Great location, nice seating inside and out. Friendly service. Nice menu selection. Close to the beach. I ordered a latte and unfortunately wasn't the biggest fan. It kinda tasted like a cup of sweetened milk. Really wanted to like this place but the coffee fell flat for me.
The Hive is such a great spot for a fresh, healthy breakfast -- everything we ordered tasted clean, vibrant, and made with care. We loved both the breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast -- simple, but packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The location is perfect, with ocean views right from the indoor seating area, which makes it an ideal place to start the day. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the overall vibe was bright and welcoming. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back.
Love stumbling across new cafes in the SouthBay! The Hive is a super cute cafe in Manhattan Beach. It offers healthy superfoods for breakfast, protein bowls, açaí, coffee, smoothies and more! It has both indoor and outdoor seating. There isn't a whole lot of seating, so not ideal for a large group. Parking was a bit challenging as I only saw street parking and not a parking lot available. Hubby and I got coffee and a little snack. I got the horchata latte and hubby got a bee keeper latte. We also got a sweet treat to share, a chocolate donut. The lattes were delicious and the donut..... probably one of the best donuts I've had. The service was great with friendly staff. I also love the brightness of the space. Bright vibrant colors! I'll be back to try one of their bowls.
Getting tired of the usual coffee shops especially the commercial types (Starbucks etc ) I found this place to take my wife to. This is a jewel of a find. Their menu include protein bowls, açaí bowls, avocado toast and variety of drinks. I had an avocado toast while my wife has açaí bowl and mushroom cacao. The avocado toast was almost too beautiful to eat! But when I did, it was a fantastic contrast of flavors with its radish and pickled onions on smashed avocado and cherry tomatoes. The açaí bowl was just as good as anywhere else. The mushroom cacao tasted nothing like mushrooms. The ambience of the place is wonderful. We sat at the mezzanine with a clear view of Manhattan beach. Just too bad it was a gloomy day but still a beautiful beach view. I recommend this place especially for a quiet escape from the bustle of Starbucks and the like. and let's not forget how friendly the staff is! Big plus!
06-2025 I usually frequent the Hive in Santa Monica, but the Manhattan Beach location blew me away! The view and window seating create such a vibe--you just want to linger. I ordered my go-to breakfast bowl (no kale), and it was as delicious as ever, perfectly prepared. Angel, who was holding down the fort solo for a bit, deserves a huge shoutout. Despite the rush, they were incredibly pleasant, friendly, and efficient. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service--Hive Manhattan Beach is a must-visit!

My last friend ordered the salmon bowl (9/10: all of us raved about the salmon. Had the same wild rice. I liked it but my friend said it was too soft for her. The rest of the items that came with it were similar and tasty). Before I left, Molly helped me order a mushroom reishi hot chocolate drink. Molly was so sweet and helpful. She recommended the homemade almond milk. (8/10). The ambiance was warm and cozy. I loved the multi-level structure. Therefore, the name, "The Hive". Cute design and a good place to bring a computer and have a quiet spot to chill.
Came due to the high Yelp! recommendations for inexpensive breakfasts with vegan options. While I decided against the vegan options, the mocha & breakfast burrito were good- but they weren't inexpensive. I'd call it an average price for delicious food. But the service was great, and the view of the ocean was really nice. B+
I've ordered the Hive's build your own bowl twice now as takeout and it's been super good both times ! Their steak portion is generous and perfectly seasoned. The meat is not too well done and is tender. Their toppings are well executed. I like their Brussels sprouts and broccolini. The ambiance inside isn't my favorite hence why I order takeout but I'll continue ordering to-go from here !
Today we had the pleasure for a 2nd Saturday in a row to get drinks and today something to eat at The Hive!! This is one of the coolest spots with a very nice view while relaxing after a long morning walk! Service is fast and the food is delicious. Please stop in and try them out!
Cute, bright cafe with outdoor seating. Grabbed a smoothie with a friend and sat outside to bask in the ocean air. The service was friendly. You order and pay first, then they'll bring it out to you. They have a couple of spots for parking in their garage, otherwise, there's some metered street parking. If you order a smoothie to-go, it appears that you get more than if you drink it there, so that would be my tip. This place is on the pricier side but it's very health-focused.

