Our visit for their New Year's Eve Event was far from choice. We ordered some grindage three different times that came out totally bogus, it was weaksauce. We had hoped from some epic eats and they were out of chicken on chicken quesadilla. Then our next order of fries was missing its sour cream, guac and pico...again they were out of these staples that you think they would check first with us to see if we still wanted them. For a New Years Eve event you would think you would want to be stocked up on the basics to not harsh people's vibes. The other big thing we swore was going to make our night hella cool was the live band. It ended up being a DJ all night long. I kid you not when we booked it, we swore the event was promoting a live band, two other groups mentioned it throughout the night so I don't think we were trippin. Bartenders were like a mixed bag and a bit spaz on how they approached getting orders out. They don't take Apple Pay FYI. At table there was this bogus set up of two QR code menus that don't match each other or what they really have to serve. Then when the food was messed up they had no way to refund it, they only check on half of the messed up food before making it The major drag of the evening was the last 90 mins before mid night. The DJ kept cutting off songs and had these lame transitions that would empty the dance floor time after time. My fellow dude and dudettes would be having a righteous dance experience and he would cut the song off or slide into a random pause and force everyone to stand there. There were some tubular people to watch on the dance floor to keep it going to get it to midnight. The had some free champagne and some small new years hats and such to help you celebrate. We had really hoped for a wicked experience and it came out totally basic.

Review 125/365 Day Challenge Very Long and awaited review for my local fav bar i go here for the good Dj vibes spinning the Best 80's/90's jam! When it 1st newly opened over a year ago. Got rebranded to this 80's bar night life bar. We love the vibe here because it brings us back to the days, feeling nostalgic kids growing up in the 80's! We LOVE the 80's cause I'm an 80's kid that's for sure. Only thing negative I'd say for this bar is a lot of us locals dislike the cover charge. It has went from $ 15 per person to $ 10 per person. I went this weekend with my cousin that's visiting from out of town (San Diego) got there right b4 midnight and they was still a cover charge. I get charging when it's a LIVE BAND performing which is at 10-11 p.m. but after that, there shouldn't be a cover charge at all. The decoration is pretty spot on with their 80's theme decked out. Neon lights, cassettes tapes. They serve finger/bar type of food which is decent. Wings, fries, nachos, tacos to name a few. They have these cool fish bowl mixed drinks they offer but it's pretty sweet and will mess you up. lol don't let the sweetness fool ya! The bar can get pretty packed along only 1/2 bar tenders working on each side. So getting service can be much slower on the past years visit. I came here with my cousin last month on a Saturday and they've closed at 1 a.m. not sure if the night was slow. But FYI we pulled up to the parking lot at there was no one in sight. Parking is bare. There's parking right out front of the bar & neighborhood streets. FYI BRING CASH for the ENTRANCE. CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM you can use to withdraw cash. FOLLOW their IG/ social media For future live bands that they'll be covering/Trubute. Special occasions. They do LIVE Karaoke on Sunday noghts

Such a fun bar with great decor and an awesome DJ!! We had a blast here for my SIL 50th birthday!! My biggest issue is the actual bar situation. The bar was severely understaffed causing very long wait times for drinks. I'm talking like 20-30 minutes. It was insane. Other than that the whole experience was excellent!

come early to get a table!

My sister came here on a (to her) random Sunday night--- turns out it was Karaoke Night with Mr Roboto (he is a major slay.) She had such a great time, I had to join her the next weekend and I too had an AMAZING time. we even showed up the next Friday for Queen Tribute night. Thank you to Chris, you always make our night special whether you're serving us or just checking on how we're doing! New favorite local spot! I had heard of the other 80s bars in Orange County but was super excited to find this one pretty nearby to my neighborhood. Everyone is super friendly and just there to vibe. Love it.

My husband & I have been to almost all of the 80s clubs owned by Dany Sanchez. This is our new favorite 80s club. Parking can be a challenge, but come early and snag a good table! Love the neighborhood, great crowd & wonderful service! We frequently see Danny at this bar. He's a really nice guy who will remember his frequent customers. Don't be shy to say HELLO to him! My favorite food to order is the carne asada quesadilla (Melt with you quesadilla). Don't know how they make it different, but it always hits the spot! I've stopped drinking, but when I did back then, my favorite drink was the Richard Blade Rum Runner. Obviously, their entire menu is 80s themed! DUH! Highly recommend you give this place a try if you like 80s music! Live cover bands & DJ are usually Fri & Sat nights. I believe Sun & Thurs are karaoke. Check their website for what's happening to be sure!

