This place is too cute, they recently extended so now there's more indoor seating. It seems like a good spot to hang out or catch up on some work. We tried the Matcha and Hojicha, they come unsweetened unless you request it. I like how they have agave on the side that you can adjust to your liking, this is what we did. The matcha wasn't hand whisked and the quality seems pretty decent. The hojicha was not my favorite, I think it's lacking a bit in color and taste. It was more chai tasting than that chocolate nutty taste that I've had at other cafes. ig: @cravingswithcat

Hi-Fi Espresso - Redondo Beach Review Spacious café with plenty of seating and a clean, relaxed vibe. They have a good amount of food and drink options, plus a few seasonal drinks, but nothing in the seasonal lineup really caught my eye today. I ordered the French Toast Latte with oat milk -- it came out in under 5 minutes and looked crazy good with all the cinnamon swirls. After tasting it: it really does taste like French toast. Very cinnamon-forward with a nice hint of maple and vanilla. Sweet, cozy, and definitely a vibe if you're into dessert-style coffees.

Definitely one of the highlight coffee shops in Torrance Redondo Beach area. The coffee tasted great and we tried both the Bees Knees and the French Toast Latte and I would definitely recommend the Bees Knees latte, it tastes soo good! The coffee was quite sizable and tasted amazing. Service was next level, we wanted the coffee to be a little hotter so we asked them and they remade the entire coffee orders just to be hotter for us, so they went above and beyond, thanks again! Sitting area was nice, they had two sections with plenty of seating. It does only have metered or street parking which is a bummer but considering the area thats the norm. Will be back!

Loved my coffee and my Vegan BLT sandwich. It was really delish. It did take a while for my order to come out but the service was great here. The prep cook came out to check on me. The place is popular and cute. Limited seats and they are a little low. You can sit inside or outside.

Really nice and local cafe that serves good coffee and small bites. They roast their own coffee beans here, which is always a plus. The parking was a bit difficult, as you need to try and find street parking. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and parking was a bit tough. Luckily, I was able to pull into a spot five minutes after arriving. The space is absolutely beautiful: high ceilings and decor that gives me both modern and retro vibes. The only real downside I had was the amount of time it took for the baristas to make my coffee. I can tell they were fairly slammed and there were only 2 people working out in front. I believe I waited 10-15 minutes for my latte, which isn't unreasonable but maybe I'm just a bit spoiled with how fast my coffee usually comes out in other places.

Review is of the coffee only- seems like this is a local popular spot with a line out the door so I had to try- the coffee was good. I personally am not a fan of the corn milk I got my drink with but espresso was good. Friendly staff. Cool vibes and decent seating. I appreciate seasonal menu but would want to try their signature drinks next time

I'm not saying HiFi's chai tea latte ruined all other chai for me... but yeah, it absolutely did. Perfectly spiced without being overpowering, cozy-warm, and somehow both bold and smooth at the same time. You can actually taste the chai, not just milk with a whisper of cinnamon. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down, take a sip, and immediately think, "ok wow, this is elite." If you're even remotely into chai, this one is a non-negotiable.

We were in the area yesterday for the Los Angeles Kings 5k and I had bookmarked this place to give it a try. Walked in and there was only one other customer beside me. I ordered a s'mores latte that was on the menu board. They didn't have their fall drink menu out yet so I figured I couldn't go wrong with the iced smores latte. After I orders my drink it got pretty busy with other people, so I think the barista forgot my drink so I had to ask her about it. She went ahead and made it right away. The place is very nice with lots of seating space . They must roast their own beans because they have a roasting machine. My drink was very good. To bad I finished it so fast.

Nice spot to park your car, grab a coffee and walk the beach. The staff is very friendly and the coffee is good. The place has a great vibe.

Note: This is based on two visits I made to the coffee shop nestled in the Riviera village. I always wanted to go here. So, I made a stop for my second cup of coffee of the day (first one being at my house). Hi-fi espresso has booth seating and regular seating with a roaster/kitchen area and the decor is retro/minimal (someone give me a better word to describe this coffee place). There is a also a dog bowl with water just outside making this coffee shop puppy friendly and they have two tables outside as well for additional seating. Whenever I visit a new coffee place, I start with a standard hot latte. If the the place can whip up a good, strong latte (not to bitter or acidic), then it lives up to it's name of Hi-Fi Espresso, and it did, it was smooth yet very strong. On my second visit, the barista I encountered was very nice. I saw cookies. I got one with chocolate chips and I could not believe it was vegan! It was sweet, covered in lots of chocolate chips and I enjoyed it. I also tried another latte, this time iced with apothecary syrup (roses and cardamon). I thought it would taste similar to that of Portola from the OC. Either the staff forgot to add the syrup or it was very very light, but unfortunately, I only got a regular iced latte with no syrup. I do want to go back to see how the other flavored lattes measure up, but if you want to check this place out, I can vouch for their standard latte.

The pastry I got that was too sweet for me.They have like 3 to 4 selections there. The service was average. The ambiance was fine.

i really thought i had a review here! hi fi just recently expanded they now have in shop roastery! there is more seating more merch love their coffee, love their decor, love their aesthetics, just overall a great cafe! they also recently closed their pop up location in dtmb, but beckers still sell their coffee.. their storefront locations are only in hb and rb. service is great and love that they do not charge for alt milk! i have not ordered food from here yet, but all their toasts sound delicious! my go to is always the iced french toast latte with oat. i do want to try the bees knees, one day.. parking: street/metered

Loooong lines at Hi Fi Espresso coffee shop. Seating is pretty limited although they do have booths for seating. Drink selections range from coffee to coconut water. I alao enjoyed their selection of protein bars by Big Spoon.

