Celiac Safe-Gluten Free options I've eaten here twice and I can confidently say that I've had a great experience with the food. I have celiac disease and I get there chilaquiles green or red which state GF, but just make sure to state gluten allergy and they take care of you. I have not gotten sick and trust me when there is cross contamination I will feel it in minutes, not here though. I only gave them a 4 star because I wish they had more GF options but other than that, love love love this place read more

Staff was great . Average food at best ; over priced ! That about sums it up . Even if it were reasonably price food was still average & I wouldn't go back . I ordered the breakfast burrito ; was dry and a bit bland . Salsa was on side which helped a bit , but probably should have had pico de gallo and some fruit garnishment . Presentation wasn't even attractive. Also my meal was delivered 6-7 mins after my friends and it was awkward for her . ( we ordered at exact same time ) she ordered the Machaca Scramble which was tasty . I really wanted to like the place read more

Party of 6. It's a walk up and order. No cash accepted. Recommend you don't add tip in advance and leave cash at table. My friend ordered the short rib and was disappointed because the meat was shredded. Not sure if it's described that way on menu. I finding that most restaurants now that offer home fries give a prepped frozen version rather than a fresh peeled or skin on potato with bell peppers and onions. Poached does this too so potatoes not fresh. I'll try the hash browns next time. I had the greek omlette. I did like that. My sour dough was not pre-buttered. I didn't mind. I didn't ask server for butter. My other friend ordered the chicken sandwich she only mentioned the fries were good, but she didn't finish her sandwich. I ordered a dulce de leche coffee hot. That was good not too hot so I didn't have to wait for it yo cool down to sip. Last note the women's restroom did not have a bin in the stall for used feminine hygiene products. That's a plumbing disaster waiting to happen. Must be male owners. read more

Nice addition to the Whittier neighborhood. Nestled in a great spot on Whittier Blvd. The menus are exciting and full, all items come hand prepared and ready to please the diners. Omelettes were great, breads were fresh. I must add, the kids menu need to be addressed. All are $10 so I ordered pancake & bacon option for my kids, and the amount of food was, well, see the photos. One slice of bacon and one pancake. It's cute, but I can't help but to think, 2025 food inflation is real. read more

After 3rd try was able to get a parking spot and have zero wait. Sooooooo disappointed. Hard to walk all around to Whittier blvd entrance to order at the counter. Prices soooo high and I had to order at the counter and not have proper service???!!! If they got rid out counter for ordering. They could put se deal more tables. The. They could have people order by parking lot at the Togo location instead. Was sat at the front window at a small table for 2 and was boiling hot from the heat coming in the window. We ordered huevos rancheros. They were so bland and tasteless Eggs Benedict lacking sauce and egg overcooked. Extremely overcooked hash browns that were difficult to cut with knife. Apple pancakes tasted like microwaved pancakes that were not fresh. And the apple was just meh. So pricey and not worth the $$$$.for the price it should have real servers. Once our food was delivered no one came by or offered us anything or asked if the food was ok. I think for the price. Go down the street to the original pancake house instead. You get yummy food and real service. read more

Really not a fan of this joint. They hype it up that's for sure. Food is ok but nothing special. Under seasoned. Prices are on the higher side. Friendly staff. read more

Overpriced & mid. The steak wrap was $20 and disappointing. Tasted like a cold fajita, wrapped into a tortilla. Would not recommend. The $5 Hibiscus was tiny and looked like water. For the same price you can get an authentic Jamaica agua fresca from Northgate that's double the size. The chicken sandwich is good and the fries are nice and crispy, but for $18? Cmon now... I'd rather go to Chick-fil-A across the street. The Chilaquiles were the best item at our table, but damn, $12 add on for steak? Sheesh. This place is overpriced for mid food. I would expect these prices near the ocean, not Whittier. Will not be returning. read more

Poached Kitchen - Hibiscus $5. Overpriced and tiny. Needs to be removed off the menu. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Whittier, California

Cool little spot, have tried a few different things on the menu and so far the huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, and eggs Benedict are the standouts. All the servers here are very prompt, the place can feel kind of hectic at times because of the tight spacing between seating but it's a welcomed addition to Whittier. read more

First time visit and we were very pleased! I ordered a create-your-own omelette (cheese with avocado), hash brown and sourdough toast. Omelette was good, although the cheese was not melted all the way, and the avocado was fresh. Hash browns were really, really good. The sourdough was real sourdough, like from a bakery, not a processed loaf, and served with strawberry jam, not a packet from the table. And they have Cholula. My honey ordered the Huevos Rancheros with potatoes and flour tortillas. The black beans, tortillas, and potatoes were good, and he liked the way the eggs were served tostada style. The only thing he would have preferred was a house salsa instead of the pico de gallo. Attentive service even though you order at the counter and food is delivered to the table. It was easy to ask for what we needed. We were impressed overall and will return! read more

