I've been wanting to try Azabu for years and I'm so glad I finally did! It's the type of restaurant that you'd think would be in LA. Instagram-able, cute bar, pretty lights, fun furniture. These were the items we had: - black crispy rice - 5/5 - sashimi pizza - 3.5/5 - Japanese scallop nigiri - 5/5 - yellowtail carpaccio - 5/5 - Denver roll - 5/5 - Geisha roll - 5/5 The reason I'm knocking down a star is because of the service. It took a bit for our server to greet us. She forgot to put in one of our rolls, she would forget or take a while to bring us some of our condiments, but she was nice.

Came by on a Friday night and it was busy. We didnt have reservations but we were lucky to get a table outside. Our server - Natalia was the best. She was so nice and welcoming. She gave us drink and menu suggestions. Everything she recommended was on point. The food was delicious- the fish tasted freshly prepared and the rolls were unique and tasty. Our cocktails were delicious and strong. The lychee martini isn't on the menu, but its the perfect dessert after your meal. Everything about this place was great - vibes, food, and drinks. But what really stood out was the great service we got. Very attentive and efficient. Highly recommend trying this place.

Whittier, CA - Definitely one of my fav restaurants in LA. Creative menu with great flavors and presentation, fresh seafood, great service and nice ambiance. Prices aren't low but the quality is there so I personally think it's worth it. It's become the meetup spot with my girlfriend for the holiday season now, I guess! We ordered 6 items and they were all enjoyable. The toro tartare had one of the best tartare flavors I've had - quail egg, caviar and just a hint of truffle oil. The azabu crunch was so good - the nori wasn't soggy at all. The Fuji roll was just packed with fresh raw fish, their version of rainbow roll I guess but with more fish. Can't skip the Spanish octopus - so flavorful and soft. And omg the king crab hand roll was bomb. They used some crunchy white wrap (not nori) and the crab with the sauce and perfectly- cooked rice just made me wanna get a second order. Service was great. Our server came to check on us at the right time. Our cups were never empty. It's not crazy crowded even during the weekends and it's easy to find parking. They allowed booking on OpenTable too. Just a perfect evening!

I first came to this place the first week they opened and the person making our sushi was so nice ! We sat at the sushi bar and they were quick with putting our sushi out for us. Since then I've been way too many times but for all the best reasons for happy hour, birthday celebration, new job celebration and life. The food is so fresh and delicious I always make sure to get the fried rice with chicken and an egg. Even if I'm full I take it to go! I am not sure what they put in that stuff but it's DELICIOUS! I've gotten amazing service from the moment I've walked up from the host to the everyone inside. I've also had several drinks from the menu but the Sweet Suika is my go to drink. I can't wait to go this week for date night.

Service was very good our waitress had good recommendations for the most part . She recommended the truffle sashimi tacos and those were actually our favorite thing they were so good!! We also had a few rolls and all were very tasty . The ceviche was also very delicious and tasted fresh . The one thing I was really looking forward to was the Denver wagyu and sadly that was the one thing that disappointed us! Absolutely no flavor!!! And it was so hard to eat so chewy almost not eatable. i was so disappointed because that's the one dish that was hyped up the most! Definitely do not recommend that dish . The ambience is cute definitely a good spot for a first date . Would I come back ? Definitely for sushi but not for the wagyu steak .

