Still the best around. And we've chased some good bakeries. But this is still my personal fave. Best almond croissant. Best seasonal pastries. And get the croissant monkey bread (forgot the official name) loaf. Crowd pleaser. Happy vibes and happy staff and happy people.
If you are a croissant lover, you probably don't want to miss this place. Flaky, buttery goodness in every bite. There was a long line out the door, but surprisingly, it moves quickly and you can get into the establishment. Lots of friendly people waiting to take your order when you get to the counter. You place your order with them and then you order your drinks at the check out counter. I ordered the cheddar jalapeño sourdough, almond croissant, cinnamon roll, and kouign-amann. Everything tasted delectable! For my next visit, I would love to try their bagels.
I would give Tommy and Atticus probably a 4/4.5 rating but their service is really really friendly, next level friendly. We tried the sandwich of the week. The bread was very difficult to chew through. We both agreed, we wish the sandwich had been warmed up, or something to help bite through the chew. But the flavors were great! There were dates, and pickled something that cut through the sweetness and richness. We also had the peach and cream croissant. SO good! The cream was delicious, the croissant was flaky delicious. My friend also ordered the brownie to take back to her fiancé. We sat outside but you can sit inside as well, it just gets a little packed. It's very busy here, but they get you in and out asap. Plenty of parking which is lovely.
Heard about Tommy and Atticus through the referral of some friends and had to check this spot out. Seemed to be a popular bakery as we pulled up at 9am on a Sunday morning with the line out the door, and even still as we left too. Service was surprisingly quick for the pastries available at display, you would only need to wait a few minutes for their bagels and drinks. I would give the pastries a 3.5/5, not the most standout but not bad either. My favorite of the bunch was the mango and rice pudding kouign amann, the pastry was flaky and not overpowering in sugar. The heirloom tomato bagel was also one of the better options, the slices were fresh and paired with a plain bagel, it is a refreshing bite each time. The inside has a good amount of small, two person tables as well as a center table that can fit a couple of people willing to squeeze in together. Overall, a decent spot to hangout for a quick breakfast pastry and drinks.
Popular bakery minutes from manhattan beach. The staff is very friendly and the pastries smell and look amazing. There's a good amount of seating inside and outside. WiFi is also available. Everything was delicious from the coffee to the almond croissant and sourdough loaf. My favorite was the mango and rice pudding pastry.
I'd give this place more of a 3.5 rating. It was pretty good, but I wouldn't drive out of my way or crave it. But if I was in the area, I'd say this was a solid choice if you were looking for a bagel. They also had a lot of different types of pastries -- I noticed a lot people ordering those. We tried their butter croissant and croissant cinnamon roll. The croissant was okay, not the best. The cinnamon roll was tasty, I liked it better than a regular cinnamon roll. We came mainly to try The Works bagel (bagels are served only until 10:30a). I liked that all the other toppings (heirloom tomato, cucumber, onion, dill) helped to balance out the saltiness of the cured salmon. The salmon was so-so though, not really the star. I surprisingly really enjoyed the heirloom tomato, so I'd get probably skip the cured salmon next time and just do the Heirloom Bagel. I also tried their Matcha Einspanner, which was kind of watery. I'd pass on their drinks.
Living in LA, you are spoiled by the amount of great bakeries. We were excited to try Tommy and Atticus when we hopped in over Labor Day weekend. We got there after bagel sandwich time, but the line was still out the door. Service was kind and friendly and it seemed like a family vibe where regulars knew the staff or even just knew them outside of the bakery. We ordered a variety of things: a sliced country loaf, a citrus morning bun, a croissant, and a turkey sandwich on a baguette. Ultimately, I was pretty disappointed with the food. The country loaf was fine but lacked a depth a flavor that I'm used to with other naturally leavened breads. The morning bun was a bit too sweet but had nice texture. The croissant had nice lamination but could have been more crispy and tasted more of butter. Also, the matcha latte could have had more matcha in it and tasted too much of milk. Lastly, the baguette was a bit soggy and was lacking flavor and airiness of a baguette.
Cute little bakery in the Redondo Area. They had so many varieties of sourdough breads that & definitely need to try when coming back, but the inside was really clean and spacious. The staff were quick and friendly and they had a good selection of drinks to choose from.
Tommy and Atticus is a bakery in Redondo Beach that serves fresh-baked breads, bagels, and pastries. I think these breads and pastries are nice, but what brings the fifth star is when they use their breads for sandwiches. My wife ordered a blanco toast, which had ricotta, avocado, and a bunch more flavor bombs over freshly baked sourdough toast. I highly recommend their 'works" bagel sandwich. I had it on a sesame seed bagel with a very tasty scallion cream cheese. What made it amazing was their use of perfectly ripened, sweet heirloom tomato, thinly sliced red onions, briny capers, delicious olive oil, and fresh dill, that gave perfect balance and perfect seasoning. We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. I know that I have to come back for those!
Good bakery with a variety of bread items, pastries, and flavors! It has a laid back vibe with board games available for guests as well. Ordering was fast and they had friendly service. The bread and pastries were baked and executed well and have subdued, layers of flavor, and crunch. We liked the spinach pastry as well as the creme brulee kouign amann! It is definitely worth a visit if you want some good bread and pastries in the area!

