This review is long overdue because I truly feel this restaurant deserves a great one. Whenever I'm craving Chinese food, this is always the first place that comes to mind. Not only do they serve some of the most authentic Cantonese cuisine in the area, but the staff are consistently warm and friendly -- unlike the "typical" stereotype of Chinese restaurants where servers may ignore customers' requests. On top of that, their prices are extremely reasonable, especially with today's inflation. Again these strip mall Chinese food places in LA really surprised us. Authentic and huge portions. We were able to take a lot of it to go. Mongolian beef, pot stickers, bbq pork bun, shrimp broccoli, orange chicken, fish veggies lunch special. All of it tasted on point and once again the portions were huge. The only downside, or non authentic thing was their iced lemon drink and their Chinese drinks in general. Worse than powder tasting, it was really awful with a weird after taste. I came with a party of 6, and we ordered a variety of dishes that we shared family style. Overall, I'd say that all of the dishes here were solid, with the most surprising dish being the house special eggplant...I'm usually not a huge fan of eggplant but this dish was delicious! Portion sizes and prices here are fair as well and my party all left feeling full and satisfied. We came here on a weekday night and although there was a decent amount of people here, we were able to get seated right away. Service here was a bit slow at times but exceptionally friendly! I came here for dinner, the restaurant is not very big, but we were able to get seated right away. Everything came out in a decent amount of time except for the chicken feet. Portion size depended on the dish. The honey walnut shrimp was definitely on the smaller side while the orange chicken had a lot, but it was more like thin crispy chicken strips which I have never had this kind of orange chicken. Been here a bunch of times, we used to come here when it was a different name. Overall the food is pretty good. Sometimes it's a little inconsistent though, like this time. The Mongolian beef was insanely salty, almost inedible you had to eat it with rice. It's not usually that salty though so it was definitely a fluke. House Crispy noodle is always good and it was good this time. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I know this place exceeds expectations. I was simply looking for a place with calamari and found my next dinner spot when I want a cozy meal. The calamari was flavorful in a way that it didn't taste like squid covered in flour and fried. The calamari had a nice savory flavor to it and my tastebuds appreciated the kick. I also ordered the house special chow mein. Again, not sure what I was expecting, but this dish was something different. There was a generous serving of each protein and the soy sauce was not overdone. I had to stop and remind myself I wanted to save some for my work lunch. Side note- these entrees definitely reheat well. I would say the only drawback was that I had ordered for pick-up and the food came out a little later than the expected pick-up time. With 4 dishes for the 3 of us, we liked pretty much everything we ordered and we had plenty to take home! The French style beef fillet, the meat was very tender, it was tasty and goes well with rice. When we ordered over of the vegetables, the server recommended something else more fresh, we appreciated that. We ended up ordering the Stirred fried Sprouts and it was excellent. We also ordered the Seafood with bean curds in clay pot, it was delicious with many kinds of seafood, the only thing is the clay pot was smaller other dishes. The only one that would probably not order again was House Special Squid. The dish was tasty with generous portions, the squids were fried and have the House sauce on top, generally, we prefer either non-fried, or fried without sauce on top as sauces makes the fried stuff less crunchy. Other favorites are honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, house special fish fillet, and french style beef fillet. The beef dish has so much flavor, and comes with tons of onions and mushrooms. Their orange chicken isn't in big chunks like other places, rather they're thinner and softer but still crispy. When I crave fish, I get their house special fish fillet which also has a nice crisp and saltiness. Service has always been friendly, and they even pack your leftovers themselves. Update after 3 years: Still buzzing with happiness! Since my first visit, I've brought coworkers, friends, family, and out-of-town guests--and every single one has enjoyed this spot. We've practically sampled the entire menu at this point, and I can honestly say I haven't had a terrible meal yet. The service is still solid, too--the core staff remains the same, which says a lot about the owner/manager and their commitment to quality. And speaking of quality, the food is just as good as ever. The place is a bit small and compact, but it feels bright and welcoming with its big glass windows letting in plenty of light. We were seated right away, even though there were already a few customers inside. Service was super friendly and fast. They set up our table right away, asked about drinks, and even brought peanuts while we checked out the menu. Food came out hot and surprisingly quick! We started with the chicken and cream corn soup, which was warm, creamy, and so comforting. My personal favorite was the French-style filet beef filet. It's very tender, flavorful, and perfect with their fried rice. Portion sizes are generous too, so it's great for sharing. The staff were really attentive and quick to help with anything we needed. The portion sizes are larger than most restaurants for the price. Honestly, if I had known we'd have so much left over, I would've ordered a few extra dishes just to try more of the menu. What I really appreciated was that the food wasn't overly salty or heavy on sodium. The flavors were clean, balanced, and still on point -- you're not having to drink water like a camel during or afterwards. The dining room was clean, the bathrooms well maintained, and the overall environment was comfortable. Service was I h appreciated: our waitress was very welcoming and accommodating, especially with the little kids in our group. Food came out promptly, even though I noticed plenty of pick-ups and to-go orders happening, plus a big catering order being prepared. I'll be comfortable dining solo or bringing a large group here. I found this spot driving through Artesia on Pioneer Blvd. The place looked promising specializing in Cantonese food and serves one of my favorite dishes, hainan chicken. I could not pass on the hainan chicken so I stop for a quick lunch. Their menu offers 1/2 or whole hainan chicken. Since it was only me, I ordered their 1/4 chicken plate for lunch. To my surprise, they served me bone-in steamed chicken that included chicken neck and wing. The rice was bland, hard and overcooked. The only redeeming items on the plate was the flavorful ginger and oil sauce and the pickled vegetables. Sadly, I was disappointed. The place is very casual with no frills Mom and Pop vibe. Service was mediocre and typical of most Chinese restaurants. I suspect their other food items on the menu are much better based on other reviews, but personally, I would not order the hainan chicken based on my experience. read more

Last two times, for one night it was booked for larger groups even though they had 2 tables open and groups outside. Found this place thanks to Yelp reviews and it definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant isn't very big though so be prepared to wait during peak times. Ordered the Green Pepper Beef, Sautéed Fish Filet with Garlic Sauce, and Pan Fried Crispy Noodles with Chicken. I loved that every dish wasn't too salty. I've found most Chinese restaurants use way too much MSG but this place had nice natural flavors. Service was quick and attentive and the overall feeling inside the restaurant was quiet and peaceful.
