I had heard so many good things about this restaurant and two items in particular. I stopped in for their incredible Greek Salad (minus the onions) and the Salmon Pesto Panini. Oh my gosh!!! It's been a while since I last dined here. Called in for a confirmed reservation and, when we arrived, the staff acted a bit oblivious. The hostess directed us to a table - a DIRTY table. So we moved over and sat between TWO dirty tables. While waiting to order, another family arrived and were greeted with, "We have your reserved table for you" and they were seated. Seemed like a mediocre start to a meal. I asked about the owner, Hamid, and was told by the waiter, Farad, "He's probably around someplace." Quite frankly, it's Hamid's patience and kindness that has always attracted me to Turquoise. I came to celebrate my birthday month. I started with the Organic Green Field Salad (the tables on both sides of us were still filthy and remained that way almost through our entire meal). The salad great organic seasoning, it was larger than I expected and well presented. Our main courses were the Chilean Sea Bass (for me) and the Koubigeh Beef Kabob (for my guest). Both were delivered by Hamid who seems to have appeared out of nowhere. It was great seeing him and experiencing his warm greeting and kind birthday wishes. Of course the tables on both sides of us were still filthy. The Sea Bass was wonderful. Perfectly prepared and presented, one of the best Sea Bass mains courses I've had in many years. Utterly full of rich flavor and texture. My guest loved the beef kabob. I've had the lamb kabob in the past, here, and it's one of my favorite dishes. I'm in love with Turquoise! I went there last night with a friend. We sat outside. So fun to people watch. It's in Riviera Village and great location, the food was amazing! We stopped by on a Friday night and we're lucky that, due to the rain, it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. We were just outside the front door but the space heater was just enough to make us comfortable throughout our meal. My husband has a nut and sesame allergy so we were a bit limited in regards to the Appetizers but we ordered the Spinach Dip made with homemade organic yogurt, spinach and shallots and it came with some Lavash bread and some cucumber and carrots. It was very refreshing and a perfect start of the meal. Their was four of us. Two of us ordered the Koubedeh Kabob plates, one got the Lamb Kabob and one got the Ahi Tuna Sandwich. All of the entrees were very tasty and a perfect serving size. The only complaint is that the brocoli, which was one of a few diffrent veggie sides, were a bit undercooked but otherwise the rest of the veggies were fabulous and the rice (which we found out was unlimited) was perfectly cooked. This is the best middle eastern food I've had in a long time. Turquoise was recommended to me by a dear friend and I'm so glad I went there. The way the food is cooked is just so authentic and they also use high quality ingredients (grass fed beef and all the vegetables are organic). You can tell how all the food is very high quality. There's metered parking all around ($1.50/hr) the restaurant is located at the corner so you can't miss it :) I ordered the fresh wild salmon with Mediterranean salsa ($33.50) and our table also got baba ghanoush and hummus and it came w thin flat breads. The salmon was flavorful and came with roasted vegetables. First time trying baba ghanoush, not a big fan but it came w this spicy sauce on the side and that goes really well with the hummus. I couldn't stop eating it and it went really well with the roasted vegetables. The spicy sauce by itself burns but mixed w the hummus and it was perfect. The persian food was really delicious. We had a sea bass , which had an amazing taste and the sauce was very unique. We also tried the beef kabob, which was soft and tasty l. What always kept us coming back wasn't just the tasty food but the warm hospitality, especially from the owner, who consistently made guests feel valued. Unfortunately, our most recent experience left us questioning our loyalty. It all started around 5:10 PM when my mom called about seating for our party of eight, which included my parents and their five grandchildren. She spoke with Leo, who checked with a young man named Farkhad--about availability. After some back-and-forth, Leo confirmed that if we arrived by 5:30-5:35 PM, we'd have an indoor table. My mom thanked him, and we headed over. We arrived right on time, only to be told by a young hostess--who's always been courteous--that they only had outdoor seating. Confused, I mentioned our conversation with Leo. She apologized but stood firm that there was no room inside. That's when Farkhad stepped in, aggressively snapping, "There's NO ROOM inside!" My mom calmly reminded him of what Leo had said, but instead of listening, he yelled in front of the entire restaurant, including my parents and their grandchildren: "He told you there was NO ROOM!" His tone was hostile and completely uncalled for. I immediately asked him not to yell at my mom, but he defensively claimed, "That's just how I talk," while continuing to argue and escalate the situation. Things got even worse when Farkhad stepped toward my mom, invading her personal space until he was inches from her face. With a condescending smirk, he threw out a sarcastic "I'm sorry if you felt I yelled." This wasn't a misunderstanding--it was blatant disrespect. I firmly told him to back up and give her space, to which he arrogantly responded, "I was just apologizing." I made it clear: "You can apologize from over there. Back up." By this point, my mom--who's in her 60s--was visibly upset, and my family, including her grandchildren, stood there shocked and embarrassed. We left, completely disheartened. Hoping to address the situation calmly, my dad and I returned around 7:20 PM to speak with the owner. We saw him in the patio area and politely asked if he had a moment. He acknowledged us, said he'd be back after helping with something, and...never returned. We stood outside for over 15 minutes while he continued assisting other guests, passing us multiple times without so much as a follow-up. A simple "I'm busy right now, but let's connect later" would've sufficed. Instead, we were left standing there, ignored and disappointed. What made it worse? Farkhad was on the patio, acting perfectly polite and professional with other guests, clearly covering his tracks. He knew what he'd done and was putting on a show. This entire experience was more than just poor service--it was humiliating and unacceptable. Farkhad aggressive behavior toward my mom, especially in front of her grandchildren, was appalling. His "apology," dripping with attitude, only made it worse. This isn't just about one bad employee; it's about a breakdown in communication and care. The owner, usually so attentive, completely dropped the ball when we sought resolution. After 15 years of loyalty, I'm heartbroken to write this. After a hike along the beach we decided on coming here for lunch. Hameed introduced himself when we were perusing the menu and walked through some of the highlights including the ingredients and how the meats are prepared. He suggested that we try the hummus, spinach dip, baba ghanoush, chicken and lamb. We ordered all of them and they were incredible!
