Good coffee, beautiful interior. Hi-Fi Espresso is located in a good location, however there's several coffee stores in the same area. It's very competitive here. I got iced mocha ($7.50). It's only one size. Service was quick and it tasted very good. Some other coffee places, their iced mocha is overly sweet but this place was perfect! They also didn't fill the entire cup with ice which is good. They filled it about a quarter of the cup. Interior is spacious, have tables, they have a corner closed off for employees only. It's a coffee roaster(?). They sell bags of coffee so I assume it's a roaster. My only complaint if I have any, is that for my iced mocha, I didn't see any straws anywhere. Solid coffee, great sweets and good music. Chocolate chip cookies which they source from Nonna's in LB is a must-try as is the grilled cheese with tomato! Service is only weak spot. Took 26 minutes for grilled cheese when relatively unbusy and they also forgot one of our coffee drinks (it was just 3 of us). Hi-Fi is a sweet little coffee shop located on PCH. It's tucked away and if you aren't looking for it, can miss it. There is minimal seating indoor and outdoors. Parking isn't the best but there is a small lot in back that is available. We ordered the Chai and Honey Latte. The Chai latte was well balanced, not overly sweet or overpowering. Similarly, the Honey Latte was light, bright and had a hint of honey. A downside was that they didn't have almond milk (not sure if they don't carry it regularly or if it was just the day we came that they didn't have it). Prices were fair and service quick. read more

This place is too cute, they recently extended so now there's more indoor seating. It seems like a good spot to hang out or catch up on some work. We tried the Matcha and Hojicha, they come unsweetened unless you request it. I like how they have agave on the side that you can adjust to your liking, this is what we did. The matcha wasn't hand whisked and the quality seems pretty decent. The hojicha was not my favorite, I think it's lacking a bit in color and taste. They have a good amount of food and drink options, plus a few seasonal drinks, but nothing in the seasonal lineup really caught my eye today. The location of this place is great as it's located in the Riviera Village. I got the French toast latte iced with oat milk. Honestly, it tasted super sour. I think there is a reason there's an agave syrup pump out there probably because they had a lot of people asking for more sweetness. My daughter got the peach Chia pudding for 10 bucks. It was pretty good and tasted fresh. Price is a little much, but I suppose reasonable for the area. Lots of seating indoors, which is great. There is seating outside as well. The coffee tasted great and we tried both the Bees Knees and the French Toast Latte and I would definitely recommend the Bees Knees latte, it tastes soo good! The coffee was quite sizable and tasted amazing. Service was next level, we wanted the coffee to be a little hotter so we asked them and they remade the entire coffee orders just to be hotter for us, so they went above and beyond, thanks again! Sitting area was nice, they had two sections with plenty of seating. It does only have metered or street parking which is a bummer but considering the area thats the norm. Will be back! read more

I almost went with one of their teas because they sounded really good, but I stuck with a pour-over since that's my usual preference. I tend to like very light roasts, and while their light roast leaned more toward medium for my taste, it was still well made--just not exactly my preference. I also tried their chocolate chip cookie, and it was honestly a standout. The chocolate tasted high quality and really well balanced, easily one of the highlights of my visit. There's plenty of seating and a comfortable space to hang out. One small curiosity--I wasn't quite sure what the "Hi-Fi" name refers to, since I expected something music-related like vinyl or audio elements, but I didn't see any. Really nice and local cafe that serves good coffee and small bites. They roast their own coffee beans here, which is always a plus. The parking was a bit difficult, as you need to try and find street parking. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and parking was a bit tough. Luckily, I was able to pull into a spot five minutes after arriving. The space is absolutely beautiful: high ceilings and decor that gives me both modern and retro vibes. The only real downside I had was the amount of time it took for the baristas to make my coffee. I can tell they were fairly slammed and there were only 2 people working out in front. I believe I waited 10-15 minutes for my latte, which isn't unreasonable but maybe I'm just a bit spoiled with how fast my coffee usually comes out in other places. read more

We were in the area yesterday for the Los Angeles Kings 5k and I had bookmarked this place to give it a try. Walked in and there was only one other customer beside me. I ordered a s'mores latte that was on the menu board. They didn't have their fall drink menu out yet so I figured I couldn't go wrong with the iced smores latte. After I orders my drink it got pretty busy with other people, so I think the barista forgot my drink so I had to ask her about it. She went ahead and made it right away. Note: This is based on two visits I made to the coffee shop nestled in the Riviera village. I always wanted to go here. So, I made a stop for my second cup of coffee of the day (first one being at my house). Hi-fi espresso has booth seating and regular seating with a roaster/kitchen area and the decor is retro/minimal (someone give me a better word to describe this coffee place). There is a also a dog bowl with water just outside making this coffee shop puppy friendly and they have two tables outside as well for additional seating. Whenever I visit a new coffee place, I start with a standard hot latte. If the the place can whip up a good, strong latte (not to bitter or acidic), then it lives up to it's name of Hi-Fi Espresso, and it did, it was smooth yet very strong. On my second visit, the barista I encountered was very nice. I saw cookies. I got one with chocolate chips and I could not believe it was vegan! It was sweet, covered in lots of chocolate chips and I enjoyed it. I also tried another latte, this time iced with apothecary syrup (roses and cardamon). I thought it would taste similar to that of Portola from the OC. Either the staff forgot to add the syrup or it was very very light, but unfortunately, I only got a regular iced latte with no syrup. I do want to go back to see how the other flavored lattes measure up, but if you want to check this place out, I can vouch for their standard latte. read more

Great location by riviera village. Lots of variety of coffee drinks to try and all have been great. I've ordered food here multiple times and if ordering food probably best if you have an additional 15-20 minutes to spare as it can take that long to get your food. Even if you order food online and come to pick up based on the text sent to you when your food is ready, give yourself another 10-15 mins. Went here late afternoon on a weekday and had some great coffee! Even though it's been here for a while (2017 I believe), I had never been. I had an espresso tonic topped with a dehydrated orange as garnish. It was great! I believe it was a single-origin Ethiopian coffee. There were a couple of different options. I don't know too much about single origin coffee (aka coffee from one specific country or region), but the barista was patient and helpful. Generally, I find some single origins are more fruity and I wanted something more chocolatey or nutty--and the barista made a great recommendation. The cafe has a cute midcentury modern style. There's a turntable hooked up on the counter, which gives a pretty good sense of what the vibe is like. The style commitment goes all the way down to the napkin holders which also followed the same style. FYI if you're looking to study or work here, there are sitting time limits because they don't have much seating. Although we went during the late-afternoon in the middle of the week, so there was plenty of seating. As an amateur hobbyist in espresso at home, I can usually be disappointed by cafes, but their stuff was great! Would definitely recommend! read more
