Sushi station

Pan Asia Buffet is your typical asian buffet with lots of food options but at the end of the day, it's quantity over quality. Despite having so many options, the food was average at best. There is no shortage of options from the hibachi grill where you can make your own noodles, a grill station that has various cooked meats, the long display of various hot Chinese inspired entrees, a salad bar, a dessert bar, an ice cream station, a sushi section, and on Friday and Saturday nights you get extra seafood such as crab legs. Service is blunt and uninviting but at the end of the day, you get your own food so it didn't bother me as much. I wish they came by the tables more to ask about drink refills or to remove plates faster. They should clean their ice cream machine and topping stations which was pretty dirty. I felt the prices were a bit high given the quality at $26 for dinner (drink not included) and $2/year for kids. Not sure if I'd return again...

Pan Asia Buffet is located on Center Dr in San Marcos. We have been coming here for many years now w the in laws. Got here at 8pm on a Saturday and the place was super packed!! We were seated at the only vacant table. The food lines were crazy long, but I think the issue is the layout. This buffet is old and probably needs remodeling to accommodate the amount of people when it's a full house like last Saturday. Food was good. I love that they had pre-grilled steak. I actually enjoyed the soft and tender steak and had so much of it. They also had grilled chicken breast, and the mushroom chicken was also made w white meat. They have a hibachi grill which i did not get to try since the line to that was also ridiculously long!! Desserts were good. We really liked the mango mousse cake and the mini bundt cake. Pineapple and strawberries were fresh and sweet. Service was extremely slow. I get that they were a full house so the servers were running around, but we had to go up to the front counter to have them call someone to refill our drinks. Overall, good buffet. It just gets crazy packed in there, but is an indicator of how good the food is.

Cookies were hard and dry.

Took mom to the Carlsbad Flower Fields and afterwards Yelped a Chinese buffet because that what mom likes. This place came up. Reviews seem decent and I always give a benefit of the doubt when it comes to buffets. It was noon on a Saturday and the price was $20. That should have been a red flag. $20 for a Saturday? There was a decent amount of people though. However, the food was bad and the variety of food sucked. No corn. No baos. No warm crawfish (they had cold ones). No sesame balls. Whatever they did have was rubbery, fishy and old tasting. Desserts were dry and stale tasting. What was good? Orange jello and cream cheese wontons. They were good about clearing the plates.

Seafood and so much more!!! YUMMMMM!!!

Food? Well there's more than you can imagine, including a Korean barbeque! Everything from the soup and salad bar to the Asian delights, and the home cooking items you might expect. Finish with the ice cream dispenser and dessert bar, and you are satisfied nummro uno!!! The service is right on and the place is clean and spacious. It's a monthly destination for me!!!

Great food options, lots of different things! Seated very quickly and easily, they took drink orders and cleared plates very promptly. It was a little noisy and chaotic as any buffet place was, but they had great fresh seafood and sushi options!

The foods are not bad but the lady who manage it and most of the servants are rude, they don't appreciate the customers. The atmosphere comparing to the other asian buffet in El Northe is not good.

I am the worst person to take to a buffet I will not get my moneys worth. But when your friends want to go you must join! We were seated right away and drinks order taken. Then we were off to the races. There is hibachi style grill station you just choose all your items. And the chef will cook it for you. Grilled foods station, sushi, soups, hot foods, salads, and then desserts. Including a chocolate fountain and soft serve ice cream. The selection was a good mix of different cuisines. Don't think the food was kid friendly. No French fries or nuggets. The sushi was a ok don't expect omikase level sushi. Salt and pepper shrimp was really good. Orange chicken and chow mein was good. It was $20 per person on a Saturday afternoon no crab legs until later. Overall for a buffet it was not bad at all. The servers were very attentive and kept track of tabs. Probably won't be running back anytime soon.

I thought the rolls were bland despite them being a combo of good ingredients or sauced up (crunch salmon and the dynamite roll). The best thing was the baked dynamite roll. Maybe I'm a bit biased but if the best thing at sushi place includes baked cheese, it's not giving quality ingredients or talent for the cuisine category. The biggest letdown was my sushi plate. The fish didn't have much flavor and the texture was off. It almost seemed like someone rinsed the pieces of fish thoroughly under cold water. Also the 3 salads it came with were NOT fresh tasting and you could tell they'd been sitting all day (and not in a 'oh it marinating' good way). Service was also lacking, but it was a busy Saturday night. The ambiance is a 10 out of 10. I'll give it that. Plus they had plum wine which not many places do, and my mother in law loves.

Coincidentally, if you're still naive enough to believe in that sort of thing, was the night the family ate at LOVE BOAT SUSHI and my grandson's birthday. we sat outside to accommodate a party of nine there to celebrate the thirteenth anniversary of Benjamin's birth. that's a nod to my late father who ALWAYS insisted on making the distinction between anniversary (which happens every year) and the actual day of birth (which happens only once). as you would reasonably assume from the photos (and AWOL are an additional eight or ten items), to paraphrase a line from my favorite Muppet movie, dinner in this restaurant costs the same as a new Buick. hey, I read it in the Wall Street Journal -- it must be true. service and food were both five stars. happy birthday, Benjamin. ps: not sure why only ten of the nineteen photos attached to the footer of my review since they ALL posted. does Yelp have a cutoff of ten?

I was hoping to find a new go-to spot, but I'll keep looking.

The edamame was equally ad and tasty but actually lacking in salt. However, the beans were cooked perfectly. They were soft and the garlic was cooked nicely as well, i.e. not burned and very soft. I had the spicy tuna salad. I was feeling full when it arrived but I had to finish every last bite because it was so good. They have lunch specials. Two people in my party ordered lunch specials. One lunch special head four pieces of each roll containing four separate rolls. I don't remember exactly what the rolls were called but all was a total of 16 pieces for $25. It is a great deal. The other lunch special was a bento box with bbq short ribs for $15 and it was enjoyed very much. A nice bowl of tabu soup accompanied the bento box and was equally ad satisfying. The 4 th member of our party ordered a red dragon roll but ended up receiving a black dragon roll instead. She dove into the dragon roll with excitement and didn't realize she was eating unagi (eel). She gave me a piece of the role and it was very good. It will definitely be something I order when we go againm The wasabi wasn't very spicy. I'm wondering if it is actual true wasabi. The pickled ginger was mild and tasted like it was made in house. It was very good. They have a Temecula location now in Old Town which is not on Yelp at this time. I recommend that you go there if you live in the area. The only real disappointment was s surprise 3% cost of goods surcharge that arrived on our bills. Really, I think it's not such a great idea to tell patrons you're charging them extra just because you have to pay extra for a few ingredients. It should be rolled over into the price of the meal if anything. Nobody wants to see something like that on their bill. Despite this strange surcharge surprise we will still be coming back and probably quite often as we have already put a new date to go on our calendars. A really nice surprise was that when we received the dishes they basically looked exactly like the photos on the menu. That is something you rarely see in other restaurants. It was quite impressive. Do eat here or the new one in Old Town Temecula. The menu in both places is exactly the same. You won't be disappointed.
