Pollo con todo, loved this plate with a side of rotisserie chicken breast. Very flavorful a must have.

This is what you consider a hole in a wall place. I love Peruvian food and this place didn't really capture it for me. My meat was not tender at all. It was disappointing. My gf's food was ok, she said. The worse part is that it was very pricey for this place. Service was good and everyone was pleasant.

Tamal and onions Tamal has no price listing and this is the combo/meal. No drink or rice and now beans or anything.

The food: They didn't have what I wanted. Service: It wasn't great, it was awkward and made me feel like I was bothering them. Ambiance: awkward and cringey. I ordered a tamale and it was $13.50. You would think it must have rice and beans for that price, Noo it was only a tamale. No rice or beans. Way too overpriced I can go to el torito get the chicken fajita special for $10 or even the chicken enchilada for $10 or I can go to in-n-out and get the number one for about $12 bucks. Don't be an idiot like me and go to this place just to get ripped off. I paid 13.50 for a tamal and 3.50 for a canned Pepsi.

Came in on my lunch break to meet up with a friend. I ordered for both of us and was told I could sit anywhere. We ordered (2) Saltado de Pollo lunch specials and (2) papa relleno. They brought us chicken rice soup which was hot and perfect for the cold day. The saltado de pollo was absolutely delicious. I had a side of pickled onions which were the perfect touch. There was a problem with the papas but the lady behind the counter was quick to solve the problem and was very apologetic. Bummed we couldn't stay longer to enjoy because we had to get back to work. Service was great, food was delicious and I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Super delicious and authentic Peruvian food. Usually get the lomo saltado and it's great. Flavors are deep and the green sauce is extra spicy here. The service is great and the lady working there is super nice.

Food was delicious, I can't wait to go back and have the tallarin verde con bistec .. Kevin was amazing with the service. Prices are acceptable.

The lamb was bone in but also fall off the bone tender. There was enough to share between two hungry females. They were so kind as to be patient with my mom's demands. It was wonderful to go into a cozy restaurant open for Christmas. They have Karaoke Fridays, Peruvian beers, and non-alcoholic drinks. They have French and Spanish wines. They do catering. There are some tasty looking vegetarian options. The space fits comfortably 45 people. Gracias. Feliz Navidad. Peruvian home cooking, the lamb reminded me of Filipino barbacua but it's good getting acquainted with Peruvian taste and culture. Their logo is so funny, it's a comic line drawing of a chicken, no doubt a specialty of the chef which I could tell from the aguadita, arroz caldo verde con pollo zanahorias y guisantes green soup of rice with chicken and peas and carrots. Their motto in Spanish translated means, "Here you're not clients, you're friends!" Really true. Made my Christmas, too. Check out their menu here, which doesn't include either their expansive spirits or juices libations. (234)

I normally get the lomo saltado which is the bomb. Don't forget the soup and green sauce. The roasted chicken is also tasty.

I asked the DJ exclusively to put the disco music on, He put on 3 songs no one's ever heard of and continued with merengue and salsa. The place was SUPER hot no Air conditioner at all not even fans. It's an older crowd which is a plus plus with no drama. It's an ok place to get dinner and a night out. 80s music must be updated and don't call it cumbias because it's mostly merengue and salsa which is played on Fridays supposedly. Waitresses are tired so not very friendly and take a while to come back to the table, Will return as the food is good but will bring my own fan hopefully the blender is working and will NOT expect good Disco music.

A lot of the dishes we ordered included squid, but each one was prepared differently, so the textures were all unique and enjoyable. It made the meal more interesting and satisfying. The atmosphere felt a bit exotic to me in a good way, and the service was friendly throughout our visit. The only downside was the restroom. It didn't seem to be cleaned very well, which was a little disappointing. Overall, though, the food quality and service made it a place we're glad we tried.

We tried their lomito saltado and arrocito norteno. They didn't provide any aji sauce for the lomito (surprising) but were quick to bring some when we requested it. The beef was very tender! So although definitely more expensive than more casual Peruvian spots, we could taste the quality. I also loved the arrocito norteno, as I love seafood paella, and this was basically that. The scallops and octopus were so good! This place is a bit more luxe than the other Peruvian places I've tried before, which is reflected in their price. Although we were there in the day, I could imagine this place being a cute date spot at night. Glad to try this main stay in Long Beach and would recommend for a bit more upscale meal (although no pressure to dress nice at all, just seems like that vibe).

