I'm so happy Urbane Cafe has another location in the South Bay! The first time I checked out Urbane Cafe was at their Palos Verdes location, and now that they have a location in Redondo Beach, I can see myself coming here more often since it is much closer to me. This Urbane Cafe is located at the same plaza as Whole Foods Redondo Beach. There's plenty of parking, making it easy to stop by and grab a meal. For my first visit, I got their Sweet Chili Crunch Chicken sandwich along with a cup of Baja Enchilada soup. I am a huge fan of their fresh baked bread and so I really liked my sandwich. The bread was spot on and so soft and fresh. It was a perfect complement to the flavorful chicken. I loved the sweet and savory flavors of the chicken that was enhanced with the crunchy slaw. The Baja Enchilada soup paired perfectly with sandwich. It had a nice slightly spicy kick that added even more flavor to the meal. Overall, I am so happy to have an Urbane Cafe nearby. I'll definitely be back for more sandwiches! read more

Nice Little Lunch Spot It's a nice, clean, brightly-lit QSR place perfect for a quick work lunch. They bake their focaccia in-house. When we went they were out of a lot of stuff but the cashier very nicely substituted our items without any fuss. A nice touch. I got the salmon bowl. Not too heavy, perfect for a quick bite. I'll have to try the tofu Banh Mi next time! read more

Solid lunch spot in Redondo Beach. Indoor and outdoor seating (umbrellas outside), easy parking, and you can order at one of two big tablets or just talk to someone at the counter if you prefer. I had the Cobb Salad + added chicken: The dressing was really good, lettuce was fresh. Portion looks small but with the chicken add-on it was plenty to get me through lunch. Picky eater? Lots of modification options... I pulled tomatoes off my salad without any issue. They have a rewards program where you earn points and get a free cookie. I didn't sign up this time but I will next visit! Parking: Tons of it. read more

This place just opened in this strip plaza and it's the perfect lunch spot. The bbq chicken slaw sandwich I had was so tasty and the blue cheese dressing I put on my side salad was AMAZING. The lemonade was super refreshing as well. Reasonable prices - $18 for everything. I love the patio. There's plenty of shade options as well as in the beautiful Southern California sun. Everybody was very friendly and after ordering at the counter, it was delivered to my table. My new favorite lunch spot! read more

Urbane cafe offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and bowls. It's located in the Whole Foods plaza in redondo beach, opposite of the Michaels in the plaza. I ordered the salmon bowl. Overall the food tasted very healthy however a bit more on the bland side. The roasted sweet potatoes in the bowl were very good. I'm not sure if it is the norm but the focaccia bread was very dry. There are kiosks and also someone to take your order as well. The service was great and food came out quickly. There are 3 tables indoors with mostly outdoor patio seating. Definitely recommend getting the chocolate chip cookie at the end of your meal since they are served warm! Tasted like the perfect home made cookie, slightly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. They also have an app where you can collect points and redeem rewards. I might try one of the salads next time! read more

My family and friends came today for lunch! We really enjoy their sandwiches, salads, and chocolate chip cookies. They have a variety of options to choose from. They even have vegetarian options and gluten option available as well. They make their own bread and cookies! I really like the salads come with a lot of toppings. The bread always tastes fresh. I'm not sure if they sell the mini chocolate chip cookies but the mini chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. When I had the cookies they were warm and crispy. Urbane Cafe has a few locations! I have been to the San Pedro location and glad they opened one here in Redondo too! -They have plenty of parking spots available -They have indoor and outdoor seating read more

Found this place while scouting for new places to eat that wasn't fried food. Urbane seems to be a newer restaurant in the South Bay so I wanted to try it out. I ordered the cranberry Brie sandwich with the side salad which was pretty decent. The best part was their cookies. I got the chocolate chip and it was nice and chewy. The staff are pretty nice and even gave out samples of the cookies. I look forward to trying out their other sandwiches! read more

They serve a variety of bowls, salads, and sandwiches in a fast casual style. I got the sweet chili crunch tofu sandwich and it came with a side salad. Delicious and healthy. The restaurant is in a large plaza with plenty of parking. read more

As a previous Ventura resident, I love seeing urbane expanding. This location is no different. Fresh bread, quality food, great vibe and an awesome patio for nice days. The ordering is all on kiosk so no tip needed which is great and a sandwich with the side salad was $15. Great deal for such fresh food and great ingredients. I had the chimichurri steak sandwich today and was impressed. Food came out in about 5 minutes. Will be a staple location for me whenever I'm around town. read more

Very Healthy would be my overall description. I had a sandwich and it was very good. Craft soda on tap along with Coke/Diet Coke. Counter service and very basic ambience. Tables outside are more comfortable imo. Enjoy read more

