Avocado toast with 6 min eggs
    Stephanie F.

I enjoyed the ambiance and the food here very much! I stopped by after my haircut nearby, looking for a nice place to have coffee and brunch. The avocado toast with egg was delicious and the latte was great too. It was easy to order at the counter and the staff were friendly. The seating was nice too, with lots of open windows looking out to Pier Ave. The price point was slightly higher than I was hoping, but it was worth it as a nice treat for myself.

I try to come every morning because they the best cute little cappuccino's. It's a healthy little organic cafe. The staff is always friendly. Today was my 1st time trying breakfast & it was so yummy.

Love this place! The space itself had the perfect vibe--simple, natural, and chill. Lots of sunlight! I ordered the avocado toast which was really good--the cashew cream on it was unique, but I liked it... definitely a different flavor from most avocado toasts i've tried. I didn't love the iced turmeric latte... was kind of expecting it to be like an iced chai latte, but it just tasted like those healthy pressed juices. The staff was super friendly. Overall, awesome spot with lots of nutritious but tasty options. Great for an easy breakfast or drink.

As always my #1 go-to restaurant in ALL OF LA where I know I can walk in here, order any single item on the menu, and trust that I will walk out of here with a delicious meal and feeling great. I always know that Chef Amber & Cindy are using the highest quality of ingredients that are good for my body. Prices are on the higher end of your average South Bay "cafe," but the quality of food is anything but average - everything they make is top tier with carefully selected ingredients for flavor and health. I love all of the staff here; everyone is so kind and thoughtful. They have a cute indoor seating setup along with some outdoor seating (such a bummer that the street seating was finally removed by the city post-pandemic, but that's obviously out of their control). I drive from Westchester regularly to grab breakfast/lunch here and work from the cafe.

We ended up at Source Cafe by default. It was the 7am hour and we were looking for a breakfast place that had vegan options. Love the small neighborhood cafe vibe with good music. The Avocado Toast comes with cashew cream, avocado, radish, parsley, and sumac on what looks like wheat bread. Great mix of flavors and textures. Pretty to look at! Good portion size too since it comes with 4 pieces (2 large bread slices cut in half). https://bit.ly/3KzPeNx Tofu Walnut Tacos are TASTY! Not sure what magic is performed on this concoction but the filling is made of tofu, butternut squash, kale, walnut, tomato, onion, curry, and cilantro with a side of hot sauce. This comes on cassava tortillas which have a more pliable and chewy texture. https://bit.ly/3RmvDUZ Sharing these two dishes with my mom, this was a pretty filling meal! We ate around 7:30am and I wasn't hungry for my next meal until about 2pm. Service was friendly. I was bummed they didn't have the Beet Root Latte at the time but hopefully I can check that out on my next visit.

Tasty but pricey! A cute cafe in the downtown hermosa beach area. I lucked out and found metered street parking on Pier St. I love how committed this place is to fueling the body with fresh, nutrient dense foods. And the gluten free selection is truly amazing! I got the curry egg salad on paleo toast and it was delicious! Could use a bit of hot sauce but other than that, I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. It's pricey and not very filling but yummy nonetheless. I also got a latte with house made oat milk. It's pretty flavorless but the oat milk is creamy and smooth. Too expensive for a not great coffee so I'd skip this next time and get coffee at another shop near by. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating - both really great options as the cafe does a great job of the beachy cute atmosphere. The employees are nice and the food comes out quickly.

The food was very healthy and tasteful. The service was decent and the ambiance was pleasant. I enjoyed the salmon bowl with no rice. It was very refreshing. I paired my meal with a beet juice and it was delicious.

I love their panini so much I get this almost every week! The source has great fresh, nutritious food, probably the best spot in Hermosa for healthy food Most food are organic and locally produced. My favorite smoothie is the Cacaco Almond Buttercup, the first time I got it was because it was said to help with one's energy and it does just that! Service is great, the staff are so nice and friendly. The place itself is cozy, I love sitting outside when it's a nice sunny day! I usually stay inside if I wanna get some work done and studying done :) but there's no WiFi. Overall one of my favorite spots and really recommend it to yall

We ate half of our meals that day and finished the leftovers on the 23rd. On Christmas Eve morning, I woke up violently ill. I spent the next several days isolated in a bedroom, unable to keep anything down, constantly vomiting, and dealing with severe gastrointestinal symptoms. It was the sickest I have ever felt in my life with severe nausea. At the same time, my 3‑year‑old daughter suddenly spiked a 103.5° fever and developed diarrhea. My husband had to rush her to urgent care, and from there she was sent to the ER so she could receive fluids. Watching my child go through that was terrifying. After a week of not improving, I went to urgent care and tested positive for Salmonella poisoning. My daughter also tested positive while she was hospitalized. We are both still dealing with symptoms. I am going on a second strong course of antibiotics today. After my test result was reported, the LA County Department of Public Health contacted me. They told me that another woman in Redondo Beach, who had eaten the same salad on 12/22, also tested positive for Salmonella and had been hospitalized for several days. I later spoke with her and her family, and hearing her story was heartbreaking. LA County has opened an investigation, and I am cooperating fully. I'm sharing what happened to us in hopes that it helps others stay aware and safe.

