We ordered the smallest size Jannesa's strawberry vanilla vegan cake w/fruit inside. It was an absolute hit for our birthday gathering. The strawberry whipped cream was perfect, the cake was moist & the added fruit made it just about the best cake I've ever had. I thought it would be too small for our party of 7 but it could have served double that. I cannot wait to try the other vegan flavor flavors! The staff are very welcoming and helpful too. You must come by and check Cara Mia out.

Hi , [[HIGHLIGHT]]this place is super cute and cozy, perfect for working and gathering with your friends[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] , I tried the cold brew coffee and it was delicious.

    Chocolate Chip Cookie

One time I happened to past by CMB, I saw someone walking out with 3 large boxes - that was a good sign. Today upon entering CMB, I saw the same thing. I decided to get a croissant, chocolate chip cookie and a regular coffee. The croissant was flaky, light and buttery. Nice chunky chocolate chips in the cookie. There's a little bit of salt on top of the cookie to give it some contrast. The coffee was quite smooth. Service was very friendly and prompt.

Inspo pic with ombre frosting and small translucent balls and fake butterfly toppers that I would have to supply

I am writing my review a second time because my first review was removed by Yelp saying I used AI to write my review. I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism from the owner Tina Brown. Last year I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was a 4 inch cake with an add on design of pink color and white polka dots and her name and I brought a topper to add on the day of pick up. The cake was $50 plus $10 for the design fee for a total of $60. This year I wanted a 6 inch cake and found an ombre design they did on a past Instagram post on Cara Mia bakery. I also found some different butterflies I liked and lavender with pink colors. Previously I texted the baker to order and I called that my text didn't get a reply and they said to emails and they don't text anymore. I emailed the two photos and that I wanted a 6 inch cake in Janessa's strawberry cake. Tina Brown replied that it would be $148. I was surprised at the price jump from $60 for a small 4 inch cake to $148 for a 6 inch cake because she said I would purchase the butterfly topper and have to bring it in 4 days in advance to color match. She did not offer to buy and order them and charge me the cost. I replied what is the breakdown for the pricing of the cake. I went to their website and checked the cake is $78 for Janessa's cake, and if you want strawberries inside which she didn't quote it's $15 so that's $93. So I was confused as to why it's $55 extra to make an ombre cake with little clear balls around it and stick butterflies on it. Mixing 3 ombre colors when one color is already white and then using a spatula to create lines does not appear to be $55 of work. $55 for "custom design " is a lot. We went back and forth emailing and Tina said its because the cake is organic and hand made so it's $148. Then I said I know the cake itself is at most $93 for strawberries inside but why is it $55 for the ombre and small clear balls when there isn't really a design because it's sticking on butterflies that are already made and I have to buy and deliver them 4 days in advance. I also did not ask for a name on it like it had last year. In the last email Tina Brown said that I didn't "see the value" in their skill level for an ombre cake and because I didn't like the price for it she is " unable to make me a cake within my budget." This is after I even asked what is the price for one color of the the cake which is $83 and I was thinking about one color and doing the butterflies myself but she said she can't make me a cake at all now. This really upset me that even though I was asking ok what price is it for two ombre colors or one solid color, she didn't want to work with me to find a design within my budget. It's not really a design though because I didn't ask for flowers or fondant shapes of butterflies and her name on it. So I wrote my review and then she replied on here saying your name is not Mary S your real name is "-----" and wrote my full legal name and then she copied and pasted most of our email exchanges with my email signature that had my full name, professional title and certifications and then she wrote "l have removed your phone number and email for your privacy" but she repeatedly put my full name about 6 times with my professional credentials and job title. So I reported this to Yelp that it violated privacy rules and Yelp removed her response saying it violated their Content Guidelines. She also messaged me saying it was dishonest to use a false name and not tell the truth in my review. I reported this message to Yelp and they replied to me that they sent her a warning about her behavior. There is no rule on Yelp that you have to put your real name and last initial but she felt she had to expose my full legal first and last name multiple times. I did tell the truth in my review. I also wrote the same review on Google and she wrote the same response on Google with my full name and credentials and job title. I already had my full name for the review but putting my job title and credential in her response from our private emails 6 times is not necessary. She is aware of this and didn't remove it. I reported it to Google for privacy violation as well. The response to my review as of today 4/1/26 is still up and if she were professional she would edit her response to remove my credentials and job title because that is private and irrelevant and she said she removed my email address and number from the signature for my "privacy" but not those items so actually it is not protecting my privacy. Overall I am not happy she said I can't get a cake made because I don't value it and don't have a budget for it and also beyond that can't believe my full legal name, credential and job title was on the response here multiple times and it remains on Google.

    Delicious custom cake!

