It is always a pleasure to dine in downtown in El Segundo and I was excited to finally check out Jame Enoteca, which is located right at the heart of area. I was impressed with the clean and modern look of Jane Enoteca from the moment I walked in. Their dishes consist of several handmade pastas, salads and Italian inspired comfort food. My friend and I chose to start our meals with the Meatballs and Brussels Sprouts. Being a Brussels Sprouts fan, I really enjoyed their roasted crispy Brussels sprouts that were tossed in schiaffoni dressing and finished with sesame. Equal in deliciousness were their Meatballs. The Meatballs were tender, rich and saucy. These starters were a great way to kick off our meal here. For our mains, we got their Paccheri Lisci and Tonnarelli. The Paccheri Lisci had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It has spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage and pecorino. It was meaty and flavorful. The Tonnarelli or Cacio e Pepe contrasted nicely with the Paccheri Lisci. This pasta dish was simple, sharp and peppery. This was more bold versus saucy. Last but not least we had some cookies for dessert. I loved the fresh baked snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies. It was a sweet and perfect ending to the meal here. I visited this restaurant yesterday with family during lunch. The food here was very good. The meatballs I had as an appetizer were light, not dense. The sauce was well balanced and wispy. I usually don't like olives, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the olives here. I think it had to do with the fact that these olives were marinated, not brined. I don't like briny stuff. The Tonnarelli was the highlight of the meal. The sauce was thick and creamy, and coated the pasta nicely. The pasta was cooked al dente, making it perfectly firm and chewy. For my drink, I had the Light and Stormy mocktail which had lemon, ginger, lime, and mint in it. It was slightly carbonated and tasted like a really good virgin mojito. I would say the service here was good, not great. It took like 10 minutes for a server to come to us after we were seated to take our order. However, our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. Parking here was tricky. There were lots of reserved parking spaces on the lot for specific businesses. You may get lucky finding an open parking spot on site, but we had to drive around to find one. This place is a nice spot for family gatherings. I've been dining at Jame since it first opened in El Segundo, and it has been a go-to spot for me, my family, and friends ever since. I've had many great meals here. The food and drinks are consistently good, and I appreciate the seasonal specials that keep things interesting. Service has always been friendly and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. That said, I've started to notice a few issues as it has gotten more crowded. There is a strong, persistent smell of mop water or cleaning solution when you walk in. I understand the importance of cleanliness, but it is off-putting when you are trying to enjoy a meal. I thought it was just me at first, but my sister mentioned it too, so it seems noticeable to others. During our most recent visit, we brought my parents for the first time on a Saturday, and the atmosphere felt especially chaotic. Two separate tables near us had accidents where glassware was dropped and shattered, one at a nearby table and another right next to us. While the staff responded quickly and cleaned everything up, some wine did splash onto my shoes, and it made for a stressful and disruptive experience. After such a chaotic and rowdy dinner, that was the last straw, and we decided to leave. I want to emphasize that I've had many positive visits here, which is why this particular experience stood out so much. Jame is still good.... but a little less special now. They expanded and it does feel like a date factory now. So many tables. Food comes out a little too fast... like a factory.. The huge salads that were so fun and impressive are little mounds now. Let's be honest the pasta could be 2 more ounces. But at least that's still the same. And it's still incredible. Very busy on a Friday night! But thankfully, they are located in a small plaza that has a parking lot. It wasn't too difficult to find street parking as well. My friend and I had a reservation and were seated outside on their patio, which wasn't cold thankfully. The waitress gave us a rundown of the specials and offered some helpful menu suggestions. I ended up going with the spicy rigatoni with added sausage. It tasted great! For dessert, I had to go with the warm bread pudding, which is seen some great pictures of in other Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. It was a massive slice. Personally, the giant dollop of whipped cream on top was too much for me (I originally thought it was ice cream from the pictures), but the bread pudding was lovely. A charming modern Italian restraunt with varied seating from quiet, bar, outdoor searing, etc. Friendly staff and service with decent selection and variation of food. We had the non alcoholic drinks stormy something and cucumber something. Both delightful and refreshing. Appetizers we had the deep fried provolone which were like cheese curds and vodka sauce. 