My boyfriend and I came in on a Friday night, so we expected a wait. The hostess took our name and told us it would be about 20 minutes, so we happily went outside to wait since the lobby is tiny and the staff looked like they were fighting for their lives. As we waited, I started noticing something interesting: two parties who came in after us were seated immediately. Then almost 30 minutes went by. At that point, I poked my head back in and said, "Hey, we put our name down about 30 minutes ago, and I've noticed people coming in and getting seats." Immediately, the hostess who originally helped us said, "Yes, yes... sorry about that. You can choose a table right now." So apparently our table had been available in the Witness Protection Program. To make matters worse, we were seated next to one of the parties that arrived after us, and we got to enjoy the thrilling experience of watching them receive their food before we even ordered. The food itself was good overall. The only miss for me was the mac and cheese, which tasted like KFC mac and cheese that had a passionate encounter with a jar of jalapeño juice. Would I come back? Maybe. The food was decent, but for a first visit, the service definitely left a stronger impression than the meal did. read more

Came to this location recently for lunch, because the Alhambra location is no longer open for lunch. This location is a little different, some of the menu & Happy Hour options vary, and it is much smaller inside, but they also have an outside patio to sit. The service was good, and quick. My daughter came for a specific sandwich that she loves, and said it was equally good at this location. I came for the chicken and waffles, I asked for tenders instead of bone-in chicken pieces, and unfortunately it was not as good as the Alhambra location. The battered coating is different and completely falling off of the tenders, the waffle was a little overcooked as well. The Alhambra location uses a panko crusted breading and it's so good and crunchy! I don't think I would return to this location. read more

What I got there was $25.38 and it wasn't even a full meal. Was it award winning in any way... No! The mac & cheese was mediocre at best. The mash potatoes tasted better but the amount you pay for is so laughable. Again it isn't even awarded winning sides. I came here to get something soft for my mom and in the past I did get mash potatoes and she enjoyed it but it was expensive for what she got but after getting this Mac & cheese and seeing what was paid for it has finally gotten me to write a review on it. wow, this place went downhill fast. As someone who has been coming here for YEARS the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. This used to be my favorite food place, but seeing how corporate greed has become the new norm, I will not be returning. Why try to fix something that isn't broken, they removed the tacos, the bowls, and they increased prices by nearly 20%! Absolutely outrageous. Not to mention the atmosphere of the restaurant has become so gloomy. Saturday I came with my family and the service was great, I noticed that as soon as this Hispanic man (I'm assuming it was the manager or boss idk lol??) walked in their moods immediately changed. I've been here plenty of times I usually order the Hawaiian style plate, which is not on the menu, but I also have tried the Cuban and garlic plates, which are very tasty too. The restaurant is always packed and a bit nosey so I usually order it to go. Sometimes the plates are more packed than other times, It's a hit or miss. The potato and chicken taquitos are really good too. I used to get the chicken posole but it's just not the same lately. It's very bland now. But the chicken is always good and food is always tasty. The 20 educators who were at the training got seconds and thirds they loved the food so much. I recently discovered The Chicken Koop, and I am addicted! I love getting their half roasted chicken with 2 sides, and it's been on my weekly rotation. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, and it's a decent portion for the price. I also like that they have a lot of sides to choose from, and I usually go for the Brussels sprouts and jalepeno Mac and cheese. The plate also comes with a fluffy naan! You can pick 2 sauces to go with it, and my favorite sauce is the green sauce. I tried the garlic chicken plate once, but I prefer the regular roasted chicken. I haven't been in yet, so I can't speak to the service or ambiance, but the food is delicious! read more

I have eaten here once and picked up lunch to go on a few occasions. This restaurant is very spacious and has plenty of inside and outside seating. Upon entry, you are immediately greeted and directed to a table or to the pick up area. Service is quick and friendly. They have lunch specials from Monday to Friday and weekly happy hour specials available Monday to Thursday. If you order take out, it's best to phone it in to avoid the online app surcharges. My go-to items have been the 1/2 roasted chicken plate with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. I like their habanero sauce and their green sauce. It's a great portion and I usually make 2 to 3 meals out of it. I also like the Frank's Caesar Wrap with the green sauce or Chipotle sauce. They also have other items on the menu that I want to try like their taco sampler plate, pozole, and the Cuban chicken. It's definitely a good place to stop by for a quick lunch. read more