Fortunately, the line moved pretty quickly as the staff is efficient and prepared for the Wednesday morning crowd. All of their pastries look delicious. I've had their breads, sandwiches, and scones. Today, I picked up a baguette and am sure it will be good too. This is a very popular bakery for a reason. Get there early for best selection of goodies.
Excellent service and interior ambiance My only complaint is that there was very little strawberry flavor in the strawberry matcha and the matcha itself tasted a bit grainy. Sandwich of the week was absolutely delicious with perfect meat cheese arugula ratio. Would definitely come back again for the bread and try more of their bakery items but wouldn't get their matcha again
There were just a few folks in line around noon on a weekday, although I feared a long line out the door based on some of the more hysterical reviews. Many of the pastries had clearly been picked over by lunchtime but they still had what I wanted to try, in particular, the kouign-amann and the almond croissant. I also ordered an everything bagel and a salted chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was outrageously good. You must get this. I am not the world's biggest everything bagel fan but if there was a contest for everything bagels, this one would win. It is literally covered with everything that makes an everything bagel an everything bagel. You can probably smell this bagel a mile away; the scent is that strong. It was delicious, too. The almond croissant was flaky and flavorful. Although I am a huge kouign-amann fan, this one was a little dry. (Remember, it is pronounced "queen ah-mahn.") It's not that hard. My cold brew was on the smaller side and was just fine. The bread and pastries here are beautiful. I would definitely return to try more of their goods. Plenty of free parking in the lot, although some of the spaces are a little tight.
Saturday morning at Tommy & Atticus I stopped by Tommy & Atticus on a Saturday morning, and there was already a line, but it moved surprisingly fast! I ordered a sourdough loaf to take home and couldn't resist having breakfast there too. I tried the Garden Sesame Bagel Sandwich, and it was really good! The flavors were fresh and satisfying. Next time, I'll probably ask for a little less sprouts, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. My friend had The Works Bagel, which looked absolutely delicious and definitely made me want to try it next time. We also shared a blueberry scone, and WOW !!it was phenomenal! It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the visit. I paired everything with a latte, which was a great way to start the morning. Great spot for a casual Saturday breakfast, especially if you're looking for good bagels, pastries, coffee, and sourdough to take home. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu! read more

