Zero stars if I could! The service was terrible from the moment we sat down, and all of this happened within the FIRST HOUR. Water wasn't even consistently poured for everyone at the table. Drink orders were skipped even while orders were being taken from people sitting right next to each other. The first time, we literally had to go ask our server about a drink that had already been ordered. Then later, someone ordered the exact same drink as another person at our table--one came out and the other was completely forgotten. How many times does a table need to be overlooked before it's no longer considered a simple mistake? We shouldn't have to keep tracking down staff, asking where our drinks are, or reminding someone that our table exists. The whole experience felt careless, disorganized, and honestly just rude. So over this place. If basic service is this difficult within the first hour of being there, that says enough. read more

What a cool place! Chapter 4 is the extension of the Les Amis main restaurant so it's a small separate section divided by a small hallway. We couldn't see anything from the ch.4 section so it kept this side nice and intimate. It's a small place but when we arrived there was still plenty of seating inside. I love their decor with the dim lights. Even though this side is the speak easy experience you can order food which appreciated very much. We were mentally prepared to eat elsewhere if need be. The food is Lebanese and like any Mediterranean food, delicious! We had the chicken kabob entree and everything was really good! The only thing I was not a super fan of was their pita bread and how it came. It comes in a plastic bag inside a little bucket and it's a thin pita and I usually prefer the thicker pita, but that's just my personal preference. The drinks were really good too! We've had Chapter 4 on our list for a while. A very positive review from a Yelp friend bumped it to the top of the list, and we visited recently. It is located in downtown Fullerton, next to the Les Amis Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant. Look for the entrance on the west side of the building with a red entrance and Chapter 4 projection logo on the sidewalk. You can make a reservation on their website. We walked in and were greeted immediately. Seating options include tall chairs at the bar, low booths along the front wall across from the bar, and various tables in the main lounge area. All of the chairs look very comfortable. We sat in one of the booths across from the bar. It has a great vibe inside with a dark ceiling and walls, and is lit on the dimmer side. There was light lounge/soft jazz music playing when we visited. They also have live jazz music on some nights. A bowl of nuts, water, and menus arrived quickly. They have a great menu of house-curated cocktails, their spins on classic cocktails, and a large list of whiskeys and other spirits. They also have several food items on the menu. They have private liquor lockers available to store personal bottles for members Before I continue, I have to say that JC, one of the owners, who greeted us and was our server all evening, provided outstanding hospitality. While researching their bar menu online, we saw the cloud cocktail which had a very unique presentation with a burning ember cloud-like display. We came for my girlfriend's birthday, and she knew that would be her first drink. Unfortunately when we tried to order it, they were out of the gas for it. We noticed that the physical menu was a little different than the online menu. Apparently they had just changed the menu and had not updated the website yet. She wanted the Dirty Dill which wasn't on the new cocktail menu, but they were still able to make it. Dirty Dill (Gin, Vodka, Lemon, Pickle Juice, Olive Juice, Milk Washed & Clarified, $19). We could smell pickle on the nose, but when we took a sip, it was very boozy with little pickle or olive flavor. We asked if they could add some more pickle juice, and JC brought us a big shot glass of pickle juice so she could adjust it to her liking. She liked it once she added some more pickle juice. I started out with the Cococacaocoladaclara cocktail (Cacao-Infused Rum, Orange Liquor, Pineapple & Lime Juice, Coconut Milk Clarified, $18). This wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a hard time picking out the flavors. It was definitely strong and boozy. We were finishing our first round when we spotted JC walking towards our table with a cloud! He managed to find whatever it takes to make the effect, and we were very appreciative. I have seen a lot of presentations, and this was definitely a unique one. The birthday shot was very good, and he said the ingredients were mezcal, lavender, and lemon. Old Fashioneds have been growing on me lately. After the great presentation of the cloud, I had to try the Sinatra Old Fashioned (Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, one dash of chocolate Bitters, $40). It is served in a rotating crystal glass, lit from underneath, with a clear ice sphere. Again, the presentation was great, and it was the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. She had her eye on the Tuk Tuk for her second drink (Coconut Fat Washed Rum, Supasawa, Pandan Syrup, Mango Syrup, Rice Garnish, $18). She asked if it was very sweet, and he said that it was indeed quite sweet. Instead, she opted for the Firefox (Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Vanila, Rose Liquor, Cherry Bitters, $18). Once again, this cocktail had a great presentation. It's served in a short, wide glass that sits perfectly on top of a piece of petrified-looking wood. You hold the glass with both hands and sip it like a bowl of soup. It was very balanced and smooth, with a nice tartness and light sweetness. JC stopped by again to check on our second round. A few minutes later he surprised us again, and returned with shot sized versions of the Tuk Tuk to sample. It was definitely on the sweeter side with good coconut and pandan flavor. We probably would have tried a third round, but we had dinner and a drink before coming here. Their menu of house-curated cocktails is impressive, and features many uncommon ingredients. We had a good time, but JC went the extra mile for us all night long and made it a great time. We will definitely return again. read more

This speakeasy was such a hidden gem. The ambiance was cozy, moody, and incredibly romantic, making it the perfect spot for a night out. They had the space beautifully set up for Valentine's Day weekend, which was such a thoughtful and charming touch. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was the exceptional customer service. I believe we were helped by the owner, and he was beyond kind and accommodating; going above and beyond, even though we arrived after our reservation time during one of the busiest hours. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. Our server was also wonderful, attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout the night. Chapter 4 is a cocktail lounge located in Downtown Fullerton, connected to the Lebanese restaurant, Les Amis. There's a separate entrance on the side of the building. There are a lot of bars in the area, but Chapter 4 is a touch classier, offering craft cocktails in a smaller, intimate setting. Service is overall very nice. The servers check up on you often and are friendly. The ambiance is moody, and on a cold winter night, feels warm and inviting. For regular patrons, lockers are available to store your personal collection of spirits, so that you may enjoy your favorite brews in the atmosphere of Chapter 4. We visited right in time for their winter seasonal menu. The Candlelight Confession from this menu is delicious, and served with a torched marshmallow. From their signatures, I really enjoyed La Peligrosa, a tequila based cocktail that was floral and refreshing. My drink of choice recently, however, has been a Pornstar Martini. I asked the bartender if he could make one for me, and he just happened to have the ingredients necessary. So he did :) It was really good.  I enjoyed myself so much on my first visit that I invited more of my friends to come the following Friday. There were 7 of us total. It was a tight squeeze, but they were able to fit us all at a table. I'm very grateful to the staff for accommodating us, but I definitely would recommend visiting with a smaller party. There was live music that night with a trumpet player, livening up the air with jazz music. We had Pornstar Martinis again, which were amazing. I also dabbled in their whiskey cocktails as those are their specialty. The High Society was quite the showstopper, arriving at our table topped with a woolen cloud set ablaze. The way the embers danced was nothing short of magic. Removing the cloud revealed a wispy layer of smoke, which was both captivating and added depth to the drink. The rye whiskey was smooth and palatable, with a steady warmth as opposed to a harsh burn and flavored by cherry bitters. I don't usually drink darks, but this was very enjoyable. I also took the opportunity to sample the Démodé, Chapter 4's take on an Old Fashioned, garnished with an orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. Like the High Society, the whiskey was smooth and enjoyable to sip over time.  I love Chapter 4. The drinks are palatable and interesting. The staff is welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is classy, yet laid back and cozy. In a downtown district filled with sports bars and pubs (which can be fun), Chapter 4 is my calm eye of the storm, a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the night with well crafted drinks and conversation. read more

