Old school mom and pop donut shop. It's a staple in south Torrance for a reason. Very friendly owners. Priced well. Come here early and you'll find old timers occupying a both and catching up on life. Come before the school bell and you'll find teenagers meeting up for a donut and shenanigans They play the classics and keep it simple. The blueberry cake donut is a sleeper. We usually go to Randy's Donuts because they're good and consistent. But we had errands to run near Donut Den so we stopped in to get a half dozen. What a disappointment. I've been here before a few years ago and I don't remember the donuts being so lame. The guy was hard to understand and wasn't very friendly. I asked if the Fritters were crispy, and he just picked one up with the tongs and showed it to me. I said okay I'll have one in addition to a few different ones. It was not crispy and the chocolate buttermilk was kinda pasty inside. The lemon-filled that my wife got only had a tiny squirt of filling. Overall a fail and we won't be returning. read more

I think it's because of their themed donuts for the holidays such as Valentine's, Halloween, Christmas, etc. My son got the dreaded HFM disease from daycare so he's a bit fussy & has trouble eating due to the mouth sores. Donut Den to the rescue (at least I was hoping)! The shop is located in the same plaza as Ross Dress for Less, so there's plenty of open parking spaces. :-) When you check-in on Yelp, you can redeem a free donut without making a purchase; however, it's only available Mondays-Wednesdays. Though it says 1 free sample of my choice, the guy gave me a Glazed Donut (I wanted a different one for my freebie) & was trying to hurry me along (his body language was agitated) as there are customers piling in. Luckily. I previewed DD's pics earlier so I quickly ordered my 1/2 dozen: Cronut, Cinnamon Roll, Sprinkles Cake, Orange Cake, Apple-Filled Crumb, & French Cruller. No creatively decorated donuts on this Wednesday morning. M didn't have much of a breakfast so I thought the donuts could whet his appetite for lunch (& they did). The cinnamon roll was fluffy & pillow-light, & filled will cinnamon goodness; there were heavy streaks of cinnamon spice throughout the roll, & it was still mildly warm. The surprise was the Crumb Donut! :-O =) At least that was what it looked like until you take a bite, then you get a taste of this oozing apple pie-like filling. WOW! M kept begging for more so I portioned out the Apple-Filled Crumb Donut with a fruit & veggie smoothie for his lunch; it helped him drink/finish his lunch. ;-) I took a small bite of DD's version of a cronut (still haven't tried the real thing yet, but it'll be easier now that Chef Ansel has a L.A. location)... it was simply made, cinnamon sugar, without any filling. While it was somewhat flaky & crispy, but it was very greasy; I can't imagine if the taste & texture will hold up a few hours later. I'm a bit disappointed since the other 2 were executed well. 09.14.2021 Purchased doughnuts at 7am. These are a poor excuse of a doughnut store. When you step in take a nice glance at the glazed doughnut. You'll notice they don't glaze the entire doughnut. Subpar. The customer service is terrible! The guy who's always there isn't friendly and always seems to be annoyed. He will sometimes ignore your questions which I find odd. The Thai tea is watery and the boba comes out of a container from the fridge. They run water over it really quickly and put it in your drink. Yes it's as bad as it sounds. I wasn't expecting boba shop quality but I wasn't expecting that either. The taro smoothie was okay but I've had better. The donuts are pretty average. I've had the ham and cheese croissant and it was alright. The croissant could be better. I've had a few other donuts but they're nothing to remember. Good doughnuts in Torrance area. I work a nightshift in the Redondo Beach/Torrance area and stop by here on Saturday or Sunday morning at around 7:15am for a dozen doughnuts. Usually there are a couple people in line. And some people, probably regulars, sitting and having coffee inside. The service is friendly and most important, the doughnuts are good. Not chewy or dense, but just right. I usually get the traditional regular glazed, glazed with chocolate, twists, old fashioned, and jelly filled. I've never experienced bad service here and I've been stopping by for the last 2 years on weekend mornings. They greet and say hello and have never been rude to me. read more

Oof. It's not good. Technique is poorly executed and donuts aren't fresh. Croissants are bloated like they were not folded enough times and the dough was not chilled before heading into the oven. Glazes are over-sugared and lacking flavor despite how sweet. Texture of the old fashioned is mushy. I wouldn't go again, but as a testament to how affordable the place is there were two homeless gentlemen placing orders and purchasing lotto's while I was there, so if your only criteria is a cheap donut regardless of quality, this is the spot for you. read more

If you're tired of the same ol' glutenous donuts that make you feel very fat, full and/or unhealthy, you need to come down to Donut Den! Today, I finally tried it for the first time and damn...it's GREAT! The difference between this donut place and every other local and Winchell's donut places around here is the fact that these donuts are so un-greasy, it's like you're biting into a toasted hawaiian bread dough style donut or something. That's how toasty and smooth these donuts are! They are as fluffy as the inside of a croissant! Seriously, if you've been to Korea or Europe and have tasted the DUNKIN DONUTS in any of those places, that is what I compare Den's Donuts to when it comes to the quality and taste! TIP: Don't be surprised if this place is "closed" all of a sudden, it has weird schedules, but at least it's near Redondo Beach and a Ross!? I just moved to Cali recently and was really surprised at the donut culture here! I plan on trying as many donut shops as possible! Donut Den was first on my list! I went today around 9a. I was the only one in the shop and the man (I'm assuming the owner) greeted me and asked what I wanted. I got a baker's dozen, a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Coffee is on the weaker side which I don't mind, but for anyone trying to get punched in the face with a dose of caffeine, it won't be from this cup. Once I got home, I took a bite of each donut. Literally. I must say, I'm very impressed! The donuts are light, airy and fluffy without coating your mouth with oil! I think I'm in love. I can't even choose a favorite because they're all so good! The raspberry-filled had a lot of filling in it too compared to other places I've tried. The chocolate frosting is also sooooo good too! Melts in your mouth. The cronuts, I've had better but they're def not bad. I think I'll stick with the regular donuts next time. Worth a try if you've never had a cronut before though. Highly recommend! Oh before I forget. I read other reviews in regards to the mask situation. When I was there, everyone working had a mask on. And everyone coming through the door had a mask on. read more

I like their donuts, but here's why I gave only 3 stars: I've bought donuts from here 3 times. 2 out of 3 times, I was overcharged. The first time, I figured they made an honest mistake. Today, I asked for a dozen donuts ($12). At the registered, I was told $13.50! I asked if the prices went up. She said "no, I gave you 13 donuts!" Which is fine...I can always use an extra donut at work. I got to work, opened the box, there were 12 donuts in there!!! I'm not sure about how "healthy" this donut is. I believe they make them the traditional frying way but without trans fats which is great that they don't use trans fats and you can actually really taste the difference between this shop and others' donuts(esp in the crumb cake donut). These are the beat donuts in this area! We've tried 5 other donut shops and these are by far the best. Don't miss the buttermilk glazed and the apple-filled crumb! I just found my new favorite donut spot. They have the cheapest donut holes ever so I bought a dozen! I also had the vanilla sprinkle donut and the chocolate sprinkle donut. Delicious. Yesterday at 10:30 AM the selection was so bad I was embarrased for them. The guy behind the counter should have closed shop. Just odd. I like this place. The donuts are fresh, not too heavy, and taste really good. It's a family owned business with Dad, Mom, and the kids taking care of customers every morning. They are extremely nice and warm people, and I enjoy giving them my business. I would go here every morning if I could, but since it gets dark early this time of year I can't go running as much as I'd like to and I'd blow up if I ate donuts every day. I finished it before I even started on my coffee!
