We had the BEST time eating here! I've always loved chaufa since I first tried it as a kid, but I hadn't tried more Peruvian food beyond that so this was a fun and delicious new experience. We came for dinner on a late Friday afternoon and were seated quickly. Service was quick and friendly, and our server gave us so many tips on how to eat the food well (offered us yummy sauces, and guided us to pour some of the cebiche sauce from our Leche de Tigre onto the chaufa!) The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting. I loved the illustrated recipes on the walls the moment you walk in and the murals and art pieces. Also the entire place was clean and well kept, the bathroom was clean too! The food was amazinggggg, I truly have so much more I want to come back for on my next visit. For this time, we had: LECHE DE TIGRE $29 chopped fish & seafood, leche de tigre, onion, choclo, cancha with crispy calamari (This was my first time having crispy seafood in a ceviche dish!) TALLARIN VERDE CON LOMO SALTADO $27 linguini in peruvian pesto sauce with lomo saltado (The pesto was unlike any other pesto I've tasted before) CHAUFA DE MARISCO $26 peruvian chinese fried rice, seafood, egg, vegetables (Can't go wrong with a chaufa, loved this so much) We can't wait to come back and this also made us want to visit Peru :)

Prior to the last few years, lomo saltado was my only experience with Peruvian food I've ever had. I've learned more about it but still excited to taste more of this wondrous cuisine. The chef here has developed a menu that celebrates his culture and it truly shines through the dishes offered. I visited Lima around the time they first opened and as with any restaurant, there were some things I felt needed improvement. Since then, I've eaten here twice and I feel like it's more dialed in. The menu is limited compared to most restaurants and I can tell it's to ensure they can produce quality dishes. Their cebiche is fresh and obviously a must order from a Peruvian spot. Their lomo saltado is well seasoned and you can taste the smokiness from being wok fired. I recently tried their adobo special and it was melt in your mouth tender and the sauce was deep in flavor. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for Peruvian food made with care. The dining room is spacious, clean, and modern. Definitely need to come back soon.

Everything is here so vibrant and colorful from visuals to flavors

Lima is a Peruvian restaurant with a fun, open vibe. The story of fishermen and the sea are the main theme, seen everywhere from the framed photos on the walls to the wicker basket light fixtures representing fish baskets used to hold the treasures of the sea. The vibe is jovial and playful with bright colors everywhere. It's hard not to feel a bit excited for what's to come. Food Choritos à la Chalaca Mussels with fruits of the sea. It is vibrant in color and tastes with brightness all around. Think of oysters but elevated and dressed for a fiesta. La Sirena (Aji Amarillo) ceviche Comes like a summer sunset, deep hues of amber with fresh fish. The fish is chewy and bounces to the bite. If you like fish and bursts of flavor this is it. It also is strong evidence in backing up my claim that Peruvian ceviche is the best type of ceviche. Pulpo à la Parrilla Tender octopus fire grilled and liberally seasoned with Peruvian spices, it is beautiful and tasty. Meaty without being filling, it's the type of meat you could eat without feeling guilty. Arroz con Mariscos Think of Peruvian style paella. Dressed with a generous portion of red onions and cilantro on top, this dish is creamy and rich with the flavors of the ocean deeply infused into the rice. Conclusion As I am writing this I am lying on the floor at my sister's apartment because I'm so full. Everything tasted wonderful and it was hard to stop eating, even though I was bursting at the seams. Lima is a perfect example of elevated flavors without the need for formality or gate keeping recipes for higher prices. Whether coming for a casual hang out or for a special occasion Lima is an exceptional place to have Peruvian cuisine any day of the week.

Came here for lunch right when they opened so the service was very pleasant and the restaurant was bright and clean. We ordered the el chalaco ceviche which was just OK, it was supposed to be spicy but it tasted very average. Th lomo saltado was good but instead of fries they give you hunks of potatoes which was different. The best dish we ordered was the causa lima especial-it's a bed of seafood in a cream sauce topped with mashed potatoes that looks like noodles. The texture and flavor was totally unexpected! A little bit overpriced for the portions but it was a good lunch.

Met w friends here. The ambiance is great/lovely. Salsa music playing in the background at a perfect volume making it uplifting and fun. Pretty entrance. I appreciate the service, and the food was delish and beautifully plated! Scallop special - yum!! Tarrine w lomo, and arroz w mariscos - a variety of colors and so tasty. 2 bathrooms always helpful I will return again

Delicious Arroz con Mariscos. Chicha morada could be better. Nice decor and ambiance inside. Pricing for the arroz con mariscos could be better. Rather on the medium portion size for its price.