It's a shame because its literally the owner who is the rude one in my experience, not any of his staff. His staff never gives me any of his same stinky vibes. P.U. dude... Sorry, but I don't need to feel tension or your bad energy when I'm paying you like $7 for a flat white that takes you 30 seconds to make for me. Sorry to be such a big bother for asking about some of your food items to see if they are vegan so I could possibly pay you more money to buy a food product from you. SORRY FOR TRYING TO SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS BY GIVING YOU BUSINESS WITH MY MONEY!!! SORRY!!! Two of us ordered the Buddha vegan bowl (9/10; quinoa was fluffy, tofu was tasty but a little firm for me, everything else about it was fresh and well-done. The mushroom serving was my favorite part.) My friend ordered the Beef Macro bowl (9/10: beef was the best part and everything else was good. The wild rice was tender; but it tastes "healthy"). And Hubbers suggested this place for a late-ish lunch because he's been here before and had a positive experience. Outdoor seating only since we had the furballs. We had our choice of where since we were the only customers on a late lunch hour. Servers were so patient with our pups (even when they were moody - my apologies!) and were even nice enough to bring them water bowls! It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn't damper anything. In fact, we appreciated it coming off the heat wave from the last couple of weeks! Everything on their menu looked so good, it took me awhile to decide. But Hubbers and I agreed on the Kayak Tide Tray (+4 extra oysters) and the charred watermelon salad. In the meanwhile, I battled between lobster pasta and five dragon pastrami. (The pasta won out.) Hubbers went for the cedar planked Ora king salmon. And a couple of cocktails to wash it all down! KAYAK TIDE TRAY: The seasoned scallops were my favorites, hands down. The sauce was fantastic and didn't overpower the scallops' main essence. The oysters were shucked fresh and the sauces elevated the flavors a bit. Shrimps were chilled tender and had a nice chew. Cocktail sauce added flavor. The mussels? Sad to say, but half of them were served still frozen hard. So we took our time with it and let it thaw out which didn't happen until we were halfway our meal. Overall: excellent. CHARRED WATERMELON: This plate was so well put together! And not only is it pleasing to the eyes (nice touch with the micros!), it was the same with the palate. Watermelon was fresh. Charred only on one side (I'm curious what it would be like if they charred ALL the sides - will make this request - only if possible - next time!) Taking bites from each component of this salad makes all the difference: the acidity of the tomatoes are tempered by the burrata and the cucumbers, and the freshness of the watermelon makes it all refreshing. The onions added a bit of tart, as did the pomegranates. Didn't notice any macadamia nuts, but no matter! This is a must have! LOBSTER PASTA: Didn't happen... see below. LOBSTER ROLL: Served along with Hubbers' salmon plate (more on that later.) We had a different server at this point (our first one told us he was going on his break.) I thought Hubbers put in an order of this too, so I moved the plate to his side. Our server noticed this and said, "Are you sharing? Would you like an extra plate?" Hubbers confirmed he didn't other this. And that neither did I, but we are waiting on the lobster pasta. He then explained they are out of that dish, "was this not related to you?" Long story short, I told him I'd take the roll, no biggie. He offered to comp it, and if I like, I can put in another order. So I went for the pastrami. And as we waited for that, Hubbers and I split this and WOW. Bread was toasted and buttered perfect, generous with the amount of lobster, plating was a delight to the eyes, and overall delicious. I appreciated the aroma of the tarragon. Yum! FIVE DRAGON PASTRAMI: This is a generous serving, plenty to share with another. Lots of flavors with each bite but the well-seasoned and flavored pastrami dominates them all. The slaw was strong but the subtleness of the lappi balanced it out. Sourdough was perfectly toasted. I thought about not ordering this since I knew the lobster roll might have been enough, but I'm sure glad I went for it! Delish! Hubbers let me have a couple of bites off his salmon plate and O.M.G.!!! He sure picked a good one! Skin was seasoned crispy and the fish was so moist! This is probably one of the best versions of salmon I've had. (For the record, I rarely order anything salmon since 90-95% of the time, they're served dry, but this one here, I'd highly recommend.) FOOD: 4.75. SERVICE: 5. They were AMAZING!!! VALUE: 4. Given the location, pricing is understandable. But worth it. PARKING: Street/Structure only. All metered. And getting here will require a bit of a walk depending on where you parked. OVERALL: 4.5. Plans on coming back here with more people is now in the works. Looking forward to doing that soon!