8.3/10. The chopped salad was light and had variety of layers. 8.5/10. Roasted Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious but nothing extraordinary. 8.6/10. Branzino was a delicious and fried well but was lacking something... like anything. For 42 dollars maybe some vegetables or a potato. Shrug. It was just so lonely. 8.9/10. Squid ink pasta had an interesting texture. That lacked that bite. Probably from the ink. Not sure if the red sauce was the best combo with it as it was a bit mush with the acidity. 7.5/10. The chef special was the pea pasta and actually quite delightful with small pockets of joy squeezing out like a soup dumpling. 9.0/10. Lemon pie: light and true to taste: 9.0/10. Update: Last time I was here was right after the pandemic where we we seated outdoors. My perception of the size of this place is incorrect or they've expanded?! It's the place to be on a Saturday night. My friend had gotten there early and pre-ordered us the cutest mini Espresso Martinis. Great start! We then ordered our cocktails. I do have to say we were shocked at how dimunitive our "regular" cocktails were considering we just had mini martinis. We ordered "family style" aka girl dinner the following: Starting with the bread with olives and Almonds, of course the amazing Kale Salad with the perfect dressing, Wanderer Ribeye done medium with yummy Chimichurri and the Mandilli with Almond pine nut pesto. I love almonds! All of it was delicious. I would definitely come back to try more on the menu. The ambiance inside and on the heated patio is nice. I think it's fun for a group of four or a date place. Expect to walk just a little bit after parking on the street. 12/10/2025 Been a long while since I was last here! Was craving the Scarpinocc, so had to drive all the way here to eat this! There were so many people today for lunch! I was there to pickup on a Wednesday at 1:00pm. It was a packed house! Except for their one room for events, the whole place was packed both indoors and outdoors! Was so glad to have gotten takeout that day. ORDER Ordered online for pickup. I wanted the Scarpinocc, which is only available for dinner at Jame to eat at the restaurant, although not offered for lunch. Strangely, Scarpinocc it is available for takeout only for lunch. So decided to do takeout. Scarpinocc - Love the brown butter with balsamic vinegar reduction sauce to bring out that buttery flavor and that vinegar flavor from the balsamic that adds dimension. A good amount of parmesan cheese, so it added another nutty flavor to it as well. The meat filling did seem slightly different than the last time I ate this. It was a lot more shredded, almost to the point where it looked ground up. However, everything was delicious and pasta was cooked well! I've had their Scarpinocc at their restaurant and it is a sizeable amount of food, so doing takeout means it will be a smaller amount of food, since their takeout boxes are smaller. So you do sacrifice getting less than what you've paid for. Very satisfied with this dish inspite of it being takeout. Ospi's Crispy Provolone - This was a lot more crunchier than expected! Like double-fried crunchiness! I think some people might appreciate that, but I thought it was too crunchy. The gooey provolone cheese was delightful and loved that sweet cheese flavor and that cheese pull! The vodka sauce was a perfect pairing. Nutella Mascarpone Cake - This has been a favorite ever since its debut! Love that balance of creamy mascarpone and Nutella chocolate mousse. The texture is more like cheesecake. I could be wrong, but I think there's a layer of dark caramel on top of the Nutella chocolate mousse or in the mousse. I can taste caramel in it. That chocolate shortbread crust is so good too! Buttery, chocolate shortbread crust! Not sure why it's called cake and not pie, but love, love, love this dessert! Vodka Sauce (16oz) - Decided to purchase a jar to make my own pasta at home. It tastes exactly like the sauce from the restaurant. Recommend purchasing if you love their vodka sauce! CUSTOMER SERVICE I was stuck in traffic