    They got micheladas yey

Giving it 2 stars as the food is good but the customer service has declined drastically. It is very sad as we have been coming to this restaurant since it opened may moons ago. Today was the second time we visited and were not even acknowledged when we arrived. The first time we waited for a little under 10 minutes without even a hello. We left! Today, i went back and asked for the wait time after having waited for 3 min without acknowledgment so I asked on the side and i got an ambiguous answer. When i asked for clarification ... nothing. I left. I am not sure that we will go back any time soon considering the myriad of alternatives around the area. Hopefully they can get different people in the front of the restaurant with at least a little more people skills. 2 stars as the food is good.

I was up in the LA area and had to stop by and share this gem with my sister. We ordered the ceviche sampler plate along with shrimp and potato taco and fried fish taco. The chipotle chile and ceviche crème sauce were so yummy and complimentary with the tacos. I don't think there's anything you can order wrong on this menu. Everything is delicious! Please open one in Huntington Beach!!! I would do taco Tuesday here all the time. It's a tiny place so get here early because there's limited seats.

Came back on 4/19 because we were already craving the shrimp tacos after our last visit and the food definitely still holds up. The honey spice shrimp tacos were just as good and we tried the ceviche for the first time which was pretty good too. Unfortunately the service this time was a completely different experience. We had to go inside to ask for refills, waited on pretty much everything and it honestly felt like we were more of an inconvenience than customers. The comment at the end "oh I see you don't need any boxes" was also unnecessary and just didn't land well. Food is solid, but the service this visit really missed the mark.

We enjoyed our time here, sat outside because the weather was nice, a little windy tho, but still nice. Food is 8/10, service 9/10, lady was nice and food came quick. We ordered the grilled Salmon, Seared Ahi and Fried Fish Wrap, oh and the Ceviche. Seared Ahi was the best IMO, salad that came with it was fresh and pita bread was also fresh and quite good! You can choose what sauce you like with the fish, I opted for Cajun, average.. I liked the Wasabi Sesame dressing on my salad tho, you get to choose which dressing you prefer too. Parking sucks though, not many spaces and the ground had many pot holes. Overall, we would prolly come back for the Seared Tuna. They charge extra if you use a card to pay btw...didn't realize it until after I already paid with a card, I wished the lady warned us about the extra charge on the card, I would've paid cash and saved $3.

This has become one of my regular cravings spot. I can't lie I'm hooked on the taco plate for $13.99 three tacos of your choice, chips and salsa. You have to try the potato and shrimp crunchy taco you be hooked too. Service is friendly and I love to sit in the patio it ha a garden setting. ** typo 2 tacos in the taco plate

I used to come here at least once a week when I used to work across the street. Visited this spot a few weeks ago and the food still hits. I got the aguachile tostada and a grilled combo wrap plate. The wrap had plenty of large shrimps and the fish batter was flavorful. Aguachile was nice and refreshing. The only gripe I have now is that they charge for sauces, I remember back then they gave sauces for free.

I love the Michelada here, the sauces (chipotle and cilantro are a must) and the shrimp taco plate. The patio is a nice place to enjoy a plate of seafood and drinks. Service is excellent and overall my favorite place to sit out alone or meet with friends and enjoy a meal.

I got their salmon fish taco. With avocado of course!

I let my hubby choose (yes I was nervous). He chose very quickly and I bit my tongue not to ask questions. We pulled up to a small restaurant with parking on the side. There was seating outside but we had a heat wave going. Inside the place while small was spotless and cheery. A series of Dodger bobble heads lined one cabinet (my people). A small bar offered beer on tap. The waitress quickly greeted us with menus and water. I got the salmon tacos with avocado. Hubby got tuna. Food was fresh, tasty and just what we craved. Turns out our friend in Whittier also knows the folks who run this restaurant. A family run spot. Definitely coming back!!

Really great food salmon wrap is amazing it give leftover love the dodder bobble heads 5 stars

One of may favorite spots in the area! The agua chile hits the spot! I wish it came with more shrimp for the cost to split equally enough with the two tostadas it came with for me and my partner to share. It had great citrus flavor and spice. The wraps were great size and are a favorite of mine!

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is, in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The new needs friends. Today I experienced something new. An extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. Off The Hook. As you walk in I got greeted by this gentleman. His name was Justin. Really professional and always had a smile on his face. He recommended the Fried Combo Wrap with avocado. It was devine. Sometimes you forget about a meal you once had and I must say this was one of them. As I took my first bite I was transported into the time when my mother was struggling trying to make ends meet and made me a home made wrap with the little ingredients she had. A tortilla, fried shrimp and Fish. The food tasted home made. That's all I have to say. My compliments to the chef. The establishment gives this great ambience. Sporty, professional, and clean. The service was not just service. It was the definition of hospitality. Big shoutout to Justin for not only recommending a great dish but also for the attention to detail. Thank you Not everyone can become a great artist but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now working at Off The Hook, which is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the best seafood place in Whittier. I will be returning to Off The Hook soon, hungry for more.