5/5 Tallarin verde: this was so creamy which was different but in a good way because normally I'm not a pesto person. And the meat was cooked perfectly 5/5 Arroz con mariscos: this was also so creamy and loaded with seafood 5/5 el pescador: so good and very traditional Peruvian style with corn and sweet potato 5/5 service: super friendly waiters and broke down the menu and shared his favorites Parking: 4/5 street only but no meters

I am local to the Bixby Knolls community. I have been bypassing this place for months. Decided to try this place out today since I was in the mood for some Seafood. Entered this establishment and was greeted and seated immediately. Fresh waters were given to us while we look over the menu. By the way, the water was delicous! Did not taste like tapwater. :) Our waiter came back, we ordered everything in one shot. Wine, Peruvian beer, lomas Saltado, ceviche, and octopus. All these entrees were recommended by our waiter. Received all our food within 10-15 minutes. All was delicious! The octopus was a big hit in my book, and the ceviche was tasty. It wasn't your typical Mexican style ceviche ..but a Peruvian ceviche with a distinctive taste and flavor. Loma Saltado was pleasant, the meat cooked to perfection! The ambiance here felt like an up to date Peruvian fusion restaurant, without the fusion food. Nice decor with good vibes. It was a clean establishment. The restrooms were really clean which gave this restaurant quality of character. I will definitely come back. We recommend they have happy hour to spruce up their business as well as some live music. Entrees is above pricing average but the quality made up for it. Dont think you will get large portions here, but just okay portions. The type of portion type dishes you take your first date to. Not to much not too little. Cool place to have some intimacy. There is a bus stop in front, which i noticed there are loud kids waiting for the bus. Restaurant should try to muffle the scene using wall dividers or spacers. They were alittle annoying if you sat by the glass doors by the entrance. Overall, good service and good food. Big Kudos to Jorge for being a cool waiter. He even gave us some tea after our meals.

I would first love to begin by thanking Jorge for his undeniable personality and customer service, the guy just flat out did everything in his power to make us happy. My family loved the bright colors, the open layout, the modern design that celebrates traditions of Peru . We ordered varying dishes and there was not one complaint about any of what we received! We can give a quick tip about the red aji: spicy

I've had this gem bookmarked for a while and I'm so glad we finally got here! While the space and menu are small, the experience is huge, the food is genuinely authentic and absolutely delicious. We spent half the meal glancing at other tables, trying to decide what to order on our next visit! Here's what we ordered: Pulpo a la Parrilla (Grilled Octopus): Perfectly grilled and tender, topped with a divine chimichurri sauce that ties everything together beautifully. La Sirena (Ceviche): Our server recommended this after I mentioned I love spicy food. Refreshing, bright, and with just the right kick. Chaufa de Mariscos: My personal go-to whenever I visit a Peruvian restaurant. This version was packed with seafood (a total plus since many places skimp on it!). The only thing I noticed was a bit of an aftertaste from what I assume was a flavor enhancer. I'm super sensitive to that but tbh, the dish is flavorful enough on its own and doesn't even need it. Regardless, I still enjoyed it. Lomo Saltado: My boyfriend's pick and he loved it! Tender beef, flavorful sauce, and perfectly seasoned fries. A quick shout-out to the incredible staff! I was too food-excited to catch our server's name, but the teamwork and attentiveness at every table were remarkable. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Pulpo a La Parilla (small order)

I love Peruvian ceviche and Lima did not disappoint. It was opened by the same team behind Sushi Nikkei so they definitely know what they are doing. It's a really casual and simply decorated restaurant serving up some tasty food. My friends and I came close to closing time and the staff was friendly and helpful. The menu is on the small side but everything they make is delicious. Between 3 of us we shared 4 dishes and I was still a little hungry after. We started with the Pulpo a La Parilla of which you can select from 2 sizes and we went with the smaller. The octopus was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed the accompanying sauces. Next was the Cebiche El Pescador, their classic ceviche. For $28 I thought the portion was on the small side, but it was very fresh with great flavors. We rounded it out with the Lomo Saltado with the tender and juicy steak, and the Arroz Con Mariscos packed with flavor.

El Chalaco (Rocoto) spicy leche de tigre with mixed seafood, Inca Kola and Chicha Morada - muy buena
    Lynn O.

Power couple of Sushi Nikkei has expanded their venture and opened Lima Cebichería Peruana just a couple doors down in Bixby Knolls. Their menu is simple but far from basic, showcasing all the favorite Peruvian seafood dishes. The only non-seafood dish is the Lomo Saltado, which I'll have to try next time. I was a little worried they would be packed on Sunday night, but there were only a few patrons when we arrived at 8pm. Our server, Jorge, said they were busy all day, so that was a good sign. We were happy to get seated right away and the food came out very quickly too. The place is well lit with a good amount of tables inside and a few outside. They offer 4 different types of cebiche: clásico, rocoto, aji amarillo and leche de tigre. I opted for the spicy one, El Chalaco (rocoto) mixto, which included fresh sea bass, squid, shrimp and scallop. Loved the crunchy, large corn and the leche de tigre was to die for. Pulpo a la Parrilla: tender octopus marinated in anticuchera sauce, chimichurri, potatoes, huancaína sauce. $25 for half was plenty and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The chimichurri went well with the octopus and creamy huancaina was great for dipping the potatoes in. Chaufa de Mariscos: Peruvian Chinese fried rice, seafood, egg, vegetables. The sprouts added a refreshing texture and the peppers gave it a nice kick. One of the best chaufa de mariscos I've ever had! Drinks are currently limited to Chicha Morada, Inca Kola, Emoliente, Mexican Coke and Topo Chico. The Peruvian drinks are worth a try! After tax and tip, I was a bit surprised to see that we spent $120 for the 3 dishes and 2 soft drinks at $5 each. The portions of seafood were quite generous though and we even took some home. I will return to try more items.

