I came here for seafood, specifically their Oyster Rockefeller, because I haven't had it in decades. It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, along with foie gras, bone marrow, head cheese, suckling pig, and more. I was happily surprised to discover it's located across the street from my favorite studio, Mr. Inkwell's Classic Tattoo & Piercing. I guess I didn't pay close attention when I mapped out directions--a real downside of relying on GPS these days. I remember when I used to memorize streets, locations, and directions every time I visited a new place or traveled. Anyway, I digress. The place is fancy and spacious, with a market out front, divided into three or four sections: the bar stools right in front of the bar, the bar seating area, the main dining space, and an enclosed patio. The employees all looked experienced and mature, like they had been there for more than a decade. The three hostesses at the front were younger. After looking at the menu, I decided to start with their peach puff pastry topped with vanilla bean ice cream. When a dessert catches my eye, I often prefer to indulge in it first because I might be full afterward. It didn't disappoint. I took my time, savoring every bite. The freshly cut peaches had a nice bite, while the puff pastry was crunchy and flaky, with its very tasty cream. The vanilla bean ice cream was simply delightful. After finishing, I didn't want to spoil the high from such an amazing dessert, so I decided to take the oysters home. It's half a dozen. Presentation-wise, they're a bit underwhelming compared to previous ones I've had. And just so you know, I used to work part-time as a server at an upscale American restaurant at the top of a fancy old hotel in Long Beach, at a well-known authentic Italian pizza place in San Diego, at a small Korean bar in Torrance, at a family-owned Filipino restaurant, and at a Japanese fast-food chain, among others. Even with a full-time 8-5 corporate job, I still worked part-time as a server, dining host, and karaoke hostess. My three favorite pastimes are enjoying delicious food, meeting new people, and discovering new adventures. To continue, my biggest disappointment was that two of the six Oyster Rockefellers didn't contain any oysters at all! It's baffling how that could happen. Usually, Oyster Rockefeller looks bulky with build-up depth from the spinach, cheese, butter, and seasonings on top of the oysters themselves. But these looked dull and bland with a plain flat top. They also weren't that hot. It wasn't really appetizing. Two of them only had the adductor muscle (that round, fleshy part attached to the shell), which I actually love, by the way. So you see, I couldn't be mistaken, as I slurped the oysters only to taste the spinach, cheese, butter, and the little bitty meat muscle I had to scrape a little off the shell with a fork. There were definitely no chewy, soft, and tasty oysters. I hope it was just a simple mishap, especially for an upscale restaurant known for its seafood dishes. Hopefully, a member of management sees and reads this review and takes corrective action to ensure this never happens again. Please note that the usual price for great-tasting Oysters Rockefeller at a well-established restaurant is $30. This place charges $25, which makes me think twice. But then again, some of its dishes are priced a few dollars lower than most, except for the dessert, which costs a few dollars more at $15. However, I still enjoyed it so much that it doesn't matter to me. In life, there are always pros and cons when it comes to overall preferences. It is always up to you to try things yourself and not rely on someone else's opinion, which might prevent you from discovering new things. That said, I am willing to come back to try other dishes that look equally scrumptious and reasonably priced: Toodle-loo, my darling readers. Until next time.

This place legitimately deserves at least 1 star for the good customer service and plethora of food and dessert items. Our table was cleared of plates often, and our drinks were always replenished. That aside, however, my experience here was less than suitable. The quality of the food was mostly poor-not the way it was cooked or prepared, but in the general temperature of each item I sampled. Oddly, all the hot items had steam coming out from them. But that seemed to be merely for looks and was probably from the boiling water below each food counter, amplified by heat lamps. Even the freshest items coming out were room temperature at best. Some items obviously need to be kept cool, like the sushi, oysters, and other types of raw fish they served, so I understand it can be hard to entertain the needs of all entrees. Nevertheless, there is still major room for improvement. Additionally, the restaurant was cold and the AC was blasting, so this might've contributed to the lack of acceptable food temperature. I sampled their sushi, crawfish, oysters, tilapia, chow mein, their cheesy crab casserole, chicken drumsticks, multiple types of shrimp, multiple types of mussels, fried octopus, and clams to name a few. The items meant to be kept cold were okay. But even some cold items like the sushi were not fresh and tasted overly fishy. I went during a busy Saturday night, leading to a parking lot that was packed. And there ISN'T plenty of parking like another review mentioned. I was fortunate enough to snag 1 open parking spot semi near the entrance, but multiple vehicles behind me were circling the lot endlessly. What's more, the restaurant had a B rating. This is not your typical decent grade on an exam paper. Simple research shows this is indicative of potentially several things. "Common Reasons for a B Rating Pest issues: Finding signs of mice, rats, or insects. Temperature control: Failing to keep hot food hot or cold food cold. Sanitation habits: Poor handwashing or improper food handling. Maintenance lapses: Broken equipment, dirty surfaces, or missing ceiling tiles." I can note that other reviewers witnessed roaches in the bathroom, and while I didn't see anything like that I did experience dish temperature issues. I took several photos of the items they serve, and while they might look appealing in pictures, well... consumer beware. Eat at your own risk. The Blue Point and Fast Bastard were both very tasty. We also requested the complimentary sourdough bread, which is always a hit at TOFC. You don't get the bread automatically here; you'll have to ask for it. For my entrée, I ordered the "Off the Hook" New England Style Lobster Roll and substituted the fries for grilled asparagus. It also came with an arugula salad. Everything on the plate was delicious. The lobster was perfectly cooked and buttered, and the brioche was toasted. It's a coursed meal centered around sashimi platters (very unusual to see nigiri at these restaurants), and dishes made with rest of the fish that became sushi. It's sashimi with a lot of extra accoutrements you'd expect in a Korean restaurant. We started with porridge and miso soup, and lots of banchan, including cheesecorn and steamed egg. Then came the sashimi platter. In Korean sushi houses, you get to have soy sauce AND a gochujang based sauce (it's gochujan and vinegar). They also gave us sesame oil + salt and dried seaweed which I think is for the tuna. Then there was tokoyaki, fried rice cakes, tempura, spicy fish stew, grilled fish, fried salmon skin, fried chicken, and spicy marinated crab. All while getting refills on the banchan. It was exactly what I was wanting, as I have not found anything like it in Seattle! The staff was super friendly, and they had a lot of other items on the menu that I would love to try at some point in the future! Highly recommend!