    Cant wait to go back!

I must say this place was a 10, clean & service was a 10 so attentive to our big group of 12 & Cindy & her other server who i wish i knew her name was amazing workers clearing table bringing water & our drinks. Live band was such a plus & yes the 80's was a hit. Thank you for a great night for my husbands 50th

Our friends from Orange County took us to this bar because we all love The Smiths. They had a Smiths tribute band called Maladjusted who was awesome! Great band and singer! The cover charge is $10.00 cash. There's an atm if you don't have cash for the entrance. Upon arrival there's a very cool display of 80s memorabilia next to entrance. And two dance floors and lots of tables. Bathrooms are clean and Staff is great! Keeping everything in order, if you have any questions they are helpful. Parking is either on the street or in the parking lot. There's a variety of themed cocktails , beer and food. We had the best time and danced the night away. I would definitely love to come back! We have to try the food next time.

    Cheers!

A nostalgic but modern club. Great sound system, clean bathrooms, lots of parking, great service, food menu available, large selection of bar drinks and wonderful patrons. They have some drink and food specials depending on what nights you go. I got the tasty chicken wings that came with crispy fresh carrots and celery. I actually enjoyed the veggies! I like that their 2 taco order comes with chips and 2 dips. (Salsa and creamy green sauce.) I noticed a lot of friendly patrons smiling, relaxing AND dancing up a storm. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes. A good place for singles, couples and groups. Bring your ID!

    Sandy B.

Yes! A place to dance and have fun! No cover charge on Thursday. Live bands on weekends. Great DJ who plays nothing but the best 80s music. Dance floors, stage, TVs, and a great bar for drinks and food. Limited parking. So fun, you just have to try it out.

Came here last minute for my homies bday and DJ Joe Vinyl did an amazing job with requests and the transitions were amazing. There were some moments where he started the transitions a little earlier than we would have liked, but he did amazing. Definitely worth the $10 cover. I definitely want to come back again

This is what it looks like when you order alot of drinks. The DJs sound better the drunker you get. The train wrecks the DJs do are bad.
    david b.

The scene is very cool. It is like traveling back into time. The food is 10/10 and the staff is very cool. The DJs are sloppy yet play some good tunes.

We had my husbands 50th bday at Placentia location last night. We had 45 guests and the food, drinks, & atmosphere were perfect. Everyone had a blast. Manager Vivian & her team were amazing!! Thank u 80's bar

After arriving to 46, we were able to sample 4 different specialty drinks and choose one of them. And seated at our table. If you're a party less than 4. You will be joined with another party. Initially, it may feel awkward however after the icebreaker. It works! They have a nice food menus. The dates and burger were delicious! Besides the speciality drinks they also have a full bar so I opted for a regular old fashioned and it was delish! Since the speakeasy can hold a max of 16 ppl, service was superb and attentive. Pricing was reasonable for what it is. Note: service charge (tip) is included. I wish they would have told me. It was dark and I didn't have my glasses. Also after 2 drinks.... I added another 20% on top of that. I didn't even notice until I got home. But what is done is done. Would I return? yes! We enjoyed it so much. We have already recommended so many people and they have gone and enjoyed it as well!!

When making reservations a $25 deposit is required per person but will be applied to your bill day of visit. The hostess was very kind upon check in and took us to the back where the 46 door is. She provided us a code and explained the time limit along with house rules. We were then told to knock on the door and proceed with the experience. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

