July 19th 2026 Sunday This spot did not have to many people inside for the FIFA world Cup Final match between Argentina vs Spain. It was very accomodating since everywhere else was packed! We wanted to find some shade as well since it was 90 degrees outside. In parallel to this event, there was a city event going on at the same time called Beach Streets. That event was awesome as well! We were hungry so we posted up here from our bike ride. My wife and I got ID'd just to come in. Why ID if it is a restaurant, did not make sense? We did not have a host to sit us. Sit as you see was the service provided. Once we sat the waiter took our order. We wanted Sangria but come to find out they had nothing in stock. A restaurant that is Spanish desent and has FIFA world cup soccer being televised with out Sangria wine. Big surprise there!. We ordered a pitcher of Margarita. 10 mins to drop off and took another 17 minutes for our waiter to take our order. Ordered ceviche, empenadas and Lomo Saltado. All received within a 15 min time frame. Not going to complain about the taste, all is good. Presentation and billing is my problem from my dissapointment statements listed below. To get to the point, my complaints of dissapointment in details. This place is expensive!! The presentation of the food delivered was nothing special. The quanity being served for $26 a plate did not do justice. $16 appetizers of Ceviche and Empenadas. The margarita pitcher was $55 and it was filled mostly with ice. Lacked liquor, a bit stingy on their serving. Received our bill, they automatically but a 20% service charge tacked on my bill! Keep in mind It is only two people not a party of 6. I want the option to decide myself if the waiter is worthy of a good tip with provided service. The guy was hustling trying to take everyones orders. What type of management understaffs on a FIFA World Cup Championship game? Just one guy taking care of the entire restaurant is not acceptable. He was nearly non existence on our stay. Also, what type of managent doesnt stock alcohol up for the big game? The place looks and feels runned down. Tables looked old, restaurant was hot. Plastic Forks and spoons provided with one napkin. Lol. Just full of dissapointments. My final bill came out to $140. The nail in the coffin for me to rate this place only 1 star was the automatic service charge attached. I disagree with this restaurants billing policy. They stronghold you to pay for service, even if the service is bad. Overall, the taste is good, but if your going to charge me $26 for a plate, at least give me some silverware and clean my tables. I have been here a few times since the early 2000s. This place needs a makeover. Tables are dirty outside and inside. Charging for high quality prices for a place that doesnt deliver the ambiance. Total dissapointment on my visit. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place has only two bathrooms, and the women's restroom is literally a single stall. The line is so long it spills into the dance floor, with people bumping into each other and drinks constantly being spilled. The floor is sticky, dirty, and honestly unsafe. I had just paid the waitress for a drink when staff suddenly started yelling that they were closed and began pushing people out. When I tried to use the restroom before leaving, I was turned away by an extremely rude and unprofessional employee. The cover charge is $15, and it's absolutely not worth it. The environment felt chaotic and uncomfortable, and I witnessed multiple instances of people being touched inappropriately. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I haven't been down here in a long time but just came out this weekend for my homeboys graduation party. It's changed a lot over the years . When you walk in it smells like a sewers and mildew build up . it's really bad I ended up leaving but the bartenders Wendy and Dee were very nice and made the experience better than I expected . First time coming here, parking is either metered street parking (if you can find any), or paid lots. We went to a paid lot and walked to the restaurant. Before 10pm it's a restaurant and after it's a nightclub. Our waiter was great she got all of our stuff very quickly. After 10pm we had to go to the bar. The nightclub would get a little full since it's small. The restroom is on the other side of the location so you need to walk thru the dance floor to get to it There's only 2 restrooms, one for women one for men. The attendant let like 5 guys go in at the same time asm door is almost always left open (weird lol) and women restroom always has a line. I personally probably would never come here again lol read more

Popped in here for a drink before starting the night. They have valet parking which makes it easy to get around pine Avenue. There was a sugar cane in my drink that I loved. They WILL charge unauthorized tips. We went here on 11/22/25 for a night out. My boyfriend payed for two rounds for a group of 5. The bartender (short Latino dude who got mad anytime anyone asked for water as the dispenser they had out kept running out) stated that 5 palomas came up to $77. My boyfriend handed him his credit card and the man not only does NOT bring the machine over to have him sign but also blocks the view and did NOT provide a receipt. The second round was 5 vodka red bulls that also came out $77 and once again our friend strikes again taking the card and covering the machine so we can't see which was odd as every bar in the area would have YOU finish off your transaction. My boyfriend prefers to tip cash as he 'd rather give it to the person who services us. So we found it odd that a couple days later we go back and check and see that each transaction was charged an extra $10 each. We called another group member who also bought a round of 5 Palomas and she too was told it would be that same price and was charged $97. This man not only tipped himself on top of the cash tip but also did it to multiple people. Who knows how many others he has done it to that night let alone his entire time he's been employed there. Judging by reviews, more people have had similar issues and delt with bartenders who finessed more money out of people who were genuinely just there to have a good time. read more

Place sucks, it's tiny and humid. They're a "nightclub" by night but it just seems like a school dance. At the time there were a total of 6 parties(including ourselves) at Algeria. I ordered Paella and my boyfriend ordered a non- paella dish. His food arrived first. Giving 5 stars because we had walked up and down that entire street, almost every bar we walked up to was empty but told us we couldn't go in without a reservation and also could not sit at the bar. Places were empty, it was shocking. Went to Algeria and saw the same thinking it was empty but we'd get pushed away, COMPLETE opposite!!!! It was so great!!!! We sat at the bar, had mimosas all morning. There was a DJ, nothing loud or crazy since it still was the morning but really made the brunch vibe better. My boyfriend and I went to this nightclub yesterday and we had a blast! The bar tenders impressed me with how quickly they turned around drinks for everyone and they were not stingy with the pours. The bartenders were walking around passing shots out and there was plenty of space to walk around the dance floor. The only thing that needs improvement is the amount of bathroom availability. Wanted to try this place since moving to CA and in my opinion it was as disappointing as all latino type cuisine in SoCal. The paella had frozen veggies like green beans, lima beans and zucchini for some reason. As you can see from the pictures it was a watery mess with huge chunks of peppers and and onions. Just bad. The other dish we got was the bistec a caballo which is flank steak with 2 eggs over easy. Eggs were raw not over easy, the bistec was ok. Potatoes were ok. Bottomless mimosas were room temp and the fountain soda was watered down. In my opinion, don't waste your money. Our server was fantastic, friendly and cordial. Sorry, she didn't give us her name.
