Caffe Bene is a solid spot if you're looking for a delicious caffeine fix, to satisfy your sweet tooth, or to hang out and study. The service here is quick and professional. You can tell they put a lot of effort into their food and drinks. As for the ambiance, it's perfect for those who want to hang out and catch up with friends/family or to study. When I visited, there were easily 5 other groups and individuals studying here. I have a big soft spot for banana flavored items. A BIG SOFT SPOT. Banana Cream Pie Latte - this one carries the biggest punch for banana lovers. Banana cream the entire way from start to finish. Not too sweet. Awesome foam top too. I highly recommend drinking these without the straw. Foam top drinks are best appreciated when you get a nice 50:50 ratio of the foam and drink. Banana Matcha Latte - the name speaks for itself. It's a nice mixture of both. So if you're looking to feel a little healthier with the matcha element, then go for it. This was probably the prettiest drink of the 3 that we had. Americano - delicious and got the job done here. I naturally enjoy Ethiopian and Colombian beans. I brew them often at home. I was definitely wide awake after these drinks lol Strawberrynana Waffle - If you LOVE belgian-style waffles like me, then you'll find yourself ordering this again and again. It wasn't too sweet but sweet enough to easily go through 2 or 3 of these plates if you're crazy enough. Banana Walnut Honey Bread - the best for last! I really loved eating brick toast growing up. There were so many stores back in the day that sold them, and now I can't find them as easily. In fact, Caffe Bene is the only place in the South Bay that I know that sells them. My son ordered a sandwich unfortunately I don't remember which one and he said it was amazing. I had a banana coffee drink which was pretty good and his Matcha he said was super good. The only thing that I didn't care for was the restaurant was very hot inside I felt and also we were waiting and waiting and waiting and they never give us our drinks until I asked. Cafe Bene reminds me of those college boba studying days; big spacious room, clearly loved tables and desks and people are actually studying here from what I can see..... large array of drinks and food items to choose from, mostly smoothies and some trendy banana creme drinks, waffles, sandwiches etc. They have a stamp card but its a stamp per purchase. I got their iced blueberry matcha and it was surprisingly really good. The sweet dried up blueberries with the matcha went so great together and I don't even like blueberries all that much. Their self-ordering kiosk was a little confusing since not all pastries were listed, but the counter staff was very kind and helped me place my order at the register. We decided on the Banana Walnut Cake and the Mango Crepe Cake. The Banana Walnut Cake was a letdown--it felt more like a thick slice of Texas Toast than an actual cake. It was warm and tasted fine, but for $13 I expected something more substantial, like a pound cake. The Mango Crepe Cake, on the other hand, was delicious. Came here for a meeting on a Saturday night and the lot was packed. There were other stores and shops and I had to wait a few to get a spot. The place inside is huge and a lot of students inside studying or working on something with their laptops. What's funny was I thought this is Coffee Bean that's why I picked the place and when I got there I realized it's a Korean knock off lol. I ordered the taro latte. It was not too sweet but really hit the spot. It's a cross between coffee and dessert. We were able to find a spot to practice our presentation but felt all the tables were bunched up together so it's hard to get privacy. Overall: they had food/ice cream/desserts on the menu. Caffe Bene used to be a very nice spot. Their main attraction is large space and long hours, great for getting work done and studying. Coffee is not strong, but does have variety of food. Main complaint is cleanliness. Booth areas in the back now have cracked seats, oily fingerprints, and just feels too dirty to stay for studying. This was the main function of this cafe to begin with. I hope they can put more care into that area. read more

I met a couple of mu friends here to do a bit of catching up. I really wanted to try their pumpkin cheesecake but they didn't have any. So I tried the other cheesecake they had instead that had a hard layer of dark chocolate on top. I inhaled the cheesecake and left the chocolate. Lol! I also ordered a mocha frappe. It was yummy. The area we sat in was not as cozy. The chairs were so low that I felt like it was made for kids. Lol! If you don't have good knees, it's a really bad place to sit. This place is an amazing place for those who like to study in coffee shops! It was quiet and calm even though there were quite a bit of people in there. The baristas were very warm and welcoming which made ordering easy and relaxing. The coffee, at least for me, was smooth. I liked the Caramel Latte Macchiato more than the Vanilla Latte. We also tried a Ham and Cheese sandwich without knowing what it had inside. To my surprise it had what I believe was pickled onion! The good: I tried the s'mores honey brick toast with charred marshmallow and an Oreo, a peach mojito refreshment (non-alcoholic) and a liege Belgian waffle with salted caramel gelato on top. I liked the crispy outside of the marshmallow and the soft gooey inside. The presentation of all the items were great. The interior of the shop is massive and has designated areas for laptop use or no laptop use (conversation areas). Lots of people were inside studying or working. The front left space was designated for reservations and groups. They also sold macarons and crepe cakes. I liked the peach drink that bad chunks of fruit at the bottom and fresh mint. The bad: They have croissant sandwiches but it seems like they use Costco croissants or some type of store-bought croissants. I suspect that the waffle is also pre-packaged and then just heated up. The drink was almost $8 which I thought was expensive because it was bubbly soda with syrup and a few fruit chunks. There's no outdoor dining. They have multiple seating areas some of the chairs are comfortable, yet some chairs are a