Had to leave $0 tip because of astonishingly terrible service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was not busy at all, and my friends and I came to watch love island. They messed up the audio and video for 15+ minutes in the beginning with the audio so loud that it was hurting our ears, and consistently messed up the audio throughout so that it was completely unwatchable and ruined the season 8 debut for us and we had to leave early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Onto our order, waited over 30 minutes for 3 appetizers, and our 2 mocktail drinks never came despite us asking multiple servers multiple times. When we canceled our drinks, our server gave us a face and attitude. All servers were extremely unfriendly and never smiled at us once. They never checked in on us, were dismissive of complaints, took 3 asks just to even get some water. The fries on the menu said they'd come with house made green chile ketchup, nope just plain fries. They were good but nothing like described in the menu. The taquitos were okay. The Mac n cheese was pretty delicious and the saving grace of the entire experience. Overall, would never come here again. I'd rather watch love island on an iPhone 3 in a porta potty. Something seriously needs to change with management because you can not be THAT disorganized with 8 servers and only 5 tables of people.

Came here for Saturday brunch and had a good time mainly because of the service, drinks, and vibe. Shoutout to our waitresses Raquel and Lily -- absolutely amazing. Super friendly, attentive, and always checking on us. Top-tier service. The band was great, and the atmosphere was fun and lively. The drinks were a highlight -- we ordered the BeatBox fishbowls and they were delicious..... We skipped bottomless mimosas to try something different, but they do offer them for $30, which is a steal and worth recommending for brunch. Regarding the food, we decided to skip the breakfast items--such as the French toast, breakfast platter, and breakfast burrito--based on mixed reviews and ordered the burger and fries instead. Unfortunately, we found the meal to be quite bland. It would benefit significantly from additional seasoning, such as seasoned salt. Additionally, I recommend using romaine lettuce instead of shredded lettuce, as it provides better flavor and a more appealing presentation. I'd come back for drinks, music, and service, but the food needs improvement. Overall, a fair 3-star experience.

This place was fantastic. Came here for their Rhythm and Bingo night and it was honestly a blast. The service was amazing and the mac and cheese was delicious. The staff is honestly so friendly and this place overall is just a great vibe.

Had an amazing time at the Saturday Brunch with Soto, we got there early and were greeted by Robert and were quickly seated and ready to order our food and drinks by Cassidy, she rocked it with the customer service and Robert did it with his great customer service skills and made sure everyone was taken care of. Thanks for a great time and service!

We went to Chako's Social for my friend's birthday, and honestly, the vibe when we first walked in was the only good part of the night. The music was popping and people looked like they were having fun, so we thought we were in for a good time. We were wrong. The place was stuffy and uncomfortable, but we tried to ignore it. Then it took forever -- and I mean forever -- for our waitress to even come take our order. After that, it was another long wait just to get our drinks. It was so slow that I actually had to get up and go to the bar myself to order drinks. At the bar, the bartender makes our drinks, rings me up on the kiosk, and asks if I want to leave a tip. I hit NO because I tipped her cash. Simple, right? Apparently not. The next day I looked at my receipt and realized they added gratuity without my authorization. So not only did I leave a cash tip, but they also snuck in an automatic gratuity after asking me if I wanted to tip on the kiosk. Make it make sense. What kind of establishment double-charges tips like that?? Completely unacceptable and honestly shady. If you go here, check EVERY line of your receipt. And let's talk about the food... $35 for what they called a "buffet," but it was basically a sad plate of salad and cold French toast. That's not a buffet -- that's disrespectful. The food was just bad, period. The ONLY redeeming part of the night was the DJ, who actually knew what she was doing and kept the energy fun. But music alone isn't enough to make up for awful service, sneaky charges, and terrible food. Would I ever come back? Absolutely not. One of the most disappointing "birthday dinners" we've had in a long time.