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. Recommended: Boston Cream $3.95 Butter Pistachio $4.95 Cookies & Cream $3.95 Crème Brûlée $4.95 Lemon Poppyseed $3.95 Raspberry Ring $3.95

Absent an answer to that question, I will admit donuts in the morning with a cup if my Peet's Coffee is usually a luxury to which I look forward. I knew I would be dropping my bestie at LAX so it wasn't out of the way to stop at Randy's. Like any self respecting lazy shopper, I ordered online the night before. None of the buttermilk/old fashioned options were available for online ordering but (surprise!) all of the buttermilk/old fashioned varieties were abundant in the glass case this morning. What's up with that? I was in the shop promptly at 929am for my confirmed pick-up at 930am. There was a line. Service wasn't speedy, and the chatter at the front of the line wasn't the right optics when you want to grab and go (especially knowing my order was ready). A five minute wait wasn't horrible, nor will it ruin my day. I grabbed the bright orange box that was handed to me and went on my way. At home I poured a fresh cup of piping hot Peet's Coffee, opened the box, snapped a shot and grabbed my most favorite donut of all. The plain. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I judge all donuts by the plain type. If the plain isn't great, no amount of glaze, icing, filling, or fancy toppings will make a donut great. After the first bite, I did not get any sense that this little guy was made fresh early this morning. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't have that fresh pillowy texture I love plain donuts to have. I dunno. Maybe it's me. Maybe donuts are no longer a favorite. Maybe I've had the best and nothing will ever compare. Maybe aliens are among us. Maybe Moon Pies will come back. Good in a pinch, the office crew will dig 'em and let's face it, the nostalgia alone is worth it. Sort of.

DineLA Food & Drink Order ($15): Breakfast Plate: Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes with 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (sunny-side up) $15.95 Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte $6.95 Server/Bartender: Andrew I have been a long time fan of Kirari West Bake Shop when it opened with much fanfare as a 100% gluten-free Japanese bakery with treats that defy the common undesirable traits of gluten-free goods: dense, dry, &/or gritty. When Kirari West Bake Shop (refer to Review #290) opened sister bakery, Confections by Kirari West, a couple of years ago, I bookmarked them for a visit but didn't get around to it until I saw them on 2026 DineLA. The confections bakery also sits in King Harbor Plaza, but south of its sister between Glaze Craze & King Harbor Spa, serving all-day breakfast, burger, sandwiches, & pizzas with teas, coffees, & smoothies. According to Andrew, KWBS bakes bread for CBKW & CBKW bakes treats & doughnuts for KWBS. Still not quite understanding the difference because KWBS also serves breakfast but in sandwiches & french toasts, & paninis, sandwiches, & salads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Initially focused solely on baked goods: artisan breads, scones, & Bake-At-Home gluten-free flour mixes, CBKW has evolved their menu to include sandwiches, pizza, quinoa bowls, & smoothies. The DineLA menu offered 3 options, & I deliberated between pancakes & chicken burger. I chose the Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes because they looked fluffy & divine in the owner pic; it includes 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (cooked sunny-side up). And picked an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with less ice for my drink. It was quiet for an early lunch, & a couple of ladies walked in after I finished ordering. The bakery cafe has its cozy charm with a lovely black & white mural on the right long wall that's great for selfies or social posts. There's 4 2-tops & counter seating facing the plaza/parking lot, no restroom (assuming sister KWBS will let you use theirs), & plenty of parking though it'll be challenging during lunch & dinner rush with so many eateries in the plaza. Andrew makes an awesomely refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte that rivals those from boba shops! Balanced sweetness with earthy, grassy matcha & generous dollops of real, sweet strawberry purée... soooooo good! Though smaller & a bit pricier than boba shops, it's a top-notch drink. My pancakes came shortly after; smells great but looks nothing like the pic, not fluffy, not golden. I love eating pancakes no matter the time of day, & these Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes had comforting notes of cinnamony warmth with random sweet bursts of blueberries. The texture is notably moist & airy, & not reminiscent of typical gluten-free foods which are dry & dense. Typical bacon & eggs, nothing unusual... I prefer thick cut bacon & on the crisper side, but the eggs were perfectly cooked, the whites were set with a runny yolk & crisp, brown edges. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger & quench my thirst. I'm lucky that I don't have any food allergies or restrictions. People with celiac disease require a gluten-free diet, & cooking/baking challenges stem from the lack of gluten for moisture, elasticity, & structure. Customers should know that Confections by Kirari West is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, so there's no worries of cross-contamination. I don't know how Chef Hiro Saito creates this tasty, gluten-free deliciousness here & KWBS... he uses high quality rice flour instead of wheat to create his delectable pastries. On 07/2025, CBKW along with sister KWBS were both designated as a Blue Zones Project Approved Restaurant. This means they're certified to offer healthier, longevity-focused menu options based on plant-slant & whole-food principles like those in Okinawa, Japan or Sardinia, Italy. Quality ingredients... craftsmanship... & sincerity... check, check, & check!! Yeah, I got you in my corner Confections by Kirari West! Recommended: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte, Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes with Bacon & Eggs.
