My friend and I came to this super cute restaurant for dinner. We did family style and ordered the Spicy Whipped Feta with Focaccia, Spiced Lamb Meatballs, Sungold Tomato & Watermelon Salad, Peruvian Scallop Crudo and Spaghetti Al Limone Di Sorrento. They had some incredible items and some items I wouldn't need to get next time. The whipped feta and pasta salad were incredible. Flavors were just delicious. Both the scallop and watermelon salad were unique. I'm usually obsessed with watermelon salad and while I still enjoyed this one, I've definitely had much better ones. This is probably my favorite restaurant in South Bay. Their menu features an American take on Mediterranean food with a delicious selection of spreads and breads, mezze, pastas, skewers, and large mains. We decided to get the roasted spiced eggplant which is served atop charred red bell peppers and onions, black garlic, and pine nuts. Choosing the rosemary smoked salt focaccia (over the buttermilk pita) was a no-brainer for us and a dish we would have paid for individually in its own right. We completely forgot about getting veggies until I saw the table next to us order the roasted Brussels sprouts. To our surprise, it was elevated by being served with a sherry and date puree, brown butter fennel vinaigrette, and a hill of parmesan -- absolutely mind blown (we still dream about this dish and recreating it). We skiped the large mains since we were only a party of two and instead opted for the beef tenderloin that was juicy and served wih a quinoa tabbouli, toum (creamy garlic sauce), and your choice of another sauce (we chose zhoug). Overall, Attagirl elevates familiar offerings by unique and thoughtful accompaniments. There wasn't a single dish we tried that we didn't like. Big fan of this spot in Hermosa beach area! The space is cozy and non intimidating and the service is fantastic! Come for focaccia!! They have multiple dips to choose from- the eggplant was very flavorful and yummy but the focaccia is the true star, so light and fluffy with crispy edges. Lamb meatballs were also soft and so savory without being gamey. The Brussel sprouts are excellent, lots of freshly grated parm and a slightly sweet sauce on the bottom make for a perfect bite every time. Beef tenderloin skewer was cooked nicely, meat wasn't too tough and the sauces paired well with it. The place has a fun, energetic vibe without feeling over the top. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaging. You can tell they enjoy what they're doing. We shared several dishes, and everything was excellent. The Spicy Whipped Feta with rosemary smoked salt focaccia is an absolute must order. The focaccia alone is worth coming back for. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts with date purée, brown butter, fennel vinaigrette, and parmesan were outstanding, and even the Atta Girl Fries with dill vinegar and mustard aioli disappeared quickly. We also ordered the shrimp, scallop, and beef skewers, all served over a bed of quinoa tabbouleh. Every skewer was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and complemented beautifully by the fresh, herbaceous tabbouleh. Great cocktails, delicious food, and a staff that made the evening even more enjoyable. We both walked in a little after 10AM on Saturday. The gentleman asked us where we wanted to sit. He walked us to the main dining area, and I chose the first booth on the right. Perfect table. We ordered cocktails first. I ordered the Surfside. Pretty, delicious, and refreshing! The sliver of cucumber and yellow flower strategically placed. We ordered the spicy hummus and rosemary focaccia to start. Our waiter, Samson, also brought us an appetizer. Both were absolutely scrumptious. All the bread is homemade in the restaurant. The focaccia bread was soft and moist. Perfectly paired with the hummus. The appetizer was a light, flaky crust around cheese. My girlfriend had to order another one to go. For brunch, I ordered the Atta Girl Breakfast, which includes eggs, potatoes, 2 pieces of fried cheese, a pita, and small side of yogurt, sliced cucumber, grape tomatoes, and dill. So good. It's a modern take on Mediterranean food. Afterwards, we ordered the donut (holes) for dessert, which was also delicious. Fresh. Samson added a lighted candle in it for the birthday girl. On a work trip I decided to spend time with my sisters for one of their birthdays and she chose this place. Friendly welcome and very nice fresh ambiance. I ordered one of their mojitos with cucumber and it was delicious. We started with hummus and pita as well as another type of charred cucumber dip, both made in house as well as the naan bread; yummy! We all ordered sandwiches and each one was fabulous, but what lingered for me was the Atta Girl salad. In fact, I woke up dreaming about it! We hit AttaGirl LA during Dine LA, but decided to pass on the $55-per-person prix-fixe menu and instead lean on the expertise of our dinner companions, who are somewhat regulars. You nailed it, Jennifer. We were greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess and seated in a back corner, a wise move, as our group tends to get a little loud...and we did. LOL. AttaGirl describes itself as Coastal Mediterranean, which is right up my alley. The décor fits the concept beautifully: stylish but relaxed, with blush, sea-green and earthy tones, woven pendant lighting and a polished beachy-Mediterranean feel. It has a definite energy to it without feeling like your typical Hermosa beach-bar scene. We started with some scratch cocktails. They didn't have blue-cheese olives, a minor tragedy for my filthy Ketel One martini, but the martini itself was delicious, and everyone seemed very happy with round one. From there we transitioned to a bottle of vino, compliments of Italy, and the night appropriately skyrocketed. The real highlight, though, was the food. We started with the Chef's Plate, a spread of four house dips accompanied by fresh bread. Everything arrived warm and fresh, and the different spreads and accompaniments were fantastic. Other diners consistently single out the spreads, hummus and house breads as some of AttaGirl's strongest dishes, and I can see why. For our entrées, we essentially attacked the skewer section of the menu (see my picture) mushroom, wild Mexican white shrimp, beef tenderloin and fish, served on a bed of green couscous, and an assortment of flavorful sauces. The live white-oak grill gives the skewers a terrific char and smokiness, particularly the mushrooms and beef. Food across the board: EXCELLENT. Solid 'A' grade. Our evening was overseen by Savannah P., who was on the spot throughout the night and made sure we were well taken care of. All in all, a very fun Tuesday night out, great food, great drinks, great company and exactly the kind of lively atmosphere that works for a group. Parking is the usual Hermosa situation: depending on the day and time, you'll find metered street parking and nearby public lots, but I'd allow yourself a few extra minutes, particularly on a busier night. One of the beach cities' best spots for lunch. Great dips like the Classic Hummus and Roasted Spiced Eggplant are amazing on their signature buttermilk pita. It's like eating a delicious pillow. There's no such thing as too much for that pita so get the Grilled Lamb + Beef Kofta. I've never had a meatball melt in my mouth like this. Wild Mexican White Shrimp on stick are also a solid choice. First, I'm giving an A+ for their seat-yourself arrangement that they've mastered with a combination of numerous attentive servers AND a QR code ordering option. This staff works as a true team, which I find really cool. Everyone who works here maintained a very relaxed and pleasant attitude despite the big lunch rush. A+ for their menu as well. I could've closed my eyes and picked anything at random, and I would've been happy with it. They've got lots to choose from without being overwhelming. We chose to share the Loaded Streetcart Fries, the Spicy Whipped Feta, the Hen of the Woods Mushroom Skewer Platter, and some NA beers to drink. Every dish was a generous portion of perfectly balanced ingredients and flavors--tangy, bright, spicy, zesty, sweet, savory, salty, fatty, comfort, refreshing. Nothing fell flat. Every bite hit, and damn did we eat every bite. For dessert we had the Basque Cheesecake, the Chocolate Torte, and the Donuts. No notes. None. The chefs at Atta Girl know how to throw down. Coriander in coffee ice cream on a brown butter carameled chocolate torte?! GTFO I was already in love with you guys but then you had to go extra. That orange marmalade moat surrounding your cheesecake? Call me Paddington. The lemon drizzled donuts with peach glaze served in a cute lil pink box? Stahhhp. Usually a big meal with lots of items leaves us with a clear winner, or at least a standout, but neither of us could even begin to rank what we ordered. Everything was unique and high quality and delightful to eat. This cute little beachy vibe spot just went ahead and made itself my favorite restaurant in Hermosa. If Atta Girl handed me a yearbook to sign, I'd scrawl "DON'T EVER CHANGE" in permanent marker. Atta Girl is a gem and we are lucky to have her. An amazing dining experience over three courses. My dining companion and I had dinner at this restaurant, that I found on tik tok. We were in for a pleasant surprise. The food - incredible, with the exception of the octopus. Great flavor, but too salty. Savannah was our server and she was very sweet and took great care of our table. We ordered the following: General Sesame - I'm super into gin lately and I love sesame, so this was a no-brainer. I thought it was phenomenal. It was soft, creamy, and packed with warm spices. Roasting gave