Their best item is the curry cube bread. Big chunks of beef inside with some traditional curry sauce. Very savory and tasty even at home after toasting it in the air fryer. The bacon version didn't have enough bacon and was a little boring with nothing inside after eating the curry version. The melon pan was best fresh. The earl grey was a little too subtle. Fig focaccia would have been better if the bread was softer. It was a little tough to eat. The Americano was excellent because of how strong it was. Some inside and outdoor seating. Parking on the street and behind the restaurant. Very nice location for brunch or lunch.

Tiramisu latte

Highlights: the honey toast was definitely delicious, crispy caramelized edges and soft chewy bread. Grab and go for this alone, price point is okay at $5.6 for each cube. Their tiramisu latte was good as well but for $8 it didn't stand out enough to justify the price. Wouldn't get the margarita pizza bread again, it was a little soggy. The other issue is that they really need to hire more servers, definitely a little congested to pay and order and be prepared to wait for drinks/food. Theres a few tables inside and out. Located off the PCH in Redondo, you can find free parking along the street.

This is a very cute café with great vibes and outdoor seating. There's a small parking lot in the back, plus street parking, though it's on a steep hill. I like that the front operates in a casual, self-serve style similar to Paris Baguette or 85°C, where you grab pastries with a tray and tongs. In the back, you can order drinks and entrees at the counter, and they'll bring everything out to your table. All of the staff were friendly, but I felt the pricing was a bit steep for what you get. A small hojicha latte was $8 and came out barely lukewarm. The clam chowder was also mostly potatoes and, again, not very hot. I'm someone who really prefers my food and drinks served hot, so that part was disappointing. That said, I did enjoy the soft bread bowl the chowder came in. My husband ordered the ginger pork sandwich, and once again, the highlight was the bread. Overall, if I were to return, I'd probably just grab pastries to go. The butter and red bean pastry caught my attention and I'd probably like to try next time.

This is a nice counter service bakery with fresh breakfast brunch lunch menu meal items. The main disposition isn't about the quality of the food at all, it's quite delicious, but it's more of the value perception (or reality) of the the prices and portions, which quite honestly is a subjective perception or rather opinion. I feel the portions can increase by 1/3 more OR the prices can be lowered by 30% and that feels like a justified sweet spot for this place to thrive. The Japanese Curry in the Bread Loaf Bowl was good, but at $22, it felt quite expensive given the lack of robust substance to the entree that lacked a quantity of meat and vegetables to be appetite fulfilling. It came with a side salad and I felt the entree was worth more like $12 to $15 as being right priced. Parking is easy and it's in the less congested part of Redondo Beach on PCH along the "ABC alphabet avenues" area.

I've been wanting to try Bread, Espresso & for awhile and happened to have the opportunity on a Saturday around lunch. There is plenty of parking in the back. The super cute spot has very helpful staff. We got a few pieces from the self serve section and ordered lattes and food from the counter. The bread is perfect and like a cloud. The lattes are not too sweet. We enjoyed the bread so much we went and got a loaf to go after lunch. Can't wait to go back.

Updated review! Last time I came here was last year, a month or so after the grand opening. I stand by everything I said last year, and this review is based on my recent visit. Came here Sunday morning. There were couple people inside and not crowded. There were enough breads for everyone. It seems like they make small batches at a time and refill the shelves constantly. I got the Mou ($6.40), Mou edamame/bacon ($5.40), Mou matcha ($5.40), Mou chocolate ($5.40), and iced blueberry matcha latte ($8.90). i paid $40 for 4 bread and a drink (with tax and tip). Super pricey. The smaller Mou is 3" cube of bread. The edamame and bacon is my favorite. Bread is super soft and delicious. But wish there's more bacon and it wasn't crispy at all. Matcha Mou was very good but the chocolate Mou was just okay. The blueberry matcha was okay. The matcha powder was unsweetened and was light. Blueberry was insanely sweet. Not sure if I recommend the matcha drinks here, especially it's overpriced. I would definitely come back to get more Mou, and to try out their breakfast/lunch menu.

Iced hojicha latte! A good drink for an after-coffee mid-morning

Visited while looking for a place to get some work and morning reading done while in town. It all started with readily available parking in the nearby neighborhood. I had the iced hojicha latte, while others had other drinks and tried the mou. I don't really have a prior parallel to compare the bread to, but it seems like it is their specialty, and it served as a nice snack to go with the drink! Service was prompt and very polite, though there were only two other patrons when we were there. I imagine that it wouldn't be too different with more people around. The inside space is nice, especially with some counter seating with outlets AND wi-fi AND some of the most comfortable high chairs with backs that I've ever sat in at a coffee shop. We ended up sitting in the outdoor seating outside because it was a nice day, which was nice if you're OK with the sound of passing car traffic on PCH, and the wafts of the taco place across the street. FWIW, bathrooms are available and well cleaned.

Stopped by after a Pilates class nearby with a friend on a Saturday around 11:30 AM, and it was the perfect post-workout bite. Parking: The restaurant sits on a corner with a small parking lot behind the building, which is super convenient. There's also street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, though note it's on a fairly steep hill. Vibe / Interior: The space is intimate and thoughtfully laid out, split into three distinct areas: the kitchen and cashier up front, a small dine-in section with tables, and a self-serve bakery area where you grab a tray and tongs à la 85°C or Paris Baguette. I loved browsing the selection of baked goods, but what really caught my eye were the curated Japanese home goods -- especially the utensils and plates, which made the space feel elevated and very intentional. Good for: Quick grab-and-go, casual brunch, or even breakfast. They offer a great morning deal: $7.40 for a Croque Madame from 7:30-10 AM, which is honestly a steal for the quality and portion. What we ordered: * Croque Madame plate * Mentaiko toast plate Both plates came with a generously sized salad, which helped balance out the richness. Everything was solid and satisfying, though I'd probably add an extra side next time if I was extra hungry. Service: Truly lovely -- the staff was kind, upbeat, and welcoming. Orders were taken at the counter, and the food was brought directly to our table, which was appreciated. Overall: A charming neighborhood café with great vibes, friendly service, and fair pricing -- especially for breakfast. While the food didn't totally wow me, it's a spot I'd happily revisit for a casual meal or bakery run.

