I found this place while charging my Tesla. At first I thought it was closed. When I walked in the tight quarters I saw no pizza display. The wife was the first to say something as to what I wanted. I just wanted a couple of slices and a soda. Apparently the pizza is kept warm in an oven out of sight. You get 2 choices. Plain or pepperoni They were made available within a minute. It was fine. Kinda small like a domino's slice. (Actually she only gave me one). The husband and son were there as well, but they were out to lunch so to speak. The husband just sat there watching a silent tv with a Yule Brenner western. He's definitely checked out. What he could be doing is cleaning the place. Quite dirty along the walls. The son (around 30) obviously did not want to be there. He was in and out making cell phone calls. I don't get the impression he's taking over in the future. Oh, I guess the husband was taking phone orders, but then right back to Yule. I get the sense this place has been around a long time. But now they are tired. The place, the atmosphere, the food all reflect that. I feel sad. read more

It's a family little shop, there were sweet husband and wife still running it, they have photos from the 90's when they just opened, and their pizza tastes just like Italian!! I needed quick bites for kids while supercharging my car and only got 2 cheese and 2 pepperoni slices! After I tried I regret only taking so little. Pepperoni pieces were thinly sliced and tasted better than any local pizzas and cheese actually is thick and not fatty, crust was extra crunchy, I'm obsessed. read more

This place is a gem of a local business. They're always polite and professional on the phone (and ALWAYS confirm you understand they're in Escondido because I guess there's a Roccos somewhere else in North County). The prices are fair, honestly they're generally cheaper or at least on par with whatever pizza chains having a sale. They're not stingy with the toppings. I've seen they have a table or two in the place but I would be more inclined to use the takeout (or delivery if that's your thing) as it's just a pizza kitchen, register, and that small lobby. If you're looking for a place that isn't a chain this is a great location to try. read more

This place is small, with only 10(2 seat) tables, only reason for four stars. I ordered two sandwiches, chips and drinks for $18.25. Cheaper than most places. My turkey sandwich was delicious on a hot toasted roll. Employees nice and helpful. I recommend this place and will be a returning customer. read more

I'm from Jersey, where some of the best Italian food can be found. Oh, I just felt so excited being in there seeing that it was a little mom and pop pizzeria. I got the Italian meatball sandwich, with no cheese, and I heard the lady on the phone talking about cannolis and so yes I ordered one. The meatball sandwich is just what I expected. The meatballs have a nice flavor. The sauce is good and the bread is perfect. And the cannoli is ... heaven to me I asked about their pizza, because where I come from we love the thin crust where we can fold a slice in half as we go to eat it and I was told yes just order the thin sliced pizza. I'm so happy to have found Rocco's Pizza, it's one of the only pizza places near Escondido/ San Marcos that opens before 11am. Their quality of food is great and they have amazing deals! A large pizza + a 1L soda was less than $30 and it was able to feed 4 adults and a small child. Can't wait to continue to support this family business. Linda is amazing!
