I've been wanting to try this spot for quite some time and it was not what I expected. While the flavors were good, the acai base was very liquidy like a smoothie. I ordered the crunchy bowl and it felt like the spoon was just for the fruit and cacao toppings and it would've been more preferable if I had been given a straw. The crunch was really just the cacao- the granola was soggy. I'm not sure if this is the typical consistency of the acai bowls here but I wish it was more frozen or firm. More granola as well since it was a 'crunchy bowl'. Service was warm and friendly but I was disappointed with this experience given how pricey the bowl was.

Omg yum. Was craving an açaí bowl and most places were closed this late but oakberry was open until 930pm! Plus it was a great excuse to feel the ocean breeze picking up. Parking may be a bit difficult depending on the day and time but this is an excellent location. We got the mango in love bowl but subbed mango puree for the lassi. Added lots of goodies. I love the way they layer things here you never quite hit a spot where it tastes like a wall of plain açaí. The worker was friendly and the inside was clean if small (but to be expected right by the water). Will definitely come here again for this.

After visiting Brazil a number of times now, I learned what açaí should be and taste like and after trying Oakberry here in the states and in Brazil, Oakberry is not my personal favorite because it's premium price here, I taste the açaí more sweet, and the consistency is more soft smoothie-like, which I don't like. I prefer my acai less sweet, less-soft and smoothie like, and more textured former icy-like, and darker in color - a deeper berry purple. Super friendly staff and it's a nice ambiance right by the pier and beach and the sand. But I will not be returning to Oakberry in my opinion.

Tasty acai but it's also much sweeter than the acai from Paradise Bowls. Mom and I both got the Crunchy Bowl and I added whey protein to mine. Everything was yummy but it just tasted overly sweet. We did buy a package of their granola and peanut butter crumbles and there's quite a bit of added sugar in their granola. The peanut butter crumbles are amazing though, I've been sprinkling that on my oatmeal and other random food since we bought it! Think of homemade strudel topping texture except it's literally just peanut butter! One downside to how they layer these is that if you don't eat it right away, the chia pudding will literally freeze and then it becomes a hard puck in the middle of your bowl and you have to stab at it and bite off chunks so that was kind of annoying. But overall it filled us up and was a nice cold meal to enjoy on a hot day. But if I had to choose, I liked Paradise Bowls more as it wasn't so sugary sweet and had a bit better fresh fruit flavor compared to the acai.

I got the classic açaí bowl(front), my friend got the work size(next size up). For reference, I paid 12 dollars for mine, and it was unlimited toppings! The staff member building our bowls was super kind and made our bowls with care. Additionally, we were able to find seating on a Sunday evening and the place itself was pretty clean. I'd suggest eating your bowls at the beach right outside, just to really take it all in.

Not as good for the price. I've had lots of açaí bowls in the past, and this one was definitely on the more bland side - albeit, I did order the original, but for $16, I expected more. More granola and definitely more strawberries. The vibe is super nice obviously, being next to the pier. The service was subpar - think I just expected the worker to be more engaged. Especially since I was taking a while to read through the menu and asked a few questions about the items. Overall, would not pick this spot moving forward. Plenty of better acai bowls out there for $16 (or less!)

Food is ok just please keep in mind it's not Acai bowls, it's like smoothies. The mix is more liquid than regular Acai bowls. And the toppings are so little I ate the granola in one bite. Service is average. Not great but not bad. Ambiance is cute, the restaurant across the street has live bands on weekends. Other than being on the pier it's not really special.

Oh Boy, nothing can go wrong with a cup of açaí after strolling the Strand the whole morning. The store is located in the heart of the Hermosa Beach Pier, small but with seatings outside. The order process is quite easy with the oversized overhead menu display. The place was quite busy when we were there, however we still got our order placed in less than 5 minutes. The options are endless with their big variety of toppings. Our cup had banana, blueberry, cocoa nibs, peanut, coconut, peanut butter, granola... Did I forget anything else? Wow, what a treat...kind of sad that they discontinued paçoca (Brazilian ground peanut power) nevertheless the other options made up for it.

Such a refreshing snack! Loved the variety and choices for the toppings. Just -1 for the service.

Oakberry Açaí in Hermosa Beach is located at the pier near all the bars. The açaí here is absolutely delicious! I love getting the build your own cup where you can add whichever toppings you'd like. They have various different nuts, fruits and butters to choose from. Parking is the typical beach parking.. you can park in the structure or on the street. You most likely will have to pay for parking. There's a few high chair seats to enjoy your meal at outside the restaurant. You get a nice beach vibe with the atmosphere. The staff was nice and friendly. I would recommend this place to other people.

Who else craves a nice cold açaí bowl when cruising around the beach? Me!! Oakberry is conveniently located at the Hermosa Pier and is a refreshing treat to get on a sunny day. Grab an acai bowl and enjoy the beautiful beach view. My only gripe about acai bowls is that they can get very pricey. :( Instagram: @jessgoeat

There is a parking lot behind the store where you can park quickly for pickup I guess. Really close to the store and if only for pickup I imagine you won’t have to pay.

We ate half of our meals that day and finished the leftovers on the 23rd. On Christmas Eve morning, I woke up violently ill. I spent the next several days isolated in a bedroom, unable to keep anything down, constantly vomiting, and dealing with severe gastrointestinal symptoms. It was the sickest I have ever felt in my life with severe nausea. At the same time, my 3‑year‑old daughter suddenly spiked a 103.5° fever and developed diarrhea. My husband had to rush her to urgent care, and from there she was sent to the ER so she could receive fluids. Watching my child go through that was terrifying. After a week of not improving, I went to urgent care and tested positive for Salmonella poisoning. My daughter also tested positive while she was hospitalized. We are both still dealing with symptoms. I am going on a second strong course of antibiotics today. After my test result was reported, the LA County Department of Public Health contacted me. They told me that another woman in Redondo Beach, who had eaten the same salad on 12/22, also tested positive for Salmonella and had been hospitalized for several days. I later spoke with her and her family, and hearing her story was heartbreaking. LA County has opened an investigation, and I am cooperating fully. I'm sharing what happened to us in hopes that it helps others stay aware and safe.