Tommy and Atticus is a local neighborhood business serving the South Bay with delicious pastries and hand crafted coffee. There's always a line out the door, and for good reason because their pastries are absolutely delicious. They truly have something for everyone, from classic croissants to more creative pastries and seasonal specials. So yum! Their peach scone is so moist and delicious! One of the best scones I've ever had! Their mango sticky rice kouignaman was ok. I think their regular one is much better. The ingredients on the bagel were fresh and was delicious! read more

Had to update my review because I went back earlier in the day to try more of the favorites. I really enjoyed both the cookie and the croissant. Both are for chocolate lovers because they are FILLED with chocolate. Had to brush a little of the salt off of the cookie because I like my sweets sweet, but other that that they were great. I really wanted to try a cinnamon roll croissant but I guess those sell out early because they were all out. read more
Very fun bakery! Lots of sweets and it seems like a lot of fresh breads as well. The vibe is very loud and poppin energy. Plenty of seating to sit and chat and eat. Not quite quite enough of a place to read a book or WFH. I tried the earl grey chocolate chip bread which was DELISH. Crème brule kouign amann was a bit too sweet for me but glad I tried it. Sesame and everything bagel were COVERED in their seasonings which I thought was awesome. I hope they do more bagel flavors. Friendly staff as well. Plenty of parking in the lot. Phenomenal bakery in Redondo Beach with absolutely delicious pastries. My favorite in the South Bay. Exceptional, huge cinnamon roll with buttery croissant pastry, cold brew glaze and cream cheese frosting - perhaps justifying the hefty $10 price. Flaky and delicious plain buttery croissant - perhaps the best in the South Bay. The citrus morning bun was also bright and flavorful. Friendly and efficient service with lines than can build up but move quickly. Casual ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating with many families and groups enjoying pastries on a weekend morning. read more
i got the al fresco on a sesame bagel (half). The tomato on this bagel was SO GOOD! It was thick and so juicy. The bagel is pretty packed with toppings and the bagle iteself was soft and delicious! When I was excitedly debating what to order while we were still in line, my partner told me he's literally never seen me so happy before in my life, and that should tell you a lot about how much I love Tommy and Atticus. I first came here about 3 years ago to grab bagels and cookies with some friends - the bagels are reminiscent of some of the best I've had in NYC. You gotta get it as The Works, the tomato dill combo and house cured salmon are unbeatable. I've also gotten a loaf of cheddar jalapeño sourdough, note that there's a small slicing fee if you want them to cut it for ya. Onto the stars of the show, the laminated pastries. They're buttery, crispy, fantastic blends of flavors, and I ascend to some higher plane of existence when I eat em. I briefly lost my mind when I ordered, and got myself the enormous cinnamon rolls (literally the size of my face), an allium savory square (garlic confit AND caramelized onions?? sign me up for another), the plum fruit tart (custard is perfect), and the strawberry matcha croissant (mmm roasted strawberries and strong matcha flavor in the buttercream). There's usually lines out the doors, and it's worth every minute of the wait. An absolute must try if you're in Redondo Beach. read more
I was looking for a good light breakfast/brunch spot in the South Bay and stumbled across this place. I've seen it on social media before but never occurred to me it was close by. I came here on a Sunday morning and it was pretty packed. They serve bagel sandwiches until 10:30am so make sure it be in line before they make the last call. I ordered the BLC and Garden on an everything bagel and it was delicious. I really enjoyed the BLC minus the bagel being a little bit over-baked. Overall, good bagel spot in the South Bay! read more
This was my third time coming. I don't what happened today? Coffee came out on time and we had our pastries. But we had to wait over 30 minutes. This for our "the work's" bagel a full order. I noticed that three individual orders/people who ordered after us received their food. Also, that a group of three people, waited a long time as well. They were the first time that asked and inquired why their food order was taking long. Then it was us. I asked the expediter who was running the window. Why are the orders taking so long, is it because the cook is behind on his prep? He down played my legitimate question by saying, because it was busy and that it had only been 20mins. I followed up telling him don't you run orders by tickets (one by one) meaning by order? No response. This was very frustrating to say the least. I don't like it when a person responsible for the orders doesn't follow up with the customers. If it was me I would let the customers know by name and order, and apologize to them that they are running behind. Not blow smoke up my ass? My previous review, was great a one. Now not so much this time. This will probably determine how and when I will return. I don't think the owner has been made aware of this? *Dilemma. read more

