If you're looking for good, authentic Chinese food in the area, I'd say that Happy Bee Kitchen is a good option! I came with a party of 6, and we ordered a variety of dishes that we shared family style. Overall, I'd say that all of the dishes here were solid, with the most surprising dish being the house special eggplant...I'm usually not a huge fan of eggplant but this dish was delicious! Portion sizes and prices here are fair as well and my party all left feeling full and satisfied. We came here on a weekday night and although there was a decent amount of people here, we were able to get seated right away. Service here was a bit slow at times but exceptionally friendly! The ambiance here is typical of a sit down Asian restaurant. The restaurant is located in the same plaza as 99 ranch market and there was plenty of parking.
We came here for a family dinner after seeing the good reviews. We ordered a few different Chinese dishes and fried rice, and honestly everything tasted really good. The prices were reasonable too, especially for the portion sizes. My parents really enjoyed the food, so that made me happy as well. The gentleman helping our table was super friendly and moved very fast the whole time. Even though he was busy, he still checked on everyone and kept a great attitude. The place itself is not super fancy, but it feels comfortable and relaxed for a family meal. Good food, good portions, friendly service, and overall a very pleasant experience. We'll probably come back again.
I came here for dinner, the restaurant is not very big, but we were able to get seated right away. Everything came out in a decent amount of time except for the chicken feet. Portion size depended on the dish. The honey walnut shrimp was definitely on the smaller side while the orange chicken had a lot, but it was more like thin crispy chicken strips which I have never had this kind of orange chicken. Service was good. I might come back to try some other dishes since it is close by.
Came back for a big family pickup on Easter Sunday! Ordered two Calamari appetizers, fried fish, sesame balls, chow mein, one of my favorite dishes Walnut Shrimp! This is now in my top 2 Chinese places in the LB/Cerritos area. Everything is fresh, nice portions for sharing, and the host and server were courteous. We're going to have to eat in sometime, the dining area is well kept.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I know this place exceeds expectations. I was simply looking for a place with calamari and found my next dinner spot when I want a cozy meal. The calamari was flavorful in a way that it didn't taste like squid covered in flour and fried. The calamari had a nice savory flavor to it and my tastebuds appreciated the kick. I also ordered the house special chow mein. Again, not sure what I was expecting, but this dish was something different. There was a generous serving of each protein and the soy sauce was not overdone. I had to stop and remind myself I wanted to save some for my work lunch. Side note- these entrees definitely reheat well. I would say the only drawback was that I had ordered for pick-up and the food came out a little later than the expected pick-up time. You can't rush a good meal.

We have ordered takeout a coup of times and finally had a chance to eat here. The food is pretty good, price is reasonable, and the cozy store is comfortable. With 4 dishes for the 3 of us, we liked pretty much everything we ordered and we had plenty to take home! The French style beef fillet, the meat was very tender, it was tasty and goes well with rice. When we ordered over of the vegetables, the server recommended something else more fresh, we appreciated that. We ended up ordering the Stirred fried Sprouts and it was excellent. We also ordered the Seafood with bean curds in clay pot, it was delicious with many kinds of seafood, the only thing is the clay pot was smaller other dishes. The only one that would probably not order again was House Special Squid. The dish was tasty with generous portions, the squids were fried and have the House sauce on top, generally, we prefer either non-fried, or fried without sauce on top as sauces makes the fried stuff less crunchy. Overall, it was a tasty dish but just not how we preferred. I think this may become one of our go to places!
All time favorite Chinese Food spot in the area and love the flavors. It's my go to spot to eat there and to order take out. It's reasonably priced and definitely try to get the lunch special to help your wallet.
All dishes were very tasty with friendly service and quick wait time. Waitress was able to answer questions. Clean restaurant with booths and tables and clean restroom. My favorite was the green beans. First time trying this place since i'm not from the area. Meets bay area standards.
Been here a bunch of times, we used to come here when it was a different name. Overall the food is pretty good. Sometimes it's a little inconsistent though, like this time. The Mongolian beef was insanely salty, almost inedible you had to eat it with rice. It's not usually that salty though so it was definitely a fluke. House Crispy noodle is always good and it was good this time. I almost wanna give them a three stars because that dish was ruined but we've had so many other good experiences here that I'll leave it at four.
I've been going to Happy Bee for many years and have always enjoyed my meals. The food is delicious and comforting. The staff is also very friendly and it's a nice family owned restaurant. It is very clean. My favorites are the house special crispy noodles, green beans, and the fried lobster. They have a great lunch special during the weekdays, which also includes a lunch special lobster deal.
Hadn't eaten Cantonese food in a while so had to hit up our favorite place in Artesia. This food was even better than we remember. We got a nice assortment of dishes that you'll see in this review.

Not worth the price, in my opinion. The only flavor I could taste was soy sauce, which completely overpowered everything else. The shrimp smelled and tasted unusually fishy, making the dish hard to enjoy. I wouldn't order it again. The lady kept asking if I was there to pick up a DoorDash order, even after I told her twice that I wasn't. It felt like she didn't believe the order was actually mine, which made the experience uncomfortable. read more
Again these strip mall Chinese food places in LA really surprised us. Authentic and huge portions. We were able to take a lot of it to go. Mongolian beef, pot stickers, bbq pork bun, shrimp broccoli, orange chicken, fish veggies lunch special. All of it tasted on point and once again the portions were huge. The only downside, or non authentic thing was their iced lemon drink and their Chinese drinks in general. Worse than powder tasting, it was really awful with a weird after taste. This is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The best chowmein. Today i ordered Fish Filet with Garlic sauce To Go. I was so excited to taste it. Opened the box, and it was overflowing with Celery and a few pieces of fish filet. Don't do that. You'll lose customers. read more

