We also got a surpreme pizza, which was still tasty, but wish we would've gotten a second Indian-fusion pizza instead. Never ever getting Indo-Chinese food from here again! Ordered Manchurian, noodles, momos, and manchow soup today, and except for the noodles, everything was stale and smelly. The momos weren't fully cooked, and the food had the strong smell of old, bad oil, it was horrible! I just hope they don't ruin their pizza quality too. read more

I'm no expert in Indian-inspired pizza but we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the food. We are not from the area but was nearby and craving pizza, this looked the most appealing from photos. Located in a quiet plaza (at least on a Sunday afternoon) with plenty of parking. The shop is small with very limited seating. We ordered two 14" pizzas - the butter chicken that was most recommended by staff and the saag paneer. Both were packed with flavor and had a nice thin and crispy crust. We all liked the saag a tad more because it was brighter and lighter. I also had a mango lassi and it paired perfectly with the food - not too sweet and not too thick. We shared one order of samosas (comes with 2) and my goodness, the sauces were bomb. I wanted to drink them. Portions were very fair for the price as well. The two pizzas we got were enough to serve 6 (and maybe more depending on how much you eat). I'm very glad we chose to try this place and I hope it attracts more attention! read more

My friends and I figured that pizza was the easiest thing for a group, and since we didn't really feel like going to a chain shop, we just looked on yelp to see what was nearby. This place came up, and we were down to try something new. We walked in and there's just a counter right at the door, so it's definitely a place where you just order and take it out. There are tables outside if you do want to sit down to eat right then and there, but it won't be ideal especially when it's raining. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Pizza and a Butter Chicken Pizza, both mediums ($24 each) at 14". The pizzas took about 20-25 minutes so we walked around the plaza for a bit and came back to pick them up. The pizzas were piping hot right when we got them. You could definitely smell the chicken tikka and the butter chicken as soon as you open the box and it really filled up the car. Personally I liked the Chicken Tikka more than the butter chicken, only because it had a little bit of spice to it so it had some kick that they butter chicken was missing. I believe the chicken tikka is the one with the darker sauce, so it also had a bit more earthy flavor profile to it. Both pizzas were still very good in their own way though. I'm glad that we found this place by chance. It's a unique concept to put Indian dishes on pizza but it really works! We're never going back to a chain pizza store again since we've found this one now. read more

I want to start by saying I don't like to leave bad reviews because I want our local restaurants to succeed. My partner was excited to try this place since we drive by it everyday. He got the butter chicken pizza, and I got the supreme pizza. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed a very off putting smell. I think I may have been over charged, but I wasn't offered a receipt so I can't be totally sure. His butter chicken pizza was fine, but my supreme pizza was awful. The ham was literally inedible! It tasted very bad and kind of disintegrated in my mouth. I picked it all off but every bite I took where ham was still tasted terrible (my partner described the taste as stale foot). I ate one slice of pizza and was disgusted. We won't be back and I don't recommend getting a non-Indian style pizza. read more

