Pumpkin pancakes and tartine
Brenda L.

The good: I got the flat white, strawberry matcha, seasonal pumpkin pancakes with pecans, and fried egg tartine with artichoke. The pancakes were delicious! They were very fluffy. The syrup that came with it was better than cheap maple syrup. The flat white was delicious. Parking was easy right out front and was free. The interior was decorated with a car shop, monster truck theme. It was super cute and fun. I liked the blue barstools and the monster truck videos on the tv. You seat yourself. The booths had charging outlets. The bad: I ordered the ube tea drink but they ran out of ube syrup. There's no outdoor dining. The tartine was a bit too oily and greasy from the pesto and perhaps the artichoke (if they were soaked in oil before). The interesting: They played a lot of 1990s/early 2000s rock music like Incubus, matchbox 20, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, etc.

We stopped by Clutch and Coffee in Torrance after one of my daughter's weekend classes and really enjoyed it. Service was great from the start, but one thing that immediately stood out was our waitress bringing over a few table games for my daughter to play with while we waited. I absolutely loved that! When you're eating out with a young kiddo, little things like that make such a difference. She was busy, we could actually sit and talk, and nobody had to pull out a phone! I honestly wish more restaurants thought to do this. It was simple, but showed how considerate they are of families coming in with kids. My husband ordered the Clutch Burger. He enjoyed it and finished just about EVERYthing! I went with the Southern Fried Chicken & Waffle, and there was A LOT going on with it in the best way. Fried chicken breast over a Belgian waffle with sweet pepper candied bacon and jalapeño jam. The jalapeño jam was what sold me because it gave it that sweet and savory combination with a little extra flavor. My daughter was perfectly happy with her pancake and sausage. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh. Another thing I have to mention because I appreciate it more than I probably should: their online menu has pictures of the food! THANK YOU. I'm a visual person, and sometimes reading a description just isn't enough. I want to see what the plate looks like before I commit, especially when I'm deciding between a few things. More restaurants need to do this, puh-lease! The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, including the bathroom, and the whole experience just felt easy. Good service, good food, and they clearly understand that families with kids are part of their clientele. We'll definitely be back after another weekend class!

First time here. Wait was 40 minutes. The food was worth the wait. I had the chile relleno omelette and the blueberry pancakes. The coffee was excellent as well. I sat at the counter it still took 40 minute wait. I'm used to sitting at the counter without waiting. Here I had to wait in their list for a seat at the counter. Parking was also hard to find. Public parking was full I parked 3 blocks away and walked. Got my steps in for the day ! Definitely coming back. Next time I will sign up on Yelp

After experiencing racism at another restaurant in Newport Beach the day before, it was really heartening to be welcomed at this restaurant. My husband and I were greeted so nicely upon entering the door, and the guy at the front counter was all full of smiles. The waitress attending to us was Suzie and she was an angel as well. Very attentive, she kept checking on us even though she had the hands full. We ordered Shaksuka with a side of fries. The food came fast and I really liked the toast that came with the Shaksuka that we made another order for that toast. Overall, nice place to dine in. You can see the staffs are all happy working here. Even the busboy gave us a smile!

I had a meeting in the area, so after doing my 3 minutes of speaking and a "tourist visit" to the Torrance Farmers Market, this spot came up as a nearby brunch option. Weekends tend to be packed at good brunch spots, and this ticked that box--it was packed, with a good wait. I joined the Yelp waitlist before I left the market, and once I arrived and the hostess appeared (which took a minute), she offered me immediate counter seating. Spoiler alert: I took it. It took the server a few minutes to get to me--though she did say hello and let me know she'd be by shortly. There's a prominent drink menu at the counter, but what wasn't so prominent was the food menu. I sat there for a few minutes waiting for someone to bring me a food menu before I realized that this tri-fold piece of paper hiding near the drink menu WAS the food menu. It's odd that the drink menu is large and laminated, and this looks like a to-go pamphlet. In any case, after some discussion with my server, I opted for the blueberry pancakes, which had been mentioned in other reviews. It took a little while for them to come--it was a busy service--but it wasn't so long as to be problematic. The pancake dish itself is a trio of large blueberry pancakes topped with blueberry compote and butter. My server mentioned that she found the compote enough--she didn't need syrup. For me, however, the pancakes would have been dry without at least a little syrup, so I asked for some (I'm a little surprised they didn't serve it with syrup). Once properly accessorized, they were tasty, though they fell apart pretty easily and were only moderately--but not exceptionally--fluffy. All in all, a good brunch option if you're in Torrance, and I'd have been curious to try some of the savory dishes--some of the other dishes floating around the counter looked tasty. I'd return if I were in the area.

My siblings & I went on a Sat morning for breakfast. The service & ambiance was car themed & I love it! The array of food dishes is a great fusion of both traditional & Mexican dishes. I the food is prepared fresh & in a good time. Parking & waiting to be seated depends; we were seated immediately and got hot fresh brewed coffee soon as we sat. Can't wait to come back! Thank staff !!!

Love this place! It's a pinch of a stretch from my job but definitely worth the travel. I looove their service. Some nice folks in there. Not sure if they are but i get a family ran ambient from them which feels nice. I don't think any other breakfast/brunch joint tops this place. Craft beer? Come onnnn lol. If i didnt go during work hours, i'd totally have one. Their portions are true and fulfilling, you're getting your buck for sure. This last time i went for blueberry pancakes and craving was by far completed and satisfied. Their pancakes taste very unique and different. They were very yummy, i was sad i couldn't finish them. Their lattes are really good as well. Restrooms are very clean and up to standards for sure. Just typing this makes me want to go again. Enjoy!