Chakos is located in downtown Fullerton on the corner of Harbor. I recommend checking out their social media as they have quite a bit of special events and happy hour deals. I saw a promo for ladies Rnb brunch so made a reservation for my girlfriends and me. It was $10 per person for the reservation and easy to do on the website. We had reservations at 11:30am this past Sunday and the vibes were perfect. Aesthetically they had a cute sign photo opp at entry and the tvs had a pink rnb ladies brunch decal. It set the vibe. Our server was Mia and she was so attentive and sweet! We did bottomless mimosas($25) which they do a 90 minute time limit which makes sense and we decided to do the breakfast buffet which was $20 per person. Mia made sure to keep the bottomless flowing and the buffet was delicious. The dj's for ladies rnb brunch were fantastic. Dj p nasty was a whole vibe and I was singing the whole time. The dj after her got us on the dance floor and it was a good time for sure. I also ordered espresso martinis which were delicious here along with the nachos. This was a great time for brunch and will definitely be back sooner than later!

usually love coming to Chako's on Wednesdays -- the vibe is always great and I always have a good time! However, I decided to stop by on a Saturday around 1:15 AM just to check out the weekend crowd. I knew they closed at 2 AM, so I figured I'd have a few minutes to dance. To my surprise, they were charging $20 per person, which felt a bit steep given how close it was to closing. Still, I paid for myself and my friend ($40 total). But by 1:40 AM, the lights were already turned on and staff started kicking people out early. That was disappointing -- especially since we barely got 20 minutes inside and they didn't stay true to their 2 AM closing time. I've never had this issue on a Wednesday, but when I finally paid to come on a Saturday, the experience just didn't match the cost.

On February 15, 2026, one day after Valentine's Day, I attended Chakos nightclub accompanied by my mother and brother. While inside the establishment, I was suddenly struck on the side of my face by an unknown individual without warning or provocation. I did not see the attacker, as the assault occurred unexpectedly from outside my field of vision. The force of the impact caused me to fall to the ground in a state of confusion. Rather than checking on my condition, ensuring my safety, or attempting to identify or detain the individual responsible, a bouncer approached me and immediately instructed me to leave the premises. At no point did staff ask whether I was injured, request my statement, or attempt to locate the assailant. The actions of Chakos staff demonstrate a failure to provide reasonable security and care for patrons. Instead of responding appropriately to an assault occurring inside their venue, staff removed the victim while allowing the responsible individual to remain unidentified. Since the incident, I have attempted to obtain the establishment's insurance information to pursue proper claims related to the injuries and damages suffered. Chakos has failed to provide this information or take accountability. On April 22, 2026, I spoke with an employee named Carlos to follow up regarding the incident and insurance details. Carlos stated that he did not have internet access and suggested I speak with a manager but failed to provide any further direction or assistance. This interaction reflected the same pattern of negligence and lack of responsibility demonstrated on the night of the assault. Based on these events, I believe Chakos failed in its duty to maintain a safe environment for patrons and failed to properly respond after a violent incident occurred on its premises.

I thought I was walking in to Chako's to drop off a business card to possibly DJ there. The flashing lights zapped my eyes when I made the entrance; I only made it halfway (?) to the bar before Jacob (a consultant for and friend of the bar) pulled me aside for some decidedly light hearted conversation under the lasers and lights at Chako's. Jacob asked who I was etc., and then proceeded to discuss his cultural background, joke extensively about planing events, music, and self promotion. He flagged down Abraham, the lead bartender, during his jocular talk with me & ordered two whiskeys. I drank shot number 1. Jacob asked me countless riotously funny questions about DJing. For example: Do I have tons of ladies following me 24/7 because of all the dope beats I play, etc.? I said that DJing does not quite work like that, and he said then you need to play more bangers, party jams etc. (He laughed or smiled during 99% of the conversation--a total comedian.) He began explaining that he sells happiness & experiences, but before he could finish the thought he got distracted by a golden retriever a regular had in their booth. Jacob started bobbing and weaving in front of the golden retriever. The dog leapt into a full blown play fight with Jacob. Jumping at Jacob's chest and faux chomping his wrists whenever Jacob threw a jab at the dog. A miniature mock prize fight unfolded between hound and man as the party lights danced about them. A risible spectacle. Jacob stopped playing with the dog, returned to the bar, and ordered himself and me a second shot of whiskey. He swiftly downed his glass. I paused with mine for a moment, so he offered me a generous handful of orange slices from the bar. I ate the oranges and drank the shot. Before the conversation could resume, someone from the staff asked to speak with Jacob for 5 minutes. The team member and Jacob both walked to a more private section of Chako's. I shifted my attention to Abraham. Thanked him for the drinks. Abraham maintained an extremely stoic and professional demeanor. I shook hands with Suzy, a manager, on my way out. Then I made my way to the main exit. What a bar.

