Had another great dinner at Chicken koop in Uptown Whittier. Come by if you're ever in the area -- it's excellent. It can be hit or miss sometimes, but when it's good, it's really good.

I've been here plenty of times I usually order the Hawaiian style plate, which is not on the menu, but I also have tried the Cuban and garlic plates, which are very tasty too. The restaurant is always packed and a bit nosey so I usually order it to go. Sometimes the plates are more packed than other times, It's a hit or miss. The potato and chicken taquitos are really good too. I used to get the chicken posole but it's just not the same lately. It's very bland now. But the chicken is always good and food is always tasty. Haven't had an issue with bad service here either.

Food looked amazing but sadly it wasn't. We arrived at 11:30 am and the chicken tasted dry and reheated. We asked for hot sauce and no hot sauce. We were given a habanero sauce, which was ok. The garlic fries tasted reheat and we got all the ends. Our server was super nice and had great customer service.

This is one of my all time favorite eating spots! Whenever my work has trainings, we always try to get Chicken Koop because their food is always delicious. The 20 educators who were at the training got seconds and thirds they loved the food so much. The one thing I had never tried but did this time were the plantains- they were perfectly cooked and made my mouth water. Please try Chicken Koop out, you won't be disappointed! The service is always fantastic and when I go to the restaurant it is nice and clean and welcoming.

Great spot for some chicken! We came for a late dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food. They have an outdoor area if you prefer that option. Service was great. My husband ordered a margarita. We ordered the tacos cooked in different flavors. We loved the dark meat chicken plate. The cucumber was refreshing. The habanero sauce was spicy and tasty. The pita bread was a perfect pair with the chicken. The chicken was flavorful and not dry at all. We'll come back and check out their happy hour and lunch menu!

One of my taco Tuesday hot spot. On Tuesdays, tacos are $2.50 and it takes 2 for me to get full. Don't forget it's happy hour right now. The poutine we got was $14. Service was great, festive music, and a laid back atmosphere.

The Chicken Koop The place where you can't just have one favorite because everything is so delicious & always fresh. I feel like the chicken is made to order. chicken wings 10/10 ,chicken quesadillas And oh my God don't get me started on their Michelada's they have one of the best Michelada mix I have ever tasted from what I hear It's homemade those ladies in the back know exactly what they're doing. I do have a favorite waitress here at this location. She's always so attentive making sure our order comes out fast and fresh. I love that when We wanna try something new She's always willing to give a sample first to ensure that we know and like what we are ordering! she's very great at what she does. Her name is Brianna and don't forget to request her on your next chicken koop visit!

5 stars hands down! The taquitos and brussels were our favorite dish of the night at Booktoberfest. The staff was very friendly too. I'd love to go actually go in and enjoy some food and drinks here. From what I could tell online, this place is exactly my vibe. It looks fun and lively.

I stumbled upon this charming eatery while searching for a cozy spot to meet my best friend for a bite to eat. I think I visited during the height of COVID, as the dining area was outdoors. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and promptly seated at a table for two. We started with drinks--a refreshing hibiscus margarita--and though I'm not quite sure what my friend ordered (see photo), it looked delicious! We shared a couple of appetizers: hummus and cauliflower. The cauliflower is an absolute must-try, but be sure to squeeze a little on top for the perfect touch. For my entrée, I chose the garlic chicken breast, accompanied by a chimichurri-like dressing (though it was a bit oily and lacking in flavor) and a side of white rice. My friend opted for the sliders, which she found to be delightful and satisfying. If I could suggest any changes, it would be to improve the chimichurri sauce and ensure that the plates are served with knives--ours were missing. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and our server was attentive at first while taking our order, though someone else took over later without any communication. Despite these minor hiccups, I'll definitely be coming back. The music and atmosphere received a solid 7/10!

1/4 White Meat Roasted Chicken, Brussels sprouts. Naan and garlic dipping sauce. YUMMY!!!

The vibe is great! Music was fun but not too loud. The food was amazing!!! I had the 1/4 white meat plate with brussels sprouts and it came with a lovely piece warm naan and a bomb garlic dipping sauce! Hubby had the taco sampler platter. We were both very satisfied. We even ordered dessert. A warm waffle with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzled on top. It was perfect to share.

I'd have to say that this is the second location I've visited (first one in Alhambra), and the food here was better than my husband and I remembered (understandably we ordered something different, but it was good today). The service was OK, took a few tries to get water but the margarita flights came out QUICK! Woo. The restaurant could use some more decoration/things to look at. Overall, easy to find, good food, decent service and if I'm back in Whittier, I'd give it another try!

Such a cool spot in the heart of DT Alhambra. Came to chill after a couple drinks at Havana Lounge and catch the football game. I remembered seeing this eatery featured on Tiktok and decided to try something from the their menu. I ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken meal with brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. It also came with 2 sides so I went with the garlic sauce and chimchurri. The roasted chicken was juicy and had a delicious rub/marinade. I love crispy brussel sprouts with a soft center. Mac and cheese was also good. I was a little disappointed by the dipping sauces. Both the Garlic sauce and chimchurri could have had a stronger garlic flavor. Portion size was good, the interior was well lit and vibey and the girl at the front who helped us was nice and checked in often to refill our waters.

It kept the sandwich tasting fresh. The sambal chili aioli was a sleeper - it packed in a ton of unexpected spice. Deliciously unexpected. The thick toasted brioche bun added a layer of sweetness. We ordered the turkey BLT because it was a special. It was, of course, delish, but I should have kept to the tried and trues. I'll definitely be back. Also PSA and order your sandwiches for pickup. We waited for quite a bit in the heat even though we visited at an off hour (but on a Sunday). Also, there's a nearby park closer to Uptown you can enjoy your sandwiches.

Keep in mind I ordered around 12:50pm and the sandwich was ready at 1:45pm. I ordered the Spicy Gabagool Sandwich, and there were barely any mixed greens as compared to other reviews & the menu photo (I love my veggies)! The meats were yummy, but they did not stand out to me/didn't taste anything special. Unfortunately, the same goes for the bread. However, I did like the packaging of the sandwich and everything in the sandwich tasted well together; the chile spread, burrata, hot honey, pickled onions, meats.. the spice level is definitely tolerable; I didn't need water at all. It was more of a small kick. I also tried their lemon crumb bar and it was very delicious! If anything I would come again to try more of their unique baked goods. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the shop. It is quite small and there are many people waiting for their order inside. There is only outdoor seating, which is scarce.

Do not be fooled by my photo LOL. It is indeed NOT FAT. They're very light on the sauces. The dutch bread is fireee asf and honestly the saving grace of this sandwich. Service: 5/10 The staff were pretty timid, but they were nice. They took LONG ASF to make three little sandwiches. Bro, 30+ minutes?? For some sandwiches??? This is coming from someone who's worked food service. They weren't even busy fam. They had like 2-3 dine-in customers that already had their sandwiches and like 2 online orders. Also, some of the tables were dirty. Had to clean ours with a napkin. Ambiance: 6/10 The interior design was pretty nice. It did feel quite empty inside. The arrangement of the tables is pretty sporadic. They could definitely convert the tables into booths with all the space they got, but it seems like they don't get a lot of foot traffic. Parking lot was quite small, but my friends and I had no issues finding a spot. TDLR: Sandwiches aren't worth the price. If you don't care about prices, have at it. I wouldn't come back here purely because our sandwiches took 30+ minutes to come out as dine-in customers. Parking lot is small but found no problem finding a spot.