little uncomfortable especially if you are working for a long time. Parking is a little tricky since there's a lot of 30 minute parking slots. I parked by the Del Taco. This cafe has coffee, tea, and sandwiches. There's plenty of seating and it's pretty cozy. Service is passable and simple since it's a cafe quick service place. I had the mushroom sandwich and the cafe au lait. This was a good combination for group work. I wanted to try a new cafe spot & saw this one had pretty good reviews so decided to stop in & was really happy with my decision! Personally all I got was the mango passion fruit smoothie & was honestly shocked by how much I liked it, the person I went with got the teriyaki chicken sandwich & the peach mojito and was also pretty impressed by the taste and quality of both items! I was able to also try a bite of the sandwich and drink & thought they were delicious! The drink was nice and refreshing & peach flavor was nice and subtle, and the sandwich having a good ratio of everything making it pretty good! Also the portion was pretty big and could easily be split between two people (the picture provided only had one half of the sandwich) it was pretty busy with what looked like students or people working, but they have a good amount of tables to sit at so we were still able to sit & eat in a nice chill environment. I'm no coffee connoisseur nor wanting to be one, but it's nice to know that there are lot of choices one can get coffee and treats. Went here with a friend one Saturday morning. Place was empty, space is big though for a coffee spot and looks cozy for a quick break or catching up with friends. I ordered a Caramel Latte Macchiato and tried the Waffle with Whipped Cream and Strawberry. Sweet on Sweet was too much for me, should have known better to just go with black coffee. That order alone is about $18 which is now a days a bit over. It was good though...it's more of an indulgence. Rant about powder for drink change: My favorite drink, pure yogurt smoothie, tastes really bad now. I heard that they changed the powder, but god it taste so awful now... I had to ask if they forgot any ingrediants because the taste was just like really badly washed mop with smoothie texture. The employee was very nice and asked me if I would want some more sugar as the new powder they used is 'not sweet', but I knew that sugar would not do anything.... just asked for a cheaper drink, didn't get refund for the few bucks as the new drink costed less. The only menu I loved was pure yogurt smoothie, and I tried it for probably more than 50 times so I KNOW the original taste. But with that gone, I do not know if I will go here anymore. Im pretty disapointed that a cafe that has been running for a long time just decided to switch using powder that obviously doesn't taste the same and not let the customer know. Honey bread: But, I have to say that the honey bread caramel cinammon was EXTREMELY GOOD. I felt that it was a little too sweet with lots of caramel on the honey bread so I never ordered any other types of honeybreads, but this is really good. It is quite expensive, but it is definetly worth a try if you are busy studying and want something filling inside cafe bene. New drink I LOVE: Misugaru latte TASTES AMAZING. But I knew how it tasted like and was already comfortable with the texture (I dont know how to describe it, you can feel the grinded up powder not in a clump way, but just powdery way...). But if you never tried misugaru latte before, try it before you buy it as some people might not like it. You can get it really cheap in korean markets, or even amazon. Also, although this drink tastes amazing, it is soo SO much cheaper to just buy the powder and mix it in with milk.... You might be thinking: well obviously, what drinks dont? Well yes, its true and I get that stuff like m@tcha its still expensive to make it your own, but misugaru is really REALLY cheap and easy (mix in powder you bought with milk, shake it well) to make. But with my fav drink gone, I might just stick to this. Atmosphere: Overall, the atmosphere is nice. There are a lot of people studying so you won't feel guilty of spending 7+ hrs with one drink. The best spots with a lot of charging station is all the way back of the entrance, and the most popular spot, so if you plan to spend a lot of time here go there as soon as possible. If everything is taken, try to take the closest tables to the charging port and ask the people near charging station if you can charge your device. There is always plenty so you should be able to charge it just fine. It could get a little noisy when there are groups of people meeting here during the afternoon, so I highly recommend bringing a earphone or noise canceling headphones. Some tips, good to knows: The wifi is also on the receipt ONLY if you order from the front. If you order voa kiosk or the machine, the receipt from there wont give you a wifi. In that case, just go to the person on the front and ask for the wifi. They will give you cutouts of the wifi. Also, I never tried this but only heard from other students studying here: there is a menu for hot water that costs like 3 dollars, and you can also get wifi. If you are a poor student trying to study during test season, you could try just getting the hot water. By the way, a tip for anyone reading this review: for smoothie drinks (as smoothies are the only things I tried) the large option DOES NOT CHANGE THE SIZE!! Realized this after spending probably 5 dollars more on large drinks, as $0.50 do cost a lot as it adds up with tax. Do not make the same mistake I did!! read more

Great spot for doing a study session. There is plenty of seating and tables. Only downside is that There are a lack of outlets to charge your computers/electronics and the only section available that had an outlet for me that day was in a section that didn't allow computers so that was a bit confusing for me. Thankfully no one gave me any gruff about using it because I really needed to get my homework done. In terms of food: They no longer have the cheese brick toast that I used to order but the sweet toasts still taste great. The coffee wasn't too shabby either. There's even ice cream so on days like this, it will be perfect to take a load off in that place.