and running late for the pickup, so I called to postpone the pickup time. The host was friendly and made sure that everything was done accordingly. When I got there, the same host greeted me and made sure everything was packed and ready to go. Great service all around! PARKING This mini strip mall always has parking issues. It is jam-packed and very difficult to find parking! There is additional parking at the parking structure, but I luckily found a quick parking spot for pickup. We used to love this place and it was one of our go-to Italian spots, so it's a bit disappointing to write this. On a positive note, our server Luis was amazing -- super attentive, friendly, and really made the experience enjoyable. That said, the food just didn't hit the way it used to. Everything looked great, but the flavors felt a bit flat and lacked the depth we remember from past visits. We've been coming here for a while, so it was noticeable. The spot is like the ultimate girls meet up. I came here with a group of my girlfriends and had a blast. I also noticed that there were at least three other groups that night with girls all catching up. The restaurant had really nice vibe and looked simple and clean. We sat outdoors and there were heat lamps so we weren't cold. The fried cheese tasted really good with the sauce. It was crispy and the cheese pull was thick and stretchy. Our server was amazing, very attentive, and he gave us great recommendations. He also gave us complementary bubbly, and even gave a mocktail sample to my friend who wasn't drinking. The pasta was amazing. Had just the right amount of protein and wasn't salty. Really liked the sauce and the pasta tasted fresh. Jame Enoteca is very, very good. Chef Kalb also owns Jame Taqueria (also in El Segundo), Jemma (Hollywood), and Ospi (Brentwood and Venice). Except for Jame Taqueria, all are Italian restaurants. Jame Enoteca is well known for its large Kale Salad and Spicy Rigatoni. Food: Ordered the Beef Tartare and Charred Octopus as appetizers, and Scarpinocc and Spicy Rigatoni as pasta entrees. The Beef Tartare was fine, but too light for my taste. To me, beef tartare should be "beefy." Here, the tartare was very fresh and mixed with shallots, marjoram, and crispy potato bits, served with a tonnato sauce (a creamy Italian sauce made primarily from tuna and mayonnaise) and toast. Because it was light and with the tonnato sauce, it could easily have been mistaken for a tuna tartare. In turn, the Charred Octopus was served with fingerling potatoes, and hints at a Thai flavor. It was okay, but some of the octopus seemed too soft and some seemed to be on the verge of being rubbery, rather than tender yet firm. The accompanying potatoes were underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but I also wouldn't order it again. The Scarpinocc (stuffed pasta in the shape of a slipper, think a rectangular ravioli) was good, stuffed with braised beef cheek and served in a brown butter sauce. It was nice and hot, and very rich. This is the type of dish that you want on a cold winter night. The Spicy Riganoti remains my favorite dish at Jame Enoteca. It is served in a very good and slightly spicy vodka sauce, and the rigatoni itself was perfectly cooked, al dente with just a slight amount of chewiness. Service: Service was very good and attentive. Seating: The restaurant seemingly has three parts: the bar along with the seating across from the bar and to the right of the entrance, a room to the left of the bar area described above, and outdoor seating. The bar and adjacent seating has more of a diner feel and can get noisy as the sound seems to reverberate in this area, while the room to the left has a warmer, cozier look. The outdoor seating is fine, but it's worth remembering that Jame Enoteca is in a strip mall. Bottom Line: Jame Enoteca is a lively restaurant in El Segundo with very, very good Italian food. read more

Then there's the food. It was a mixed bag! I ordered the squid ink pasta. The portions were ok. I was satisfied by the size of it. The pasta met my expectations perfectly, the sauce was rich, and tasty. My other three companions were not so thrilled...one ordered the special of the night, pork pork pork something. It was a little underwhelming, that was all I can remember of her comments. The other two were, well...they agreed that "meh" was appropriate. Also, there was no bread to sop up sauces from your plate, or cheese to be sprinkled on the dish, or even cracked pepper? Maybe we should have asked? Herein lies my conundrum. Should my overall rating be based solely on the experience of my party as a whole? If so, then, 4 stars...sadly brought down by the non-unanimous decision that the food was 3 or 3.5 at best. I can't believe a spot this good is tucked away in El Segundo! Was in town visiting friends who live in the neighborhood, and they suggested Jame for dinner. While I know LA has some seriously good Italian food, I was skeptical as I'm also spoiled in NYC. Jame very quickly proved me wrong. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Thursday and the place was poppin! Definitely still some tables available but I was majorly impressed they were able to pull that big a crowd, so make sure to make a reservation. For food we shared: - Beef tartare: yummmm, they gave a hefty amount of tartare and 4 slices of their bread. A very solid start. - Ceasar salad: I would say this didn't blow me away, but it was a good salad and sometimes that's all you need. - Crispy provolone: Their take on a mozzerrella stick, this was so good-- make sure you eat it hot so you get that melty cheese pull. - Scarpinocc: My favorite!!! I love when there's a great filled pasta, and this delivered. The braised beef cheek was fantastic and stuffed in the pasta pillow was a perfect bite. - Spicy rigatoni: An excellent rendition of a spicy rig. If you like the dish, you'll like this dish. - Pork shank: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. If you're on the fence about a main vs more pastas, get it. It's worth it. - Lemon tart: Perfect way to end the meal, my friends recommended and they were right. Drinks wise, I got the Nancy Silverton which is a martini (it's fun how all the cocktails are named after LA chefs) and hit the spot. Jame Enoteca, located in a strip mall in charming downtown El Segundo. I was surprised by the cool cozy vibe that this place has. We were seated in the patio on a cold evening, but the heaters kept us very comfortable. We ordered a starter, a salad, three entrees and two desserts and shared them family style between four of us. The Meatball starter was savory and fresh, the kale salad was fresh and delicious, the Spicy Rigatoni had a nice spicy bite to it, the Scarpinocc stuffed with beef cheek was savory yet the brown butter and sage gave it a slight sweetness, and the Chicken Parmesan was moist and tender inside with a nice crisp parmesan on the exterior. I've been to Ospi many times and knew what I was signing up for. Ospi is good but I still think there's places that are a tad better. I like Jame's menu a lot better than Ospi's and was pleasantly surprised by some dishes. However, I am taking a stat off for what I can only describe as some of the worst lighting for a restaurant. Inside really ruins the experience and we had to move to the outside which was better but wasn't really impressive. I think they really need to remodel or change the inside so it's more welcoming. I know it would've ruined the meal. As for the food everything was good. I was not expecting the spicy rigatoni to be as spicy as it was but it was good. I did like the beef cheek pasta which was a nice change from most pastas. We ended the night with the cinnamon bun bread pudding with ice cream. I would definitely come back just for that. We had a red eye flight our of LAX and were looking for a convenient place to grab dinner before. I saw multiple recommendations for Jame Enoteca, so we stopped in. It's super convenient with ample amounts of parking and just a short drive to the airport. We waited about 15 minutes for a table without a reservation. We had the Kale Salad which was so fresh and delicious! We also had the rigatoni and capellini, both pastas had a bright fresh sauce and were perfectly al dente. The Meyer Lemon Pie was tart and worth saving room for. The service was also on-point. I would definitely stop by here again on my next trip our of LAX. read more

Found this little cute little Italian spot in a shopping center next to a sushi and other food. The staff is nice They have good specials a salad choice of pasta and the option to add wine. Both pastas were good the spicy pork sausage if you want a meat option its not that spicy so you can still tolerate it if you don't like spice and the spicy vodka pasta was good as well. We sat outside in a nice little patio. We all three ordered beverages, and the two of us ordered the same beverages, one didn't come for like 10 minutes after the first one. I would not recommend the lemonade, as it is very tart. I ordered the mushroom lasagna and asked if I could have an aside of vodka sauce because I have to eat wet food otherwise I get sick. The server said no issues. When the meal came I got a small 2 ounce ramekin of sauce. I asked if I could have four more as I ordered a side of sauce. She said I can only give you one more. It was very frustrating because I made it a point when