El Koreano* ** (half greens; half ancient grains)

Insanely good fast casual! I love that there is a huge selection for a variety of dietary preferences. I had no problem finding something gluten free & dairy free. The El Koreano bowl was so delicious and flavorful. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend the strawberry matcha, a wonderful spring/summer twist.

Another stellar meal. Rainy night, great service and excellent food. Edamame wontons, Thai chicken, and the Kabobs Mediterraneo. Plus the most PERFECT jasmine milk tea ever. Thank you Valentina for your outstanding customer service.

Still 5 stars. Just coming back to say the tofu shroom sandwich is legit. Very delicious. I'm not writing another rap again, but it deserves a shout out no less.

One of my favorite fresh, local spots to eat! The salads are always amazing--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The bowls are hearty without being heavy, and the drinks are light, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day. Everything here really hits the spot. It has a cool beach vibe with that laid-back California flair. Seating is limited, so it's more of a grab-and-go kind of place, but the quality more than makes up for it. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Drinks were refreshing! The strawberry matcha was yummy not too sweet. I didn't grab any food but next time for sure :)

Quick and easy dinner here! I tried the Insalata Mediterranea which I thought was quite good. It probably won't blow you away as the most amazing salad you've ever eaten but it was fresh and the dressing had a wonderful flavor to it. There was a lot of goat cheese in mine but I liked it! The chickpeas and tomatoes were a great addition as well. And I was surprised I got full from just this salad. Mom got the teriyaki chicken which she also enjoyed and the kids portion was plenty big for her. Simple, healthy, and good tasting food. I'd eat here again and maybe try one of their sandwiches next time.

It's been a while since we've eaten here but it certainly doesn't disappoint. I had the salmon bowl and husband had the shrimp tacos. His tacos were full of shrimp and he loved them. My bowl had a big piece of salmon with a green sauce, grilled veggies and ancient grains. It was delicious. Many tasty choices on the menu and we will return. Highly recommend.

Turkey Burger with Side Salad and a Cucumber Coolness Refresher

This was one of the best meals I've had in my life...and I've been to several restaurants of all types. The Turkey burger with egg with its unique combination of toppings was remarkably flavorful (i skipped the house cranberry bbq sauce on the burger but tried it and it was superb). I couldn't be happier to have walked by and stopped in for the most delicious lunch!

    Pork Belly Banh MI**

I tried this place for lunch recently. It's a small, Asian/Cuban fusion spot that serves healthy bowls, plates, and sandwiches. There aren't too many tables inside so I wouldn't recommend for large groups. It's better for takeout. There were so many delicious-sounding options to choose from. I finally decided on the Pork Belly Banh Mi sandwich which was similar to and better than the Mendocino Farms one. The portions were huge (I couldn't even finish my sandwich which rarely happens LOL) and they were very generous with the pork belly. It came with a small side salad. Overall delicious, well balanced, and made fresh! I definitely want to come back and try their bowls soon. FYI their bathroom is located outside around the corner. Ask the worker for the password to key in to the bathroom.

Solid food! The VIP poke bowl I got tasted fresh, flavorful, and delicious. It's interesting that Rabano is a fusion Asian-Cuban-Peruvian restaurant, and it offers so many different dishes, all with a healthy spin on them. I'd be interested in trying more out!

    Tofu taco

This review is based off delivery but dine in soon. Korean Mexican fusion I was impressed with selections I chose. Fried wonton edamame, tofu tacos, and matcha oatmilk tea. The fried edamame wontons was a surprise. I usually can't digest edamame but how they made it was tolerable, light, and crispy. The tofu tacos were tasty but the chipotle sauce was a bit bland. The salsa tasted fresh and leveled. The matcha was good but I think it was too sweet despite 75% less sweet option, next time I'll op-out of any sweetening but still worth drinking. You can customize your orders which is brilliant for any diets. I will try more options soon!

This location is much smaller than the Santa Monica location but the taste is (almost) the same! I got the same dish in Santa Monica as well but the Hermosa Beach location had drier pork. I guess it was just a bad day for pork but it was still good! I live quite far from both locations so I was still very happy to eat it again. I wish one would open up near me!

