On a spur of the moment trip, my family and I decided to have a late dinner. We hadn't been to Stinkin Crawfish in a very long time. The last time we went was to the Downey location. We wanted to go a little closer to home and found a Stinkin Crawfish here in Whittier. I was concerned because it was almost closing time (I forgot to check!) But Derick was VERY gracious and welcomed us in no problem! Good as always! Came to get Togo today and the staff was careful, when I ordered via phone she repeated my order to ensure order accuracy, and food is 5/5 as usual! Just the crawfish was 3/5, all other items 5/5! I always get garlic butter and "hot" sauce on the side. Everyone gets to enjoy the food and spicy eaters get to dip the seafood in the hot sauce! My family loves this place! We've been to many comparable restaurants (boiling crab, kickin crab, etc.) and Stinking Crawfish is our favorite. Their seasoning is delicious, and their service was excellent. They offered bibs and gloves for us to use which was great for peeling the shrimp. They even offer a free fried Oreo for dessert. When we received our boil it had almost no sauce I had to ask for sauce on the side it took a long time to get the sauce . Our boil tasted like garlic water . Came here for lunch on Friday and it didn't disappoint. Got 1lb of the mild stinkin special tiger shrimp and clams. The shrimp were a tad bit over cooked but the flavor was amazing. The clams were tasty and practically fell out of their shell. The lemon pepper fries were crispy and the seasoning was so good. The place looks like it got remodeled and it looked really nice. Got half pound of head-on shrimp with stinkin special seasoning and one pound of crawfish with the lemon pepper seasoning. It was so yummy and perfect portion for two people. I would probably like to try the garlic butter seasoning next time I go back! The free fried oreo and ice cream dessert was also a nice surprise :) The service could've been better. we had to flag down the waiters on multiple occasions to take our order, give us gloves, and give us bibs. We stumbled upon this place and was actually surprised at the service and quality. Everything seemed fresh and tasty. I've come to this place many times in the past couple of years, but it seems that the food quality is declining. The last two times we ordered the Crabby Lobsters and the sauce was very thing and watered down. It used to be thick and full of flavor. Now it's just a watery sauce that is not good for dipping. This time we tried the Butterfly Shrimp and fries. The batter tasted burnt like it was fried in old oil and the inside was really dry. The fries were not crispy as if it was just sitting under the heat lamp for hours. I didn't second guess on how fast the food was ready or why the place was empty. But now it makes me think that the food was just sitting there ready to be given to the next customer. I am not sure if I will be back. read more

My son and I really enjoyed this place. We both got 1.25 lbs of crawfish and 1.25 lbs of clams each. They are very generous with the amount of lemons they give. The French fries are the best. Came in last Friday before 6pm and I was so happy to be seated right away! The service was terrible at the beginning, it took about 20 minutes before our drink order was take. By this time, we already new what we wanted to order so we placed the order together with the drinks. The server do apologize for the long wait, which I'm glad he acknowledged! After this everything went from 0 to 60 in no time! The beers came out iced cold, shortly after the fresh oysters, followed by the piping hot seasoned fries and calamari and finally the shrimp and clams... the best part of this entire experience was the piping HOT food, and everything was so GOOD! While I'm not entirely sure how the Stinkin' Crawfish accomplishes this feat, in doing I don't feel as bogged down and heavy after my meal. Everyday they sell oysters for $1/piece so long as you buy x6 or more. Additionally, their $13 Stinkin' Lunch Special comes with a half pound of white shrimp (head on), andouille sausage, corn, and a potato which is absolutely unbeatable. A buddy of mine ordered a half dozen oysters, x2 lunch specials, and their Cajun fries which was the perfect amount of food for a quick lunch bite for the both of us. The stinkin special used to be 34.99 (ish give or take a few bucks). Today... it was almost 80 dollars for the special and 2 sides of white rice.