We attended the Saturday brunch to see the band Soto. It was our 1st time there. We arrived at 11am. Robert greeted us with a warm welcome and informed us someone will seat your shortly. Within 10- 15 mins, I believe the manager/owner seated us at a table. Cassidy was our waitress and was very attentive. Robert also kept checking in and see if we needed anything. I was impressed with customer service this place had to offer. And can't forget about Soto & Rosie Cortez were great. Drinks were great. We had good appetizers. We will be coming back. Thanks again to Robert & Cassidy

But now I don't live near fullerton so I thought I would check it out the next time I was close by. I finally got around to it on a weekend afternoon and immediately I loved the vibe. They do a great job placing you in a comfortable spot with the nostalgic furniture, the sports memorabilia, the local news article clippings. The bartender met me w a greeting as I walked in and quickly I found out he would be the host, waiter, bartender, and busser. I never had an empty glass of beer because he never allowed me to have one, the food came out piping hot, and it was easy to pay the check right away and all done by the same guy! So besides the nice vibe and great service they had some very good bbq and side dishes. The chicken and the pork ribs were solid choices. Both moist and tender and glazed with a really nice bbq sauce. I will definitely be here again when I am in the area again.

The first time, I came for the Monday night burger and beer special for $10.95 after 4pm. The burger was very good with a nice sized patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a wheat bun. The beer pour isn't just a glass, it's larger-sized schooner. Specialty beers on tap are an extra $2. The burger doesn't come with a side, but a tasty burger and a large beer for under $11 is a great deal. The following week, I came back for the Tuesday night BBQ special. Their BBQ chicken and ribs dinners are 30% off, and come with two sides and a fresh dinner roll. I got the full slab of ribs which was only $21 after discount. They definitely do not skimp on the ribs, as the plate came with two large half slabs stacked on top of each other. The ribs were cooked well, and the BBQ sauce had a good mix of tang and sweetness. I had coleslaw and fries for my sides. The other options for sides are Beckett's beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, and pasta salad. A half slab and the fries filled me up, and I took the other half and the coleslaw home. This is also a great deal for only $21. Other special days include Wednesday $3.50 schooner night from 5pm to 7pm, Friday night $10.95 fish taco plate, and Saturday and Sunday breakfast specials from 10am to noon. They have a pool table, darts, and many TVs with various sports playing. Service was timely and friendly.

There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant which is often full. We usually park in the free multi-story parking garage just east of Harbor and Wilshire. It is a short one block walk to High Horse from there. As the name suggests, the décor is very western themed with lots of wood, cowboy hats and boots, wagon wheels, lassos, saddles, taxidermy, etc. Seating options include booths, high top tables, and at the bar. They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm with food and drink specials. We started out with the pickle fries ($12) which were excellent. The pickle slice thickness to batter ratio was perfect, and they were served with a side of ranch. My first cocktail was The Smoking Gun (bacon washed Elijah Craig bourbon, maple syrup, angostura bitters, orange bitters, $18). It is smoked tableside and was a healthy pour. The bacon and maple flavor was very light, but it was very smooth. Her first cocktail was What Would Dolly Do? (Hornitos plata tequila, Los Sundays jalapeno tequila, Del Maguey peubla mezcal, simple syrup, lime, pineapple, grapefruit, $16). It was balanced with good jalapeno flavor and pineapple below with a light smokiness. For my entrée, I had the half slab of baby back rips ribs ($28) with coleslaw and fries. The plate arrived steaming hot and I was impressed with the portion of ribs. There were seven meaty ribs that were very flavorful and the BBQ sauce was good. The fries were crisp and seasoned, and the coleslaw was good too. She had the Up The Creek spice rubbed cedar-plank salmon ($26) with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The portion of salmon was good and it was flavorful. The asparagus was cooked well, but they were over salted. She also enjoyed the potatoes. My second cocktail was the Skinny Dipper (Tito's vodka, St. Germain, aloe vera water, watermelon, lime, $15). This drink was light and refreshing, with floral notes, and watermelon and lime standing out. It also had a great looking color. Her second cocktail was Ladies Love Outlaws (rose petal infused Ketel One vodka, St. Germain, simple syrup, grapefruit, lemon, rose wine, $16). This was also light with floral notes, and had good grapefruit flavor. It was very lively at 6:30pm on a Thursday evening. We left a little after 8pm, and the place was packed as they have line dancing. There was a big crowd of at least twenty people dancing in front of the restaurant and having a great time. The service was good, and our server was very friendly. The food and drinks were great, and I think they were a pretty good value for the price.