The employees are very nice and patient when there is a rush. Their pastries are so tasty and they even offer vegan/gluten free sweet treats. Anytime I have a family event or get together, I like to order a dozen or 2 of their lemon and blueberry scones! Everyone devours them and their custom cakes are beautiful.

Vegan chocolate date scone. New flavor for me.
    Janelle J.

Renamed bakery and cafe - same goodness! I've never seen this vegan chocolate date scone before so I had to try. I have a few reward cards filled so I got a free drip coffee today. I tried one of the new paninis - vegan grilled cheese. The hypotenuse on that thing is 7 inches. Totally shareable or seconds. I always buy more than one item to taste throughout the day. Most of their flavor-filled croissants are fancy with pinch pleats. Last week I was lucky and made it in the nick of time to taste the Nutty Irishman after St. Patty's Day (old clip of my first taste). Service is always great! The owner knows me by name teehee. I also find the decor comfy and cozy with barstool and sofa seating options. If I lived closer I'd have a seat.

    Banana bread--absolute must-try

Super delish, every treat, cake, and pastry was amazing! They even had a bunch of free samples to try. Staff was very friendly and provided great recommendations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of seating and games to play while you eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely stop by if you're a sweets lover like I am!

Ask the Community - Cara Mia Baking

What flour do you use in the gf items (brownie and almond cake)?

Every GF item actually contains a custom GF mix depending on the item! We make our GF mixes in-house. Some contain rice flour and starches, and some, such as the Almond Ricotta cake, are made with almond flour.

Is this still the same Trim Tart bakery?

Yes, same ownership, just a name change of the business from what I understand.

Are the vegan pastries made with soy?

Cakes, cupcakes, chocolate chip & snickerdoodle cookies contain soy. Our soy-free vegan pastries are: vegan scones, vegan danish cookies, almond bars and Vegan Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Do you do vegan cakes, my son is allergic to eggs and cow's milk, and his bday is coming up we wanted him to have at least a bday cake he can eat with everyone? - possibly do a small smash cake

Yes, they do! And they are delicious!!

Do you have any dessert/cake options for someone with gestational diabetes?

Hello! I had gestational diabetes, so I totally understand. We can make cakes sugar-free upon request, but they will not be otherwise low-carb.

Do you offer any gluten free baked goods?

Yes we offer a variety of gluten-free pastries daily, and can make GF celebration cakes upon request.

Is this a keto friendly shop?

Hi Tracy - we are working on a chocolate cake right now that is keto friendly. Our coffee bar currently offers heavy cream for coffees and lattes. Stay tuned for the arrival of our cake!

I picked up the hot dog and brioche, which I will describe below. Cleanliness is top-notch, never had a complaint about dirty spots. The displays are cleaned to perfection, absolutely spot-less. Hot Dog The hot dog is spicy and sweet mixed into a savory bread. The crust is so soft with crispy edges. That bread made me so full the entire day. So first things first, be aware that this Paris Baguette is actually inside Hannam Chain Supermarket at Village Del Amo on the southwest corner of Torrance and Hawthorne. I didn't know it at the time, so I circumnavigated the plaza, looking for Paris Baguette signage like I usually do for the other standalone locations. After stopping my car somewhere in the plaza, I had to double-check the location to be inside the Hannam Chain Supermarket, which I had just literally passed by minutes ago. D'oh! lol I hadn't even heard of Hannam Chain Supermarket, so I took some time to explore the store even though Paris Baguette is literally closest to the entrance. The overall selection of baked goods kind of disappointed me because it felt like there were fewer choices of pastries here compared to the other locations I've been to before. However, oddly enough, they had more selections available! I think it's because they have time stamps listed on each pastry so that the pastries are inside the display case for no more than 4 hours. I thought the pastries would have remained good at least until the end of the day, so to hear of their 4 hour shelf life was a bit surprising to me. For the record, I've been to several other Paris Baguettes before, but this was the first time I noticed these time stamps. Even though the variety of pastries was not as much compared to the other standalone locations, I still had a difficult time deciding which pastry to get! However, I noticed a new flavor of a supreme croissant I hadn't seen before: pink velvet. I've heard of red velvet, but not pink, and presuming that this is a seasonal offering for Valentine's Day, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try one before that special day. They had other supreme croissant flavors like chocolate and salted caramel pretzel, but I'm sure those flavors will be offered for much longer than the pink velvet. I do remember trying a strawberry supreme croissant from the Cerritos location, so perhaps after Valentine's Day, that would take the place of the pink velvet. After grabbing one of two Pink Velvet Supreme Croissants left in the display case, I made my way around and to the register. Phone in hand, I had the Paris Baguette app pulled up to redeem my reward. Actually, a good part of me had thought that this location inside Hannam Chain wouldn't honor my reward because for Tous Les Jours, the locations inside Hmart wouldn't be eligible for earning points or redeeming rewards. Luckily, Paris Baguette is not Tous Les Jours, and I was able to redeem my reward with no trouble. The cashier who rang me up was pretty friendly as well. She placed my Pink Velvet Supreme Croissant in a small paper bag and wished me a good day. While there are a handful of tables inside the food hall portion of Hannam Chain, most were occupied by customers of other eateries, so I simply went outside to enjoy my free sweet treat. The pink velvet ruby chocolate that covered the top portion of the round croissant didn't have nearly as much flavor, though the Valentine's sprinkles on top did make for a nice touch at least. Also, the custard cream inside didn't taste like anything at all! It wasn't bad, but it makes me wonder how much more flavorful the salted caramel pretzel would have been. I'll be sure to get that on my next visit to a Paris Baguette! I got the croissant about 2.5 hours after they were prepared, so maybe they would have tasted better had I gone 2 hours earlier? Lastly, I'm kind of shocked that this is pretty much the only Paris Baguette location in the South Bay. With how expansive a city like Torrance is, you would think they'd have at least a second location elsewhere like in Hmart. Otherwise, the next closest location would be in Long Beach, which literally just opened at The Pike Outlets. Overall, it's not a bad Paris Baguette to go to, but if you live in the South Bay, you'd be better off downloading the 85C Bakery app over the Paris Baguette app as there are much more 85C locations in the area. They close at 8:30 and I came in 2 hours before. The pastries leftover were scooched over and the labels did not match entirely what they were. It was difficult to know what I was picking up onto the tray. There was also a small fruit fly or gnat flying around inside the bakery case as well. The icing of the orange donut thing also got stuck to the box and we had to scrape it off... Out of 4 pastries none of them were really that good, it really made me not want to come back. I also ordered a plain iced coffee and the coffee quality is not good at all. Tastes like it was made from a Mr coffee machine at home. Service was friendly. She explained each pastry when we asked what we picked up. Small location inside the market. Parking in the plaza. Restrooms are located within the building.

