Last night I was looking in the craft beer section. And I was browsing. I felt rushed by the guy...and hurried for no reason.... like they thought I was back there drinking the beer or something. I am L.E....... I'm not going to steal beer..... I stop people from doing that. No need to rush me. Some nice choices tho. read more

So, the old owner George sold and now this place is just an overpriced liquor store. The personal experience is no more. Looks like I'll drive to liquor mart for my drinks! read more

George is The Grog Shop! Been a satisfied customer for over 20 years and have always enjoyed walking into an environment where each and every patron is treated to being the most important part of his day. The stock of regular beers and liquor is really good but his best items are the vast amount of smaller brewery artesian beers that are kept cold and you can walk into the cooler to see them all. Pricing is very fair. Not to forget the food available at Rafikis counter. A dedicated chef who brings so many tasty item for take out or stay and eat (limited seating). Breakfast burritos, ceviche and sandwiches all at great prices. See review @mywhittiertv. Plenty of parking. The Grog Shop on Colima is a gem. Thumbs up! read more

This is one of those businesses that saw that another business is doing well and they thought: "i can do that (as well)" it is a liquor store that has had half of it turned into a coffee shop/lounge. it is a strange atmosphere to walk into to say the least. It's i more as if there were two different shops, and the wall that was dividing the two got knocked down for whatever reason. leaving two unrelated types of shops exposed to each other. read more

I love this little liquor store, didn't realize there were a bunch in Whittier called the Grog Shop, but this one is by far the very best! Too bad I'm moving, we really like this liquor store, they have wide variety of Craft Beers, plus the owner is very knowledge of craft beers (not like the others, they just know beer is beer), & also wine and the hard stuff...lol Well I hope we find a decent liquor store near Uptown/W. Whittier (yeah....I hate west whittier, only cuz I grew up there) :( But worth the drive if we have to find our beer read more

I am the hardcore craft beer enthusiast. Been going there for long time since my first review. I still have to say they are one of the best to go to for craft beers. They do take requests if it's reasonable and within market. They usually take time and make their recommendations. They know what they talking about. read more

Recently had to close my checking account and with my lousy bank taking forever to get me a new account and online access I had to find a way to pay my SoCal Edison bill. I called Edison up and they gave me a few places in the area where I could pay my bill free of charge. The Grog Shop is one of those places where you can pay your Edison bill and a whole bunch of other bills free of charge (at least the Edison bill was free of charge). They have a list of places that you can pay your bill for here. This is good to know in case you ever have the issue I had where your bank account is inaccessible or if your payment is due and you need to pay ASAP. read more

Best local craft beer selection in Whittier. Excellent customer service from George and his team. Cheers!!

This liquor store is quite the gem. Has everything and anything. The deli was closed, but that was ok, as we weren't there to eat. George is very kind and helpful. Thanks for everything George! read more

5 stars if I could give it more I would! Favorite place to go for anything. They have more beer than you could imagine and if you can't find a beer you want they'll have it the next week. EDIT: love the staff they are the best! So friendly and welcoming it's like you've known them forever. Also they give the best recommendation for any type of beer you're in the mood for! If I could give more stars I would! read more

This place has nice selection of beer. I've come here a few times for my favorite craft beer from Barrel House. What really makes this place stand out is the customer service. I was greeted in the parking lot. read more

This a great place in Whittier to get craft beer. The craft banners and signs really captivate Whittier's home town nostalgia! I can't believe we've lived in Whittier for years and have never been to the Grog Shop. What a great jewel! They have so many unique beers such as Jim Beam and Budweiser which we love and so many, many more. Also, a great place to pick up snacks. The sandwiches are Awesome!!! Submarine, Turkey, Ham among others. Delicious and only $5 for 6" with chips. They cater too! They also have the lottery and hot spot with is a Big plus! The owner George is fantastic! We will definitely be back!!! Thank you George! read more

Love the Grog Shop! Great Beer Selection! Friendly Staff! Follow them on Instagram for their releases!!!