I ordered that I needed to have something with a lot of sauce, even if it was extra sauce on the side. They brought out two additional 2 ounce ramekins of sauce. It wasn't enough to eat the dinner with and it was rather frustrating that they couldn't meet my dietary restrictions. I've been to Jemma in Hollywood by the same chef/proprietor and this restaurant is definitely better in service and in food. CIABATTA PLATE - umami butter, local olive oil, marinated olives, rosemary almonds - I could and would slather that umami butter on ANYTHING. We indulged and ordered a second helping because it was so good! CHARRED OCTOPUS - fingerling potato, shallot confit, herbs, chili - this was cooked perfectly, very soft and tender. We even got someone that doesn't like seafood to try it AND like it! KALE salad - avocado, parm, cilantro, sweet & spicy almond vinaigrette - great vinaigrette and kale prep was good, no overly rough pieces in the chew. WANDERER FARMS RIBEYE - potato puree, salmoriglio, port agrodolce - mmmm, good char, cooked perfectly. A fair amount of fat, a great piece of meat. SCARPINOCC- braised beef cheek filling, very brown butter, sage saba - very brown butter is very good. PACCHERI LISCI - spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage, pecorino - this was my favorite of the evening. Great balance of flavors. TAGLIATELLE AL RAGU - "hollywood" style bolognese - this was my least favorite but that's maybe because everything else was SO GOOD. The parking is tough if you come during peak hours. Went for lunch. And let me tell you that I'm mad... at myself. I was looking for a pseudo Jon & Vinny's kind of place closer to me in South Bay. Turns out this place has been around forever and is absolutely killing it. Went for lunch on my way to LAX and had pasta and salad. We also got a bread plate and I can't tell you anything about it because we ate it so fast. The butter was divine. The pasta I had did have pork in it, but apparently I didn't really read the rest of the description because I was hoping to get a different pasta that had seen an online. Fortunately, for me, the pasta that hit the table was still perfect. The perfect portion, the perfect spice level, this is an extraordinary place. Lets start with the noise level - We went on a Friday at 6:45 and the noise level inside was absolutely deafening, so we ate outside which consisted of basically a table in the parking lot, under an overhang - The noise level was still intolerable and the Boom Boom screeching music made us physically uncomfortable. We could not even hear our waiter - when we could find him. The Menu is minimal - I decided on Chicken Parmigiana, the waiter informed us it does not come with pasta?? I never heard of any Italian restaurant not serving pasta with the main entre like Chicken Parm? So I decided on Lasagna - The waiter informed us the Lasagna was meatless. I am not a vegetarian, I can not imagine what a meatless Lasagna could possibly taste like, So No thanks. I went with one of the simple Pasta dishes they had, which seemed serviceable except that the portions were miserably small. We had to cook when we got home. I dont make a habit of going out to eat and spending the money this place charges - to come home hungry. Of course - what is an Italian meal without a red table wine or simple Chianti. Forget about that at this place! A glass of wine costs almost as much as the main entre. What are they thinking! Bottom line: Your looking at $60 for a single plate of pasta and one glass of wine. It's Dine LA week and my choice was this neighborhood gem. I arrived on Friday evening, I forgot to make a reservation and I was seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was very busy. Ordered the Kale Salad - excellent! Spicy rigatoni and Chicken Parmigiana - largest portion and prepared perfectly!! We ate outside in the breezeway which was nice and cool. The staff was nice and friendly throughout our visit. The meatball was tasty - crispy and caramelized on the outside, fatty and flavorful on the inside. We loved the Brussels sprouts too - balanced with a hint of spice. The paccheri came loaded with meat and spice, just how we like it, with a rich tomato flavor. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe was creamy, peppery, and delicious. The chicken parm sandwich with vodka sauce was tasty, though we needed extra sauce and asked for it. It took a while to get sauce, so we took it to go. Cozy vibe inside and they also have tables outside. Made a reservation just to make sure we get seated right away. Ordered 2 pastas (tonnarelli and mushroom lasagna which is not included in the photo) made to order and came out al dente. The ribeye steak was also good that also came with potato puree with salmoriglio which we thought was chimichurri. Difference is salmoriglio is italian then chimichurri is argentinian. Asked for medium rare, came out as medium rare. Just to add, not sure what song playlist they were playing but we loved it. Definitely coming back! read more

