Stew is made way before Customers even get there for lunch so in theory it could take 1-minute to pour a Beer and maybe less than 5-minutes to scoop up a bowl of stew and bread. I started my stop watch shortly after placing my order and after 25-minutes I asked the bartender, "can you please check on my order" she came back a few minutes later and said that it's almost ready. I was extremely pissed as the other customer a few seats down from at the bar already had is Hamburger & Fries even though he came in about 5-minutes after I did. At that point I said I have to go now, without even having anything to eat for lunch. I got the bill minus the Irish Stew and for some reason I still gave her a $4 tip for the beer, in Hindsight I should "Not" have given any tip since she Never even checked on my food until I asked her too. I blame her a little for the Bad service but I also blame Management/Owner. I'm positive that mgmt is trying to save money in this economy however that's Not My Problem. Mickeys will lose lots of money because of very Slow/Poor Service, how many customers never ever come back for that reason?? Management's stupidity is going to cost them losing regular customers, see our time is Extremely important as most of us have jobs to get back to and other places to be so the crappy service is not only upsetting customers but also making them Late Too. We arrived a little before 2 PM, when happy hour starts, but she still gave us the happy hour menu and made sure to wait until 2 PM to put our order into the system so we received the happy hour pricing. The unofficial cal state Fullerton college bar. On the weekends expect to have a huge crowd of college aged people there. However it can also have a wide age range of people. Very social atmosphere. Mickey's is more for talking and socializing while enjoying a drink and looking at the downtown Fullerton nightlife through the windows and it's connected to High Horse which has the dancing and fun loud music where it can get buzzing with energy. I'd say it's what you'd expect from a college bar. The bartenders are very nice and do a good job. read more

First and foremost, shoutout to the service and security working last night for St Patty's day! The bartenders last night were phenomenal and so sweet! My girls and I wanted to go to an Irish bar to celebrate with a green beer. There was a $10 cover charge to enter the Irish bar and the saloon because they're connected. It wasn't overly packed but we still waited about 30 mins to go in. If you didn't know, the green beer is due to the dye, so you can get any beer of choice to be green. It wasn't overly packed last night and my girls and I had a fantastic time. Other people in the bar were pretty chill. This is my second time here for St Patrick's and I can't wait to go back next year for another green beer. read more

I've never been in the daylight and it's definitely a different experience. There are plenty of lots around the area so parking is good. We parked in a lot behind the restaurant and walked over. Venue: Its your typical irish pub. Tucked in and intimate. We picked a table and sat down. Servers were attentive and came over. Food: I ordered off the lunch menu. It was 3 courses for $25. It included meat pies and fish & chips with churro ice cream dessert. Portions were definitely shareable. For that price it's a steal. the meat pie was my favorite. Flavorful. Fish and chips were amazing. Delicious. Same with the dessert. For drinks I kept it simple. Just a Guinness. Honestly it was one of my favorite restaurants that I have ever been to. Service was great, food was great, and drinks were on point. They had great music playing. Its definitely some place I want to be back at real soon. read more

We'd been to other nearby restaurants over the years; however, only recently had discovered Mickey's; we've since been twice this month and already look forward to returning! Customer service (including by the friendly and helpful hostess) on our 2 visits (by both Sam and Donovan) was impressively friendly, attentive, and completely unrushed. During these 2 visits, we enjoyed their Tator Tots; in addition, my husband loved their Potato Bacon Cheddar Soup; their Caesar Salad (with Steak); and their Pub Steak. My Cedar Plank Salmon was a generous in size and delicious, and included 2 tasty sides (vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes). While I liked the soft ciabatta bun, their French Dip wasn't impressive to me; the meat was thickly sliced and well done, no pink visible, at all. The cocktails were great: Irish Old Fashioned, The Classic. We appreciated that their ice cubes were big and clear (we love those little details!)! Great comfortable atmosphere -- loved the airy indoor/outdoor feel with the windows open; attractive bar; fun seating options; and some tasty menu items. We'd tried coming here a few months back while we were in the area, but had found the joint super busy. I always took that as either a good sign the place served decent fare or a bad sign that it was overly trendy and possibly over-hyped. I'm glad to find the food was good, the ambiance was good, and the portion sizes were decent for the price. I wouldn't say it was the best bangers & mash I'd ever eaten, but it definitely wasn't the worst. I know that bangers aren't traditionally the most seasoned and spiced types of sausage, but I wish these had just had a little more kick to them. The potatoes were perfect though as was the buffalo wings we ordered as an appetizer. And the pieces they had for the wings were pretty damn big I have to say. All in all, I know I'll be coming back here and maybe make it a regular destination every few months. read more

Boy was that a mistake! Food was abysmal. Steak undercooked, asparagus overcooked and dripping in oil, brussel sprouts swimming in honey. And our server was a total goofball who took about 15 minutes to bring us our bill. Like the open air concept and could be fun as a sports bar but food is awful. read more