Boring stuff: easy parking, cashless, easy to access entrance The actual review: Came here for the first time in search of a country loaf. Country load was acquired but I was distracted by everything else. The place is very clean and an easy space to bring friends. They have board games if you guys plan to stay and hang, and their staff is really friendly. We got their sandwich of the week. Their mortadella can def use more pistachios so i hope one day they get better mortadella for the price they charge (lol). We also got their banana fosters croissant, and jalapeno popper croissant. Everything was delicious. My only gripe is that their vietnamese iced coffee can use some work. As a vietnamese coffee drinker, the vietnamese iced coffee sold here can definitely be stronger. Will i come back here? Absolutely. Most likely next weekend. read more

Tommy and Atticus is one of the more popular bakery shops in the South Bay and the shop is known for their sourdough breads that have been fermented for a minimum of 18 hours. Owner Garrett McPerry used to work at Gjusta in 2019 and put 100% of his attention to Tommy and Atticus in 2020. This location is the brick-and-mortar location, but customers will find the bakery at different farmers' markets - Brentwood on Sunday, Larchmont on Wednesday, and Hermosa on Friday. [Parking]: The parking lot within the strip mall is big enough. I didn't have an issue finding a parking spot at 8:30 AM on Saturday. [Atmosphere]: Our party came here and there was already a waiting line. Luckily the wait was only 5 minutes at 8:30 AM on Saturday. Our party came here another time on Sunday and the waiting time was longer (appromxately 15 minutes). There are indoor tables to sit with no outdoor patio area. [Service]: Customers order sandwiches and drinks at the cashier counter. Food came out relatively quickly, but drinks took a little bit too long to prepare (15+ minutes). [Menu]: Some of top Yelp highlighted items are Almond Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, and Ham and Cheese Croissant. Breakfast bagel sandwiches and toasts are served from 7 AM to 10:30 AM. Weekly lunch sandwiches are served at 11AM. Sourdough pizzas are served at 1:30 PM. As for sourdough breads, they have 11 different options (Challah is only available on Friday). Rosemary Garlic Loaf is one of more popular selections and customers will pay an extra $0.75 to have it sliced. *** Almond Croissant ($7.00): Lovely molasses in the middle and crunchy exterior texture - no question it was one of the best almond croissants I have had. Ham + Cheese Croissant ($7.00): I sampled it - good croissant but not as good as almond croissant. Citrus Morning Bun ($5.00): a bit sugary for me but I could taste a note of citrus Rosemary Garlic Loaf - Sourdough Bread ($11.00 - extra $0.75 for sliced): Great sourdough bread and it took me several days to finish the entire loaf. Please note that a loaf will last approximately 5 days on the counter and any exposed parts of the bread should be covered with plastic wrap. The Works (house-cured salmon, heirloom tomato, persian cucumber, fresh dill, shaved red onion, capers, lemon, olive oil, flaky salt, with cream cheese - everything bagel, half for $10.00): It was a surprisingly good lox bagel - fresh salmon and other ingredients tasted fresh. I am a fan of this breakfast bagel sandwich. *** A solid 4.5-star bakery shop with s-tier almond croissants. Stick with almond croissants for the best experience here. What's not to love!! I moved from the South Bay to Northern California. I have walked in and out of bakeries, not liking what their pastries, specifically scones look like. If the scone looks good I will try it - I have yet to find a scone that compares to Tommy and Atticus' scones. Every time I visit Southern California, we must come here once or twice during the visit My favorite is a scone, my husband's favorite are the croissants, my mother's favorite is the cinnamon roll, my nephew loves The Works Lox and Bagel and of course, the seasonal pastries. We have also tried the sourdough bread, which was amazing I highly recommend this place! read more