I am now a regular here. Their blueberry waffles are delicious and the omelets are solid. IAs usual, the food quality, portions and service is always consistent.

Classic Benedict with Fruit and Cold Brew

Craving eggs Benedict and based on Yelp made a detour. Staff were all friendly and helpful, shop was immaculately clean. Gentleman at counter let me know I could seat myself. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, hollandaise right amount and temperature (often it's too much or slightly too cold and congealed). "Fruit" is often a crap-shoot but berries and pineapple and all fresh and delicious. I'm picky about cold brew, this was great. I will be making future detours through Clutch and Coffee.

This place is a gem. Great atmosphere. The music makes it a nice place to eat and chat with friends. We had excellent food but like the name the coffee is the star. I highly recommend coming early.

Menu - what they have to offer.

Clutch & Coffee really came through for a solid brunch in Old Town Torrance. The cafe‑style, homemade cooking is absolutely something to talk about, you can genuinely taste that everything is made from scratch. It's comforting, flavorful, and feels like a meal made with intention rather than rushed café fare. Service was warm and attentive, and the overall vibe is super laid‑back, the kind of neighborhood café where you can relax, enjoy your coffee & food, and take in the mellow Old Town atmosphere. One thing to note: this place gets busy, especially on Saturdays and Sundays during brunch hours. Plan ahead or expect a bit of a wait, but honestly, the food and experience make it worth it. Egg Breakfast, strawberry pancakes, Greek yogurt, white lotus latte and a matcha latte
Melody N.

Came for Sunday brunch with the family! I was able to check-in the line while on our way through Yelp and only waited 5 minutes to be seated. Our party was 4 people. It seemed extremely peaceful from the outside, but as soon as you step inside the spot is really upbeat. Waiters were really friendly and made sure our food/drinks were up to par! I REALLY recommend the strawberry pancakes and egg breakfast. The white lotus latte was to die for! I will definitely come back again.

ELDON Classic
Vianca Maree Q.

This cafe is located in the Old Town Torrance area. Along the street of Torrance Bakery. Vibes were really nice, we came in around 9am on a Saturday, fairly busy when we got there. Got seated in the booth. We ordered Eldon Classic Benedict and Steak & Eggs. Food was decent. Staff are really nice and friendly. Overall, would be a good spot if you're looking for something local.

Ask the Community - Clutch and Coffee

Did you move to Lomita?

No, I didn't

I've tried coming here several times the past couple of weeks during standard business hours, whether it be just after opening or a few hours later. And they are still closed.?

IDk, I usually am there Sundays and they are open at 8am. Maybe call before stopping by?

Can I make a reservation for 8 or do I just have to get there and wait?

Sorry, I think to be safe, I would call and ask them if they need reservations for 8 ppl.

Do they do take out?

There is always coffee bar walk up to order. Takeout not available on weekends when they are busy. I've been able to do takeout 1 out of 3 tries when it was non-peak hours.

Does the staff wear masks?

No. Not a one. Not the servers, not the cooks. My family will not be back.

Is it busy?

Yes it's very popular on weekends.... Sign up ahead on yelp👍

Is there currently outdoor seating?

Yes

Is the listed phone # accurate? I called 5+ times over a 30-min. period selecting different connect options & none picked up.

Does this place work for a family group of 8?

Most definitely

Do they have reliable wifi? Is it busy to get a table?

I got a to go order. I would say call in advance for a to go order. As far as wifi ...not sure because I did not dine there.

Chicken and waffles?

Yes. Very good 😉. You should try it.

Overall, decent food at a historic establishment in Old Torrance. Definitely go for Happy Hour for the best deals!

I come to Del Amo pretty often, whether it's to go to the bookstore, shop at some of my favorite…read morestores, or just eat at one of the restaurants around the mall. I had seen the Bazille sign above the Nordstrom entrance so many times, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually get there. For some reason, I also assumed from the name "Bazille" that it was probably some kind of salad or healthy/vegan place , so I never really bothered to figure it out. Well, I finally did about two weeks ago, and OMG -- what a pleasant surprise. You actually enter through Nordstrom and take the stairs or elevator up to the second floor. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and intimate without feeling overly fancy. But the FOOD! Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good. And another pleasant surprise was the price. I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. And clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything that came out was amazing. I can't believe I've walked past this place so many times without trying it. Now that Bazille is officially on my radar, the other restaurants I usually visit when I come to Del Amo definitely have some competition. I'll absolutely be back!

The au jus was flavored with something a bit spicy, I get it's Cali but i prefer traditional au jus. The French onion soup is in a generous sized bowl (I split it with my wife). Don't get me wrong, it's good but it's not great. There was something missing that I couldn't out my finger on. Overall tho, it felt like quality food at reasonable prices. B: service: as you'd expect from nordstroms, service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive but not over attentive. I drink a lot of ice tea and my glass was never less than a 1/4 tank. C: ambiance. Ok, full confession, my wife brought me to the mall and nordstroms. For me, It's a bit weird to eat in the ladies active wear section but, looking at the demographics, I TOTALLY see why it's in that section. Picture lots of older ladies (predominantly 50+ white and Korean ladies) meeting up for a glass of Chardonnay and sharing ....HUGE PLATES OF FRENCH FRIES. I didn't know that's a thing. I find it fascinating. If you're in the mall, give it a go. It's quite the experience and position yourself to people watch.