The whole restaurant is door dash delivery people waiting for multiple orders.

What kind of oil is used for cooking/frying?

B.V., in response to your question, our restaurant uses a combination of Olive Oil/Grapeseed for our cooking and sauteing, and for everything else, including salad dressings and frying, non-gmo Sunflower oil.

    Do they deliver locally?

Hello Bobbie, yes we currently deliver through Doordash. Thank you.

This little downtown area had a few different restaurants we were considering, but thanks to my wife wanting to use a washroom right away we ended up coming here. This small, but nice restaurant looks exactly how a place should look near the ocean and had a super friendly employee take our orders as well. For lunch I ended up doing the 3 for $21 deal which is exactly that, a fantastic deal. I ended up choosing the House Fries, the Tempura Fish Tacos, and the 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich. How was it? House Fries- Covered in Grana Padano and Mustard Aioli, these French Fries were super crispy and tasted really, really good. Tempura Fish Tacos- Two tacos that I wish I could transform into 20. The Tempura fish here was absolutely delicious. 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich- A few different cheeses between some sourdough, a simple but fantastic grilled cheese sandwich. Overall, The Hook & Plow was a fantastic place to stop for some lunch and I plan on checking out the other locations now. Between really great service and really great food, this place is a definite must if you find yourself in the Hermosa Beach area.

And Hubbers suggested this place for a late-ish lunch because he's been here before and had a positive experience. Outdoor seating only since we had the furballs. We had our choice of where since we were the only customers on a late lunch hour. Servers were so patient with our pups (even when they were moody - my apologies!) and were even nice enough to bring them water bowls! It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn't damper anything. In fact, we appreciated it coming off the heat wave from the last couple of weeks! Everything on their menu looked so good, it took me awhile to decide. But Hubbers and I agreed on the Kayak Tide Tray (+4 extra oysters) and the charred watermelon salad. In the meanwhile, I battled between lobster pasta and five dragon pastrami. (The pasta won out.) Hubbers went for the cedar planked Ora king salmon. And a couple of cocktails to wash it all down! KAYAK TIDE TRAY: The seasoned scallops were my favorites, hands down. The sauce was fantastic and didn't overpower the scallops' main essence. The oysters were shucked fresh and the sauces elevated the flavors a bit. Shrimps were chilled tender and had a nice chew. Cocktail sauce added flavor. The mussels? Sad to say, but half of them were served still frozen hard. So we took our time with it and let it thaw out which didn't happen until we were halfway our meal. Overall: excellent. CHARRED WATERMELON: This plate was so well put together! And not only is it pleasing to the eyes (nice touch with the micros!), it was the same with the palate. Watermelon was fresh. Charred only on one side (I'm curious what it would be like if they charred ALL the sides - will make this request - only if possible - next time!) Taking bites from each component of this salad makes all the difference: the acidity of the tomatoes are tempered by the burrata and the cucumbers, and the freshness of the watermelon makes it all refreshing. The onions added a bit of tart, as did the pomegranates. Didn't notice any macadamia nuts, but no matter! This is a must have! LOBSTER PASTA: Didn't happen... see below. LOBSTER ROLL: Served along with Hubbers' salmon plate (more on that later.) We had a different server at this point (our first one told us he was going on his break.) I thought Hubbers put in an order of this too, so I moved the plate to his side. Our server noticed this and said, "Are you sharing? Would you like an extra plate?" Hubbers confirmed he didn't other this. And that neither did I, but we are waiting on the lobster pasta. He then explained they are out of that dish, "was this not related to you?" Long story short, I told him I'd take the roll, no biggie. He offered to comp it, and if I like, I can put in another order. So I went for the pastrami. And as we waited for that, Hubbers and I split this and WOW. Bread was toasted and buttered perfect, generous with the amount of lobster, plating was a delight to the eyes, and overall delicious. I appreciated the aroma of the tarragon. Yum! FIVE DRAGON PASTRAMI: This is a generous serving, plenty to share with another. Lots of flavors with each bite but the well-seasoned and flavored pastrami dominates them all. The slaw was strong but the subtleness of the lappi balanced it out. Sourdough was perfectly toasted. I thought about not ordering this since I knew the lobster roll might have been enough, but I'm sure glad I went for it! Delish! Hubbers let me have a couple of bites off his salmon plate and O.M.G.!!! He sure picked a good one! Skin was seasoned crispy and the fish was so moist! This is probably one of the best versions of salmon I've had. (For the record, I rarely order anything salmon since 90-95% of the time, they're served dry, but this one here, I'd highly recommend.) FOOD: 4.75. SERVICE: 5. They were AMAZING!!! VALUE: 4. Given the location, pricing is understandable. But worth it. PARKING: Street/Structure only. All metered. And getting here will require a bit of a walk depending on where you parked. OVERALL: 4.5. Plans on coming back here with more people is now in the works. Looking forward to doing that soon!