Ok, here's a hot tip: Tommy & Atticus has the most wonderful pizza. You have to get there after 1:30. There are several varieties. You never know but they will always be constructed with their amazing sourdough crust. The toppings will be first rate too. I'm reasonably sure I could just drink the sauce by itself. But don't tell anyone I told you. P.S.: They close at 3:00 so don't miss it. I should also mention that they also bake amazing bread and pastries. The scones are unbelievable (especially the blueberry ones). The croissants are so buttery and flaky. There are regular sandwiches on a weekly basis (check for the meat or veggie choices). They also make bagels and bagel sandwiches. And the whole places smells of bread. Ahhhhhh! Is there anything else so wonderful. Oftentimes there's a line, especially at peak times. But everyone's always so happy to be there. The staff is very efficient and kind. If you love things made out of flour you need to make it a point to treat yourself. Came back to try out their other food items. This time, we dined and in. We ordered and sat ourselves indoors. There's a decent amount seating and thankfully there was space to park our stroller. In addition to a few displayed pastry items, we ordered the works bagel and the jam toast. Both were delicious and the flavors were well balanced! For the works bagel, I definitely enjoyed the freshness of the lemon drizzle on the lox, and the capers/dill were a nice savory touch! The highlight of the jam toast was the spread (and of course the jam). LOVEEEED IT!!! Be prepared to wait because line was out of the door, but it was worth it! We arrived on a Saturday morning and we did around 15 minutes before getting to order. As soon as you walk in, you can just smell all of the fresh pastries! They have a really good selection and the presentation of each pastry is great. Everything looks so appetizing. We got a box of a different selection of pastries. I loved the strawberry custard danish!!! It was sooo delicious and the bread was perfectly flaky. I enjoyed it so much. The meat sandwich was yummy although I wish the baguette wasn't very tough. The choco almond croissant was valhrona heaven. And the passion fruit croissant was a unique touch. Atmosphere was quick and pleasant. The staff was nice and friendly. Plus were the clean bathrooms. read more

everytime i drive by tommy and atticus , which is about 4x a wk, there is always a line to the nail shop. and they are closed mon and tues , btw. i totally thought i scored once when i saw no line. parked and walked up and saw they were closed bc it was a tues. smh. anywoo. i was out running errands on lunch and didnt see a line so made a pit stop. the smell of this bakery ..delightful. the gal was so friendly , i ordered: chocolate fudge brownie $5 chocolate croissant $6 strawberry matcha croissant $8 butter croissant $5 all of it.. 10/10. def will be back to try out their sandwiches and their almond croissant. loved their interior. seating avail inside and outside. parking: plenty of parking. read more

I'm so glad that I finally got to check this place out. Don't be intimated by the line, it goes by quick and is so worth it. For my transaction of 2 drinks and 2 pastries, it was $24, which is a fair price for fresh baked goods. The matcha comes unsweetened, but you can request it to be added or ask for it to add yourself. The cinnamonroll is a must order! The cinnamonroll was fresh, fluffy and perfect! Will go back to pick up another roll for when we go to have breakfast at the beach. The smores croissant had a nice smear of chocolate mousse. read more

Yes we exclusively use organic flour in all of our bread, pastries and bagels. We use central milling flour for all of our bread, pastries and bagels.
Any chance you'll be selling sourdough stuffing for Thanksgiving?
Hello! We will not be selling any sourdough stuffing for Thanksgiving. We will have pies (Dutch apple, maple pecan and pumpkin) available for Thanksgiving

Do you have spelt sourdough bread?
Hello! Thank you for your inquiry. We currently do not bake any spelt sourdough at Tommy and Atticus. We use an organic wheat flour grown and milled in Utah for our sourdough loaves. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
