We were a little surprised by the $10 cover charge. The event was supposed to have old school music, and while there was someone there playing music, it wasn't as lively or loud as we expected. The sound was more in the background. Food-wise, we ordered three appetizers. Two were good, but the crispy chicken and fries missed the mark for us. The staff did let us sample a couple of drinks, which was nice, and the mocktail I had was very good. Overall, I'd say it was an okay experience. Last night we visited Wine Down and had a really good time overall. Before even stepping inside, we were warmly greeted by two sweet ladies outside. There was a table at the entrance where you pay a $10 fee for the live DJ entertainment, and they provide a wristband once you pay. The venue itself is aesthetically appealing with a really nice ambiance. The DJ kept the energy going, and the wine selections were decent. We opted for a bottle of The Federalist -- a little pricey, but understandable. We also tried the jalapeño sausage pizza. I would've liked a bit more sauce, sausage, and jalapeños, but overall it was still cool. One of the highlights was dancing to the music and interacting with the other patrons, which made the atmosphere fun and welcoming. This is a great addition to corona . I have been in a wine mood lately and I was looking for a place where I could grab wine and relax . On a whim I decided to come to this place and I'm so glad I did . I ended up coming on a Thursday in whim they have a dj and they do a 10 dollar cover . You walk up to the host and they sit you down right away . I looked over the menu and they had a good selection of wine food and cocktails and beer . I decided on the Mango moscato and I got the bruschetta to go with it . Everything came out fairly quickly and the bruschetta was delicious. The fried ravioli wasn't that great or crispy and the sauce to go with it tasted odd . The mango moscato was delicious as well and I couldn't stop drinking it . I got the red flight and it paired perfectly with their margarita flatbread. The charcuterie was so good too, super high quality meats and cheeses. My group all loved their food. Great service as well! Appreciated the bartender and server taking the time to go over options. My husband also spent some time talking with the owner who was kind and very welcoming. She told us in about two weeks they will be incorporating cigar options and even more drink choices. Now let me get into the live music. SO good. So here we go ... Let me start off by saying I understand that this place just opened and is definitely going through some major growing pains. And with that being said ... Wine knowledge from the server ... zero. The food in this post took an hour to get. Yes ... a cheese plate took an hour to get! We asked our server for an update on when we could expect our food only to be ignored. Now ... there were two other ladies in the place ... kind of cleaning up ... not doing much else. Someone from outside had the same issue as us and came in to talk to one of these ladies who seemed to somewhat listen and somewhat care about the issue. Also, two guys behind the bar pouring glasses of wine seemed overkill too when there was so much to be done especially, obviously, in the kitchen area. Overview ... Checked out this place with a girlfriend after a long day of shopping. We loved the decor, very intimate and classy! We are big wine drinkers but felt their prices were a little high with the average glass being around $15. We decided to try their house wines for $9 but unfortunately they were sold out of their house wines, which probably says something about how people feel about the cost of their other wines. So we ended up ordering two of their $10 cocktails, the lemon drop and the classic cosmo and both were delicious. But we came to a wine bar for wine not cocktails. But the best part was the food. We ordered one of their flatbreads and the salami skewers and both dishes were SO good! I would come back again just for the food. The service was also excellent, however, sadly we were the one and only party in the whole place. I truly hope they make it! read more