Tucked inside Les Amis, Chapter 4 has a more upscale lounge feel with a wide whiskey selection. Parking structures are nearby, so it's not hard to find a spot. The vibe inside is very dark, but in a moody, stylish way that fits the space. Our server was friendly and welcoming from the start. I ordered the espresso martini with whiskey--really well balanced, smooth, and not overly sweet. The best part was the presentation: served in a wide, stemless glass that was inserted into a piece of wood. Super unique and fun. I don't remember all the drinks my friends ordered, but everyone enjoyed theirs. They also bring out a complimentary snack mix that was surprisingly good. It is connected to their sister family restaurant by an archway and can be confusing when looking for bathroom. Inside this quite elegant and classy with low lighting. The are couches and regular table seating. I have done the bar and couch seating. I like the bar better. Easy to see their liquor collection and see the cocktail making in action. Went on a whim and so glad I did. Talk about a hidden gem! I'll get it out of the way and say the drinks are excellent. The bartenders know what they are doing and you can tell they genuinely love and take their time with their craft. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The ambiance is also really nice, it's very intimate and moody, definitely a great place for a date but very much can be for socializing with friends. I'm not sure if they have live music most nights but they had an amazing jazz singer. Just know since it's live music it can get loud but it's an enjoyable loud. The service was excellent too. I came here on a Wednesday night with my friend David. It was a vibe, the interior was so beautiful. It was empty when we came in around 10PM and they had light music playing, dimmed lights. Our waitress was so sweet, we loved her! I loved that she walked us through the menu and gave us recommendations. I tried the Midnight Flower cocktail and it was delicious. I also got a lemon drop martini which was perfect. They also give you a little salted snack bowl. It felt like a speakeasy and it was such a perfect date night spot. First off, this is in downtown Fullerton, so make sure you check if you need to pay for parking or not, because I made that mistake and got a ticket. Secondly, make sure you're not the driver to enjoy all the drinks this place has to offer. This charming little speakeasy is nestled right on the corner of a building, and trust me, you can't miss it! It's definitely on the smaller side, which gives it a cozy vibe--perfect for getting to know your date a little better. Don't worry if you prefer some fresh air; they have outside seating too! While reservations are highly recommended, you can still drop by without one. If you're a fan of whiskey, you're in for a treat! Their crafted whiskey drinks are absolutely worth trying, and the food is pretty great as well. The staff is super friendly, and I didn't have to wait long for my orders. Chapter 4 at Les Amis is classified as a speakeasy on Yelp, which I don't agree with at all because a speakeasy implies some secrecy when they had a huge sign saying Chapter 4 outside. They are a quaint upscale bar with lounge-like ambiance and a decent selection of craft cocktails and whiskeys. There is also an outdoor patio with additional seating. When we came it was really busy, so it was a good thing we had a reservation from Open Table. The staff checked if we had a nut allergies, and upon confirmation that we did not, the brought out a complimentary nut assortment. It was nice but nothing amazing. We also decided to order a Hummus ($12) to share for something to munch on. It come with large sheets of pita and house pickles. The hummus had a lot of tahini that was a bit strong for my friend. I thought it was average hummus but I didn't like the pita. For drinks I had the Flowers for Fiona ($16). I can't recall what my friend got. I feel like my drink more than she liked her drink. We had the capacity for more drinks but the other customers here were so loud and rowdy. Considering how small this space is, it was hard to have a conversation with my friend right across from me. Not taking this away from the bar cause they can't control their customers, but it's not my scene. Overall cool to check out but I wouldn't care to revisit. read more