It is located in downtown Fullerton, next to the Les Amis Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant. Look for the entrance on the west side of the building with a red entrance and Chapter 4 projection logo on the sidewalk. You can make a reservation on their website. We walked in and were greeted immediately. Seating options include tall chairs at the bar, low booths along the front wall across from the bar, and various tables in the main lounge area. All of the chairs look very comfortable. We sat in one of the booths across from the bar. It has a great vibe inside with a dark ceiling and walls, and is lit on the dimmer side. There was light lounge/soft jazz music playing when we visited. They also have live jazz music on some nights. A bowl of nuts, water, and menus arrived quickly. They have a great menu of house-curated cocktails, their spins on classic cocktails, and a large list of whiskeys and other spirits. They also have several food items on the menu. They have private liquor lockers available to store personal bottles for members Before I continue, I have to say that JC, one of the owners, who greeted us and was our server all evening, provided outstanding hospitality. While researching their bar menu online, we saw the cloud cocktail which had a very unique presentation with a burning ember cloud-like display. We came for my girlfriend's birthday, and she knew that would be her first drink. Unfortunately when we tried to order it, they were out of the gas for it. We noticed that the physical menu was a little different than the online menu. Apparently they had just changed the menu and had not updated the website yet. She wanted the Dirty Dill which wasn't on the new cocktail menu, but they were still able to make it. Dirty Dill (Gin, Vodka, Lemon, Pickle Juice, Olive Juice, Milk Washed & Clarified, $19). We could smell pickle on the nose, but when we took a sip, it was very boozy with little pickle or olive flavor. We asked if they could add some more pickle juice, and JC brought us a big shot glass of pickle juice so she could adjust it to her liking. She liked it once she added some more pickle juice. I started out with the Cococacaocoladaclara cocktail (Cacao-Infused Rum, Orange Liquor, Pineapple & Lime Juice, Coconut Milk Clarified, $18). This wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a hard time picking out the flavors. It was definitely strong and boozy. We were finishing our first round when we spotted JC walking towards our table with a cloud! He managed to find whatever it takes to make the effect, and we were very appreciative. I have seen a lot of presentations, and this was definitely a unique one. The birthday shot was very good, and he said the ingredients were mezcal, lavender, and lemon. Old Fashioneds have been growing on me lately. After the great presentation of the cloud, I had to try the Sinatra Old Fashioned (Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, one dash of chocolate Bitters, $40). It is served in a rotating crystal glass, lit from underneath, with a clear ice sphere. Again, the presentation was great, and it was the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. She had her eye on the Tuk Tuk for her second drink (Coconut Fat Washed Rum, Supasawa, Pandan Syrup, Mango Syrup, Rice Garnish, $18). She asked if it was very sweet, and he said that it was indeed quite sweet. Instead, she opted for the Firefox (Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Vanila, Rose Liquor, Cherry Bitters, $18). Once again, this cocktail had a great presentation. It's served in a short, wide glass that sits perfectly on top of a piece of petrified-looking wood. You hold the glass with both hands and sip it like a bowl of soup. It was very balanced and smooth, with a nice tartness and light sweetness. JC stopped by again to check on our second round. A few minutes later he surprised us again, and returned with shot sized versions of the Tuk Tuk to sample. It was definitely on the sweeter side with good coconut and pandan flavor. We probably would have tried a third round, but we had dinner and a drink before coming here. Their menu of house-curated cocktails is impressive, and features many uncommon ingredients. We had a good time, but JC went the extra mile for us all night long and made it a great time. We will definitely return again.

There are a lot of bars in the area, but Chapter 4 is a touch classier, offering craft cocktails in a smaller, intimate setting. Service is overall very nice. The servers check up on you often and are friendly. The ambiance is moody, and on a cold winter night, feels warm and inviting. For regular patrons, lockers are available to store your personal collection of spirits, so that you may enjoy your favorite brews in the atmosphere of Chapter 4. We visited right in time for their winter seasonal menu. The Candlelight Confession from this menu is delicious, and served with a torched marshmallow. From their signatures, I really enjoyed La Peligrosa, a tequila based cocktail that was floral and refreshing. My drink of choice recently, however, has been a Pornstar Martini. I asked the bartender if he could make one for me, and he just happened to have the ingredients necessary. So he did :) It was really good.  I enjoyed myself so much on my first visit that I invited more of my friends to come the following Friday. There were 7 of us total. It was a tight squeeze, but they were able to fit us all at a table. I'm very grateful to the staff for accommodating us, but I definitely would recommend visiting with a smaller party. There was live music that night with a trumpet player, livening up the air with jazz music. We had Pornstar Martinis again, which were amazing. I also dabbled in their whiskey cocktails as those are their specialty. The High Society was quite the showstopper, arriving at our table topped with a woolen cloud set ablaze. The way the embers danced was nothing short of magic. Removing the cloud revealed a wispy layer of smoke, which was both captivating and added depth to the drink. The rye whiskey was smooth and palatable, with a steady warmth as opposed to a harsh burn and flavored by cherry bitters. I don't usually drink darks, but this was very enjoyable. I also took the opportunity to sample the Démodé, Chapter 4's take on an Old Fashioned, garnished with an orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. Like the High Society, the whiskey was smooth and enjoyable to sip over time.  I love Chapter 4. The drinks are palatable and interesting. The staff is welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is classy, yet laid back and cozy. In a downtown district filled with sports bars and pubs (which can be fun), Chapter 4 is my calm eye of the storm, a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the night with well crafted drinks and conversation.

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.