Instead of rice, we got French fries and instead of a house salad, we got a mixture of different vegetables such as slices of red onion, peppers, and slices of tomatoes with lemon wedges. I had an absolutely terrible experience at TIKKA Pizza Kitchen -- and it was my first (and last) visit. I called ahead to order a pizza for pickup and had a very cold, uninterested interaction over the phone. I then drove 5 miles to the restaurant, only to be told when I arrived that they were cash only because their system was down. When I asked why they didn't mention this over the phone, the woman at the front desk said they were "working on fixing it" -- but clearly, it hadn't been fixed, and they're still not bothering to inform customers ahead of time. I wasn't the only one either -- two other customers showed up right after me and had the exact same issue. To make things worse, the woman at the front desk couldn't have cared less. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience -- just a complete lack of customer service. She even told me that my pizza had already been made and insisted I needed to pay for it... despite the fact that they had no way to take card payments and I didn't have cash. The entire atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. The restaurant itself looked like it was barely open. At one point, the woman at the counter literally poked her head around the corner, saw me standing there, and walked away for five minutes before finally coming back to ask what I needed -- as if she hadn't already spoken to me. To top it all off, after I left and went to order from a different pizza place nearby, the same woman actually chased me and another customer outside asking for payment -- for a pizza I never even got because they couldn't process my card. This was hands down one of the most awkward and frustrating experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. There was zero communication, zero accountability, and absolutely no effort to make things right. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We have been wanting to visit Tikka Pizza Kitchen for a long time because we love Indian food and we enjoy Pizza. When we pulled up outside we weren't sure if it was open because the glass is dark and there was a bunch of stacked furniture outside. The guy who served us was polite and gave us a couple of recommendations which we chose all three. The kitchen looks messy and unorganized which sort of put us off, but our pizzas came out quickly and were piping hot. In the car ride home the aroma was amazing. We loved the Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken, both were hot and delicious. The Paneer was good, but we didn't like the added ricotta cheese, it would have been better with just Paneer. We are not big pizza eaters but after talking about this place for a year ( previously went to their full service place in San Marcos now closed) tonight was the night. We ordered what we thought was a pepperoni and mushroom calzone and a small Saag and paneer pizza. The calzone delivered actually was a pizza, oh well mistake. But same thing just not folded and I think larger. They were both fresh and tasty with quality toppings. My pizza the Indian style, had green pepper on it which I did not expect but it was fine. It had great flavor,with saag, cilantro, cheese and paneer. If I ordered this again, I might ask for no peppers, but more saag. My husband had the pepperoni and mushroom. Again, fresh sliced mushrooms not slimy canned ones. Great crust, with a nice chew and crunch. The Indian items are what I am most interested as there are no Indian places in Escondido. I have had both the Indian inspired and standard American toppings, and both were good. Crust is nice and everything reheats well. After many pies, finally also tried some noodle and rice dishes as well, but found them lacking in many ways. Only detectable flavors were chili on the rice and something anise-adjacent on the noodles; otherwise both dishes were greasy and bland, as well as super overcooked and dry. But I honestly didn't feel like the flavors were what they claimed - . I didnt feel i was eating a butter chicken pizza or a chicken chettinad pizza. - whatever the flavors were, they were yummy but if youre looking for a butter chicken or chettinad chicken then it might not hit the mark - especially now that there are a coupla places in San Diego area that can deliver this better in my opinion. Another thing - I think neither of these two pizza should have bell peppers in them. So all in all - the pizza would be delicious, but its one of those - "whatever this is, is yummy but its not what it claims to be" category things. read more

An Indian fusion with Italian pizza?! Count me in! When I found this place over quarantine, I was surprised at the combination of cultures fused into one. I actually stumbled upon this place during the days when we could only DoorDash food, and I was looking for different pizza places in the area. I'm really glad that I decided to try this place because it's REALLY good! I'm a huge fan of Indian food and pizza, so what better way to combine your favorite curry dishes onto toppings of a pizza. The first time I ordered from here, I got the Chicken Tikka Pizza because it seemed popular. I did not regret that choice because it still came fresh, hot and delicious! The flavors just explode in your mouth and gave both my fiance and I an utter surprise. We've been fans ever since, and have came back 2 more times afterwards. The other pizzas we've tried were the: Paneer Chicken Tikka Pizza and the Butter Chicken Pizza. Both fantastic flavors, and one time we even got to meet the owner and he explained that you can actually adjust the spiciness level on your pizza. We tried a spicier pizza for the Butter Chicken (3/5 Medium spiciness level) and it was pretty spicy! We will always go back here whenever we're craving a fun and unique pizza day. read more

Great service. I ordered the Saag Paneer + Ricotta Large Pizza and the Butter Chicken Large Pizza. Got $5 Mango Lassi & $5 Rose Lassi to enjoy in the car while waiting for my order. They called my phone telling me to come back once everything was ready. The rose lassi looked like strawberry milk but tasted like a very flowery version. Had the consistency of Mango Lassi but tasted like SereniTea San Marcos's Rose Milk Tea. It was a nice sweet treat. I personally looooooved the Mango Lassi. Tasted way better than most I've had. My partner and I really enjoyed the pizza. It was pretty thin and floppy. My partner got to fold his slice like he likes to and devoured half the butter chicken large pizza by the time I finished one slice. I eat slower from picking off onions and cilantro pieces. But the pizza was so good I enjoyed my slices even if I wasn't able to pick everything off. It seems like most pizzas get green peppers, chopped onion, and finely chopped cilantro sprinkled on top by default. I'll be sure to keep that in mind the next time I come back. I don't like onions or cilantro But oh yes I loved the pizzas. Definitely impressed by my first visit to Tikka Pizza. I undeniably see myself coming back and craving this. read more

