Seafood Ceviche
Rodrigo C.

Overall it was ok. I was expecting better. Atmosphere was a bit dead and boring. Food was ok only the pork belly taco was amazing. The ceviche was no different from any other campechana cocktail. Nothing popped for you to say, "I want this again" our server was cool, Talked to us about the place and the chef. At best 4 stars because prizes were reasonable

Our first time here and it's an amazing service. The waiter was super nice and professional. Love this place. Great food and drinks. The atmosphere is just beautiful. Definitely will be back again.

This was our first time at Lalo Urban Kitchen, and I have to say, the ambiance is really nice. The servers were very friendly, attentive, and helpful, and our food came out surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the food itself was a bit disappointing. We ordered the lollipop chicken, surf & turf taco, crispy pork belly taco, and chips & guacamole. We also had two drinks: the Pink Flame Margarita and a beer. Overall, the drinks were definitely the highlight of the meal. The lollipop chicken was probably the biggest disappointment. We took one bite and immediately knew it wasn't for us. It had a very strange flavor that we didn't enjoy, so we asked them to take it back. The crispy pork belly taco, on the other hand, was actually pretty good. No major complaints there. The surf & turf taco was just okay. The sauce was extremely overpowering and tangy, and I didn't feel like the flavors paired well together. The chips and guacamole were another disappointment. The portion of guacamole was decent, not enough for even a fraction of the chips. The chili oil was also way too heavy. I think it would have been much better with just a light drizzle instead of being drenched in it. The chips themselves also didn't taste particularly fresh. Overall, I think this restaurant has potential. The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly, and the drinks were enjoyable, but the food needs quite a bit of work. I don't think we'll be returning for the food, but I'd consider coming back for drinks and the ambiance.

Guac and chips... not a fan of chili oil on it

I really wanted to like Lalo Urban Kitchen because the ambiance is very nice. The decorations and lighting create a great atmosphere, and they also have outdoor seating. The restaurant looks bigger from the outside than it feels once you walk in. The service was actually great. Our server was attentive, and we never had to keep asking for drink refills. Unfortunately, the food, menu choices, and prices are the reasons for my 1 star review. At first, I didn't even realize this was supposed to be Asian fusion until I saw "bulgogi" on the menu. That confused me because I really didn't see much else on the menu that seemed Asian. At the same time, I was expecting more Mexican options, but there weren't even any burritos. The whole menu concept felt confusing to me, and there weren't many dishes that sounded appealing, especially considering the prices. We ordered the kids tacos, which were supposed to come with a drink, but we never received the included drink. Instead, we were charged $7 for a soda, which I thought was ridiculous. ( I didn't realise the extra charge till we got home). The kids tacos was super small, smaller than street tacos. The strawberry agua fresca was also disappointing. It tasted artificial and didn't taste like it was made with real strawberries. We also tried the pork belly in green mole. The flavor wasn't bad, but the pork belly was definitely overcooked and so tough that it actually hurt my tooth while chewing it. I ended up sharing a plate with my husband because nothing else on the menu really appealed to me, especially at those prices. Everything felt extremely overpriced for the quality and portion of food we received. Nice ambiance and great service, but unfortunately the food, confusing menu, drink charge, and high prices made this a very disappointing experience for us.

My husband and I went here tonight for dinner and we LOVED IT! We were a little hesitant at first because we saw the negative reviews on Yelp but we still wanted to give them a shot since they're just opening and figuring things out. We are both so happy we stopped by. We walked in on a Saturday at 5pm without a reservation and got seated right away. The service was great, the drinks were great and the food was delicious. We tried the Surf & Smoke Poppers, Shrimp Quesadilla Shots, Taco Meksiko, Surf & Turf Taco, and the Seafood-Stuffed Poblano. There wasn't a single thing we weren't happy with. We will definitely be returning with some friends! Excited to have a place like this in Corona.

This Restaurant is absolutely fabulous 10/10. For starters the environment is very welcoming very nice layout. The staff is friendly and well attentive. Our server Elizabeth was just lovely and gave some great recommendations which i will also recommend to all. The items Items i ordered: Morita Pork Belly appetizer- this plate was amazing the traditional deep fried chicharrón pork belly with its sauce combination was great. It did not need anything added. The seafood ceviche - was flavorful in its broth or caldo. Im so use to having to add a pinch of salt but this was perfect flavor through and through. Texture and taste of the octopus was great. My only complaint on this dish is the serving dish, its should come in a bowl rather than a jumbo schooner. Made it a bit challenging to eat in my opinion i asked for a bowl and our well attended host accommodated our request. Roasted corn and miso soup - Aaammmazing what a combination of flavors. Very well balanced and presentation was great. Garlic Gochujang fried edamame - if you like edamame you will enjoy this asian inspired dish and the spice level was just right. Main entre - Prime arracha Steak I order my steak medium rare and paired this with the roasted corn and asparagus. I did opt to add ginger garlic shrimp. The steak came with a chili oil (not spicy). The steak was well seasoned and cooked to the temperature i ordered. Service 10/10 Staff was polite and very attentive from the moment I walked up. Ambiance 10/10 - come experience it for yourself Food presentation 10/10 - Sorry my pictures were taken after digging into each plate. Food Overall taste 10/10 - I ordered a large variety because everything sounded good. Drinks 8/10 im giving this lower only because I enjoy drank beer and they did not offer smaller size. Only large schooners. I look forward to trying all other dishes and will review them soon.