it a slightly smoky sweetness that made the dip rich and flavorful. Roasted Golden Beets - I'm usually not a fan of red beets, but golden beets are typically my go-to. These were colorful and beautifully plated. The roasting brought out their natural sweetness and they had a tender texture with bright flavors that made the dish both visually appealing and delicious. Wild Mexican White Shrimp Skewer - Perfectly grilled with a light char that brought out their natural sweetness. They were served over a bed of quinoa tabouli, which added a bright, herby freshness with notes of parsley and citrus that paired really well with the shrimp. The dish also came with two dipping sauces on the side. RR Ranch Beef Tenderloin Skewer - My bf ordered this and said it was tender, juicy, and nicely charred from the grill. Basque Cheesecake - We're currently on a Basque cheesecake kick since we're getting ready for our Spain trip and San Sebastian is on our itinerary. Savannah hyped it up so much that we ended up ordering it. It really was the perfect way to end the meal. It had that signature caramelized top with lightly burnt edges that give Basque cheesecake its depth of flavor. The inside was creamy and custardy rich but not overly sweet with a smooth, melt in your mouth texture. We thanked Savannah for recommending it and she told us that one of her regulars is from San Sebastian and even gave their cheesecake an 8/10 rating, saying it tastes pretty close to the real thing! Collogues and I decided on Atta Girl for our Annual post-Holiday dinner, so naturally my boss made the reservation. When we arrived, it was SLAMMED, but oddly enough, there was zero wait time: impressive! It was busy, slightly loud between conversations, service and music, I did have to raise my voice a little to speak and lean-in a little to listen, but when I say - the vibe and the food was worth it (enter Italian delicious kiss motion here)! We started with the Chef's plate to share; there was four of us. Best bread and sauces I have had. Eggplant dip with fried mushrooms to top, roasted red pepper, Zhoug sauce (perfect amount of heat), garlic dip (mix this and the Zhoug together, you will not be upset about it) and of course hummus. For dinner we did the family style spread. Braised short ribs, a variety of skewers; for the sides we shared Broccolini and the loaded gyro fries. It was the perfect amount delicious of food, and we even saved room for dessert. When I said I was saving room for the Basque cheesecake, my other three counterparts lifted their eyebrows and asked, "what is that"?!.. Believe my surprise when I realized they not only never tried it, but they had never heard of it. None the less, it was a hit! I just may come back next time I am back down in the SoCal beach town. First, the ambiance is beautiful - lots of live plants and it was decorated so cute for Christmas. The bartenders and server Kristy were all so helpful and friendly. Attagirl is a "casual upscale" restaurant/bar. The food menu has a strong Mediterranean influence. They have a good happy hour m-f from 3-5pm with a good reasonably priced menu. Their $9 "Spicy Margarita" was a bit tart for my palate so the bartender gladly made the next one sweeter. It was delicious! The $12 shawarma spiced chicken was so good the we ordered a second serving. Service was attentive and prompt. We will surely visit again. read more

Omg my new favorite restaurant I've tried this year! I absolutely looove their Goddess cocktail and hummus platter. I've gone here twice now and it always feels like it's my birthday when I'm here because the place is so cute & the food is so delicious. I highly recommend the humus platter, beet salad, and beef kabob. We also tried their chicken but I thought it was way too salty... I did not like the sauce it was simmered in. Maybe stick to beef/lamb here! The music is a bit too loud but ambiance is so elevated and chic for a cute dinner date! read more

There was only ONE bad thing I can say about this place.... It was so loud that I ordered food and we didn't get it. I really wanted to try a few items. We did receive our drinks. Our server was very nice. But I could tell after a while that he could not hear anything that anyone was saying. The establishment is very clean. Very nice inside. The staff were nice. All smiles from all staff. The restrooms are clean. Pay for parking everywhere. The prices for everything are comparable to everything around. We will be back to try the food. read more

Loved the food and the drinks! Portions could have been a little bit more for the skewer (lunch or dinner). It was delicious but I was hungry a few hours later and I'm a small framed person. For the price point of the meal it could've been a bit more substantial. The scallops appetizers are a must if you go here. I'll be back for the drinks and appetizers next time. read more
