During our meal time, no one came over to ask how's everything or if we need anything. No one refilled our water and drinks. I had to stand up, walk over to the back and ask for refill... while our waiter was busy chatting with another waitress. After I got the check. Again, no one came to collect the payment. My favorite local go to spot when I'm craving shrimp boil. The flavors are delicious, I like the seasoning, the combo of garlic and spices compliments the shrimp perfectly. Bomb! Close in comparison to Boiling Crab. The 3 pound meal deal is such a good deal! You get 2 appetizers included. Between 3 of us it was the perfect amount of food. I forgot to snap a pic of the wings but I HIGHLY recommend. I got both bbq and buffalo, my favorite was definitely the bbq. They don't overdo it on the sauce and the wings are perfectly crisp. But where my 1/5 stars come from is the fact that I wanted to order the sauces on the size that are about 4 oz each. I thought it was insane having to practically buy about $45 worth of sauces + sides. Not a bad place to get your shrimp or mussels or clams or whatever seafood in a bag. The flavor is exceptional. Full of flavor. There is no hard liquor and only beer on tap or bottle. If you're looking for any other kind of adult beverage you will be out of luck. Parking is ok. It does get full due to Gens being in the same parking lot but it's free. No wait on a Tuesday. Our server was kind but he needs more customer service training. the food itself was mid the sauce was too watery and had a funky taste. The crab legs we got had a good amount of meat on them but the sauce was just killing the whole thing .. we decided to step out of our comfort zone to try a new seafood restaurant and we were reminded why we stick to our regular place. Went here with my parents the other day and the food was amazing! The service was also nice. We were seated immediately around dinner time. I liked that there wasn't a long wait time considering it was in a populated area. The menu is on a QR code, which you scan to access the menu. They have different flavors for their sea food bags to choose from and you can even choose your spice level. Along with certain deals on their pounds of bags to choose from. My cousins and I decided to come here for dinner. We ordered two orders of the 3lb Meal Deals ($68), which comes with two appetizers, and we decided to add two more appetizers. We thought everything was good, except the Garlic Noodles, my cousin was not a fan; she thought it was very plain tasting. The 3lb Meal Deals I got was with Cannon Ball sauce in the Fire in the Hole spice level. It had a good spice, not too spicy. My cousin thought it was a bit salty, bit I didn't think it was as salty as when I tried it at the other location in Garden Grove. The Garlic Fries, Fried Oysters, Fried Calamari, and Spicy Garlic Edamame were all good. I'm not sure I'm a fan of these type of restaurants in general. I live in Maryland (this kind of restaurant exists here too) and while some seafood is really expensive, most of it isn't and is readily available for a decent price. It just seems like a waste to pay slightly more for something I could literally make at home with very little effort, but that's just me. Anywho, my sister had been telling me about this place for a while so on my last visit she took me and moms. I ordered the fried oysters, catfish and a pound of shrimp in the cannonball sauce. First of all the cannonball sauce is weird (too much paprika maybe? IDK) and I will NEVER order that again. When I think of seafood bowls I think one of three things: cajun (bayou style), old bay (mid-Atlantic style), and hot pot (Chinese style). The flavor of the cannonball sauce is none of these and I was underwhelmed and maybe even a little disappointed. Next time I will for sure be going with a classic garlic butter. That being said the shrimp was fresh and perfectly cooked (which I'm always worried about because its so easy to overcook shrimp). The oysters were good too. Nice light batter. The catfish was meh. Claws is one of my more favorite places to get the Cajun/creole seafood. When you're asking to get down and dirty to eat with your hands and amounts of flavor, this is the place you want to go. Who started this trend? As the creole food doesn't really have this type of flavor to their cuisine, but it's delicious nonetheless. Apart from comparison to other popular places like these businesses, I believe claws tops it. I've been going to Claws since their first location in garden grove. And I'm not talking about their stand alone building that burned down. But the one on the corner attached to other businesses that was an 1/8th of the size. Their food has always had great flavor and juicing in all the best places. "Let the head sucking begin" well don't mind if I do!! I always got their meal deal specials, usually the three pound of clams crawfish and shrimp in a cannon ball medium. Over the years, prices have climbed and my appetite has gotten smaller. So we don't normally spend as much and will settle to ordering off their regular menu of what we want. Their seafood goes by market price, so sometimes ordering separately off the meal deal is the cheaper way to go as well. This location is small compared to their garden grove location, but it is also never really crowded. I don't know how others feel about it. But being able to get seated within twenty minutes is better than waiting over an hour. read more