As of 07/24 Lalo they are still in the works of having their grand opening. They are still under their soft opening and with that being said, they have a few kinks to work out. The servers are still learning and figuring things out. And that's why I knocked it down a Star. The service was still great. Abraham was our server and he was very attentive. He had a lot of great recommendations. Everything we had was very tasty. I love how the bar has two sides. One side is outside on the patio and the other side is on the inside. They have great outdoor seating. It's definitely a vibe. We had a party of 6 and we shared everything. The pork belly was soo good. Highly recommend. I will be coming back

Me and my wife went on a Saturday evening to try and it was amazing, great food and great service, drinks were great tasting and tacos were awesome and we had dessert!!!!!!! Atmosphere was fantastic Such a great night thank you

My family and I visited Lalo's Kitchen shortly before its official opening. There were only about three tables at the time and plenty of staff working, so I was surprised by how slow the service was. We ordered guacamole and chips, but the chips were stale, hard, cold, and served in a very small cup. I mentioned this to the waitress, but she simply said "okay" and did not offer to replace them. The guacamole also had a unique chili topping that was not spicy, but it was not something I would order again. We also ordered two margaritas. They were very strong, so one is definitely enough, but the flavor itself was fairly average. We had two children with us, and although my husband was holding our baby, the waitress never offered us a high chair. Overall, the service felt disorganized and inattentive. Because the appetizers were disappointing and everything was taking so long, we canceled the rest of our food order. I would recommend this place if you are only looking for a strong drink, but based on our experience, I would not recommend it for a full meal.

First of all the customer service was amazing. The staff were all so friendly and attentive along with being informative which is impressive because they haven't been open for long. The restaurant has a cute fun vibe for a date night or girls night out. Unfortunately the food and drinks weren't the greatest. We had the guava margarita which tasted just like guava juice. The tacos were dry, cold and not really tasty. However, the jalapeño poppers and tuna tartare were delicious. It is on the pricy end, which I wouldn't mind if either the portions were bigger OR if the food quality was better. I just need a justification for the pricing. Also, the menu is small. I'm hoping they add more items because there aren't much options for Vegans or vegetarians (those that don't eat seafood). I'll have to come back and give it another shot in a few months.

Hi Wow!! The food here is amazing Delicious flavors Well seasoned everything was soooo good! Atmosphere great Our waitress was friendly And we had a nice dinner with my husband

Over microwaved freezer burned chicken

Avoid at all costs, unless you enjoy microwaved food and lazy management. Server was solid, manager was nonexistent.

Tako Taco, Pork Belly in Green Mole 10/10. Mole comes with extra tortillas which helps carry the taco load as well as dip in the mole

I was recently here with the family and I got some beef ribs. Not sure why but they added barbecue sauce on it meat wasn't even tender for supposedly them having a smoker didn't even taste like it tasted like it was made in the oven and they probably just added some wood chips towards the end of the cook and if you wonder why I know this it's because I smoke on the weekends and well when I smoke, I start my fire using charcoal and the whole entire rest of the time I use wood splits, so I actually know what I'm talking about. In my personal opinion, you should never add barbecue sauce on beef, ribs, salt, pepper, maybe some paprika and that's it. pork ribs same salt, pepper and a side of barbecue sauce but never beef. The restaurant was practically empty, which already gave off an odd vibe. They had a stage with live music, but it felt unnecessary given the lack of atmosphere or crowd. The food selection was very limited and mostly steamed, which didn't help with flavor or texture. That said, the omelette bar and the chilaquiles were solid -- definitely the highlight of the meal. Everything else was pretty underwhelming for a $40 price tag. They offer bottomless mimosas, but here's the kicker: it's only for women. Men have to pay an extra $15. That gender pricing didn't sit right with me. On the plus side, the service was great. The servers were friendly and attentive throughout. But overall, the place gives off more of a nightclub vibe than a brunch spot. Also -- pro tip -- the final amount you pay can vary depending on whether you use cash or card, so be mindful. No food, per se, but when I asked I was directed to a crock pot on a shelf against a wall that had ground beef that was clotted and drying out. We will absolutely continue coming back, just unfortunately not as often as we used to. We were regular Thursday night customers because we absolutely loved Music Bingo. My husband, my two daughters, and I would come together as a family almost every Thursday. It became something we genuinely looked forward to each week. Thursdays used to be packed, sometimes so crowded that it was hard to find a seat. There was such a fun atmosphere, with different tables bantering with each other, laughing, competing, and getting into the music. We enjoyed it so much that we even brought prizes for the host to give away. It was more than just playing bingo; it was the whole experience and energy of the night. Unfortunately, since the new Music Bingo host took over, the experience has completely changed. We even tried talking to him about it, and he told us that as long as he is running Music Bingo, he will never use the app and will continue doing everything on paper. He uses the same card for the entire two-hour game, which means that even if you arrive late, you essentially have no chance of winning. That takes away a huge part of what made the game exciting and competitive. I do want to be fair and say that we know he also hosts trivia on Tuesdays, and we actually like his approach to trivia. His style seems to work well for that format. Unfortunately, that same approach just doesn't seem to vibe with Music Bingo. Music Bingo needs a different kind of energy, interaction, and flair, and sadly, that has been missing. The host has also been rude to us when we've tried to discuss our concerns, which has made the experience even less enjoyable. The difference in the Thursday night atmosphere is very noticeable. Thursdays used to be packed and full of energy, and now the place is often nearly empty. The fun atmosphere and camaraderie we used to look forward to are simply gone. We understand that he runs the game on his own and is entitled to run it how he wants. At the end of the day, though, the format and the overall vibe have changed enough that our family no longer wants to make Thursday nights a regular part of our week. That's especially disappointing because this was something all four of us genuinely enjoyed doing together. We are still giving The Brass Tap five stars because the restaurant itself, the food, and the rest of the staff have always been fantastic. We will definitely come back for those things. We just won't be coming back as often for Music Bingo. Hopefully, at some point, Music Bingo can become the fun, lively, interactive experience it used to be. We would love to have a reason to look forward to Thursday nights again.
