Found this spot of yelp and decided to stop by for a bite to eat! The food was delicious. We got the ceviche nikkei that was so flavorful and the tallarines verdes! Very clean and well kept. Only docking a star because the service was a bit slow and unfortunately had a waitress who after calling her multiple times, would look at us and continue her conversation with other customers. Being busy is one thing, ignoring customers is another :-( Aside from that, the other waitresses were kind.

This time we ordered takeout, as finding parking on a Friday evening can be a pain. We ordered the Chicken Empanada and Chaufa with chicken. Both the dishes were outstanding. Empanada were fried not baked, but tasted so good. The accompanying chimichurri was fresh and delicious. The Chaufa was excellent. I could eat it everyday. My must go Peruvian restaurant. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up quite a bit, but I understand how bad the inflation is. Definitely check it out.

First time trying Peruvian food & I'm so happy it was here. The food was amazing from the lomo saltado to the ceviches. I even ordered twice of the same plate of ceviche mixto. The mimosas were also a 10/10. The service was amazing with our servers Rosita & Ana. I will definitely be coming back.

I ordered for pick up here and drove to the location fyi i think they gave parking in the back but i parked on the street. The place inside looks very charming. I read over the menu while i waited for my food i think they have some great dine in happy hour specials. For my pick up experience service was fast. I did have to order the green sauce and i did feel like they should automatically include that because what if i forgot. I love the green sauce. I ordered the limo saltado i will tell you that i felt like it was a bit overpriced for Peruvian food in my opinion but it was pretty good to be honest. The menu said the fries were handcut i thought that was nice. I look forward to a sit down experience next. I look forward to trying out other dishes.

First of all, Rosita is great! She made my first experience here so nice! Rosita is so welcoming & sweet! I came alone so I ordered only Classic ceviche 10/10 Soooo good. Rosita told me in Peru you drink the "tiger's milk" and to not waste it. So I listened of course! Roasted caesar salad 8/10 I usually like an extremely dressed salad but roasted salad sounded interesting and it was good! They give you complimentary chips that tasted like a nice warm lays potato ship with queso haha it was really tasty. Definitely looking forward to coming back with friends so I can try more dishes

Stopped here on my way to another spot. Saw the menu in passing and we changed our plans on the spot. Luckily there was 10 minutes left for happy hour, so I ordered several plates from the special menu. Also empanadas and a couple other items. Too many to remember/name. What's important though is that it was all delicious. There wasn't a single item that was a miss.

The food is always consistent here. The cooks do an amazing job of this, ceviche always flavorful, lomo Saltado perfectly salted. The service is excellent and there is one server who always recognizes us which is always nice gesture. Ambiance is perfectly decorated with a dark but fresh feel with their booming plants. Brings a fresh vibe at the entrance. Pictured: Tallarin Verde with grilled chicken Beef Lomo Saltado Ceviche Classico

I'm soo sad that I only took one picture. Their sangria is amazing. Their lomito saltado is so perfect! My husband enjoyed their steak à la pobre. We enjoyed the golden beet salad. I highly recommend this place.

It was my first time to experience Peruvian cuisine. It did not disappoint. Ají Peruvian was a beautiful little place in Long Beach. The staff was inviting and helpful. The food was unique and tasty. It was a great experience and dinner.

At the suggestion of a friend we decided to try out Aji Peruvian Cuisine. We managed to snag one of the few parking spots behind the restaurant, but otherwise street parking is your best bet. Walking in, the vaulted ceilings and ornate decorations made us realize that this was a much more upscale Peruvian restaurant than we had anticipated. The prices definitely reflected this as well, though portions were generous and presentation was beautiful. The homemade potato chips with homemade aioli was also a nice complimentary starter, though the chips were a bit too salty for me. The food was very tasty. We ordered tallarines en huancaína con apanado, ceviche clásico, and jalea. The chica morada was a bit sweet (we prefer it more tart) and I was missing the crunchy dried corn in the ceviche. We finished with the flan which had orange zest incorporated into the custard, which elevated this dish. What stood out the most was the incredibly kind service, with presumably one of the chef/owners coming out to converse with all of the diners. Our waitress was also warm and friendly. Overall, a solid dining experience for sure!

Staff were very friendly. Food was good but flavors were just not very present.. and it was a bit pricey. I know food can have regional differences but it was unlike any other Peruvian restaurant I have been to flavor wise. I shared the chupa de camarón and ceviche mercado. Asked for the green aji sauce... got a dish with a green white and red sauce... all of them again were confusing flavor wise.