I'm happy to share that I've had several good follow up experiences at this cafe. I now love the Chicken "Café" Salad--it's my new go-to order. It comes with plenty of avocado slices and is often enough for two meals. The staff have been wonderfully friendly (I'll make sure to catch names next time). I truly appreciate this place. Neighbors, let's support it and ensure it continues to thrive here! read more

I love Urbane Cafe, so was very excited to have one open up closer to home! This location, despite being new, could use some attention though. I have come 3 times and each time, all the tables have been filthy, so it's not the most pleasant experience. The food is already great. Go-tos are the So Cal and Santa Maria BBQ sandwich. I do notice that this location skimps a bit, both with the amount of meat on the sandwich and the salad portion compared to other locations (namely, Long Beach and San Pedro/Palos Verdes). read more

Salads were awesome. Definitely worth trying. Going for sandwiches next. good for lunch and an early dinner. Great area close to beach. read more

I love Urbane Cafe, which is exactly why today's visit caught me off guard. It seems like they had a rough Friday lunch rush except there weren't as many as usual-- we waited about 20 minutes for our food, and when it arrived the portions were smaller than what we're used to, dressing was separated, and greens were wilting. It looked like a mostly new team was running things: the register staff wasn't familiar with the rewards app yet, and the kitchen printer had run out of paper, which backed up the whole line even though they have their own order screen. The manager wasn't on-site, so the clerk didn't have much to offer beyond the explanation that he didn't know. I get that everyone has to learn sometime, and training days happen -- but a packed Friday lunch felt like a tough time for it. A quick apology or a small gesture (a cookie, a drink) would've gone a long way while things got sorted out. Hoping this was just an off day, since I know they're normally great and checking on their customers. read more

Pleasantly surprised to find this new spot in this shopping center. Several options of soups, salads, bowls and sandwiches. My pesto chicken sandwich was really good, I also got enchilada soup which was tasty but a tad salty for my taste. The service was very friendly. The space was nice, bright and inviting. This is a great option in the area if you're looking for some fast casual eats that are on the healthier side. read more

We came to Urbane Cafe in Redondo Beach for the first time, and it was so good! Not only was the food amazing, but Johanna was incredibly attentive and genuinely kind. She gave us great recommendations and checked in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the Baja Bowl and the Santa Maria BBQ Sandwich, and both were delicious. We can't wait to come back! read more

Very welcoming people work here, good start. I received a mailer voucher, for a buy one get one free entre and it was a very good deal! The chimichurri Steak sandwich was great! The med salad was also tasty but I recommend adding chicken. Other than that the bread would have been a little nicer better toasted but I enjoyed this visit. read more

Pleasant food. It's very busy but there isn't too much of a wait because the service is quite good. The ambience here is that a Whole-Foods-anchored strip mall in a beach town. Lots of flip-flops, shorts and tees. Suitable for people with food restrictions of various types. read more

I ordered The Californian to go. When I got home 10 minutes later, the bottom of the focaccia was soaked from the wettish ingredients. I tried to take a few bites but the sandwich insides sluiced out. It was a mess. It also did not have any avocado or sun-dried tomatoes added to it. Disappointed. read more

We got a mailer with 3 coupons for buy one get one free and a free lemonade and cookie. We used 2 coupons and ordered the chocolate chip cookie, lemonade, Baja bowl and Cobb salad. It was $13.99 with my BOGO coupon and free lemonade and cookie. The free focaccia bread was thick and dry. The bowl was pretty good flavors but it was really small like smaller than sweet green. A really flat paper bowl. The chicken is really thinly sliced and very little. The salad was a ton of greens and then a small portion of half an avocado, some bacon bits, some tomatoes and dressing on the side. It felt like mostly lettuce. The dressing wasn't anything special. The cookie was good. The lemonade was normal. The place is clean and there is a lot of patio seating. They served the food to our table and it was timely. I'll have to try some other things on the menu as I have one more buy one get one coupon. I prefer chicken maison salads and sweet green bowls for the comparable prices. read more

Would Not Recommend! This place is mediocre at best. Absolutely nothing special regarding the bowls. Do yourself a favor and avoid the ahi bowl. They advertise it as sushi grade but it's not even close. Lots of fat and grisle.. Half of it was inedible. Reached out to corporate with no response so far. read more

