a variety of trays of food

The posole aka pozole and caldo and cocido all good!! The women that make it here do great jobs! Every day is a new fresh sopa, however sometimes we'll most times they have 2 holidays people come in and order multiple large pozoles for parties. food is very good and they are always busy on lunch and cold days and holidays. All made in the home. I would call because the soups can change or they have two soups they do sell out so for holidays come in a few days at least to place your order. It's not a fancy place, at all but the food is good and many people come and if you like small spots, you know those good hole in the wall spots that have been around for years then this is the spot. i never had a issue with the food, there food is good but with pozole and caldo taste very.

Saw a roach crawling around the hot food container. While waiting in line to order something another person in line noted to the woman making food that there was a roach crawling around inside the already cooked hot food compartment. I saw the roach moving in between the various containers and the woman tried shewing it away with a styrofoam cup. I exited immediately not ordering anything. It pains me to even write this since I really like this place but cleanliness is very important!

$7 tums

I got ripped off so bad. These tums said 2.49 and he rang me up and said it was 7.11. I started asking how that's possible and he just kept saying 20% tax. Unfortunately there was a line behind me so all I got to say was so you're saying tax is more than 2.50? He said yes and I was in shock so just laid it and left. This is for 8 measly tums my dude was livid. DONT shop here

Asada tacos $2 each but is 2x the size of a regular taco. Served with a roasted habanero, delish

Walked in to buy some gum (looks like a liquor store from the outside) and was happily surprised to find out that this place is a legitimate, grocery store w/ butchering + deli service. The kitchen, located on the left side upon entry, does Mexican comfort food + pizza at really reasonable prices. I bought lunch (two pork tamales) +6 pack of soda+ couple of bags of chicharones +couple of Mexican sweets = $12. Small, mom n pop, full service grocers like these are a dying breed. If you're near by its a good place to grab a fresh bite to eat + some snacks for the office. Neat little market, 5 bright stars

The 5 stars are for the mexican deli, and spreading some of that to the mexican sweet bread and carneceria. It''s a great thing to have for when you don't feel like cooking & want a delicious quick meal, better yet it tastes so good and authentic. The lady that runs it is really sweet & gives you good portions. The pandulce is really good & the carnerceria has good seasoned meats to grill or make however you wish. Part of the produce isn't too bad in prices, depends on what your getting. The market/liquor portion is ridiculously overpriced, but if you don't mind getting ripped off for convenience....The little asian gentleman that runs it however is really sweet and gives great customer service to his local patrons. Until I move, this is my weekly pitstop. One more thing, they sell the large menudo (on the weekends) for $6.00, and if you bring your olla, please remember $6 only goes for the amount they sell for the large container, so if your olla is huge, your going to pay more, to serve a family of four costs close to $15 - about the average now a days.

Menudo YUMMM

If you are in the mood for delicious Menudo, the way mom and grandma make it, this is the place! The ladies here make their menudo with love, full of flavor and the spice is just right!

Uptown Provisions - Egg Salad Sandwich.. so good!

The sambal chili aioli was a sleeper - it packed in a ton of unexpected spice. Deliciously unexpected. The thick toasted brioche bun also added a layer of sweetness. We ordered the turkey BLT because it was a special. It was, of course, delish, but I should have kept to the tried and trues. I'll definitely be back. Also PSA and order your sandwiches for pickup. We waited for quite a bit in the heat even though we visited at an off hour (on a Sunday). Also, there's a nearby park closer to Uptown you can enjoy your sandwiches.

Keep in mind I ordered around 12:50pm and the sandwich was ready at 1:45pm. I ordered the Spicy Gabagool Sandwich, and there were barely any mixed greens as compared to other reviews & the menu photo (I love my veggies)! The meats were yummy, but they did not stand out to me/didn't taste anything special. Unfortunately, the same goes for the bread. However, I did like the packaging of the sandwich and everything in the sandwich tasted well together; the chile spread, burrata, hot honey, pickled onions, meats.. the spice level is definitely tolerable; I didn't need water at all. It was more of a small kick. I also tried their lemon crumb bar and it was very delicious! If anything I would come again to try more of their unique baked goods. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the shop. It is quite small and there are many people waiting for their order inside. There is only outdoor seating, which is scarce.

No one was around to help him, and when he called the manager, Raquel, over for help, she seemed mad and bothered instead of being patient or supportive. Raquel asked him how he was doing with the produce codes, and he honestly said he was getting better but still needed to look at the sheet by the register for help. Instead of encouraging him, she got upset and told him he needed to memorize all the codes and not look at the book. She then compared him to herself, saying that when she first started, she memorized the codes fast and never needed help. As a customer, this was very uncomfortable and upsetting to witness. The employee was clearly trying his best, and there was no reason to embarrass him in front of customers. A new employee should be trained with patience and respect, not made to feel bad for asking for help. After seeing how management treats their employees, I do not feel comfortable supporting this market anymore. I will not be returning, and I hope the owners take this seriously because employees deserve respect, patience, and basic kindness at work.

Unfortunately, that experience has completely changed. Every single time I come in now, the only thing open is self-checkout. If I wanted to scan and bag all my own groceries, I could go to Food 4 Less or ALDI and save money while doing it myself. The whole reason many of us shop here is because we expect better service. It's incredibly frustrating to spend premium grocery prices and still have to do the work ourselves. On top of that, bagging groceries properly actually matters -- especially when buying produce, eggs, meat, or fragile items. Employees who are trained to bag groceries make a difference, and it's disappointing that customer service seems to be disappearing completely. I understand stores are trying to cut costs, but eliminating staffed checkout lanes is hurting the customer experience. Long-time customers notice the difference, and it honestly makes me question why I should continue shopping here instead of going somewhere cheaper. I really hope management starts valuing customer service again and keeps actual checkout lanes open consistently.
