This is a spacious coffee shop in Torrance that is excellent for working and grabbing a coffee or some dessert. I went here around 4pm on a Tuesday to wrap up some work while waiting for a friend and ordered the Misugaru (multigrain) latte. For $7+ it's a bit pricey but decent, not too sweet, though they didn't really fill the drink all the way, but I trust it's close to 16oz. It has a bunch of grains like barley, black soybean, brown rice, black rice, and black sesame mixed in, with milk to complete the drink. I would've expected a bit more flavor but the drink is fine. This is one of the go-to spots for college students living in the south bay. That being said, during the week in the evenings especially, seating can be extremely limited, and a good amount of the tables do not have access to the outlets. The tables that do get taken quickly. If you are coming here to study, there are tables that come to socialize, and though there is a no laptop area specifically for that, they do often sit among the tables of students, but throw your headphones on and turn on the noise cancellation, I know I have had to many times. As for the drinks and food, their drinks are pretty basic, not the best i've ever had but also not bad. Their food can be on the expensive side but if you're hungry, the sandwiches are delicious. I will say, if you are not familiar with korean style sandwiches you may find even the savory sandwiches to be sweet due to the mustard seed "sauce" found on most of them, but it's what makes them so good! read more

Came in around 9:20ish with a wooden sign that said closed but a sign that said open til 10pm. There were people inside so I walked in and asked a worker and they said yes they close at 10pm. When I tried to order, they said the kitchen was closed and that all food items not being served. I was excited to get a matcha banana cream latte , unfortunately it did not look like I was expecting no cream top or banana. I tried it and taste of banana was one sip and just all matcha , still good but a little disappointing . We got Oreo cookie gelato and "Oreo cookie cheesecake". What we ended up with was Oreo cookie gelato that taste like a lot of coconut was used in making it, and instead of Oreo cookie cheesecake, we got Oreo cookie crepe cake. All of this was because the person taking the order was acting like they didn't want to be at work. They took the order and gave 1 gelato when we asked for 2 and gave crepe cake instead of cheesecake. Both were not bad but wasn't exactly what I asked for or was expecting. Someone else behind the counter asked was everything ok and we said no we were supposed to get 2 gelato's so they scooped us a second gelato and charged us for it. Everything there is expensive. For 2 gelatos and 1 crepe cake that we received cost $30. Thirty dollars for 3 things and bad service. This could be a really great cafe if the workers were pleasant. Caffe Bene is a cute cafe with lots of space to work or meet up with friends. They have a large variety of treats and drinks. My daughter wanted a mango smoothie, and I was craving a sweet treat. I ordered her mango smoothie and got this huge banana and walnut honey bread. The mango smoothie was made quickly, but it took a little while for my banana and walnut honey bread. The mango smoothie was really bad. It tasted really artificial and just terrible. Both my daughter and I couldn't even take a second sip. But man o man, the banana and walnut honey bread were terrific! It was warm, sweet, moist, and delicious! I would definitely come back for more. I would be open to trying a coffee, but I would avoid fruity drinks. read more

I don't usually come here because I prefer grabbing my coffee through a drive-thru but Coffee Bean and Starbucks were both busy. Got here at 9 am when they're supposed to be open. Wooden sign on the door still says closed. I poke my head in to ask if they're open and both employees are like "no, we open at 9." I'm like.. it's 9 and they go "okay sure then". And then they both proceed to go back to ignoring me. I put in my order at the mobile kiosk and the drink gets made after maybe 5 minutes. No issue here. Coffee is a 3, but service is a 1. This is a hard no for me. Sorry, I took one sip and didn't swallow it at first as the texture was weird and then when I finally did, it was odd. I took another sip (this time I mixed it) and still gross; overly sweet, sour, artificial... just plain nasty. I threw it away as the drink was not drinkable... I don't like to waste money but I also don't want to drink something this is straight up disgusting. I didn't eat anything here but if their coffee is any indication of their food... yikes. I tried the hot misugaru latte since it was advertised as one of their classics and a healthy multigrain drink. The drink is slightly sweet with the barley and grain flavor standing out as the most prominent flavors. It's definitely a drink worth trying if you're looking to expand your palette. If you need to charge your devices, I highly recommend sitting against the wall because none of the center seating has access to outlets. The atmosphere was amazing, very beautiful interior. I ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich and a mocha, the mocha was done quite a while before the sandwich though. If you order a sandwich that has bean sprouts, I recommend ordering it with light bean sprouts because dear god, I got about half way through that sandwich where most of the chicken was gone already and it was like biting down on a nest of worms, there were so many bean sprouts it was a decent sandwich though. This is a really nice looking place. I like the simplicity, the environment and the music. I got a frappe and a pastry (See picture attached) which both were delicious. Now here is my issue with this place, they have young people at the cashier and most of them have a bad attitude, from the cashier to the person who gave me the drinks. Service could be better. I have gone a couple of times as it is one of the few cafes that are open past 5 and I usually go to study. There is nothing special about the service and baristas have never really given a smile. Once there was a baseball game that I believe the owner was playing on the tv in the lobby, but the calm environment soon became chaotic as the game went on and I was disturbed from my work (people cheering and loud talking even after the game had finished) . Went here for a post-dinner dessert drink. The cafe is located at the end of a plaza packed with restaurants. Parking can be pretty difficult especially around lunch and dinner time. Inside, there is a large space with plenty of tables and chairs that you can eat/drink/work at, definitely has a nice calm ambience to it. On the side opposite from the tables there is the ordering area where you can order pastry, ice cream, coffee, tea, waffles, pancakes... honestly there are a lot of options, you can probably find SOMETHING you're interested in for sure. We ordered the lemon mojito (mocktail) since neither of us wanted anything heavy and the drink was pretty solid, nice and sweet and sparkly. I asked one of the workers why the price charged didn't match the price displayed. She responded that it was because it included the tax, which didn't make sense because there was an additional tax charge. I asked a different worker why the price charged was different and she said it was always $18.55 even though I showed her the sign. She said there was nothing she could do since the manager wasn't there. That's unfortunate because food, service, & ambiance tend to be good and this time it was otherwise. I was with my toddler that has a condition as soon as I went in the barista a young man told me that my son who was listening to his iPad without headphones to put the volume down. I explained to him that he had a medical condition he still was rude and insisted on him putting volume down. I almost walked out but I had been wanting to taste this place.