Amazing bakery in the Fullerton area! Everything I had here was good and delicious…read more There were so many unique and pretty pastries to choose from from cakes to croissants. I got so many pastries. There were no misses. My favorite of the bunch was the blueberry cake. The cake wasn't too sweet, was moist, fluffy, and tasty. I enjoyed the matcha cheesecake, garlic sea salt bread, and raspberry cruffin as well. I also grabbed an egg bacon bread and regular sea salt bread to-go for future breakfasts. Warmed up, these were great in the morning! To drink I had the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte which was not too sweet and yummy! Good matcha flavor and the banana pudding was creamy. Mixed together, it was good. I also enjoyed the crunchy bits in there as well as the real banana slices. I got it at the small size, but the portion was generous. It went well with the pastries. There's some inside seating and tables as well as a bathroom available. There is lots of free parking around the bakery. I went in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was still packed! I love how the bakers were constantly baking even in the afternoon, so they brought out fresh batches of their pastries. Overall, a great bakery and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Fullerton area.

The variety is definitely one of the strongest points here. We tried the Matcha Cruffin, Onion Cream Bread, and Three Cheese Bagel. The Onion Cream Bread was the best of the three. The cream was light and balanced well with the bread, but the onion flavor was pretty much lost. I could barely taste it. The Matcha Cruffin was disappointing. There was matcha powder on top, but absolutely no matcha filling inside. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe or simply missed the filling in ours, but for something sold as a matcha cruffin, I expected an actual matcha presence beyond the topping. The Three Cheese Bagel, made with cheddar, cream cheese, and mozzarella, had good flavor but the texture was much too hard. We were dining in and had it warmed up, yet the bread was still tough and the cheese inside had already hardened. Service was fine, but nothing stood out. Overall, great selection and a nice space, but the pastries we tried were inconsistent.

The shop is exceptionally clean, organized, and tidy. Although the line wrapped out the door, the wait time was minimal because management clearly properly staffed the floor to handle high-volume rush hours efficiently. James assisted us at the register and provided outstanding, prompt service. We ordered the Chrome Latte, Banana Cream Latte, and Strawberry Milk. Every item was crafted with precision, well-balanced in flavor, and clearly made from quality ingredients. The pricing is entirely fair and accurately reflects the caliber of product and service delivered. Highly recommended five-star spot, well worth the drive.

You can still taste the matcha without it being too bitter. I also tried their Biscoff coffee from the secret menu and really liked it. It had a nice coffee flavor with a subtle cookie butter taste that wasn't overly sweet. The space is really cute and aesthetic, but it does get pretty busy. There was a line when I went, but it moved pretty quickly so the wait wasn't bad at all. Would definitely come back to try some of their other drinks.