We had a quick bite after a nice, beautiful hike. This lovely restaurant in Uptown Whittier might be small but serves tasty, fresh seafood, and offers great service and ambience.

    Ceviche Sampler
    Diana

Came by since my family was craving seafood. We tried their ceviche sampler which was portioned very well! We also had their shrimp and tilapia off the grill plate. The shrimp and fish were dry but it did the job. Everything was paired well with a margarita! Note their margarita's are not made with liquor but wine instead! Service is pretty fast.

Are there any gluten free items here?

Yes, the ceviche and Mexican cocktails are gluten free as long as you don't have the tortillas or chips. I believe the salads are as well.

Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

Their front of house focus is the wine bar, but they also have a good cocktail and martini menu, as well as a nice selection of food items. The interior is warm and cozy with two different seating areas. The larger front area has bar seating, quite a few tables, and a lounge area in the back corner with several couches. There is another area in the back which is smaller, and houses their cocktail bar and a number of two seat high top tables. You can order anything on the menu from either area. We sat at the bar in front for some Sunday evening cocktails and small bites. We started out with the spinach & artichoke dip ($15). The dip came out very hot, was a big portion, and was very good. However, the menu said it came with toast points, but instead it was served with tortilla chips which were just ok. The advertised toast points or fresher tortilla chips would have made this appetizer better. My first cocktail was the Limoncello Martini (vodka, fresh Limoncello, lemon juice, $15). I usually love anything lemon and this was a good martini with light lemon flavor. She started with the Purple Martin Martini (vodka, raspberry puree, pineapple, $15). This was another good martini with light sweetness from the raspberry and pineapple, not a sugar bomb. We wanted a little more food, so we ordered the Caprese flatbread ($18). It was a good size, and the dough was great. It had a good amount of cheese and tomatoes, and I really liked the balsamic drizzle on top. However, it did not come with the basil that was listed on the menu. Next, I tried the Peperoncino Martini (vodka, Italian Peperoncino brine, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, $15). I loved this, one of the more unique martinis I've had. She liked her sip so much, she ordered her own for number three. Her second cocktail was the Carmel Apple Martini (carmel apple vodka, Licor 43, lemon, star anise, caramel cube garnish, $15). Most of the time, you would expect a caramel apple martini to be a sugar bomb, but not this one. The flavors were great with a light sweetness. And who doesn't like a caramel square treat? For my last one, I had the Cinnamon Sleigh (bourbon, cinnamon spice, maple, orange twist, $15). This was a good sipping finisher with light cinnamon notes and those great orange aromatics. KJ was our server, and she was very sweet and friendly. We came early in the evening and it was a little slow, so we chatting with her quite a bit. I'd take a half point off for the two food items not coming with the listed items, but rounded up to five stars overall. The bill had a 3% charge added for using a credit card. Food-wise, we ordered three appetizers. Two were good, but the crispy chicken and fries missed the mark for us. The staff did let us sample a couple of drinks, which was nice, and the mocktail I had was very good. Overall, I'd say it was an okay experience. Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but not somewhere we'd probably drive out to often. It may be a better fit if you live closer to Corona and want a relaxed lounge spot.

They have a Pickle Pizza (don't knock it 'til you try it) that is just out of this world! I honestly haven't had anything bad there. They also have a decent selection of beers to choose from, in case wine isn't your thing. There is both indoor and outdoor seating for whatever your preference is. The patio is well-covered, so if anyone is trying to stay out of the sun, they've thought of that. Kelly took care of my friend and I, as we decided to go to Claremont instead of braving the crowds at The Upland Lemon Festival this past Sunday. Kelly was an absolute ray of sunshine and took great care of us. We spent a good amount of the afternoon chilling on their patio sipping on Sangiovese, and snacking on the Corn & Tortilla Dip, as well as the Pork Belly appetizer. All were wonderful! NOTE: For the next month or two, their menu will be slightly limited, as they are renovating their kitchen. There's still PLENTY of great stuff to choose from and enjoy, though.

Omar the bartender is still as wonderful as Day One. I was finally able to figure out his last name. (It wasn't given out willingly and he made me guess after dropping a single hint). Will be on my way to collect my free bottle of wine for the month of June. Grafted Cellars is such a lovely place. I've met new friends as well as reunited with old ones. So glad I've found a place to be able to call "my hangout".
