Dessert: 3.5. Came by on a Sunday around 1 pm. Place is located in a shopping center next to King's Hawaiian. This is a small place with inside and outside seating. Place was mostly empty when we arrived. I ordered their OG Snow Bowl Combo ($15.75) which comes with their OG Snow Bowl and a "fresh baked rice cake". Dessert was ready timely and you pick it up at the counter. Dessert looked appetizing. Flavor was good but a simpler bingsoo then my favorite from a different business which includes a scoop of ice cream, preferably ube. Staff was lvery friendly and helpful. I definitely felt welcome.
I first visited Okrumong for a coffee outing and was impressed to see that they offer Stereoscope coffee! I've had Stereoscope coffee before in the OC and became a fan. I'm so glad that I can get this coffee here in the South Bay. During that same coffee outing, I was treated to some Okrumong's shave ice. My friend and I tried the Red Bean Shave Ice with mochi. The shave was so smooth. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up coming back to Okrumong a few weeks later and tried their Strawberry Shave Ice. The Strawberry Shave Ice is such a refreshing treat. They pack it with strawberries! It's delicious and a great treat for a hot day. I thought the shave ice would be my favorite treat here but it turns out their takiyaki is it what really won my heart. You have to order at least two pieces and I chose to get their mozzarella cheese and custard. They make these fresh with each order. It comes out piping hot and is so delicious. The mozzarella is a definite must try! Overall I am quite the Okrumong fan. From their coffee to their takiyaki, this spot is the perfect place to visit for a treat!
Okrumong is right by Jang Su Jang, so I'm sure it draws a lot of their clientele who are interested in a different kind of dessert. They offer Snow Bowls as a special cold sweet treat. But wisely, they also offer it in a mini version, which is great for those who want a different flavor from their DC, or just don't want to share. I went with the Original mini with red bean $8.50. My DC got their Black mini (black sesame) $9.50. Mine was good, but could do with a bit more of the sweet milk deeper down the ice. I did finish my cup.
the shop is fairly small but has about 8 to 10 tables indoor and limited outdoor seatings. The interior decor was classy. The shop was very busy during weekend dinner time. It was full. The noise level was medium. Most patrons kept their voices down at the normal level. The ordering process was traditional. Order was placed at the counter with a server. Order was ready within timely manner. Very presentable as well. The added side red bean portion was a but small. The ice was fluffy and sweet. The mixture with sweetened sesame powder was delicious. For me. It was subjectively too sweet, but may be perfect for you. The price was fairly reasonable. Overall. It was a great experience. This place gets a 4.5 out of 5.
Cute, tiny shaved ice/tea place next to one of my favorite Korean restaurants. This cozy corner has excellent and nicely portioned shaved ice. Seating was plentiful and there is a great parking lot for the plaza. The shaved ice was not overly sweet which I prefer. I'd prefer no whipped cream. The service is quick - your order and sit and wait.
I've been here once before but I don't think I got anything. The vibes are cute. It has a random sink in the front which I think is pretty funny but also convenient. They also have some pretty interesting books on the shelf, I was reading some of the titles. I got the Oreo mini snow. It was fire. I usually dont go for Korean bingsoo desserts because I'm not a fan of red bean so I'm glad there was an Oreo option. I love cookies n cream ice cream! It was effing freezing tho so I was rocking back and forth tryna keep my body temperature up LOL. But it was worth it. My friend got the OG red bean mini snow and 2 taiyakis. There's a minimum 2 per order. There's plenty of parking in this plaza because the plaza is more parking than anything else lol
Shaved ice and similar desserts are something that we enjoy grabbing whenever we are in the area and for some reason, this one just did not impress. The ground up black sesame on this one tasted like expired ground coffee. The place was very quiet on the Thursday night and while the stuff was very sweet, it seemed like this dessert is not meant to impress.

The bingsoo wasn't too sweet and had a creamy, milky flavor! I got the OG bingsoo and my friend got the Oreo bingsoo. The bingsoo didn't taste watered down and had a good balance of sweetness and flavor. I also ordered the custard taiyaki. There is a minimum order of 2 pieces. The custard taiyaki was delicious! It had a bouncy mochi texture which was a pleasant surprise. The cashier was kind and patient. Would definitely come back!

There's several tables and also a sink along the side wall for handwashing. You order and pick up at the counter. Been here several times now, and I always get their taiyaki. It's cooked perfectly, and the shell is always nice and crispy when you bite into it. They're my favorite place to get taikyaki. The only downside is that they don't have as many filling options as other taiyaki spots. But the fillings they do have are really delicious! During this visit, I also tried the basque cheesecake. I've always seen it in the display case before, and this time I finally went for it. It was thick and creamy. So yummy! And it's served with whipped cream and sliced strawberries that compliment the cheesecake perfectly.

We stopped by Okrumong after lunch at Jang Su Jang, since it's located in the same center, and it was a nice way to wrap up the meal. We ordered two bingsoo and shared them. The black sesame bingsoo was my favorite - the ice was super fine and snow-like, light and easy to enjoy. It leaned a bit sweeter than other bingsoo spots I've tried, but was still very good. The second bingsoo was a more classic snow bowl with red bean and mochi on top, simple but enjoyable. The space felt clean and traditional, with good service. Overall, a great place to get bingsoo in Torrance. read more
Overall, this place is my favorite dessert place in South Bay. Location: next to Jang Su Jang restaurant so easy to come by after dinner. Has a big, free parking lot. Decor: cute decor with books on the side and a few tables inside. Service: efficient and speedy. Menu/food: I really like their bingsoo a lot, but what I really love is their boong-uh-ppang (taiyaki). I also love their red bean, which is not too sweet but rich and flavorful. They advertise that the red bean is imported from Korea, and it really is better than most other places. When the taiyaki comes out piping hot with crispy exterior and chewy inside with red bean, it's sooo good. I like their custard filling too. Probably best taiyaki I've had anywhere in southern Cal. I had stopped coming here for a while and when we came back, we noticed that the menu expanded a bit, and now they have some fruit based bingsoo. Recommend trying once. Their rice cakes are good too, very chewy and fresh. read more