Two Classic Breakfasts, coffee, 1side pancake .... $60! Bland, except for salty ham which was quite dry Canadian Bacon. Bland, dry scrambled eggs (although we were assured that eggs wouldn't be overcooked here). Hash browns were like mushy mashed potatoes ( although extra crispy was requested). Mediocre bitter house coffee. Pancake was mediocre. Some other menu selections may be okay, may be good, but if a place can't deliver a great classic breakfast, and at this price...we're done! read more

Poached Kitchen - Sad Classic breakfast that I didn't feel like finishing - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Whittier, California

Party of 10 and sadly wasn't worth it. Two orders of steak and eggs with hash brown. Hash-browns was soggy and undercooked. Steak was chewy and no flavor. Pancakes tasted like banana for some reason. Chilaquiles was good wish there was more for 17 bucks. Cob salad was ok same with the steak burrito which again was chewy. Can't really mess up bacon and eggs so that came out ok. Overall would not come back. Better options out there. Staff seemed kinda unhappy not sure why. read more

The food was fresh, the wait was short, and our waiter was nice. However, the four female employees we encountered were noticeably unpleasant. Not one of them smiled or made us feel welcome. When we asked if there was another exit, one pointed with her black gloves and then brushed her hands together in a way that came across as a clear "get out" gesture. Whether it was intentional or not, their expressions and behavior gave the impression that they did not want to be there or deal with customers. read more

Good service, friendly staff, and well-presented food. Of course, freshly squeezed orange juice and the mocha coffee was very good

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away by the friendly staff which made me feel very welcome. I ordered my food at the front counter, grabbed my number, and found a seat at an empty table. The interior has a really nice vibe- modern, clean, and very relaxing. I ordered an iced vanilla latte which the barista brought out quickly. It was absolutely amazing - perfectly balanced and not to sweet. My food came out shortly after. I ordered the chilaquiles verde with a over-medium egg. They were honestly the best I've ever had. Everything tasted super fresh, from the crispy tortillas to the flavorful green salsa and toppings. Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere was all top-notch. I will definitely be coming back!! read more

I was really excited for this business to open in Whittier as I have been to the location in Downey. First, they did a horrible job in the placement of the front door. It is on the street side and VERY difficult to get to. They should have made the entrance on the parking lot side and made the to go orders on the street side instead. The coffee is good, not too sweet. I had the lavender latte and my hubby had a regular coffee. The food was superb (french toast). My hubby had the French toast and I had the chilaquilles rojo (vegan). I tried his French toast and DAYUM! So damn good. It literally melted on my mouth. The chilaquilles were good, but I have had better. I also had the breakfast burrito to go and it was good. I have also had the granola with fruit. I love the decor with an ode to Whittier and it's local HS (La Serna and Cal). What I am not happy about is the price. Expect to pay! Foods are stand alone. Nothing comes with the pancakes or French toast. The burrito was so pricey and the size did not justify it at all. The coffee was also extremely high, for smaller sizes cup. Overall it is good for breakfast dates for two, but not for families - even though they have a kids menu. read more

Breakfast came with flavor and confidence, even if the prices were acting brand new. Burrito was packed but leaned a little dry--nothing a sauce upgrade couldn't fix. Overall, food was good, vibes were right, and I'd still recommend it. read more

Cute place to hangout and have a girls' brunch. They didn't kick us out for staying too long, cause we need our time to catch up. I appreciate that. I also like that we order our food first, pay for it and then get seated, so we pay for our own meal without splitting the bill. Employees are attentive and weekend brunch was pretty busy. My chilequiles verde had a kick to it and it was delish. Restroom was clean which is a plus. read more

We typically go to Poached in Downey but decided to give the Whittier location a try. We checked the hours which indicated they close at 2:00 PM. We arrived at 1:30 and asked if they could still serve us and they indicated yes. Then we were informed they could not serve us coffee. They were definitely in close mode as our food had not arrived and they were putting chairs up on empty table and sweeping the floor around us. Anyone who came in at 1:40 or later were informed they could only order takeout. At least 15 people left without ordering anything. What a missed opportunity for the business! The food was delicious but I would hesitate to go back because I felt they were rushing me out. Perhaps if you'd like all of your staff to be out by 2:00, you could say you only seat guests until 1:00 and will process takeout orders until 1:30. read more
