I very much enjoy coming to eat at ETC. The staff is very friendly and attentive and yesterday showed me why I enjoy this place so much. We were sitting at the bar yesterday evening and a rude customer had treated the female staff poorly and caused a scene, the general manager handled the aggressive customer with grace and respect. We come here often and we hate to see the staff be treated that way.. the restaurant was clearly very busy (as they can be during the summer rush) and the staff was doing their best and apologetic towards the guests until the husband got agitated and aggressive. The GM had kindly attempted to deescalate the situation but was met with disrespect. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been coming here on and off for the past two years since moving to the area, and every time I give the sushi another chance, it disappoints. This last visit (April 18) was the worst yet. The drinks are actually great, the bartenders know what they're doing. That's the only redeeming part of this place. Now the sushi... completely different story. It took an hour to get a lobster roll, and what showed up had little to no lobster. It was mostly shrimp, not even a mix, and to make it worse, there was visible shrimp vein (yes, the poop tract) still in it. Completely unacceptable, especially for something being sold as a lobster roll. (See photo.) It also took another hour to get just three types of sushi, and the yellowtail was cut poorly, chewy and full of muscle, not clean or fresh. At this point, this isn't a one-off experience, it's a pattern. I've given this place multiple chances, and the food quality and timing consistently miss the mark. If you want good sushi, skip this place. If you want solid cocktails, sit at the bar and leave it at that. read more

Stopped here after seeing this spot while visiting in the area. Although I do eat some sushi, I was feeling like some Thai flavor. I came here on a weekday (Tuesday). I could see before entering the business was pretty full. I was not starving so having to wait quite a while after being seated by the host wasn't bad. I found it to be bad service after being seen by the host and my server not stopping by (not a big place) to acknowledge the delayed service. I do have to give credit to my server that she did apologize for the long wait when she was ready to serve me. I arrived just before sundown and when I entered the only spot that look comfortable was the booth/chair table seating. I thought it was comfortable until I sat on the booth side and the table is just a tad higher than I thought it should be. I always find anything that I have to raise my elbows at chest level to put my silverware to my plate is just not comfortable and annoying. The corner I sat in had poor lighting so trying to review the menu was a challenge. I even took my glasses off to see if that was the reason. I looked up and there was no lighting above me nor on the table. The ambiance looking around the room is nice . The bar is eye catching with the pretty colors and shapes of the bottles that were displayed. A plus, is the many TV's around the room. Great for the sports enthusiast. The food was ok. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab and Thai Wings. I enjoyed the Soft Shell Crab, with its light, breaded crust. The wings were plentiful, meaty, but a bit overcooked/burnt edges of the pieces. Apparently it's a good place with people/families enjoying the food. So I hope to have the same experience the next time I visit. This business is part of the strip mall. My friend took me here last night for the first time and I was not disappointed! Food, service, and cleanliness was amazing! We sat at the bar and sadly I didn't get the bartender's name but it says Larry on the receipt ‍ His service was timely and friendly. I've been seeing this Thai-sushi fusion place all over Instagram, mainly because their cocktails kept popping up on my feed. And yes, before anyone judges me, I swear I'm not an alcoholic -- the drinks just looked that good. My husband and I went for one of our little dinner dates. The place is clean, simple, and we were seated right away since it wasn't too busy. Sushi-wise, everything we ordered was pretty standard. Nothing really stood out, but it wasn't bad either -- just... sushi. Now the drinks? That's where they got me. I tried the Nashi martini, the lychee martini (basically the Nashi but with lychee liquor), and of course my usual lemon drop. All three were solid. I was informed it was the owners and they bumped my reservation. Host issue * not food I've been going here since it opened. Love the food. Today I came in and the hostess was super rude because I have a service dog. He explained dogs aren't allowed and I'd have to leave. I explained to him he's a service dog and he said well idk I have to ask my manager he doesn't have a vest. He then informed me the wait was at least 35 minutes. I said okay, please ask your manager the dog is allowed here and please add me to the waitlist. A table cleared, I asked if it would still be 35 minutes since there is an option table and he said yeah it's going to be another 10-15 mins because we have to clean the table. I was like okay can we sit because it's cold outside and he said no sorry you can't. I've ate here a thousand times and never experienced someone so rude and I have sat many times at this restaurant while they were cleaning with no issue. A friend and I came just before opening at 12p and we were the first ones in. Staff was very friendly our server Quincy was great! She had awesome recommendations and was very attentive (she had us drinking old fashioned cocktails and shooting oysters at noon) Everything we ordered was delicious and very fresh I recommend the spicy garlic edamame, rainbow roll, salmon and yellowtail sashimi were super buttery. The place quickly filled up for lunch, the booth seating against the wall is very comfortable and there is plenty of seating to accommodate groups of any size. Disappointing and Unprofessional Service - My wife and I have been regular patrons of ETC Sushi for some time, but our experience on Friday evening was deeply disappointing and completely uncharacteristic of what anyone should expect from a neighborhood establishment. We arrived around 4:30 PM and sat directly at the bar. While the restaurant was busy, a kind couple moved over to make space for us. Unfortunately, after our initial drinks and an appetizer arrived, the service completely broke down. We sat at the bar counter for over 45 minutes with empty glasses, no water refills, and a missing food item. The staff did not have to walk across a dining room to check on us; they literally just had to look up, yet they actively avoided eye contact and ignored our presence for over 30 minutes. The situation became incredibly awkward when the friendly couple sitting next to us tried to help by telling the bartender we wanted to order the same roll they had. The bartender took the order from them to add to our bill, yet deliberately walked away without once glancing in our direction to confirm it with us. When I finally caught the attention of the other bartender to politely explain that we had been waiting a long time and felt ignored, the interaction was met with immediate defensiveness and sarcasm. Rather than offering a genuine apology for the oversight, the bartender--who identified herself as the general manager--completely mischaracterized my calm feedback as aggressive, claimed she felt threatened, and asked us to pay and leave. We did nothing wrong other than speak up after nearly an hour of being ignored, yet we were treated with a complete lack of basic dignity and professionalism. We paid our bill in full and left. It is incredibly disheartening to see a business we previously enjoyed treat loyal customers this way. Be aware that if there is a mistake with your service here, expressing your frustration politely may result in being asked to leave rather than having the issue resolved. read more

