I found this place while charging my Tesla. At first I thought it was closed. When I walked in the tight quarters I saw no pizza display. The wife was the first to say something as to what I wanted. I just wanted a couple of slices and a soda. Apparently the pizza is kept warm in an oven out of sight. You get 2 choices. Plain or pepperoni They were made available within a minute. It was fine. Kinda small like a domino's slice. (Actually she only gave me one). The husband and son were there as well, but they were out to lunch so to speak. The husband just sat there watching a silent tv with a Yule Brenner western. He's definitely checked out. What he could be doing is cleaning the place. Quite dirty along the walls. The son (around 30) obviously did not want to be there. He was in and out making cell phone calls. I don't get the impression he's taking over in the future. Oh, I guess the husband was taking phone orders, but then right back to Yule. I get the sense this place has been around a long time. But now they are tired. The place, the atmosphere, the food all reflect that. I feel sad. read more

It's a family little shop, there were sweet husband and wife still running it, they have photos from the 90's when they just opened, and their pizza tastes just like Italian!! I needed quick bites for kids while supercharging my car and only got 2 cheese and 2 pepperoni slices! After I tried I regret only taking so little. Pepperoni pieces were thinly sliced and tasted better than any local pizzas and cheese actually is thick and not fatty, crust was extra crunchy, I'm obsessed. read more

Mary and Marco are incredible. Truly loving, family oriented, connectable, and genuinely hospitable people. Over time, they have honestly become like family to us, and you feel that the moment you walk in. This is a small hole in the wall pizza shop in the best way possible. If you're looking for great pizza and even better people, give them a try. The pizza is delicious, the service is just as good, and everything about the experience feels welcoming and real. Nothing but love for this place and the people who run it. read more

We love the pepperoni pizza with the delicious garlic knots! This place is locally family owned so we love to support them. They're always so kind and friendly to us. Highly recommend! read more

This place is a gem of a local business. They're always polite and professional on the phone (and ALWAYS confirm you understand they're in Escondido because I guess there's a Roccos somewhere else in North County). The prices are fair, honestly they're generally cheaper or at least on par with whatever pizza chains having a sale. They're not stingy with the toppings. I've seen they have a table or two in the place but I would be more inclined to use the takeout (or delivery if that's your thing) as it's just a pizza kitchen, register, and that small lobby. If you're looking for a place that isn't a chain this is a great location to try. read more

We have been ordering Lg. Sunny Deluxe Pizza with jalapeños and extra cheese and have been very happy with this unique style of pie. Usually there is only one lady doing all work from taking the money to making the pies. We are happy that we have a local place to help support. read more

Been coming to Rocco's since I was a kid! This pizza is filled with memorizes of birthdays and family get togethers. Our usual order is 2 giant pizzas, wings and my dad would always grab me 2 cookies! I've felt nothing but welcome every time I stepped foot in this place. The lady behind the counter is one of the kindest people I've ever encountered. This place is a 10/10 and will forever be my favorite pizza. read more

This is incredible. Just incredible. The food was delicate, with stringy cheese, delicious crust, and utterly appealing bread texture. As it melted on my tongue, amazing my taste buds, I looked around the room, enduring the mood. A welcoming and inviting layout, with inviting people, and happiness in the Italian- cultured air, Rocco's employees can't help but smile when you appear. As they greet you and serve your delicious food, you can't help but love their contribution to a wonderful night at Rocco's Pizza. Thank you for such a beautiful experience! read more

I'm from Jersey, where some of the best Italian food can be found. Oh, I just felt so excited being in there seeing that it was a little mom and pop pizzeria. I got the Italian meatball sandwich, with no cheese, and I heard the lady on the phone talking about cannolis and so yes I ordered one. The meatball sandwich is just what I expected. The meatballs have a nice flavor. The sauce is good and the bread is perfect. And the cannoli is ... heaven to me I asked about their pizza, because where I come from we love the thin crust where we can fold a slice in half as we go to eat it and I was told yes just order the thin sliced pizza. I can't wait to have one of their pizzas. But from what I had today I am in love with Rocco's pizza, and this is my new joint for Italian food in Escondido. read more

I'm so happy to have found Rocco's Pizza, it's one of the only pizza places near Escondido/ San Marcos that opens before 11am. Their quality of food is great and they have amazing deals! A large pizza + a 1L soda was less than $30 and it was able to feed 4 adults and a small child. Can't wait to continue to support this family business. Linda is amazing! I was looking for a big pizza !! What I got was a big greasy mistake !!! Don't get me wrong I love a pizza that is juicy. But this was over the top non-professional The pizza had very little flavor, even with fresh garlic and jalapeño in the jalapeño was not even spicy The pizza toppings didn't even go all the way to the edge If you're looking for a pizza that you must eat with a knife and fork and spoon it onto a plate. This is perfect. But I was looking for a normal American pizza in which I can also feed an elderly person, and it turned into a mess !! read more

Rocco's is thee premier pizza for Escondido and the surrounding area. Been going here for 20 years at least. The owners are the nicest people in the world and truly have the best customer service around. They remember me even with my mask on. Great local pizza place! I ordered ahead of time for a party and it was very easy to place the order. Extra kudos for the attention to detail.
