I got to try a free sample of their broccoli cheddar and their chicken tortilla soups! SO FREAKIN GOOD!!! The customer service from Emily was above and beyond! I love Simply Salad! I order for lunch at work and at home. I recently tried the Downtown Cobb and it was really good with the ranch dressing. My usual go to's are the Miso Hungry and Thai it up! I just bought my husband a the Hipster and he said it was delicious! I will say I've always order through DoorDash but when I do receive my food, everything I'll need is in the bag! Ever since the pandemic-assisted implosion of Souplantation, there haven't been many (places outside of maybe Sizzler) to get super custom salads (with a ton of options). This is a fast-casual eatery and it's not at all like Souplantation (it's not AYCE, and they control portions of the ingredients). However, the salad was fresh and tasty. This is an order at the counter and they call your name when the salad is done. They have a handful of tables inside and a few outside. This place could not handle a large crowd. Its design is simple. They have the best of the 80s and 90s playing in the background. You can see the ingredients behind the glass. It's tucked behind the In-n-Out so you may not see it from the street. The base salads are $9.25. You can pick the salad greens, 5 toppings and a dressing. If you want more than 5 toppings, they charge extra. If you want cheese or protein, it's extra. If you want premium toppings like nuts or asparagus, it's extra. The service was friendly. They do greet people when they walk in but it's somewhat lacking enthusiasm except for the person who seems to be the owner or manager. I will say the employees seem inefficient. 1) My salad was sitting there while a guy was struggling to work a stapler and there were others behind the counter doing nothing. 2) I had a chance to observe the meal delivery people pick up bag after bag and it was more like the counter person just flipped over bags and that was it. No smile. 3. They don't seem to wipe down tables that often. I just wanted water with my food and they provide water cups but are so small, I thought my dental hygienist was going to come around the corner and ask me to swish and spit. I had to get 5 times to refill a cup. Sort've annoying. Bottom line, would I go back? Yes. I plan on bringing my Mrs. Yelp here. I feel full. The ingredients were fresh. I felt I had a healthy salad. I could see bringing my Yelp, Jr's here knowing that I could always walk 50 feet to get them a burger from In-n-Out or fried chicken from Jollibee or a rice bowl from Flame Broiler if they balked at the idea of eating a salad. Walked in with my fiance without any greeting. I ordered El Paso salad and Cob salad wrap with extra egg and bacon. We took it to go just to find a bug in the El Paso salad after eating half of it. We called the place to let them know. When they picked up I asked for a manager. I explained what I had found, the lady seemed to be giving excuses. She said and I am paraphrasing, "that happens sometimes... there can be bugs in the lettuce because it comes fresh from a farm... it just depends on how well the lettuce is spun." I was really thrown by this, being her first response to me saying there was bug in the food. I was expecting an apology and to hear that they would look into it. She said she'd let the manager know which is weird because I asked for a manager or supervisor in the first place. Really really gross and the way they handled that ensures that we will definitely not be eating at any simply salad restaurant. For all I know I ate some bugs as did my fiance. Have had this place a couple times and it's not bad. I'm not a big fan of salad and usually just have it as a side. My wife enjoys it though so sometimes we get some to appease her. I've had a wrap and a bowl. I usually customize it. I've had their chicken and tofu. Far east dressing and Italian are my go tos. It's good if you like a cold meal that requires a lot of chewing but just not for me. It's a smaller, order at the counter type place located in a larger shopping center with plenty of parking around. Some seating inside. Staff is really kind and helpful. Going her today, Sunday afternoon, was an unexpected surprise. I rarely go to "salad restaurants" and now I know what I've been missing. The interior was upscale and super clean. The staff were super friendly and ready to please. I had the Seared Shogun salad and my guest the Chinatown salad. The portions were huuuuge and at first I waste I couldn't finish an entire bowl. But it was so good, the Far East & Asian Soy Mix dressing was perfect and the ahi tuna was very tasty. The bites of avocado aded to the richness of the salad which was, frankly, an entire meal. Both of our meals were presented so well that, even before the first bite, I know we were in a class place. I think I'll make this place a regulars for lunch since I work nearby. While waiting, I saw a female employee bagging orders and offering bags to other customers. But when my order was ready and I asked for a bag, she pointed and said, "They're over there," instead of assisting me like she did with others. If an animal has the appropriate documentation and is wearing valid service animal notifications than you ca not deny someone be allowed to enter your establishment. The manager or woman who stated she was the manager needs to be better trained to know these facts . I was denied entry and told to leave.
