Yum! Friendly service. Lots of options from donuts, cinnamon rolls, cronuts and event mochi donuts. Plenty of parking. All of the donuts were yummy! They were a hit with the family

My daughter asked for fruity pebbles donuts for her birthday party school. Visited the den day before her birthday and placed a special order. Wow those donuts were huge, crispy pebbles and tasty! They also have great cronuts.

Review #236] Donut Den has been bookmarked for awhile now... I think it's because of their themed donuts for the holidays such as Valentine's, Halloween, Christmas, etc. My son got the dreaded HFM disease from daycare so he's a bit fussy & has trouble eating due to the mouth sores. Donut Den to the rescue (at least I was hoping)! The shop is located in the same plaza as Ross Dress for Less, so there's plenty of open parking spaces. :-) When you check-in on Yelp, you can redeem a free donut without making a purchase; however, it's only available Mondays-Wednesdays. Though it says 1 free sample of my choice, the guy gave me a Glazed Donut (I wanted a different one for my freebie) & was trying to hurry me along (his body language was agitated) as there are customers piling in. Luckily. I previewed DD's pics earlier so I quickly ordered my 1/2 dozen: Cronut, Cinnamon Roll, Sprinkles Cake, Orange Cake, Apple-Filled Crumb, & French Cruller. No creatively decorated donuts on this Wednesday morning. M didn't have much of a breakfast so I thought the donuts could whet his appetite for lunch (& they did). The cinnamon roll was fluffy & pillow-light, & filled will cinnamon goodness; there were heavy streaks of cinnamon spice throughout the roll, & it was still mildly warm. The surprise was the Crumb Donut! :-O =) At least that was what it looked like until you take a bite, then you get a taste of this oozing apple pie-like filling. WOW! M kept begging for more so I portioned out the Apple-Filled Crumb Donut with a fruit & veggie smoothie for his lunch; it helped him drink/finish his lunch. ;-) I took a small bite of DD's version of a cronut (still haven't tried the real thing yet, but it'll be easier now that Chef Ansel has a L.A. location)... it was simply made, cinnamon sugar, without any filling. While it was somewhat flaky & crispy, but it was very greasy; I can't imagine if the taste & texture will hold up a few hours later. I'm a bit disappointed since the other 2 were executed well. No matter, I found my favs & will definitely be back for more since I regularly shop across the street at Sprouts. Is that a good thing or bad? Hehehe... ;-)

Ok it was my first time here and the lady who I'm guessing owns the shop was so friendly and sweet. I told her it my first time and she gave me an extra free doughnut. They are fresh and delicious. This breakfast sandwhich was also made quickly and super tasty for price.

Why only one side though? Boba was bad, they ran water over it really fast. Drink was okay
    Adrienne D.

Subpar. The customer service is terrible! The guy who's always there isn't friendly and always seems to be annoyed. He will sometimes ignore your questions which I find odd. The Thai tea is watery and the boba comes out of a container from the fridge. They run water over it really quickly and put it in your drink. Yes it's as bad as it sounds. I wasn't expecting boba shop quality but I wasn't expecting that either. The taro smoothie was okay but I've had better. The donuts are pretty average. I've had the ham and cheese croissant and it was alright. The croissant could be better. I've had a few other donuts but they're nothing to remember. This place would get 3 stars for average donuts but the customer service brings it down a star. I don't shop where I feel like my business isn't valued. Next!

If you're tired of the same ol' glutenous donuts that make you feel very fat, full and/or unhealthy, you need to come down to Donut Den! Today, I finally tried it for the first time and damn...it's GREAT! The difference between this donut place and every other local and Winchell's donut places around here is the fact that these donuts are so un-greasy, it's like you're biting into a toasted hawaiian bread dough style donut or something. That's how toasty and smooth these donuts are! They are as fluffy as the inside of a croissant! Seriously, if you've been to Korea or Europe and have tasted the DUNKIN DONUTS in any of those places, that is what I compare Den's Donuts to when it comes to the quality and taste! TIP: Don't be surprised if this place is "closed" all of a sudden, it has weird schedules, but at least it's near Redondo Beach and a Ross!? Trust me, if you want a really great alternative donut to Krispy Kreme, Winchell's and your regular local donut shops, Donut Den is the perfect place to hit up!

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. Recommended: Boston Cream $3.95 Butter Pistachio $4.95 Cookies & Cream $3.95 Crème Brûlée $4.95 Lemon Poppyseed $3.95 Raspberry Ring $3.95

Creamy, milky, and a perfect balance of sweetness that coats the tongue. Favorite donuts for today's visit include butter and salt and blueberry cheesecake. Fresh, they eat more like a pastry--super moist, rich without being heavy, and none of that dry crumble. Chocolate (Valrhona) is the one--deep, smooth, perfectly tender. The vegan strawberry matcha is a sleeper hit--the strawberry glaze smells like a field of ripe berries and actually makes you pause before the first bite, with the matcha keeping it grounded. They only had two raised that day, but both delivered. Vanilla was soft and airy, and the huckleberry had that bright tart-sweet glaze with zero fake flavor. Only note: don't over-order. The donuts are always fresh, soft, and made exactly the way you hope a neighborhood donut shop would make them. I'd honestly put them up there with some of the best donuts in the area. My personal favorite is the glazed twist. There's something about how light and airy it is that makes it stand out from everywhere else. It has that perfect texture where it almost melts in your mouth with every bite, without ever feeling too heavy or overpowering. Pair it with a fresh coffee in the morning and it's hard to beat. I've noticed some people complaining about the credit card processing fee, but personally, I think supporting small businesses means understanding the realities of running one. Places like this aren't giant chains with massive corporate margins, they're LOCAL spots that have been serving the community for years and doing it well. If a small processing fee helps them continue making great food, and staying afloat in an increasingly expensive market, that feels like a fair trade-off to me. I'd much rather support a family-run shop like this than see places with real character disappear. If you don't like the fee, you can simply pay with cash next time.

They charge $1.00 to use your credit card even if you are just buying one donut or one sandwich…read more This is excessive! Merchant credit card processing fees typically range from 1.5% to 3.5% per transaction, covering interchange, assessment, and processor fees. Common processors like Square and Stripe often charge 2.6%-2.9% plus 10 to 30 cents for swiped or online transactions). So $1.00 no matter the transaction is ripping you off. Do the math and charge a flat additional percentage per transaction. That would be fair. $1.00 for a $5.00 transaction is 20%! It's the principle.