I highly recommend Etc! Had the pleasure of dinning in and they had packed house. Even with that we were still quickly seated. We ordered the ETC Edamame which was great not overly garlickly or too spicy. Fresh on Foothill is delicious whether you are watching your waistline or a true diabetic while trying to enjoy sushi without killing yourself iykyk! Seared Lemon Pepper Salmon this roll was excellent I enjoyed how the roll was not heavy in rice and the salmon so fresh. It was just enough tempura and I asked for light sauce. We ordered one more role I think Living Colors. He ate the whole thing without sharing the sushi all looked so fresh. Usually big groups like the dinner party of 9 we had are tough to get everything right but our server Taylor got it spot on from the beginning. He was very attentive and gave plenty of recommendations for the whole table. I'm half Thai so naturally I had to try a few of their bites and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. For the taste, I was shocked at how good everything was. So much food at the table I couldn't get all the pics but the highlights were the Thai sausage, the lamb, and the crunchy fried chicken. Sushi was quite good but the table was leaning more towards rolls which I don't really do cause all the sauces hiding the quality of the fish. I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

This place is the worst service I have had in my life. The server took my order, the drinks, appetizer and my daughter's food came out. 45 minutes later, I asked were was my order which was one roll. I asked him for an appetizer well I wait. He replied, will you be ordering anything else our kitchen is gonna close. I thought "are you kidding me" he has to be joking I've waited 45 minutes before I asked for my food. The server had passed many times by my table, even asked if I wanted a refill and never followed up on my order status. The host walk by and I asked him to check on my food or tell my server because this was ridiculous. This should never happen. When the server brought my roll to the table no apology, no excuse. Yet the customers sitting at the bar were receiving their orders. I think the server never put in my order. Sad this WAS my favorite sushi place. read more

Don't get me wrong--the food here is always high-quality and delicious. We usually visit on Sunday evenings when it's busy, and we've never had an issue with the service. However, this time, I went for lunch on a Tuesday when it was much quieter, and the experience wasn't as great. The hostess was direct but not particularly friendly, which made me wonder if the less busy shifts are staffed with employees in training. To make matters worse, I had no idea there was a Happy Hour menu available in the afternoon. It would have been nice for the server to mention it, but instead, I only found out by chance. When I did, I let the server know I wanted a Happy Hour item. However, when the bill arrived, I noticed I was charged the regular price. As a former server myself, I would have at least apologized and offered a small gesture, like a complimentary dessert, to make up for the mistake. Instead, the server consulted with the manager, who decided that since my order was placed just minutes before Happy Hour officially started, I wouldn't receive the discounted price. This experience left a bad impression and makes me hesitant to return for lunch in the future. Also, keep in mind, the food here is not cheap or is it inflation!? For example, some rolls and bento boxes are $20. Therefore, I would hope this review will let management know to better train their lunch staff. read more

We came a while ago but I'm finally getting around to write the review. We came on the Friday before Father's Day weekend and it was PACKED. Talking to the host, it seems normally there isn't that much of a wait but regulars were dining for 2-3 hours before leaving. We ended up having to wait 45-50 minutes for our party of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). The place is pretty small, even with bar seating there just aren't that many tables. However, we appreciated the two hosts in the front working really hard to get people seated in a timely manner. They were keeping us posted and overall, just really friendly and helpful. As for the food, we enjoyed it. We ordered a couple salmon ikura bowls and the quality and portions were both great. My kids enjoyed their salmon teriyaki kids meals and miso soups. We also ordered a whole bunch of rolls and appetizers to share. We liked the soft shelled crab appetizer in particular and ordered two. My father in law was surprised by the portion of his vegetarian special roll and was pleased with it as well. We'll definitely come back. read more

I have come here many times before finally writing a review. This place is always lively, with TV screens over the bar and always full. The food is GOOD! They don't offer all you can eat here, however the portions and quality of the food is so so good! My favorite drink here is the Nashi Martini! Super yummy! The service is excellent here, staff coming by refilling drinks before I even realize I am low. Tables and menu's are cleaned immediately after bring picked up. Don't sleep on the lamb chops here! I've never had chops like this before. What a sleeper menu item. They've got great sushi here. And they've got a unique thai menu as well. A great bar seating as well. Very clean and open space. The service was superb and the chefs brought the vibe. Can't go wrong with a crunchy roll. The shrimp roll special was delicious too.
