When it's dry, the skin is like leather and the flavors are burnt and the chicken is flaky. But the two times I've had it where it was outstanding was enough to get me hooked. That marinade on the skin, once roasted, is a literal flavor bomb. Smoky, sweet, salty... I'm not sure how else to describe it. That soup is my favorite, bright, hot, comforting. But the fries are also awesome, crispy and seasoned really well. The cilantro sauce is the best I've had, so refreshing. Drive thru service might seem a little slow but it's because the food is not really fast food! Exterior is clean and the drive thru can hold a lot of cars. You can place your order online or by calling ahead. Chicken comes out still hot off the rotisserie. My favorite sides are fried plantains or cilantro rice. Both have an up charge. Last night at approx: 5:55 pm we drove over to pick up dinner, we ordered Lomo Saltado and White fish with French fries and salad. The menu picture shows a plain white fish. When I got home I opened up my package and I was served a fried battered fish, it was a huge piece and was laying on top of the French fries which absorbed all the grease.the bottom of the fish was wet and soggy.Ends of the fish were super cripsy and the middle was not fully cooked, wet and soggy. Lomo Saltado is one of my ultimate comfort foods as it has stir fried aromatics, french fries, rice, and steak, then you top it off with the flavor bomb green aji sauce. I wanted a little more spice, so I paid an extra dollar for their red aji sauce, which reminded me of sambal oelek. For me, the green sauce is the sauce to get. Their lomo saltados come with a side of cilantro soup, which I also enjoy. Though the wait can be about 10-20 minutes for your meal, I always appreciate it's hot and fresh. The food is decent, but the service is terrible. I've been a regular customer for a while now, and on a few occasions, the female cashiers have been incredibly rude. I have been visiting Pollo Inka since the Hawaiian Gardens location was installed. This place is a flavor explosion to the palate. The saltados (I prefer pollo) are basically stir fries with veggies, French fries, and meat or chicken. It is served over rice and comes with an incredible cilantro soup. I can easily stretch this over two lunches (as the portion are generous). If I eat the whole thing, my wife gets pissed because I won't eat dinner. I am just writing this now because I more recently branched out and tried some other items from the menu. The ceviche is delectable. It is so pretty when it is served that it is hard to take a bite. I included a picture which might have been taken after a single bite. It has a garnish of giant roasted corn nuts that are still warm when it is served and softer, yet firm corn kernels as well. The fish is fresh tasting with no "fishiness" at all if that makes sense. It is a tad more than I would want to spend, but I keep going back for it, so there is proof that it is worth it. I have never dealt with too much of a crowd and the service has always been friendly. If you have questions, they are helpful. If this place served beer, I would give it 6 Stars. Incan soda it is. The sandwiches are good too, but I would definitely not order that on a first visit, as the saltado is the supreme, overall example of what this place is. read more

You really want to charge for extra sauce for a super buyer. This would have been added as one of my spots for sure, because the food good, but not sure if its the owners fault, or was the girl just one of those weird employee Cops that go by the book. You can see the chickens rotating over a fire, the cooks making the food on the grill, and the smell of fresh food being made daily. I've gotten the chaufas (which has a good Tuesday deal), the chicken plate, and the lomo Saltado and I have to say it's all been very solid. I really like the green sauce they have, it's a perfect blend of spicy and tang. I love draping it all over the plate. The price is also hard to beat, a lot of the other places that have lomo saltado is so expensive nowadays... Service is okay, and the vibes are literally a bit better than a typical fast food spot. Wash this all down with an Inca Kola --food coma, off to heaven shortly after. To me, Inca Kola tastes like bubblegum. I recommend trying it at least once. It's the 2 liter of bright yellow soda and you can find it here or at any latino supermarket. If you like sweets, you have to try their alfajores (little Peruvian caramel cookies) They're so soft and the best I've ever tried. I recently bought my mom some from this expensive place and they were so tiny and not as good as Pollo inkas!!!! Don't skip on these. Trust me. I was a little hesitant at first because of the lower rating compared to their other locations, but my actual experience exceeded expectation. We ordered to eat inside: pollo saltado, lomo saltado, yuca fries, chaufa (kids) bowl & couple drinks (one of the drink was free from Yelp Check in offer), and total came out to about $52, a bit cheaper compared other peruvian restaurants we've been to. Food was ready within 15 minutes, everything was freshly cooked & steaming hot. The saltados each came with a side of cilantro soup to my pleasant surprise, my pollo saltado had a lot of onions, which I appreciated because I love onions! Flavor was all around good, including the purple chicha beverage that tasted like a healthier fruit punch. I kinda wish they have a non-spicy version of the green sauce though since I can't do much heat, but ultimately I was satisfied.
