Hooray to another great Indian buffet in North County! A nice casual restaurant in the Nordahl shopping complex right off of the 78 freeway. My husband and I were staying at a local resort and looking for food late night, and we ended up finding this place. WHAT A GEM!! The fish and chicken tikka masala were so flavorful and they are generous with portion sizes. Also highly recommend the samosas and garlic naan! They offer a free glass of wine or mango lassi after 9 pm, which was such a nice touch. Gurjab was our server and he was such a vibe, super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Great India buffet! I very good variety of yummy food! There's always something different when I eat here. I like how they have mango lassi and chai for an option to drink. They have tiny cups for you to try it. Which is understandable. Service is pretty friendly. I definitely get super full with just the first plate. My favorite that day was the chicken curry, the veggie, tandoori chicken, lamp curry, naan, and chips. Pretty spacious restaurant. Great for groups, couples, or by one's self. read more

I love this place! It's probably my favorite Indian restaurant. I had the shrimp tikka masala and it was so delicious! I got an 8 on the heat scale (1-10) so it was spicy but not inedible, it actually enhanced the flavors because I love spicy food! I also ordered the garlic naan which paired really well with my curry. You get 4 fresh pieces. I ate so much but I still had leftovers to take home. Great portion sizes! In addition, I had the sweet lassi and this was pretty good too! The customer service was excellent! Sidhu and the other worker did an excellent job with the timing, efficiency, and friendly customer service! The prices were good too! It was definitely enough for two people. The restaurant is casual but nice. You can take friends and family here and they'll be able to accommodate you. FYI: On the weekends they also have a buffet. The last time I came to Curry Craft was probably within a couple years of the pandemic, but I remember it was a great location. Coming back again, and I can still stand by the fact they are one of my go to spots for Indian curry. Staff is friendly and helpful, restaurant is clean and spacious. Another perk, they are one of the few locations for late night food runs, open as late as midnight!! One of the biggest differences since coming here is they have a buffet option that was pretty reasonable buffet for lunch and dinner between $17-20/person with available add ons for beverage and naan choices. I was so excited to get my food I forgot to take a picture.... I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan to go. The bowl of butter chicken was securely wrapped in Saran Wrap to keep everything safe, but be warned, the bowl is extremely hot!! Portions are great for the price and very filling. The food was well balanced and thankfully not too spicy for the mild spice level. read more

Solid Indian buffet price for lunch and dinner. When we came in I thought the service was a 2/5 because the heater was on during dinner time and it was so stuffy and the waiter seemed inattentive. She didn't really tell us where to sit or if we needed high chairs for our two girls. Within around 5 minutes though, the AC was on. The waiter checked on us and the buffet was solid. My husband said it was a 5/5. I give it a 4/5 for the menu selection and lack of direction or any dietary warnings (milk or any other ingredients used). Love that it comes with chai tea and the garlic naan was a 5/5. For the price, it's really good especially in the North County area. read more

Got the buffet and the food was hot and ready when we walked in! Started with salad and worked our way to the appetizers. After got a little bit of everything mixed in with rice and they provided some fresh naan bread to our table when we were seated. Love that we get to have our own pitcher of water for our own table. Wow! I've been to a lot of Indian food buffets in my life, and I do believe this is my favorite! I had the Monday lunch buffet for a very reasonable $18 plus tax and tip. The place is very clean. The staff are polite and efficient. The buffet line is beautifully laid out and kept clean and stocked. They have both metal and porcelain plates, but unfortunately use styrofoam for their chai and paper bowls for the kheer. The salad is the best I've had, not the usual iceberg lettuce and a few cucumbers, but green lettuce and a variety of extras. They put a pitcher of water on your table so you don't run out. The food was all done perfectly. They bring out fresh garlic naan made to order. There was the usual Bollywood playing with commercials on the TV. read more

Came here because my regular Indian buffet is not open on Monday. I think I found my new regular Indian place. It's a bit of a drive from my house, but it's so good it's worth the drive. They don't have a huge selection of food, but whatever they have to offer, it's all delicious! I especially enjoy tandoori chicken. It's surprisingly tender. The server was attentive but not overbearing. He didn't hover but was always available when we needed him. The one thing that pushed it over for me was the chai masala. I've never been to an Indian buffet that included chai. I'm a sucker for chai masala. It was SOOOOOO good! I try to make it ay home myself but can get never get it right. I am addicted to their chicken tikka masala. Such amazing flavor. Juicy chicken cooked perfectly. Great with the garlicky naan. I really liked how friendly and pleasant the girl was who took my order. The music videos playing on their tv inside was a fun and entertaining touch. I got the buffet option for $18.99 and $1 for garlic naan. I never had mushroom masala there and I think about it every night since I've had it. Very good salad option to get that fiber before your curry rice carb loaded meal. Love this spot. Service was nice and place had plenty of seating. read more