Came here on a Sunday for a family lunch and had such a great experience! The place is a bit small and compact, but it feels bright and welcoming with its big glass windows letting in plenty of light. We were seated right away, even though there were already a few customers inside. Service was super friendly and fast. They set up our table right away, asked about drinks, and even brought peanuts while we checked out the menu. Food came out hot and surprisingly quick! We started with the chicken and cream corn soup, which was warm, creamy, and so comforting. My personal favorite was the French-style filet beef filet. It's very tender, flavorful, and perfect with their fried rice. Portion sizes are generous too, so it's great for sharing. The staff were really attentive and quick to help with anything we needed. Even small requests were taken care of right away with a smile. Lots of parking outside, so no stress there. Overall, awesome spot for good Chinese food, great service, amazing staff, and a chill family meal. read more

Came by for lunch with my parents the other day, and my mom absolutely loves this spot. It's definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area, especially for the price. The food was delicious--highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp and the shredded pork with bean curd. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and they even give dried peanuts! One of my go-to restaurants when it comes to Chinese food. I love their pan fried crispy noodles which I crave often and ordered to-go through DoorDash. Other favorites are honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, house special fish fillet, and french style beef fillet. The beef dish has so much flavor, and comes with tons of onions and mushrooms. Their orange chicken isn't in big chunks like other places, rather they're thinner and softer but still crispy. When I crave fish, I get their house special fish fillet which also has a nice crisp and saltiness. Service has always been friendly, and they even pack your leftovers themselves. They have lunch specials as well, so recommend coming by for lunch. Plenty of parking in a shared plaza. read more

Happy Bee Kitchen serves a wide range of Cantonese and other Southeast Asian dishes, with plenty of options across meat, seafood, and even lobster combinations. The portion sizes are larger than most restaurants for the price. For dine-in, you definitely get generous servings -- our party of five ordered four dinner entrées and still had more than enough to take home. Honestly, if I had known we'd have so much left over, I would've ordered a few extra dishes just to try more of the menu. What I really appreciated was that the food wasn't overly salty or heavy on sodium. The flavors were clean, balanced, and still on point -- you're not having to drink water like a camel during or afterwards. The dining room was clean, the bathrooms well maintained, and the overall environment was comfortable. Service was I h appreciated: our waitress was very welcoming and accommodating, especially with the little kids in our group. Food came out promptly, even though I noticed plenty of pick-ups and to-go orders happening, plus a big catering order being prepared. I'll be comfortable dining solo or bringing a large group here. Great experience probably 3rd time coming here.....Had a small celebration for my parents wedding anniversary....Happy 60th Mom and Dad!!!!!!!! Service is like many Chinese places quick and efficient..... Staff was attentive and good....what I like about this place it isn't so huge that the staff doesn't have time to be friendly.... At most times they were quick and helpful.... We got a lot of dishes I forgot to take pics of the appetizers....so here is what I have...Salty Fish and Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp with Scrambled Egg, French Style Beef Filet, Spicy Egg Plant w/Garlic Sauce, Sauteed Water Spinach.... Since I am pretty much Vegan all I had was the Water Spinach and the Egg Plant...both were good .... Everybody else like the other dishes... Definitely will be back..... read more
Love this place, came here for dinner with my family. Accommodating staff and service in a casual setting. This place offers authentic Chinese cuisine with generous portions, food was fresh and delicious. They also have peanuts to snack on, my nephews enjoyed it. We ordered the family set menu for $178. It came with the fish maw crab meat soup, honey walnut shrimp, hainan chicken, French style beef fillet, salt and pepper pork chop, black mushroom with green vegetable, yang chow style fried rice, red bean sesame balls, and sweet red bean tapioca. Everything was so filling, we had to take some of the food home. This place gets really busy, highly recommend to make a reservation for big groups. Well. This seems like a perfect coincident. Well, i think it is genius marketing. My mother has been going to this spot due to word of mouth. And this is sponsored on yelp?! Anyway, the food and overall experience. This is authentic Cantonese. The waitress spoke fluent chinese. We got the grumpy picky grandma customer sitting 2 tables down. The waiting staffs served us with a smile while holding their breathe when they went over to their table, getting themselves ready for the next round of complaint. Today is Tuesday, We were pleasantly surprised how large the lunch portion were and the older gentleman that served the 7 of us was very nice to us (not like the other guy we experienced in the past). I found this spot driving through Artesia on Pioneer Blvd. The place looked promising specializing in Cantonese food and serves one of my favorite dishes, hainan chicken. I could not pass on the hainan chicken so I stop for a quick lunch. Their menu offers 1/2 or whole hainan chicken. Since it was only me, I ordered their 1/4 chicken plate for lunch. To my surprise, they served me bone-in steamed chicken that included chicken neck and wing. The rice was bland, hard and overcooked. The only redeeming items on the plate was the flavorful ginger and oil sauce and the pickled vegetables. Sadly, I was disappointed. The place is very casual with no frills Mom and Pop vibe. Service was mediocre and typical of most Chinese restaurants. I suspect their other food items on the menu are much better based on other reviews, but personally, I would not order the hainan chicken based on my experience. read more

Came here for lunch based on good YELP reviews. The restaurant was clean. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered salt and pepper fish fillets, fried crispy with bits of green onion and jalapeno along. It was delicious! Also had crispy, house special, pan fried noodles. Very flavorful! I plan to return. Four very enthusiastic stars!! read more