One star becuase the view is very beautiful & located super close to the beach. Unfortunately, the drinks were horrid. I do feel a little bad because the workers gave me another drink when I didn't like mine, but the second one was just as bad. The milk tasted sour.. the espresso tasted burnt.. the coconut cold foam was not sweet at all. The Bee Keeper Latte has great presentation but is probably the worst latte I've tried in 2026. The vanilla latte was terrible too. The matcha latte was honestly alright. It was tolerable, but I would not come back. read more

Cool restaurant with perfect location to the beach. A lot of good options on the menu to eat that are healthy and filling. Delicious coffees too! I knew I wanted to stop in when I saw they had chaggacino on the menu. I had Donnie's Breakfast Burrito and it was very big portion I ended up saving some for the next day. Good prices as well and nice service. Cute place to grab a bite in MB! read more

Great healthy beach cafe with an amazing view of Manhattan Beach. The freshly painted mural gives the cafe a pop of color and stands out on the street. There are seats both outside on the patio and inside on the 2nd floor which is a short walk up the stairs. They have a vast selection of smoothies, teas, coffees, and breakfast/ lunch options. My friend and I decided to try their coffees, the Alchemy bowl, and their Salmon Benedict special. Loved the colors in my coconut acai bowl! It definitely was a dessert like bowl but a teeny bit healthier with some superfoods in it. Our salmon Benedict was fresh and also a great choice that they should keep on the menu. The coffees were quite bland, but the girl offered us more stevia drops which definitely helped! We stayed for a bit to get some work done and the views of the ocean and sunset were definitely worth visiting for! read more

The service was Garry and the cashier was so helpful helping us order. They had their own parking lot too. It was beach prices for a coffee and smoothie and two toasts we spent $60. Lovely atmosphere! Tons of seating and the owner is very nice. I got the honey matcha with almond milk- it was good, but I wish I got it with oatmilk and maybe a diff kind of sweetener. But I appreciate all the options for customizations and the prices were very fair for its location. I'll be going back for sure! read more

Dropped off daughter at beach camp and was looking for something healthy for me and my 7yr old son. Found The Hive and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious (beef bowl) meat cooked to perfection. Amazing spot!!! They have free parking which is amazing. The service was wonderful and they have so many options. I got my burrito so fast and what a cool view of the beautiful manhattan beach. I will definitely come back to try some smoothies! read more
This spot is excellent. The space itself is amazing. I like how there is both a shallow downstairs and upstairs area. My view was of the ocean which was fantastic. The area was simple yet beachy/tropical--chill & refreshing vibes to start off the morning. I liked how there were board games available at the upper level. I first ordered the ricotta rose toast because it intrigued me--I planned to order it without honey before I even arrived but forgot...oops. As someone who isn't the biggest honey fan, it did feel heavy on the honey (and pistachios) lol... but that's on me. It was definitely an interesting blend of flavors. I then instead ordered the BYO smoothie bowl where I got the rose coconut base, mango, shredded coconut, chia/hempseed, and coconut nectar. This was fantastic. It tasted like a fancy sorbet. I definitely recommend the rose coconut base + coconut nectar pairing. It was so refreshing. The chai was good. I did work here for a couple hours, and it was the perfect setting--so peaceful. The employees were good. You really can't beat this location. I definitely recommend! read more

this spot quickly became a favorite in manhattan beach! so many gluten free/healthy options, convenient location near the beach and a lovely outdoor bar area. inside, there are multiple levels of seating so there's privacy/the ability to work from there. the decor is so cute, the food was so fresh and the staff was really nice! read more
New Hive location in Manhattan Beach on Highland. Same great bee themed artwork. Same healthy menu. Lots and lots and lots of options. I'm a fan of the OG breakfast burrito. Great coffee and other drinks. Smoothies are a must too. Lots of light. Ocean views. Not a ton of seating indoor or on the patio...but definitely worth a visit. Bee Yourself! read more

I stopped by The Hive Café in Manhattan Beach this morning and left thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the service, ambience, and coffee all hit the mark. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth and a smile. They took the time to explain the menu and even helped me pick between a few coffee options. The space is bright, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and I loved how natural light poured in. Their coffee is outstanding. I ordered a cappuccino and was delighted by the smooth, rich flavor and just the right balance of foam and espresso. It was clear they care about the roast and preparation. read more

Randomly decided to try this place: Ordered a beef bowl and a bee keepers friend drink with oat milk. Really good. Service was really great. Friendly staff. The cashier actually suggested my drink and I absolutely loved it. The beef bowl was really healthy and filling and ingredients tasted fresh. The Bee keepers friend drink was a coffee with honey and cold foam and bee pollen on top. I would come back for this every time. It was perfectly sweetened by honey and the pollen was so nice with each sip of foam. Really really well done. My sister ordered the Buddha Bowl and said it was really good. The mix of flavors were really balanced and tasted good. Inside there are a few spots to sit inside and outside but it's not too many. It seems to get full pretty fast. They do have seats outside all around as well. Just a very limited in space overall if it even gets slightly busy. I understand because I am looking to come back and try more stuff when I'm in the area. Parking is limited. Only 3 spaces in the lot next to the cafe. Otherwise it's street parking. Not the easiest to find during the weekends for sure. Good luck! This place is worth a try! read more