Eating here yet again and it never disappoints. Even at night when some people think the food isn't fresh... WELL IT IS The service here is just amazing and I've become a regular they remember me. My family have been going to curry craft in San Marcos since they opened and supported them all through Covid until now. We have always had good food in there until today. The curries I got tonight were bland and seemed to be watered down. Not sure after today if I will continue to support this business or not. Maybe time to find a different curry restaurant to spend my money. read more

The food was excellent, we ordered garlic naan, chicken curry, and saag paneer and it was all very delicious. The service was top notch, they were able to answer all of our questions, which can be a lot sometimes because of a nut allergy and we're super friendly but not hovering. The music is at a good level that you can talk to your group without overhearing much of others conversations but also not being deafened. I especially love the artwork and decoration, I commented on it and was told that the owner's wife did all of it, so definitely look at everything while you're here. 10/10 read more

Last night I ordered some food to go, and figured I'd take a chance. Glad I did! I ordered the Shrimp Tikka Masala, and garlic naan. The food was good! The food was well worth what I paid, and the gentleman helping was very pleasant not only to me, but to everyone who walked into the door. I found a great Indian restaurant in town. Have been here a handful of time during their lunch buffet and have always left happy. The price is very reasonable for all you can eat Indian food. They have a small "salad bar" section and then about 8 dishes to pick from for your main meal. They have had samosas, butter chicken, tiki masala, curry chicken, vegetable korma, dishes with mushrooms and peas, different kinds of rice. They also provide garlic or plain naan along with a tea. Their bathrooms are always clean and the service is pretty non existent, but its a buffet for an amazing price and great food. read more

Sucks most restaurants close by 9pm but because that was the case, we found out this place is open till 12am and they give you a free glass of wine if you come after 9pm. For an Indian lunch buffet this hands down the best in SD or I'll even say the best south of Artesia. I grew up with Indian food so I'll know right away if they offer more authentic dishes other than the usual stuff. Regardless they were nice. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend it? No. $60 for two adults $9 for my 4 yr old and $5 for my two yr old. So basically $80 for a family of 4 for cold food. The original from Nepel is fire roasted buffalo meat (If I dont remember wrong) and is very spicy. I really appreciate he explained it. The portion is very generous. I ate half of the dish and kept another half for the next meal. The brown rice! Oh my...the rice is not soggy and it's legit not boxed frozen rice to me. I had been to other asian restaurants that the rice wasn't cooked good or its frozen rice. I recommend to give a try :) I am a newbie of Indian/ Himalayan food.

That was [insert ridiculously large number here] years ago. There used to be Shakey's locations everywhere. If you played sports as a kid way back when, your team went to Shakey's to celebrate a win. Or you drowned your sorrows in pitchers of Coke or Root Beer after a loss. The location in Escondido is massive. The main dining room is humongous and they even have a nice video game room. The pizza is about on par with Pizza Hut quality and that's fine with most people, especially if you have young kids. And, of course, what visit to Shakey's is complete without some Mojo Potatoes? Basically, they are well-seasoned thick potato slices. I like them and there's also some added nostalgic value there. On the negative side, our food took forever to make which was a bit of a drag. Also, there were multiple uncleaned tables on a Saturday night that remained uncleaned during our entire visit. My guess is the restaurant was short-staffed (both front and back of house) which doesn't make a lot of sense on a busy Saturday night. They've got beer and a salad bar (now that's a real unicorn these days) and you can even get anchovies on your pizza (save your hate, they're good). They also have TVs everywhere so if there is sports being played somewhere, this is the place to watch it. I probably wouldn't return for the pizza and certainly not for the dirty tables. The Mojos are solid and if you have young children, are looking to catch a game, or if you want some decent nostalgia, it's worth a visit. Bonus points if you come dressed in your old Little League uniform.

I love the dressing they use on the salad, I could eat a whole bowl of the stuff. The salad had a lot of cucumber, cut in big chunks, which is how i like it. The bread is enough for 2 people at least, so i would keep that in mind. 2 of us shared it and we still had some left over that we couldn't finish. The portions in general are very big, for me it was enough to dance leftovers of everything except the salad. I think this is a must to try if you live nearby, or even if you are just in the area, i don't think you will be disappointed.

Trying Indian food for the first time was an experience I didn't know I was missing out on. We decided to order a few popular dishes to get a good introduction to the cuisine: butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. The butter chicken was easily one of the highlights. The sauce was incredibly creamy and rich, with a perfect balance of spices that weren't too overwhelming for someone new to Indian food. The chicken was tender and soaked up all the flavor from the sauce, making every bite really satisfying. The chicken tikka masala had a similar comforting feel but with a slightly deeper, smokier flavor. The tomato-based sauce had a nice spice to it and paired perfectly with the grilled chicken pieces. It felt hearty and flavorful without being too spicy. What really tied everything together was the garlic naan. It came out warm, soft, and buttery with just the right amount of garlic. Dipping the naan into both sauces made the whole meal even better. It was honestly one of the best parts of the meal. Overall, trying Indian food for the first time was a great experience.