Mussels (front) grilled octopus (back). Chicha morada drink.

We tried their lomito saltado and arrocito norteno. They didn't provide any aji sauce for the lomito (surprising) but were quick to bring some when we requested it. The beef was very tender! So although definitely more expensive than more casual Peruvian spots, we could taste the quality. I also loved the arrocito norteno, as I love seafood paella, and this was basically that. The scallops and octopus were so good! This place is a bit more luxe than the other Peruvian places I've tried before, which is reflected in their price. Although we were there in the day, I could imagine this place being a cute date spot at night. Glad to try this main stay in Long Beach and would recommend for a bit more upscale meal (although no pressure to dress nice at all, just seems like that vibe).

The flavours encompassed in the dishes we'd ordered which were the Lomito Saltado and the Aji De Gallina were as authentic here as what we dined on back in 2024 which certifies them as premier purveyors of Peruvian cuisine. Drinks wise, they had Maracuya juice which is their local version of passionfruit in that region as well as Chicha Morada which is their Purple Corn beverage composed of cinnamon, cloves, fresh lime juice and when in Peru, they'll utilize pineapple husks for flavouring. It apparently is more popular in Peru than Coca-Cola and after a few sips you'll inevitably see why. Next up when I return will be the Causa trio, in the meanwhile this establishment comes heavily recommended from someone who has traveled to Peru as they hit the nail on the head with their offerings.

Ok, completely understandable, we wait at the bar for a bit. While waiting, I get curious and decide to check the online reservations, and see that there are actually a bunch of time slots open (7:00, 7:30, 8:00, etc etc). I reserve for 7:30 and let the hostess know, and she says "oh ok, I was going to give you that table anyway." A little weird that we were told they were completely booked? But ok, at least she was nice about it and we're happy to have a table. We sit down and the server tells us they're out of a few different things, including the chicken we want. Ok, fine, we settle on 4 plates that they still have available. 2 of the plates arrive pretty quickly and are pretty good. But at some point a large group comes in and the restaurant gets busier, and the rest of the food doesn't arrive. We finish the first 2 plates (including an entire whole fish, which took a while to eat), they clear the plates away, and we keep waiting for a long time after that. They eventually come check on us and ask if we need anything else, and I said we're still waiting for the other 2 items. They come back and tell us that those items somehow got put in out of order (?) and ended up behind the large group that came in after us (Clearly the order had just gotten lost). Eventually, we finally get the rest of our food, even though it's been like an hour since we ordered and we're not even hungry anymore. I thought they would at least offer to comp something as an apology for the insane wait (as most restaurants would), but no, they still charge us for everything. On top of everything else, as we're leaving, I walk past the large group that came in after us, and see that they're eating SEVERAL plates of the chicken that we were told they were out of before that group even arrived. I can understand honest mistakes or delays on a busy night. But never in my life has a restaurant made me feel so lied to and gaslit at every turn, whether it be about reservation availability, what dishes they were out of, or what happened to our order. And then not take accountability for anything. A truly one-of-a-kind bizarre experience. It's a shame because the food was actually pretty decent (and the only reason I'm giving more than 1 star). But it wasn't exceptional enough to make up for the service, or to give me any reason to come back.

We got there when it was lunch time so it wasn't too busy or too loud. The service was great as the servers always checked up on us. Definitely a must try and we'll be coming back to try the other menu items!

The three of us came here on a Friday night and thankfully we were seated right away. A bit busy…read morebut glad we were able to just pop right in! First time experiencing sushi Peruvian style. Sounded like an interesting twist. Both kinds of food are respectfully delicious in their own ways. For starters, we shared most of the appetizers, so we did the hamachi tostada. Super fresh and a nice flavorful bite. We also shared the jalapeño yellowtail and octopus fire. Both were really good but just a bit too much sauce. That's the only thing that separated the finish, aside from that, the fish was fresh. For sushi we did, salmon belly, blue fin tuna, and yellow tail belly. Def enjoyed these three pieces. Wife and I ordered blue crab hand roll, delicious. We were still hungry and ordered a couple of rolls. Nothing too spectacular, again a bit too much sauce in my opinion. Service was kinda slow here, ordered our foods, dropped off our foods, didn't really come back to check in. No refill on waters or drinks. Other than that, solid place. Would I come back? Maybe!