I had a tandoori pizza chicken when I was in Kathmandu, That was twenty years ago and I have been thinking about it ever since. They did a great job with a fusion of the Indian subcontinent flavors on a traditional pizza. We had a Butter chicken and a Saag Paneer Pizza. We opted to get two larges for four of us, and we had an entire pizza to take is after our meal. I will recommend that you do take away (get it to go). There is no inside seating. There is one table outside with four chairs. You are immediately adjacent to Center City Parkway, so it is not quiet. We took it over to Felicita Park and enjoyed the shade and quiet. The person who answered the phone initially and helped us has very limited English skills, but was very friendly. Be a little bit patient is and you will be rewarded. I'm so happy to talk about this place. After it's grand opening my girlfriend and I were like "Huh, Tikka Pizza, we should try it at some point." And then didn't for like... a year or something. But we always saw it in passing and so we finally decided to give it a shot. And oh. My. God. Tikka Pizza is a kickass place that makes incredible food and I'm sad to see that on a Friday night they weren't super busy, this place deserves way more business and I'd hate to see them go, so please don't let them. Firstoff the restaurant itself definitely had a hole-in-the-wall sort of style itself, it was a register desk, a refrigerator and a church pew off to the side. I love places like this because you KNOW the food is about to blow your mind. The people behind the counter were some of the friendliest I've ever met and you can tell they absolutely take pride in their service as well as their food. I'm sad I didn't get either of their names so I can't give anyone a particular shoutout, but both were very warm and welcoming. I will say the price is a bit steep, I'm used to paying a little more for Gourmet Pizza but I felt like $32 for a large pizza was just a bit much and might discourage frequent visits. I'm not sure exactly what all goes into factoring price, especially with inflation going insane right now, but was it worth the money? YES. ABSOLUTELY. As soon as I got the pizza into my car I was immediately overwhelmed with the rich scents of the curry and the freshness of the ingredients was apparent as well. Literally couldn't wait to get home to try it out, I wasn't sure how curry on pizza was gonna go especially with cheese but biting into it was absolute paradise for a savory food lover like myself. You can taste every ingredient individually and how well they blend together as you chew, texture experience was also incredible as its reminiscent of your typical pizza but also completely unique in its own way. I took a picture of our pizza, and even though I think it's a good one I don't think it does it justice. Y'all - I've waited TOO LONG to tell you about my amazing find in Escondido! Tikka Pizza Kitchen offers vegan versions of 10 (yes,TEN!) of their innovative INDIAN FOOD PIZZAS on pizza-shaped NAAN dough!! My absolute favorite is their "Saag Paneer" Pizza (my all-time favorite Indian dish that I've missed altogether since becoming vegan - we're talking A LONG TIME!!!) What they do is sub out vegan cheese and add well-seasoned firm tofu cubes that pretty darn well approximate the paneer - it's orgasmic!!!! Why I say I've waited too long is because it took me FIVE TRIES of calling in the last few weeks and them not having the tofu to find out that I have been the ONLY VEGAN CUSTOMER ORDERING FROM THEM FOR A YEAR!!!!! We cannot allow this delicious resource to disappear. I told them (after they finally special ordered their vegan ingredients for me) that I would get our community to come out and support them so they keep making these epic pies for us... So consider yourself informed! There's only a couple of outdoor tables at this location on Felicitas. It's really for take out... They also have a store I've not been to - in San Diego on Miramar Road. Shout out to Rani for making this happen for me last night... I took the pic - and dove in - in the car - I couldn't wait!!!!!! **The ONLY thing that would make it better is if the Escondido store was a larger venue with a nice dine-in option.