The food and drinks at Chapter 4 Le Amis are undeniably good, creative cocktails, tasty bites, and an overall great atmosphere on the surface. It's the kind of place you'd want to support and recommend. However, my recent experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed for reasons beyond the menu. During my visit a couple weeks ago, I witnessed the woman who I believe is the owner (and who generally serves food) speaking to her employees in a way that was incredibly unprofessional and, frankly, disrespectful. It wasn't a one-off moment, it was enough to make not just me, but others at our table feel uneasy. I can only imagine how demoralizing it must be for the staff to work in an environment where they're spoken to like that in a way guests would notice. We often talk about supporting local businesses, but that support should go both ways. Especially toward the people who keep the place running. I can't continue to support a business that doesn't seem to value or respect its team. Good food isn't enough to overlook poor treatment of employees. It's not acceptable. I truly hope the management takes this feedback to heart, because the potential here is strong, but how a business treats its people behind the scenes matters just as much as what's served on the table. read more

I've had many good experiences here, but I sat for about 25 minutes waiting for a cocktail tonight because our cocktail waitress either forgot to run it or forgot to turn it in, almost certainly the first case since the ice was a bit melted. I say this as someone who bartended for many years. I know there's only a couple of possibilities of why this happened. Based on that, I figured it had to be sitting at the service bar, so I got up and walked over and saw it sitting there. I asked the bartender if it was my drink. He said yes. The cocktail was at the far end of the bar's inside talking to a customer and seemed oblivious. Bartenders sometimes need to let to pester the cocktail to get their drinks out, but they shouldn't have to. There's a chance too that the service bar was behind, but the only way that would happen would be if he was also doing the service bar for the main restaurant. They weren't busy enough for it to take that long. My money is on her as the drink had that "I've been sitting in the service bar too long look." Call it a sixth sense. The fact that she did not come by our table for 20 to 25 minutes is also a good indicator. I worked with a lot of cocktail waitresses in my years doing service bar, and I can tell you if I were doing the schedule I would observe to see if this is a problem or just a fluke. When you work at a place like this, you have to have a certain amount of mental investment in it. Based on a previous visit, along with this one, I'm not sure if she does. Cocktail waitresses and bartenders have to be very organized and very aware to do the timing and mental juggling of the job. I don't get that from her. I'm sure management can look at the schedule and see who was on duty tonight. I also have a feeling they're aware there's an issue. I want to emphasize that I love this place, and they make a great cocktail, but this was an issue. I want to be very clear and saying they were somewhat busy, but by no means were they in the weeds. Most of the other tables had drinks already, and the outside tables were unoccupied due to cool weather. A couple of tables came in, and the bartender was getting the drinks out effectively, but she seemed way to lackadaisical. I waited so long that I drank about half my drink, paid and left. I actually walked back in and told the bartender I thought the drink and been sitting there at least 10 minutes. He said it had not, but that he had talked to her about something being off with timing. I couldn't quite hear the rest of it. I guess there's a remote possibility it was on him, but I really don't think so. It seemed like she was making his job harder. The watered down nature of the drink also puts my bet on her not running it. It's not that it couldn't be on the bartender, because if you're in the business long enough you're going to have a missed a ticket or something off at some point, it's inevitable. I just don't think it was on him. It should not have happened. Manager, you might want to check into this and see if this particular cocktail is up to a Friday night, or just where the miscommunication was. I'm not doing this to be a jerk, but whenever there's an issue it's important that the establishment know so they don't lose business. read more

I actually stumbled upon Chapter 4 Whiskey lounge on accident. ( A week before the grand opening on Jan. 22nd) I'm glad I did. The type of speakeasy-ish vibe and a dope spot to just lounge around have a chill night in DTF. Place is cozy, with capacity for about 30-40 people , i would say at most. (But it is also attached to Les Amis). There is a great assortment of whisky's, bourbons and Scotches. And if you so choose, lockers can be secured to store your own personal liquor (purchased from Chapter 4 of course). Nonetheless, the bottle will be available whenever you choose to return. If you get a chance to meet Eduard, he was the bartender for the night and actually hooked us up with a smoked Old Fashion cocktail. Also, shout out to Brit (social media manager) he welcomed us with open arms. I highly recommend Chapter 4 Whiskey lounge. It will definitely be the new joint in DTF. read more