I had tried taking a photo booth picture with my friend and on our last photo a drunk man had fallen onto us ruining the photo completely by it picturing only a black curtain. I appreciated a security guard calling a manager over immediately, but we were not assisted properly. The manager had came over to us in a defensive manner. He approached us by asking what's going on. We explained the situation and were told he cannot do anything for us. I was wanting any form of compensation for wasting my money on a photo booth in their bar. He continued to tell us that he doesn't own this photo booth machine, so he can't do anything for us. Yet, he can have his bouncers allow a man, who is clearly blacked out, into their bar. Then proceed to let that man roam around the bar as if he didn't just fall onto us. I brought up this point to the manger and he told me I was disrespecting him. We did not receive any form compensation nor an apology. I don't care what type of setting we were in, a manager needs to have some sort of customer service skills. Very clear management did not care about our safety.

Let me tell you why I keep coming back here…read more It's not just the beer, although Bootleggers has plenty of that. It's the patio. There's something about the outdoor space here that makes Bootleggers feel like a little beer oasis tucked just far enough away from the hustle of downtown Fullerton. There are plenty of covered tables, lots of shade, and a large, permanently covered section with a giant TV showing sports and other important television events. When they have live music, it's usually the kind that actually improves the atmosphere rather than taking it over, you know, good musicians, good music, but still chill enough that you can have a conversation. And, of course, there's the beer. They have a really solid and diverse selection, with several IPAs, stouts, seltzers, and other options usually available, plus a selection of beers from other local breweries. It's hard to imagine coming here and not finding something you like. If you can't you're just an openly hostile person. Consider meditation. There's a food truck parked along the side that has basically become part of the Bootleggers landscape. And while outside food is no longer allowed, that's not really a hardship because the food is actually pretty damn good. The sandwiches, salads, and other offerings are all solid, but the fried pickles are the real reason I keep coming back. They're cut lengthwise, breaded just right, and fried until they're perfectly crunchy. Basically big, tart, crunchy submarines of fair food fun. I have a difficult time going to Bootleggers without ordering them. Every. Single. It's close enough to downtown Fullerton to walk to, but just far enough off the beaten path that the patio feels removed from the usual bar scene chaos. The street is nearby, but you barely notice it. It's just a nice place to sit outside, drink a good beer, listen to some music, watch a game, and hang out for a while. Sometimes you don't need another crowded bar with loud music and a $16 cocktail. Sometimes you just want a good beer, some shade, and a plate of ridiculously good fried pickles. Bootleggers does that really well.

Thank you Bootleggers! We hosted a couple's bridal shower…read morefor our son and his fiance a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely perfect! The on site staff and chef were fantastic, the food was incredible, and of course the drinks were delicious. It honestly was the perfect place to "shower" the happy couple with family and friends!

Came here to cheer for Team USA during the World Cup, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric…read more Every table was locked into the match, every big play got a reaction, and the entire place felt like one giant watch party. The massive screens made it easy to catch every moment, and the crowd brought the energy from kickoff to the final whistle. Even with a packed house, the staff stayed friendly and kept things moving. If you're looking for a sports bar that truly feels like a World Cup fan zone, this is the place. Great drinks, passionate fans, and an unforgettable game-day experience. USA! USA! USA!

Definitely one of the bigger bars in the area and I enjoy coming here. Never had any bad vibes…read moreexcept once when I saw some dude wearing a shirt with the Schutzstaffel insignia plastered on it, but pretty on-brand for Orange County so I'm not surprised. Anyway, LOTS of pool tables and a decent amount of TVs. They have a pretty extensive menu and all the things I've ordered so far have been good! The crunchy tacos are a great snack while drinking, but the salsa is severely lacking in flavor. The quality/freshness is there, but it needs flavor. The western burger is really good, but I sub the swiss for melted blue cheese instead. Bang on. Just as a heads up, it gets SUPER busy on the weekends and the parking lot is tiny, so be prepared. Like I mentioned earlier, I enjoy coming here. Friendly staff, fast service, good food & reasonable prices.
