My husband and I came here for the AYCE dinner, and unfortunately, it was an extremely disappointing experience. We truly want to support local mom-and-pop restaurants, which is why I'm writing this as constructive feedback rather than to be hurtful. The biggest issue seemed to be severe understaffing. From what we observed, one employee was juggling multiple roles at once: hosting, serving, bussing tables, and even helping behind the sushi counter. There was only one sushi chef and very limited support staff. I felt bad for the employees because they looked overwhelmed and were clearly trying their best. That said, the experience was ridiculously slow. We were there for about two hours, and even basic items took an extremely long time to come out. Our edamame alone took around 30-40 minutes, and many tables around us seemed frustrated with long wait times as well. We also noticed several pickup and delivery drivers waiting for extended periods. The food itself was okay.. not terrible, but not memorable enough to make up for the experience. As the evening went on, it became difficult to get simple things like water refills, napkins, extra ginger, or even our bill because staff were stretched so thin. At one point, the employee helping our section disappeared to assist behind the sushi counter, which made service even slower. What made the experience more frustrating was the lack of communication or acknowledgment of the delays. Even a quick apology, realistic wait-time expectation, or small gesture while customers waited would have gone a long way. One thing I think potential customers should know: there was signage posted offering free mochi ice cream in exchange for leaving a five-star review. While I understand small businesses trying to encourage reviews, I do think it's important for people to read reviews thoughtfully and consider that incentives may influence some ratings. I'm leaving this feedback because I hope management sees it as an opportunity to improve. There seems to be potential here, but the current staffing and service situation made for one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've had. read more

Hands down one of the best sushi spots we've been to! We came here for a family lunch and were impressed. The all-you-can-eat option is a total win--not just for adults but for kids too! The variety was incredible, from fresh sashimi to creative specialty rolls, and everything was made to order and came out beautifully plated. The fish was fresh, and the portions were generous. We especially loved the spicy tuna roll, sashimi, miso soup and fried rice with spicy tuna--so good we ordered seconds! The kids enjoyed the teriyaki chicken, and even tried a few rolls themselves. Service was fast, friendly, and really attentive. They were great with the kids and made sure we had everything we needed. Clean, welcoming atmosphere and plenty of seating. Definitely worth every penny. We'll be coming back for sure! They've got mochi ice cream for dessert too! read more

Just arrived in Nortco California and passed by this small sushi shop so I decided to stop by for some lunch. I was impressed with the ambiance and interior decor. We ordered the lunch special, which was buy one get one of the Golden Tiger Roll and two Crunch Hand Roll. Everything tasted amazing. This is definitely a spot. You should try out whenever you're in the North Corona area while I'm in town I will be coming back. read more

This is the last time I go here. I've decided I'm never going back. It's time for me to find another sushi place. This place has gone downhill over time. Too much rice with thin slivers of fish. They are also very slooooow at serving the sushi. My family has been repeat costumers for over 2 years, coming at least 3 times per month and often times 5-6 times per month. They have started to nickel and dime patrons. If you ask for 2 sliced jalapeños, you may get 1/2 of a sliced jalapeño for a party of 6 or not get any sliced jalapeño at all. Then if you ask for it again, the server tells the sushi chef and the sushi chef gets all bothered. Your left feeling like it's a big deal to ask for a sliced jalapeño to put on your sushi. They add a 25% service fee for a party of 6 or more (which I knew about). This last visit, (last night) we had 6 in the party with 1 patron who did not order one thing (my daughter happened to be in the area and sat and conversed with us while we ate. She had already eaten dinner as it was ~8pm). Guess what? We were charged a "service fee." When I asked the brand new server about the service fee since only 5 patrons ate, she said she would remove it. She came back to the table and said the service fee is for parties of 5 or more (which had never been the case in the past). Being forced to pay a 25% service fee for well below par service from a brand new server, is not ideal. I would have left a 15% tip, not a 25% tip. For about 1/2-3/4 ounce of "fresh wasabi" around two months ago it was $3 and is now $4. The AYCE price went up too. I get that prices have gone up and prices have to increase for profitability, but this feels like they are taking advantage of patrons skimping on options, quality, quantity, and service. They used to have oyster shooters on the AYCE menu--something my husband thoroughly enjoyed. Well they took them off months ago citing that there was some sort of bacteria in the oysters... they never brought them back or considered getting oysters from another location where they weren't affected by the "outbreak." ‍ If you want to change any of the rolls, good luck. For example if you order AYCE and ask for salmon on top of a roll instead of shrimp they'll tell you they'll change it for a fee of $6 on top of the AYCE price..?? In the very recent months each time we go, there is a new server. I feel bad for them because I can tell they are stressed and trying to do things right but just weren't trained adequately. While a new server is learning, for the sake of the customers and the new learning server, there should be an experienced server to help the new server out until she gets the hang of things. read more