I was excited to try this bakery's signature mou bread. They were smaller than I thought in person, but very filling! I went on a Sunday in the afternoon, so it seemed like the curry mou had sold out already? But I got to try two other ones, the mou is super fluffy even though it looks dense! Jalapeño cheese mou - 5/5, a classic flavor combo! Edamame bacon mou - 4/5, this was a really fun flavor combo. I wish there were more bacon folded in the bread but it was good! Chai - 3/5, it has a nice aroma but the flavor isn't really good chai. Wish it were sweeter.

Food: Skillet Soup Mou Lobster Bisque with Green Salad was superb!!!; Toast Plate Mou - Egg & Prosciutto served with Green Salad, Yogurt Parfait, and Fresh Fruits; Mou is a Japanese style cube-shaped bread; Flat White was a perfect espresso with milk that went well with my breakfast Service: made-to-order service Design: interiors is clean, modern with the a Japanese post & beam warm wood tone mixed with the white walls and grey, paneled concrete floors, beautiful Danish modern chairs, and white marble table tops. Overall: if you want to try a great Japanese bakery & breakfast cafe with good espresso, then check out this spot in Redondo Beach

Coffee n Matcha time

I had the most beautiful pastry here, the Rasberry Custard Croisssant (?). It was like a piece of delicious art perfect for the Gram. My coffee was great too. The ambiance here is modern, sleek, sterile and sparse. This place was a little confusing to find but definitely worth checking out.

Dirty chai latte and hojicha latte

This new spot in town is a great place to study or catch up with friends. It's very modern and made me miss Japan. The place had plenty of seating for a small bakery and even had hooks at their tables for your purse. I tried a lot of the new items at Bread, Espresso &. The Mou bread topped with clam chowder and another topped with beef curry are all house made and will leave you wanting more. I also ordered their new Hojicha Latte and Dirty Chai. Not too sweet and not too bitter, just how I like it! Service? Top tier. We were served by Ryu himself and the hospitality he displayed shows how much care he has put into this business.

We stopped by after passing by itso many times as we live 5 minutes away. We assumed it was just a bakery, which it is, but turns out they have a wine + dine menu as well for evenings. We got to try both bakery and dining items, and was very impressed with the quality of everything. For the the bakery items, we tried: Mentaiko & Butter Mou Bread, Prosciutto Mozzarella Panini. Mentaiko Mou Bread was the standout, just amazing umami flavor. For the wine + dine menu, we tried: Charcuterie Board, Shrimp Ajillo w/ Bread, Japanese Hamburger Steak. The hamburger steak was definitely my fave. They had some nice selections of wine and it went very well with the food. We even capped it off with dessert, we got affagato and french toast skillet w/ ice cream, which was really good. Overall, we really enjoyed everything. We'll definitely be coming back.

Love the nook but sad about today's experience and I'm most likely not coming back for a while…read more Going to come back when I feel a lil' bit better since they do make pretty good beverages matcha or coffee both always come out consistent. Today was mother's day and the Enclave was busy with a lot of people. They were busy too but the time I came, the line was not to the outside window as usual and stayed indoors so it was a steady type of busy. I ordered my island matcha and sat to wait with my dog, until I just noticed the people behind me just getting their drinks first, then another, then another.. A family came in and got greeted, that was cute, probably regulars, their orders were taken and promptly made. Nice. But then the next ones also were getting made--huh? Where's mine? I thought they might have had some online orders? I was still sitting patiently in front of the pick up counter because I didn't want to bother the obviously busy lady that's super locked in. I worked in food before too, so sometimes I get that some tickets go in front of others and the steady locked in flow of the line was really cool to observe but this was a little bit too weird since--oh another one got his drink right after ordering. My husband finally regrouped with me inside because we also had ordered from the Fish grill, the order was done from fish grill, but I was still there wondering what happened to my drink from Nook--maybe syrups needed to be refilled? Maybe steeping tea?? Idk but at this point I was getting sad since I just saw another walk away with their drinks after just ordering. I sigh, my husband asks me what's wrong. I show him my phone showing the receipt of when I ordered and he noticed it's been a while and he also saw another walk away who just ordered with a drink in hand already. So he goes up to ask them if the island matcha came out. A guy from the line sees the order number, goes to their ticket tablet and makes my matcha drink in less than 5 seconds (I mean it, they're super quick). My husband beckons me to grab my matcha and I come up silently to grab it and leave with another sigh. Drink tastes great. Though the just making the drink quickly and not acknowledging/apologizing that something went wrong was kind of sad since I already felt disregarded in the first place. As I walked away I heard that my ticket just somehow didn't show up but sigh. I wish someone checked on me if I was waiting on anything. I know it's on me too for not speaking up, but I trusted the process. I thought they didn't forget about me. I was wrong. I burnt my favorite mixing bowl today, we got turned away from my fav restaurant for lunch because they were full and we just happened to be the one behind the last queue that got accepted today. I made yucky bitter matcha today. Went here to make my day better but it added more fuel to the fire. :C Sigh. See you in a while Nook. Me sad. Happy Mother's day to all moms today though.