Not amazing but a solid starter. The badger flame beet salad was very tasty with pistachio and ruby red grapefruit. Not much greens but delicious. The hamachi crudo tasted fresh but I'm a purist and always prefer the fish flavor over the vinaigrette dressing. The beef tartare was a tad under seasoned imo. The mains blew my mind. Usually the mains are outshined by the starters in a fine dining establishment. Not here! The Indian egg was something I've never had. A soft boiled egg enveloped with an Indian spiced sausage was surrounded by cucumber, sumac, and yogurt. A mandatory order. The smoked and fried chicken (brined a few days prior per our server) was hot, delicious, and complimented with a soy and chile sauce. Great meal in itself. Get it! Hand rolled spaghetti was coiled with a mixture of mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. Super savory. Great starch, goes well with everything. Can't wait to try more dishes during future visits!

I sat outside with my friend and my dog, and the server was so kind to bring my pup a bowl of water -- such a thoughtful touch. There are only about five tables outside, which made it feel cozy and relaxed. I didn't get a chance to see the inside, but the outdoor seating was very comfortable and charming. Will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

It was early for rhe brunch crowd so it was quiet and plenty of seats. I got the French Benedict, ever since I discovered Brie in breakfast! It was delicious. The potatoes were amazing and so was the jam that they served with the bread. I couldn't finish it. I did have the red sangria which was refreshed and the glass of the hibiscus mimosa, which looked super pretty but I'm pretty sure it's just champagne and a flower inside of it. Service was good and again, it was earlier on a Sunday so I avoided the brunch crowd and there was a decent amount of parking.

A friend suggested this restaurant for a small group brunch. It is right on the Redondo Beach…read moreboardwalk. I thought parking would be a nightmare, but there are ample parking spots with inexpensive metered parking. We got a seat in a comfortable booth right by a large window overlooking the marina. I was not planning to have a cocktail but they had so many good choices, including a rum based guava and passion fruit cocktail that just felt right. I didn't even finish reading the menu when I saw the blackened scallop with mushroom risotto dish. The scallops were tender and well seasoned. The risotto was very creamy, cheesy and comforting but the seasoning was mostly truffle oil. I had one slice of fresh mushroom on my plate. It would have been a 10/10 if it had more mushrooms. My friends ordered the cod fish and chips and a beet salad. I tasted the fries and they were delicious and just right with a light batter giving them crunch.

Ok...so 4 years ago this was mine and my husbands absolute fave place. The food, the drinks, the…read moreservice, the vibes. All were immaculate. We went here on Thursday and just nothing really hit the mark. The sprouts are overcooked, the calamari isn't as good as used to be, the Cesar salad dressing was bland and watery, the fries have changed and weren't as good, the fish and chips were over battered and the batter was like bready. So yeah, big bummer. The drinks were ok. Our waitress was super forgetful and seemed like she was scared of the world. She was writing stuff down and still forgot stuff and we had to ask multiple times. My friend had also ordered the steak and she didn't ask her which one so of course she charged for the more expensive one. Idk if we'll come back