Aji on 4th Streets Retro Row delivered the goods as my Wife & I had journeyed down to Peru in 2024 and from Lima, Cusco and Puno. The flavours encompassed in the dishes we'd ordered which were the Lomito Saltado and the Aji De Gallina were as authentic here as what we dined on back in 2024 which certifies them as premier purveyors of Peruvian cuisine. Drinks wise, they had Maracuya juice which is their local version of passionfruit in that region as well as Chicha Morada which is their Purple Corn beverage composed of cinnamon, cloves, fresh lime juice and when in Peru, they'll utilize pineapple husks for flavouring. It apparently is more popular in Peru than Coca-Cola and after a few sips you'll inevitably see why. Next up when I return will be the Causa trio, in the meanwhile this establishment comes heavily recommended from someone who has traveled to Peru as they hit the nail on the head with their offerings.

We got the beef empanada and chicken empanadas. Those were pretty nice portions for $4 each and had generous fillings. I liked the beef one more. The lomo saltado was okay - the beef was cooked to medium but only a little juicy and a bit tough. The fries felt like they were frozen as some had weird texture and the rice is undercooked. I've had better so I was a little disappointed. The tallarine verde con pollo is a pesto pasta with chicken, Peruvian style. I love the creaminess and very flavorful and hearty pesto sauce in the dish. Noodles were of good texture despite it being very hot in temperature. The sangrias were excellent. For $7 it is fair for a nice cocktail drink. I liked the red sangria more. It was fairly strong. Service is good as expected since we were the only table and they made sure we got everything we wanted, on request. Prices were a bit high (my first impression from menus a year ago was like, wow nice value for good portions at good quality, but prices have almost doubled plus 4% extra which makes it hard to justify casually going here unless for a nice meal out, minus the ambience, which is where I took off a star)

Seating: No-frills setup but good art to feel like you're in Peru. Good for small groups, inside seating for about 20 people. Vibes: Welcome to Gardena! Nothing flashy of mainstream LA but you can appreciate its local charm. Very much a local, no-hype spot. You walk in, smell the chicken roasting, and already know what you're getting into. It's all about the food here. FOOD / DRINKS: 2 Piece Chicken & 2 Sides (Recommend) This is the main event. Juicy, well-seasoned, and that rotisserie flavor really comes through. Pollo a la brasa is a Peruvian staple known for its roasted, marinated chicken cooked over heat for that smoky flavor --and this delivers on that expectation. Signature aji sauce - garlic, peppers, lime, cilantro. The beans were hearty and filling, and the coleslaw helped balance out the richness of the chicken. Finally the tortilla provided nice savory and comforting flavors. Nothing overly fancy, but they do the job well. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and slightly sweet--perfect to wash everything down. It's a traditional Peruvian drink made from purple corn with fruit and spices, giving it that unique flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Straightforward and efficient. Gets the job done. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Awesome! Good food, reasonable prices and a pleasant experience. It's a solid spot for Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Nothing fancy, but that's the appeal-- straight to the food. If you're looking for some Peruvian flavors, this is your spot. When the dish arrived, the batter on most items looked pale and undercooked instead of light and crisp. The scallop and squid pieces were especially bad--there was too much batter, and I had to pick the seafood out because the coating was heavy and doughy. The shrimp tempura was also soggy and not properly cooked. There was a lot of inconsistency on the plate. The pumpkin was over-browned and seemed like it may have been cooked separately or held too long, while the shishito pepper was fine. The egg was served with an undercooked white, and when I mentioned it, I was told that was intentional. I don't mind a runny yoke but I do not eat undercooked egg whites. Plus the tempura batter was mushy and undercooked on the outside of the egg. The white fish itself was fine, but overall the tempura seemed like it was coming out of unstable or poorly managed frying oil. I also noticed a slightly scorched oil smell and that other tempura dishes being served around me didn't look much better. Service was slow to check in after the food was dropped off, which made it difficult to address issues early. By the time I sent the shrimp back, most of the meal experience was already affected. The ambience also wasn't very comfortable--quite loud and not really conducive to a relaxed meal. Overall, I wouldn't return for tempura here based on this experience.
