BOTH (we shared) were FIRE! I didn't think I was gonna leave the place stuffed but I did. The gentleman at the counter was nice and patient with us as we decided what to get. He explained to us and other guest what sandwiches had in each of them and his suggestion. My gf loved the place and the music selection. We will be returning soon. read more

This place did not disappoint, as soon as I walked in I was greeted and that's super important to me because honestly it just makes you feel welcomed. I went for the first time today around 1. There weren't nearly as many people as there have been during the lunch hour. The staff were friendly, answered all of my questions. They have a great menu, sandwiches (hot and cold), salads and sides. I ordered the pastrami with a pickle on the side. The pastrami only comes with mustard on it. This was by far one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly, the flavors were all there. The mustard they use is not too strong, it's a perfect pair. Was on a hunt for a good corned beef sandwich and came upon this shop on Yelp. It's located in the heart of downtown Whittier. Parking is horrendous and you might have to circle around a few times. I manage to find street parking a block away and just walked. Small shop and upon entry, behind the bar, there is a huge menu displayed on the wall. There was so many options and they have different sandwiches named after famous celebrities. Couldn't decide between the Danny Boy or a basic reuben sandwich. I ended up opting for the Danny Boy cause I kinda wanted slaw on the side. You can customize it however you like. The portion looks a lot bigger than expected but it's literally one sandwich cut in quads. The corned beef wasn't bad but I believe Jewish delis are so much better. The sandwich was really hard to eat due to the size and everything kept falling apart. Overall I would love to come back here and try their other sandwiches. Customer service was friendly and quick. The cook came from the back room who had been cleaning and jumped straight into slicing deli ham for my sandwich. No handwashing, no gloves, nothing.