I was excited to see a new place open in the Whole Foods shopping center! I stopped in today to try their focaccia bread sandwiches. The menu has sandwiches, salads, bowls, soup, and looked pretty good. I ordered the California sandwich just because I really wanted to try the bread and they said it was very popular. Well, it was just MEH and all the ingredients were sliding out of the sandwich as I tried to eat and it was a bit of a mess....I was a bit disappointed to say the least and to spend my $13 as I'm on a fixed retired budget. The staff was really friendly and helpful, but I don't think I'll go back. read more

We were there at about 3 PM on Sunday 8th of March. The business is new but this when you need to make a good impression. They didn't make a good one for me. First we walked in and there was a woman in front of us. We didn't want to use the tablet, I prefer to deal with a human. It took a couple of minutes for the person in front of us to finish the transaction. The associate behind the counter walked away without a work and went on to prepare food. We were clearly in line needing to order our food. We were invisible for about two minutes, then another associate came and took our order. We ordered a sandwich and a salad. They gave us a number. We sat down and waited, and waited. It took almost 25 minutes to get our food. There were only to associates working. And they were working hard. They were overwhelmed. We spend about $30 for our food, which isn't exactly cheap, but the food was just OK. Not bad , but no reason to come back for. The portion size is on the smaller size. So if for a salad and a sandwich I need to wait for 25 minutes and the food is nothing special, why would I come back? So if you open a new business staff it properly. You saved yourself a salary or two , but you will lose customers. If I had come on a weekday for lunch, from work, I would spend most of my lunch waiting for food. It's not the fault of the two people working that day, it's management fault. I was disappointed and won't be returning. And if this continues ,neither will other people and in 6-12 months a new business will be in your place read more

The food was delicious and priced right! Inside is small but there is a nice outdoor patio. Everyone there were friendly and happy to serve. I will go back. read more

I hadn't been to one since I left Ventura county years ago. We would always go to the Agoura Hills location. The good: the pesto chicken sandwich tastes like it always has. They now have gluten free bread so my girlfriend can enjoy it. However, they significantly cut the salad portions down in size, from what they used to serve. I was still hungry. It's definitely not a "dinner" meal, only really acceptable for "lunch .". I'd rather they have raised the price more and kept the same portions. I mean, it used to be 7.95 now is 12.95, but don't trim the portions down significantly in size. The salad was a few bites and the chicken was razor thin. Not sure if I will frequent it often due to the new portion sizes. read more

Quick online orde and picked up about within 10min. Wasn't as expected but was okay for a quick lunch. Portion wasn't enough. Taste was okay. read more

Great food and value. Love that there are more locations opening up. The food is tasty and there is something for everyone.

Food was very good. Pricing high and wait to receive order was very long. I will be back.

Food was very good but portions a bit on the small side for the price. Service and staff seemed overwhelmed. I called to place an order and the person said it would be a quick moment but I was on hold for 3 mins so I hung up. I was driving so I pulled off the road and placed an on line order. Place was busy when I picked up and you could see staff was struggling with volume of people in restaurant and on line orders. I'll eat there again but will wait a while until they have more run time. read more

The staff was very pleasant. Tried their sandwiches as the result of a two-for-one coupon. For me, the sandwiches were a bit too gooey with too much going on and quality of the meats was not quite there. Having said that, there were plenty of customers so I guess I'm in the minority. The cookie was OK, needed more chips. read more

I love the idea of this place. The main courses feel healthy! Cookies are delicious! Unfortunately, the presentation and portion sizes are lacking on the salads and bowls. First the portions are not dinner sized. The bowl is only about half full to the top......even just adding extra lettuce for salads or extra rice for bowls would help. Very small amounts of thin chicken. Also, maybe because the bowls are not full, the presentation just looks thrown together and sad. The flavors are good and we have had only one mistake on an order and we've eaten here 4 times. I'll keep coming back but I wish the portions were quite a big larger on salads and bowls. read more

I've been waiting for Urbane to open in the South Bay and this store does not disappoint! Definitely smaller than the other location I'd been to but the food is still delicious with the same broad menu of sandwiches and great soups as I'd had before. The staff has also been friendly every time we've gone. A great addition for healthy quick service dining in the area. read more

Very good. A little expensive but quality sandwiches. Staff is kids so you know how that is...

Walked in and was greeted by all of the employees all at once! Wow, what a surprise that made me laugh inside. They didn't seem fake or forced; they all seemed happy and having fun at their jobs. The employees were very customer service oriented. There was great variety on the menu. Salads, bowls, and sandwiches on delicious focaccia bread. Each menu item had a theme. I got the So Cal sandwich on gluten free bread. Incredible gluten free focaccia ! Fluffy, tasty, and not dry. You can't tell there's anything different about it being gluten free. It was so good that I'm still to this day wondering if they really gave me the gluten free version of their bread.
