Store is closed despite posting regular hours.
    Jerry L.

Has not been opened in several months, a shame since IMO it is better than Handels since the ice cream isn't as sweet. A sign is posted outside with operating hours but the store has not been open.

The ice cream isn't anything special, 3 1/2 stars at most. I thought maybe this is a small mom and pop place that will make their own ice with a special recipe... It's not the case, they get it shipped somewhere. The ice cream girl didn't seem to really know how long the place has been opened either... probably just a high school kid working. Inside is nothing special either, a bit plain... service was pleasant. Would I come back here, no, not the type of quality of ice cream they serve and the price of a tiny scoop that cost $4.79. I should have driven to Handel's which is maybe a mile, if that. Lesson learn, go with your first intuition.

Robert, Christina and the man who owned the shop and name I can remember.

We were walking in Redondo Beach and my wife wanted some ice cream. She looked online, saw this place and thought we'd take a look. We got there and the first thing we asked was if they have non-dairy, and they did have one non dairy, which I tried and was very good, so I got a single cup with fudge and caramel and it was very, very good. My wife tasted a couple of flavors and she got a "double" with a couple flavors and really enjoyed hers. When ordering we got into a conversation with Christina, who is the brand new owner of the place. She's a very nice lady, shared a lot about herself and why she bought the place only a couple of months ago and said she works 7 days a week until 6pm and then she has a couple of others who work nights. Her son Robert was also there, who is also a very nice young man. They have all sorts of ice cream and in the rear of the store have a area where they sell cakes. We go down to Redondo Beach a couple times a month and plan on stopping by for more ice cream, and Christina said she'll be getting more non-dairy ice cream, which is really nice.

I have to say when you look in the window and it says our happy place it is so true you come into this place and the owners are amazing. I love Robert. He is always so respectful and sweet. Remembers my name and the ice cream that I like as well. The ice cream here they have so many flavors and they are all delicious. ..And don't get me started with his mom Cristina. She is very caring empathetic and loves her customers. caring empathetic and loves her customers. If anybody's out looking for some delicious treats, this is a must stop by and try and you will be back once you do... looking forward to seeing what happens during the summer for them.. success success, success

When I crave Ice Cream, I go here. Been coming here since we noticed upon moving back to California back in 2020. Their Ice Creams are well crafted and the flavors are both not too far from their name nor are they too sweet. Our go to flavors are Party Animal (which is not available at the moment) and Cookie Monster. But their flavors are definitely worth a try. Then the workers are very kind and polite. And the owner is down to earth and does her best to cater to the customers. Hand & Spoon will forever be "THE" spot for my ice cream fix

    Front of business.

This ice cream shop is not closed. Christina and her husband and sons run it, and they are working hard to give great service with delicious ice cream at competitive prices. They give lots of free samples of their many flavors as well. Try them out. Support small business!

This place caught me by surprise. The shop itself is very unassuming and reminiscent of those down-to-earth ice cream places from my childhood. A colorful sorbet caught my attention called Sour Splash which I sampled. I thought was good but wasn't a flavor I was craving at the time. I asked to sample the dairy-free chocolate and the gal told me that they were out of it. There was also a dairy-free vanilla in the case but the gal let me know they also had a dairy-free soy-based Churro flavor that was brand new. It wasn't even in the display case. She pulled the tub out from a storage spot and gave me a sample. I was sold! It had a delicious cinnamon flavor and pieces of cinnamon-flavored cookie dough. Tasty stuff! https://bit.ly/3cSw1sX A single scoop was under $5 which was the perfect amount for me. The service was friendly. A small amount of tables inside. Not very crowded on a Sunday night and it very much feels like a neighborhood ice cream shop.