First time getting all you can eat sushi dinner at Koya ($35pp): 1. Food was good but packed with SO MUCH RICE. I ordered less than I normally do due to this (see my pictures below). 2. Service was friendly but slow, I saw one waiter and one sushi chef at the bar all night. 3. Interior was very nice and location is right off the freeway. 4. Amazing time with the family!! Yummy dinner, did the all you can eat!! Highly recommend. Orange chicken 20/10 (must try!!!) Comment for management: the pink tree in the front restricts the servers in the restaurant to tend to the customers. So maybe moving it that way they can function but still having the tree else where. read more

First off, our server Meena was remarkable, not only was she very personable, when she overheard us talking about our favorite types of rolls, she brought us one that covered all the bases. The ayce is very reasonable and the quality was superb. Be sure and ask for the fresh wasabi in addition to the regular wasabi that's provided. read more

My fiancé and I came in here for the lunch AYCE. Lunch AYCE is 29.95 and the dinner is 34.95. I found the pricing to be reasonable. The service was very quick and attentive. I also liked the cherry blossom vibes in here. The bathroom hygiene was also really good. I almost gave this spot 5 stars until our last round. Our salmon hand roll (pictured) was served to us frozen. A couple of nigiri had harder rice. Don't let this deter your experience though. I just was surprised they served that to us. We were trying to find a local sushi spot and this place definitely hit the spot!! This place was really good! We enjoyed the service and food was great. They offered us a cucumber salad to try, which my boyfriend loved. I personally did not like their rainbow roll since I thought their crab meat had a grainy texture. My boyfriend however really enjoyed them so maybe I just don't like crab meat haha! Other than that, all their rolls were really good, especially their Nigiri!!! Typically I don't like cream cheese rolls but we got one and it was not overpowering at all, it was well balanced. There were a nice variety of options. The shooters were a plus! The salmon carpaccio was delicious and so happy to have some toro sushi. The staff was attentive and friendly. The location is perfect with plenty of parking. Only thing I didn't care for was the mirror at the bar. I like sitting at the bar and seeing them prepare the items. It is blocked off. Pretty much happy to see an ayce japanese resto opening nearby. The place is quite small but I believe that the food makes up for it. The quality of the nigiris and rolls were pretty good. The mackarel and ikura were solid. The salmon though was just so-so for me. My only gripe was with the calamari. The meat was kinda tough. Other than that, it was a pretty good place to eat ayce in. The service was pretty good. Based on the menu, there's only 3 rounds? I think? But I was only able to eat for 2 rounds. Just pace yourself and don't over order. Overpriced & Skinny. Gas station sushi is a way better option. Naive patrons give 2 or more stars. Paid $36.99 AYCE for adult dinner, could have spent less at a nearby grocer or convenient store. Paper-thin sushi, inedible teriyaki chicken, and watered down soda. It was difficult to order much considering the awful food. Only thing real might be the bottled beers. We did ayce sushi and we were pleasantly surprised with the assortment and prices. The ambience is so welcoming and cozy. The decorations and colorful art make it comfortable. It's a good sized place which makes it homely. Everything is clean and well kept. Mina was our waitress and she is amazing!! Helped recommend great rolls like the hot night roll. I went yesterday and it was a first time for me! We got the AYCE lunch special option for $29.99 a person so very affordable and many food options. There wasn't a lot of people so we got seated right away. The service was somewhat fast, I think there was one waiter but overall, they were very nice and took our AYCE orders right away! The overall look of the restaurant was nice and pretty to look at, with some decorations. From all the food options, the food was super good, fish tasted fresh, and even the appetizers were worth ordering. The miso soup was a little too salty for my taste, with the seaweed flavor being somewhat overpowered. One thing I recommend would be the calamari. The breading and seasoning was impeccable, and I haven't had any calamari that has ever tasted this good, however when we ordered it twice, both times it was overcooked.