Best fresh strawberry milk shaved ice in South Bay, California Artistically made, most of all natural strawberries with a condensed milk flavor. Strawberries & puree drizzled on top. So refreshing, better than Hawaiian syrup shaved ice. More natural. read more

very cozy atmosphere and delicious shaved ice! i have tried the matcha one and the soybean one and both were super good, i will definitely be returning! also i love how they are open late so it makes for a nice after dinner snack. read more

Cute little dessert shop with jazz music for ambiance. Taiyaki is 2 pieces minimum order and that was my kids favorite treat. You can get it with no filling if desired. Snow bowls appear a smidge on the small side. But they are actually a good size for 2 people to share as a dessert after dinner elsewhere. Snow is extremely fine. Love it! read more
The cutest cafe! LOVE the Black Sesame Snow Bowl. Finely shaved ice topped with sesame and condensed milk is perfect for a hot day, and the Taiyaki are amazing as well. Made to order, they come out piping hot with a great crispy shell and mochi-esque texture. We tried all the fillings and you can't go wrong. My favorite is red bean, but they're all great depending on what you're craving. I've always loved Asian desserts, and these are awesome! read more
Cute little dessert shop! We got the green tea snow bowl and it was the perfect size to share with another person. The mochi was so soft and I appreciated the layer of red bean in the middle. There's not too too many tables so it can be a tad difficult to snag a spot to dine in. read more

Small cozy bingsoo place in a strip mall. Busy on a hot day but provided the cooling relief we needed. The taiyaki was crispy and perfect. Tried all three flavors and custard was my favorite. Tried three different types of snow bowls with gold being one of them thought we were getting some real gold at these prices. Overall a bit on the pricier side but for good quality times with family any price is worth it. Four stars for the price. read more
Okrumong is a nice little hang out spot and frankly exceeded my expectations. It gets a busy during the weekend but the tables turn pretty quickly. The inside decor is reminiscent of an old tea house, but the food is very modern. We ordered the OG snow bowl and it was pretty good. It has red bean and mochi so it's a very Asian dessert. It's worthwhile to get if you come. We didn't order the Taiyaki but we saw plenty of people ordering it. There's plenty of parking and I'm sure they benefit from being right next door to Jang Su Jang and getting their diners. read more

Sweet red bean porridge is very sweet and that's normal for this kind of thing. I like the little toppings they add to it to make it unique. The cheese taiyaki is savory with a little bit of sweetness and the crust is perfectly cooked. read more
Came here for a quick dessert on a Sunday and sat inside the quaint chairs-- the inside was pretty and homey, and I liked the christmas playlist playing! My friends and I ordered the Matcha snow bowl and split it between the four of us. It came out relatively quick! The matcha and azuki (red bean) went so well together and was really delicious! I always love the texture and fluffy slush of bingsoo-- it was the perfect light treat after a big lunch. I liked the mochi balls on top too! Next time I really want to try the black sesame flavor!! read more
I've always liked this spot for bingsoo in ktown, LA. This was my first time going to the Torrance location and i was a bit disappointed. We got the black sesame snow and a chocolate chip cookie. The snow was a bit too liquidy and it lacked that black sesame flavor once you got into the middle portion. It did not have much black sesame inside. Im not sure if it was too much milk or what but it just liquidy soupy milk bingsoo. The chocolate chip though was really good! Dark and milk chocolate with walnut pieces. The cookie was not overly sweet and had a good soft texture to it. I would come back for the cookie. Not the bingsoo. read more

Taiyaki was pretty good, the mini strawberry snow was not. There was no snow, it was completely melted and was basically a soup! Luckily we got 2 taiyaki, Nutella and custard. They were both pretty good. The Nutella one could have used more filling and the custard wasn't sweet enough. But the taiyaki themselves were delicious! Not sure if I'd recommend it be back, but it was a cute little place with plenty of tables inside. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday night for an after dinner treat. It is located in a small plaza - parking shouldn't be a problem. It was relatively busy when we arrived but were able to find a seat. We ordered a red bean and custard taiyaki. I really enjoyed the custard filling (it wasn't too sweet)! I wish they had more filling options to pick from and that there was a bit more filling in taiyaki but otherwise would come back again! read more

This place is delicious! Every time I eat in this plaza I have to get Okrumong for dessert. I usually get the strawberry snow bowl and custard 붕어빵 or taiyaki. If I go with more people, then I'll add on other menu items so we can all share. Everything is delicious, you can't go wrong. read more
It's been a while since our last visit. It was quite busy that Friday night and it's probably due to the new restaurant next door. The place was packed when we arrived! We ordered our usual strawberry milk. We ordered the black sesame this time, but that's our other "usual". It's a light and satisfying dessert after a heavy meal at the restaurant next door. 3 of us went here this afternoon, and it was such a treat!! Each of us got the custard taiyaki. It came out piping hot and made it 1000% better! The custard on the inside was creamy, warm, and delicious, and the outside batter was perfectly crispy. We again got the OG snow bowl with red bean, and the Green snow bowl with red bean. The serving size is really big. The red bean on top matches perfectly well with the sweetness of the snow ice. The mochi topping is sooo soft. The inside of the place has a very home-y vibe. Feels like you're sitting in someone's living room which make it feel more cozy. Highly recommend this place - it's great! read more