My mom, daughter and I were looking for a place to eat last week and stumbled into this place because I wanted to try something new. I'm a fan of Peruvian food and had heard so many great things about this place but I was sadly not a fan, and I'm not sure I'd return because it was just too expensive for only three of us, one being a child. The service was great and the restaurant was beautiful, spacious and clean, although cold where we were sitting. The wall where the bar is was also quite a sight. Great hospitality with kind staff, but that just isn't enough for me to come back at that price point. For starters, they do not have a kids menu or half size portion options, so not exactly family friendly if you're dining out with smaller kids. We ordered three plates and no appetizers nor dessert, and just one adult drink and it was over $100 before tip. The portions were okay, with the least expensive item having the most leftover: partially because it was what my daughter ordered. She quite enjoyed the green pasta, and honestly, it was probably one of my favorite items of the night. The chicken was a bit over-cooked and hard for her to chew around the edge. My mom and I both agreed that her chupe de camarones was very salty, it was overwhelming to eat. My lomo saltado... I don't even know where to begin. The rice and the fries were my favorite items of the meal though. Half the pieces of meat where just too hard to chew or even cut through. At first I thought it was because the meat was over-cooked/well-done, but they were still pink in the middle. Maybe it was the method they were cooked? Perhaps it's just coincidence that I got many bad cuts of meat? I don't know. But for $40 a plate, I was underwhelmed and disappointed. We didn't say anything in person because we were all hungry and the food had already taken a long time to get to us. Plus my daughter was getting antsy. So we just made the best of it and enjoyed it as best as we could. If I ever go back it may be just for appetizers and/or happy hour, but with so many options in Long Beach, it's a big "IF"

What is the attire for this restaurant? Is it classy? Is it up scale?

Like most of SoCal, it's a mix. This is sit-down dining, nice but not "fancy." Some people are very casual (jeans and T); some are more dressed up for dates or girls' night out.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / June 8, 2023

Are you open for lunch on weekdays?

Hello Maggie: We open everyday at 5 pm. Lunch only on Sundays at 12:30 pm-3 pm and 5-8:30 pm. Thank you

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes, they do!

    Is there outdoor seating still?

Yes. There are a few tables right out front.

    Is there a dress code?

    Casual

Where is the parking for the restaurant , handicap parking to be exact?

I believe there's parking spaces right behind the restaurant, handicap as well.

Do they have aji verde sauce?

We have huacatay, rocoto and Ají Amarillo sauces

    Is it vegetarian friendly?

Yes - they have a few vegetarian options

    Do they have lunch specials?

Not at this location, but right next door. They have Peruvian sandwiches during the lunch hours.

It was our first time and happened to dine during one of their collab nights. We were disappointed at first because we were craving Colombian food. But the limited menu looked promising so we gave it a go. It turned out that everything was delicious. The spare rib was fall off the bone tender and had great smoky flavor. The beans were surprisingly tasty too. (I always find beans an unnecessary and bland accompaniment). I absolutely loved the brisket stir fry. The flavors blended well and it had a nice kick. The meat was so tender and I appreciated the meat to noodle ratio. The chicken inside the empanada was deliciously smoky but not overly so and the crust was the right consistency and crisp. It came with 3 sauces which were good but would have like a more spicier option. I tried two cocktails that were in the collab menu. The black old fashioned was too strong for me. I definitely preferred the buffalo soldier which was tasty and refreshing. My favorite dessert was the Natilla. It was like a flan mousse and so good. The toasted coconut flakes added a nice texture. The oblea was fun to eat. That cream and jam were a great combo. Overall a worthwhile experience. I hope to come back to try their regular menu items.

The server did not check on us or apologize to us that it was taking a while for the food to come out until she saw the frustration on our face and inform us the food is almost ready! 45 minutes later, she brought out the empanadas and I received two chicken and one shrimp... it was OK with the help of the sauces that was given. The shrimp ceviche was actually good, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Here's the thing, the menu does not have prices on it and when we received the bill, the ceviche was $22! It left a good impression so I figured I'd go try the real deal out at some point. At the event the shrimp ceviche was served with plantain chips which if you're a central American, it's a nice touch. So for my dad's birthday I figure bring him here since we are central American something he would enjoy. Total bait and switch and it worked because based on what I got at the Yelp event I was expecting the same ingredients and presentation. I'll have images of what I had at the Yelp event vs what we were served. No plantain chips, we got tortilla chip strips, ceviche was more like a pico de gallo salsa with minimal shrimp chopped up so tiny you couldn't even taste it. Not worth the $24 or $25 that I paid for it. Even the ceviche de caracol looked like it had more protein in it than vegetables. Not sure if they're trying to save costs by making it more of a Salsa than ceviche. The waitress was attentive no complaints there and the location is pretty big inside. We were the only table there which I thought was a bit odd but figured maybe we came on an off day.