Had a great meal here! I loved the pre-set (Jackson's favorites) menu for $26/per person. I thought it was a great deal! My husband and I both did the deal and ordered 4 different things -- small spicy caesar salad, crispy brussels sprouts, spicy rigatoni, and paccheri rigati. The food was GREAT! Seasoned to perfection and flavorful. I really enjoyed my spicy caesar salad. I loved the bright and acidic dressing (with that pop of heat) and the crunchy breadcrumbs. An addictive salad! The brussels sprouts were also tasty. The flavor of the brussels sprouts was perfect! I did think the brussels sprouts were a bit too roasted as there was too much of a burned flavor to me (and the brussels sprouts were mostly black). Now for the pasta!! The paccheri rigati was pretty good! Pasta was cooked well and the sauce was nice and savory. BUT THE SPICY RIGATONI WAS PERFECTION! Loved the bite of the pasta and the beautifully silky sauce. I could not stop eating it. So simple but the flavors were spot on. Would absolutely order again! Service was great and the restaurant had a great aesthetic. I also ordered the Jeremy Fox cocktail and it came in the cutest hawaiian cup with an umbrella. Walked in with no reservations. Didn't realize it was such a popular spot and the wait was about 45 minutes. A bit excessive as we don't like to wait. Anyhow, kept our eye on the bar seating and within less than 10 minutes two spots opened up. We had the honor to be served by "Artemio"! He shared some of his favorites on the menu and we took his recommendations; including a cucumber margarita! Delicious. We ordered the kale salad, fried mozzarella pasta with pork sausage and the pasta with vodka sausage. Everything was delicious and all items were served hot in a timely manner! Artemio was definitely the cherry on the top! Super personable and readily available to make super recommendations!! Will definitely add to our list of favorites!! [ Food ] I ordered the Squid Ink Bavette and thought the sauce was good; the shrimps were on the smaller size and the pasta was not al dente as expected, the texture was more like egg noodles and not chewy like normal pastas. I tried the pork shank too and it was good; I liked how soft the meat was but it was a bit on the saltier side. [ Service ] Customer service was nice, our server was attentive. I have dined in this strip mall but had never experienced Jame Enoteca. A dear friend treated me for my birthday. Lots of dining choices in this small area with a shared parking lot. We got lucky!!! Jane Enoteca has expanded to a new dining room, coupled with a full bar, two other indoor dining rooms as well as a covered outdoor dining area. We started with a mocktail, Light & Stormy. Lemon, ginger, markut lime & mint. Refreshing. For an appetizer, we were eyeing the Brussels sprouts BUT we ordered the Charred Octopus - fingerling potato's, shallot confit, herbs, chili. It was very good but it only had 3 big pieces of octopus and mainly fried potatoes. For our entree, we both ordered Spring Pea Agnolotti - similar to a spring pea ravioli, delta asparagus, melting leeks and vecchhio cheese. It was soooo good, my eyes were rolling to the back of head!! As a birthday treat, we got my choice with a candle on top! Bread Pudding with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. The Baseline: For an Italian sit down restaurant the food must use of prime Italian ingredients (garlic, tomatoes, cheese, basil), preparation of sauces and al dente pasta, the meal portion size must leave me feeling full, and the service needs me feeling like I am part of the family. Food: Great pasta and sauces on the offerings at Jame Enoteca. Highlights: Tagliatelle al Ragu is a go-to default if you cannot decide (my personal favorite). The sauce is to boast and flavorful. The Ricotta Cavatelli is very good with a good savory, spicy to the sausage. Drinks are stiff and flavorful. The kale salad was also great an may become a new go-to starter which is saying something because... salad. Service: I had good service when I was here. Water glass was kept full and the wait staff came around regularly. It was busy the night we came so the staff maintained a good level of service even with the high volume. Ambiance: This night we dined in the new Library seating section which can be a bit loud with competing conversations. The restrooms were clean and serviced.