We've been coming to the Koop for 7 years as loyal customers and never been disappointed once. The food has always been incredible and the service fantastic. All at once seemingly overnight everything changed. The Caesar salad I once loved changed to a terrible dressing, the chicken now tiny portions and an up charge. The side chick is now tiny and bland. The fried pickles so thin it was like eating paper. The once delicious garlic fries now with about 4 drops of garlic sauce. We thought the first time was a fluke and gave the benefit of the doubt. But tonight's dinner was awful. It's a massive disappointment for a once beloved dinner spot. We will not be back and that should say a lot to the new management as we have been here at least once a week for 7 years. I stumbled upon this charming eatery while searching for a cozy spot to meet my best friend for a bite to eat. I think I visited during the height of COVID, as the dining area was outdoors. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and promptly seated at a table for two. We started with drinks--a refreshing hibiscus margarita--and though I'm not quite sure what my friend ordered (see photo), it looked delicious! We shared a couple of appetizers: hummus and cauliflower. The cauliflower is an absolute must-try, but be sure to squeeze a little on top for the perfect touch. For my entrée, I chose the garlic chicken breast, accompanied by a chimichurri-like dressing (though it was a bit oily and lacking in flavor) and a side of white rice. My friend opted for the sliders, which she found to be delightful and satisfying. If I could suggest any changes, it would be to improve the chimichurri sauce and ensure that the plates are served with knives--ours were missing. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and our server was attentive at first while taking our order, though someone else took over later without any communication. Despite these minor hiccups, I'll definitely be coming back. The music and atmosphere received a solid 7/10! read more

The chicken is cooked really well and it's packed with flavor. They have a diverse menu with lots of variety. I got the chicken Sando and it was the perfect amount of spice! However, I feel like the portions that I see on social media are misleading. The sandwich is marketed as this huge portion when in reality it's about average sized if not smaller. As long as you come in expecting good food (not these crazy portions that we see online) you're gonna have a great time. I was really surprised by their drink menu. They have plenty of options and everything is really affordable. They have a happy hour special however we missed it. The drinks were still really cheap and well-made. If you're looking to have a few drinks before going out with your friends the chicken Koop is a good place to start off. The service here is great. All of the workers were really attentive and quick to clean up any messes. The waitress who served us was prompt and really kind. I came here last week with my in-laws for their son's birthday and they seem to be pretty happy with their food selection. This restaurant literally has anything you can order when it comes to chicken. At our table everyone had something different lol. When I meant anything, we literally had chicken tenders, chicken salad, popcorn chicken, chicken fingers, rotisserie chicken, chicken sandwich! First and foremost I love the small chill vibe playing bad bunny at a decent volume not loud or obnoxious just right . Came on a Sunday between 12-2. First timer so was really excited since it has really good reviews. Angela was our server. Ordered taquitos and hummus with veggies to start with and OMG!! DELICIOUS! For entrees chicken and waffles along with a fried chicken SW. The bun on that SW was to die for! It is a little pricey but very worth it! I cant wait to bring friends and family. Love their food and it's always consistent. Service is great and never had a bad experience. It's a family favorite. We love coming here but the place needs a facelift. Seats are torn, paint chipping, napkins are used as a wedge to keep the tables from being wobbly. I used the restroom for the first time and was pretty disappointed. I felt like I was using the restroom at a gas station. There was tagging everywhere including the baby changing table; I had to go to the car to change the baby. The high chairs are no better. The paint is chipping, they looked like they've never been cleaned, & broken at the base. A few upgrades could make a big difference and would be appreciated. I'm sure others would be too. I know most restaurants are doing this now, but I despise how payments are processed right at the table. I feel rushed leaving a tip and it makes it super uncomfortable while the server holds the machine. read more