I bought a sandwich from this place and it had a bug inside of it the health department should check this place out

I thought this place was going to be my new craft beer spot. But with my recent visit I rather take my business elsewhere. The worker behind the counter made me feel so uncomfortable. Kept watching over me and following me while in the store which made me not want to buy anything and just go purchase beer somewhere else. read more

Pabst in a bottle! Nice selection of beer as well. Very Friendly and helpful. This is a good local spot

On the outside it looks like a regular run down liquor store, but once you walk in it is anything but. Half of the store is a unique coffe/sandwich bar, and on the other side is the liquor store with every brand and type of alcohol I could imagine. I ordered the large roast beef sandwich. It's cheaper and way more flavorful than subway. The veggies are actually fresh and aren't frozen, the meat was fresh, and the bread was quite tasty as well. For 6.49 you get a large roast beef sandwich with a small drink or a bag of chips, well worth it. read more

Love this place! Always a pleasure shopping for my beer thereeveryone that works there is always so friendly and helpful.

Great selection of craft beers, and now some pretty good food, too. The deli counter is a nice addition. If they can start carrying Lizard's Mouth DIPA I might sleep in the back! read more

Great selection of craft beers and they are adding more beers all the time. The owner is cool and seems into the growth of craft beer. The only problem is the prices are a bit high even higher then other local liquor stores and the fact that they charge a service charge for using credit cards adds a even more steep price. read more

This place has everything you need, from enormous bags of ice and huge packs of domestic beers to craft beers and Funyuns. To top it all off, they also sell cigarettes and liquor. They also carry a large variety of non alcoholic drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are great too. read more

This local liquor store has really stepped up it's craft beer game. Parking is plentiful and convenient and inside it is spacious and has everything one would need from a local mini mart. However, what makes me a loyal fan is their great selection of craft beer. George and his staff really listen to their customers and will try to carry what they ask for. My favorites here include El Segundo Brewing, Ballast Point, Belching Beaver, Modern Times, Stone, Anchor Steam and on and on. Thank you for the excellent customer service Grogg Shop! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Didn't know it was around the corner from my house. I always traveled to liqour mart for craft beers. Grogshop has a great selection on both beer and liqour. The prices are average, definitely not more expensive that anywhere else ive been to for the same beer. The guys working there are very helpful when it comes to selection..very welcoming and friendly. The owner he even offered to deliver to me if I ever had a last minute order. I gotta try the deli one day....if you like IPA, try the "Raging bitch"! read more

Complete bottle shop. Just landed Beachwood outta LBC. Very nice walk-in cooler and friendly service. Clean store as well.

Great liquor store. My go to spot. Unbelievable beer selection. Seasonal and hard to find craft brews!! Cheaper than super markets for beer.

Any place that is current enough to have the limited edition Sierra Nevada Beer Camp is amazing in my book! I really like the people who work at grog. If you ask for a beer that they do not have in the store they will order it as quickly as possible! I'll be back here again and again! read more

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! Stopped by to get a soda and possibly a bite to eat in a make shift sandwich shop within this 2nd grade liquor store. I asked the lady to at the sandwich shop if I can use her restroom she directed me to it. After using the restroom my associate and I sat down at a table located within the sandwich shop. A couple of minutes later a man from the liquor store side came over and rudely asked if we were going to order something from the sandwich shop as if we were taking space in this EMPTY sandwich place. I couldn't take his RUDE behavior any longer so I asked my associate we should leave. I expressed my displeasure with this person from the Liquor store which I presumed was the owner and told him he was RUDE and he couldn't help to agree with me by saying "I AM RUDE"! NEVER would I step foot into this place ever again! I urge you not to either. As a patron I don't ask for much but to have common courtesy since I am purchasing locally but to be treated so indigent NO Thanks! read more

George REALLY knows his beer! Every time I visit the Grog Shop I ask him for a recommendation. He has been spot on every time.

Great sandwiches, however, a little overpriced on the alcohol. But for sure, go there for the sandwiches. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Subway up the street that gets a lot of people sick. read more