I am a palled at the behavior of the owner/manager. I take my autistic son there about every month or so as a part of his outing while the housekeepers clean his bedroom. We hadn't been in months, and had a BOGO coupon we had had a while, but it didn't have an expiration date. After some other errands, we stopped, my son is 26 and too low functioning to take into the store, so he waits for me. He clearly understands we are getting ice cream. I walked into the store and only see a young man behind the counter. I show him my coupon, and he has to ask this woman, who is behind the closed door at the back, and she's on the phone, and says "we don't accept coupons anymore", and before I could say "Ok", she adds, "that was a promotion from like eight months ago". I knew it wasn't that old but really didn't come for myself anyways. I glanced up at the menu, and see a single scoop is six dollars, also thinking to myself, "this is why I only come here for Ryan". I scan ice cream creams, order chocolate chip in a cup, and ask if I can have a cone on top ( easier for me and Ryan). He serves me the tiniest scoop and rings me up and it's seven dollars. I why it was seven dollars, and he said "the is a dollar". I simply replied "I wish I had known that before, and is that really all I get for six dollars?" It's then that " "interjected, just as I was snapping a and said "I'm going to post this". This is where it went sideways with her. She was so upset over it, she took back my ice cream, and I said "I paid for that". She put it back down, got further upset, and requested the refund me and took it back again. That's when my eyes and I said "that is for my autistic son outside in my truck!" She essentially threw it back at me and told me to never come back, and she was refusing to ever serve me again. I laughed at that point and said, "don't worry, I won't and I'm hoping others won't be now too". I did leave letting her know. I have been going to that ice cream location since the a little girl, and it was sad. She probably wasn't going to make it. I have a soft spot for small business and perhaps she's feeling financially stressed so as I'm feeding my son another woman leaves with a double that each single was twice the size of mine. so many ways she could've handled the situation. She even offered me a discount after refusing to accept my coupon, but then I never received any discount except charged a dollar for the cone. Go to handles, or go to 31 if you want ice cream served by friendly people and portions that represent the high price..

The outside has a really cute outdoor seating area with the little decoration on the top. Sorry I do not know what that is called. But the windows and the inside with glass panels, give the place a modern vibe to it. But decorations are very minimalistic; simplicity done in a very stylish way. The place is quiet. Maybe a few would come sometimes, but the place is usually very quiet. I have no complaints for the service. Everything was done well on the part of the staff. The ice cream was sweet. I ordered a Dalgona ice cream. Mostly because, I was thinking of squid games. But ended up loving it. Ice cream was soft serve, very smooth and very sweet. It is a soothing addition after a meal. The syrup was delicious, a little strong but something of my preference. The dalgona bits they added to the top were so crispy and crunchy, and I loved tasting it on top of the smooth ice cream. Enjoyed, but also wished the portion was a little bigger. Thank you Honeymee, for the drinks and ice cream.

The self-serve frozen yogurt machines stood before me like gleaming monuments to dairy perfection. I grabbed a cup with trembling hands, positioning it beneath the first dispenser. The creamy ribbon of vanilla descended in a perfect spiral--smooth, pristine, impossibly white. I pulled the lever on the chocolate swirl. The moment it touched my tongue for a test taste, time stopped. Rich cocoa notes exploded across my palate, balanced perfectly with tangy yogurt cultures. Not too sweet. Not too tart. The temperature exactly cold enough to refresh without causing brain freeze. My taste buds sang in harmony! But the true battlefield lay ahead, the toppings bar. Fresh strawberries, gleaming like rubies. Mochi pieces that promised chewy resistance. Chocolate chips, cookie crumbles, crushed Oreos, gummy bears in every color. Nuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts waiting to add textural complexity. And the sauces! Hot fudge, caramel, strawberry syrup, positioned like weapons in an arsenal. With surgical precision, I assembled my masterpiece. Fresh fruit for brightness. Mochi for chew. A strategic drizzle of caramel forming golden rivers through vanilla peaks. At the register, the final moment: the weigh-in. Worth. Every. Ounce. As the first complete spoonful entered my mouth, all the elements united--creamy, crunchy, chewy, fruity, sweet--a symphony of texture and flavor that could only be described as... PERFECTION
