Wiggling in excitement thinking about the next time I can visit Racer Tea bar! Coffee is sooooo good here. Matcha was also heavenly. I think I know the secret, it's because they use Kangan water! Service is kind and friendly. There's limited table seating and bar seating, which is so conducive to making friends! When I went here, I was deciding on a movie to watch, and I was suggested to watch Project Hail Mary. Thank you so much for the recommendation, the movie was glorious! This place is cool. Literally steps away from the beach. It's got hip, rocker vibes and looks like a bar but they serve tea, lattes, toast, açaí bowls and Sundays. Got the strawberry chocolate and they said it's a recipe from the 1920s along with spoons from the 20s as well. What a throwback. Cool little place tucked away in a peaceful multi-business retail building. The entire building is a bit non-descript from the outside, but once you step inside the shop has a really cool theme and there's some tables outside on the patio that are really pleasant to sit out and enjoy your treats. I love the kind of old 20th century look. The inside is really something to behold and amazing the kind of bar where you wait, the pillar of pictures, the old motorcycle, all of it. Everytime I go to Redondo Beach, I stop in to have a tea. I've been here a few times. In the past I ordered a turmeric tea latte hot. It was so delicious. I went about a week ago and I didn't see it on the menu, so I tried "heart shaped box" iced. It was good, had some drizzled chocolate on the top. But the turmeric tea is still my fave. This tea bar has a really cool esthetic, you can sit at a bar or at small tables in the front. It's priced pretty average, about what a latte costs at a coffee shop. There is no parking lot, street parking is available for a fee. It's walking distance from the ocean! read more

I come here often to get a little work done or read a book. During the summers, I'll take my drink and snack out to the beach which is just down the street from this place. The staff always gives me recommendations after asking questions regarding my drink preferences and, they never fail to ask me if I want to order anything to eat to go with my drink. If I'm hungry, I'll usually go with The Grunge which has berries and sunflower butter. For my drink, I usually order The Rocker. I love the combination of Earl Grey and Lavender, but I also have ordered The Rude Boy if I don't want caffeinee. I would recommend any of those. This tea bar is appropriately calming inside with its dark walls and low lights, but it's also rock and roll themed which gives the place lots of character. Prices are expensive considering what is tangible/edible, but well worth it when you have the ocean breeze coming through the doors while you're enjoying your drink and reading a good book. Such an awesome and unique tea shop! The owner painted and designed the interior with a punk theme. Such a fun place to go by yourself or with friends and family. We came here after hearing about it on instagram. Super cool and unique spot. They serve teas, coffees, fountain drinks, sundaes and milkshakes and seem to have a whole menu of non alcoholic cocktails as well. There's a bar you can sit at after ordering and some two tops and a few outdoor tables as well. The service was a bit slow but everything on the menu is fairly complex so that's understandable. Hello, this is an update from Aug 2025 about this cafe! I visited 2+ years ago and had a lovely experience, this time I tried the The Greaser tea and it was fantastic! I was craving something energizing for the ride home, so I tried the Dragonfruit açaí bowl and it was really refreshing and delicious. Sat at the bar and waited for amazigness to happen. And happen it did. Drinks were delicious. Sundae was so so so good. And the service was delightful. A super great vibe. I really really enjoyed their seasonal Bananarama latte which is described as a banana muffin in a cup and I could not agree more. I love a warm banana muffin so how they managed to capture that flavor and put it in a cup *shook*. Seriously though, I went back a week later for the same latte. I also tried one of the acai bowls, which while I'm not a huge fan of what appeared to be acai out of a tub, it was pretty good with all the toppings and was the perfect portion to hold me over until lunchtime. I really loved the ambiance, kind of like a rockers dive bar paradise but instead of the smell of old beer and fried food it was a warm smell of tea and honey. Will definitely be back. Also, it's literal walking distance from the beach so extra star for that. read more

I wish I knew about this place sooner. A friend of mine took me there the other night for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Even though tea is not my favorite go to, I was impressed as soon as I walked in. Papa Roach was playing on the speakers. It had such a cool vibe. I ordered a Dream On and the barista put a nice foam on it. It was so delicious. My friend and I sat and enjoyed our warm drinks after a great walk on the esplanade. I was talking with the two other friends the very next night and telling them about Racer Tea that they insisted that we walk on the Esplanade rather than in Hermosa like we originally planned as they needed to try this place that I was raving about. Well they loved it and are now hooked. My 3rd visit (in 4 days) was yesterday morning after a 4 mile hike up in PV. Again I was talking about this cute little tea shop that they too insisted we stop by. Well 3 more new customers as they all loved it. I finally tried one of their breakfast toasts. It was so tasty. Saw a little sign on the esplanade advertising some cold tea on a sunny and hot Saturday morning, so we followed the directions and walked in to find a tea bar with a biker vibe. Super cool place, complete with a bar really awesome interior. Tried the tea flight consisting of the greaser (a chocolatey concoction with a trace of caramel), our favorites the punk (a traditional Thai iced tea) and the rasta (a coconut and pineapple tea with a hint of hibiscus) as well as the twist the throttle (black Thai tea with brown sugar). all the teas we tried were delicious and the staff really friendly. All the teas were cold brewed and were really rich and had just the right amounts of flavor and flavor hints, and the oat milk brought out the best in the drinks. Found out they have live music on Saturday nights and live comedy on Monday nights. Will definitely be back! read more

I went recently with my partner. It's right by the beach, as was a super cool looking place! A little small inside, but with tables and a bar there were still many places to sit down. I ordered The Punk, a Thai tea drink, while my partner ordered The Greaser latte, a mocha nut maté. We both each ordered The Hippie avocado toast with feta, onions, and tomatoes I believe, and the PB and Açaí bowls with strawberry, banana, honey, shredded coconut, and cacao nibs. Admittedly, I'm not a huge tea person, but I've always loved Thai Tea and The Punk was absolutely delicious. My partner really enjoyed The Greaser as well. The Hippie was absolutely delicious and so was the PB and Açaí. The service was good. My only gripe was the price-- With 20% tip, the whole order for the two drinks, two avocado toasts, and two açaí bowls was just over $80. I'm not bothered by the price; I recognize smaller businesses and I'm ready to pay the higher prices for better quality, more ethical sourcing, and (hopefully!) better working conditions, but it was definitely more expensive than yelp had led me to believe, so best to be prepared for that. Was walking by and came across this gem. It is NOT what you expect it just from the outside. Once you step in, you're def in for a treat. Biker vibes, polaroid wall, dark and vibey ambiance, and it even has a bar, that lights up from the flat table side. I ordered The Mod - it's genmai cha oat milk latte with brown sugar. The man takes his time brewing our tea with loose leaf so he tells us it'll be a few min. Hubby got The Greaser, which was good too, but we both liked The Mod better.