Azabu Sushi - Whittier, CA 1/2 (I docked half a star purely out of spite because I can't afford to eat here every day) I walked into Azabu expecting the usual Whittier sushi experience: decent fish, questionable rice, and a lingering fear that the "spicy tuna" might just be yesterday's salmon wearing hot sauce as war paint. Instead I was immediately hit with a vibe that says, "Yes, we know we're in a strip mall next to a boba place, but we're about to ruin you for grocery-store California rolls forever." Let's start with the Salmon Carpaccio (the flat pizza-looking thing in the photo). Imagine if salmon had a glow-up, went to Coachella, and came back wearing citrus ponzu as body glitter and microgreens as a flower crown. It's so pretty I almost felt bad eating it. Almost. Then I inhaled the entire plate in 45 seconds like a savage who'd never seen raw fish before. Zero regrets. The texture is silkier than my ex's lies. Next up: the Shrimp Gyoza in that dark, mysterious broth. These dumplings show up swimming in what I can only describe as "umami bathwater." One bite and I involuntarily whispered "oh daddy" -- which was awkward because I was on a date with my actual father. The wrappers have that perfect pan-seared crisp before collapsing into the sauce like they owe it money. I'd bathe in that broth if it weren't socially unacceptable (and if the staff weren't watching me like I'm one impulse away from grabbing a straw). Portions are annoyingly civilized -- translation: you'll want to order three of everything and then lie about being full so you look refined. Pro tip: don't. Just commit to the food coma. Your jeans will forgive you eventually. Service is ninja-level attentive without being obnoxious. Our server knew the menu like he personally caught the fish at 4 a.m. while doing CrossFit. When I asked what was good he just smirked and said "everything," which should've been arrogant but was 100% correct. Rude. Ambiance? It's dark, moody, and sexy in a way that makes you want to use chopsticks seductively even though you still hold them like a toddler with crayons. Only complaint: the bill. It arrives looking innocent, then you realize you just paid Beverly Hills prices in a city where the biggest landmark is a 24-hour donut shop. Worth it? Absolutely. Will I be eating cup noodles for the next week? Also yes. Verdict: Azabu is the sushi spot Whittier doesn't deserve but desperately needed. If you're still going to the conveyor-belt place down the street after eating here, I'm afraid we can no longer be friends. 9.5/10 -- would sell a minor organ to come back tomorrow.

Well well well. Another restaurant that is aesthetically, pleasing, and meals to match. I came here for a quick drink before I attend to other matters. Whej I walked in I was greeted immediately, they held the door open for with a smile. I love great hospitality. I sat at the bar and was helped right away. Will definitely come back here.

Wow.... Just wow. Azabu made us feel like the queens that we are. We were literally catered to and food was delicious. We were also given advice on what sake to try and it did not disappoint. The vibe was super chill but Saturday night vibes for sure. You better dress to impress when you show up here! Candle lit dinner with beautiful dressed up food. Everyone was super kind and just over all a wonderful experience. This sparked up my fine dining urge to find more restaurants that service as Azabu does. Thank you for having me.

Came here for a quick dinner date with my husband. We did not have a reservation, and were seated in the outdoor patio, which was still pretty. The place looked elegant and classy. Looked like it is definitely a date night spot as there were a lot of couples. Service was great, our waitress was lovely. My husband and I ordered the Keto roll and the Seafood pasta to share. Food was just, okay. Underwhelming, if you ask me. Drinks were also okay. Worth the try, even if it's just once.

Made a resy for the place but tbh no wait and walk in for a Wednesday night 5pm. Our server Yulia was so nice, warm, and gave great suggestions. Love her sm. Vibes are chill. Quite honestly just yapped the whole time uninterrupted. Food was great nothing TOO special to write home about. Drinks were drinking. Tbh the truffle fries were a hidden gem good call. Swag.

I'm not going to lie, this is one of my favorite spots for sushi. I always bring people here, and they all say the same thing: "it's so good." The service is impeccable, very attentive and professional, and the atmosphere is great, with really chill vibes.

Ambiance is beautifully lit with candles. The service is also great. The hostess is welcoming and the servers do a great job at checking in on you throughout your dinner. My sushi roll and cocktail were tasty. I definitely recommend everyone to checkout Azabu! I will be back! (:

Yellowtail carpaccios

Absolutely one of my favorite Japanese restaurants! I really enjoyed the charred Spanish octopus . It was tender, seasoned just right, and not overly charred. The snow crab handrolls were great as well, when I bit into the soy paper, the aroma from the sesame seeds enhanced the flavor of the crab and the sauce in the roll. The toro tartare was phenomenal, hands down one of the best tartare I've ever had. The presentation makes it look so magical lol. The raw items were fresh and the service was top notch. The music wasn't too loud so I could still have a conversation with my friend. The restroom was also very well maintained. Street parking was an ease. Prices were a bit steep but definitely worth it! It's been a day and I'm still thinking about the toro tartare!
