When I first heard we were going to Bamboo Thai Bistro, my first thought was what's that lol but became quickly recognizable when we sat down. We ordered Kung pao spaghetti, seafood lemongrass soup, chicken yellow curry, mango with sticky rice, and eggplant with tofu in spicy sauce. EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB: the saucy-ness, the flavor and seasoning, and the quantity. My bf lives in Huntington Park but is willing to drive over just to eat. Price (5/5): For everything we ordered was $175 but we ordered an additional two dishes to go, with three drinks. SO WORTH IT. Solid Thai food! Service was friendly, the dining room was above average for Thai restaurants (none in the south bay have great ambiance or bathrooms for that matter.) Pricing was normal $16-18 for simple dishes. It was our first try today 4/25/26 and this is our new go to Thai place. Plenty of free parking too. The red curry was delish! I found the pad thai too sweet (it is almost always here in the US.) Less corn syrup please..... Overall good, can't wait to try more. read more

This is the perfect lunch spot for employees of businesses in the area. They are fast and accommodating, not to mention reasonably priced and it seems they cater to those of us with a limited amount of time for lunch. There's plenty of parking on their lot and street parking out front. You have your tables and chairs that you can setup as necessary to meet the size of your group. The staff is always friendly and remembers to refresh us on the levels of the spice. The food comes out fast and flavorful. It's also portioned pretty well. read more

The chicken in the dish was perfectly cooked and the peppers and onions were the best compliment. The curry fries, the curry fries. Me amo. I get the yellow curry and it has a little heat to it. I ordered drunken noodles, but before I even started eating, I found a long piece of hair in the dish. I informed the waitress and asked to replace it with a beef salad instead. She tried to convince me to reorder the same dish, but I refused--and she clearly wasn't happy about it. The beef salad was awful--it tasted old, and the meat was overcooked. Later that evening I had serious digestive issues that lasted for over a day! Absolutely horrible experience and clearly not fresh food. I will never go back. read more

Such a great neighborhood Thai spot! Moved to the South Bay about a year ago and it was the first place someone recommended. This Sunday evening was the busiest we've seen the restaurant, and yet our food was absolute PERFECTION. Ordered takeout over the phone, we were told 25-30 minutes, and it was hot and ready at exactly 25 minutes. Super fast and friendly service. The portion sizes are great. My boyfriend and I usually get away with one noodle dish, one curry, and a side of white rice but we wanted an extra noodle for leftovers the next day. Chicken is our favorite, they don't skimp on the protein here. Also the beef was so thin and tender, not chewy at all. I was really pleased with this stop. I can't remember the name of the dish that I had but I had some thicker rice noodles in a soy-based gravy with broccoli and chicken. I'd never heard of it before but it sounded quite good, and it totally was. I came in with a party of four and our food came out within ten minutes of ordering and it was HOT. I've been a customer off and on for many years now. They got rid of their "happy hour" menu after the dreaded "C-virus". The Thai food is tasty, albeit a bit pricey. Bistro-style restaurant that's nice to bring a date. Nice ambiance, but a bit loud with conversations. The service is very good, and attentive. Like I said, food is good and tasty., though their Thai Iced Tea is very watered down or maybe they use a non-dairy creamer now. It's very blah, yet too sweet. Went here for Lunch with some co workers. We ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the spicy eggplant dish. Received it and it was fresh and delicious! Our party had about 15 people and it took about 24 minutes for everyone to receive their meals. I do recommend this place. I give this place 2 stars only because the waitress that was taking our orders was a bit rude and aggressive when handing out our plates. Other then that, it was delicous! read more

I came to a barber shop aside the Bamboo Thai Bistro to trim my beard and was a little late for lunch so after the barber I decided to eat something, so entered this whole in the wall without expecting... flavor!! I loved the flavor but also the presentation of my lunch... I include a photo of my plate. My favorite is the green curry with white rice and I've heard others say how great the spicy fried rice is and the Szechuan chicken. I got the garlic fried rice and chicken pad see ewe medium spicy. The garlic fried rice was delicious! It is literally just garlic and rice. I would recommend. The chicken pad see ewe medium spicy was also pretty good the only thing is that I wish they used Chinese broccoli instead or regular broccoli. I think it would go better but that's just me. This is my new favorite thai restaurant! The drunken noodles are so good and taste very fresh. I've tried their papaya salad and seafood soup as well. My manager invited me out for lunch here at Bamboo Thai Bistro. We arrived promptly at opening time. There were three other parties in the restaurant which goes to show that this is a pretty popular spot. The waitress was polite and swift in everything she did--from seating us, taking orders, bringing out, food and taking away plates. She was mindful and efficient. The restaurant was quaint in design and looked to be clean. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai which I found to be good--a bit too sweet for my taste. However, they gave us some chili oil and jalapeño in vinegar which gave me that sweet and sour flavor I crave. My manager ordered the Seafood Lemongrass Soup which had a lovely sour broth packed with seafood. It wasn't the best restaurant, but it was acceptable for lunch. Maybe their curries are better? It's a hole in the wall, but the lunch specials are a good value and the food is pretty good (except the Larb-- it's the only thing I've had there that I really didn't like and found to be much better at other Thai restaurants). Service is routinely very good as well. There is free parking on the east side of the building off of Artesia as well as street parking in front (free, but limited). They do a lot of take-out, but have a small dining room. Nothing pretentious about this place. No frills. They're there to serve up Thai food and they do it pretty well. read more

My wife and I get takeout from here fairly regularly, and I occasionally eat in their restaurant as it is near my office. The food and service is good here. Only downside is that it seems a bit expensive, but then again generally speaking eating out is expensive these days for sure! read more

It's been a long time since I dined here after they got a 'B' years ago from the health dept. and the food quality went down about the same time. But this week I came back and they are back to 'A'! And my usual spicy eggplant with chicken and brown rice was over the top excellent! My nephew got the fish cakes and said they were too rubbery--mediocre but he liked his sautéed shrimp dish. I tied 1 fish cake and it was okay but not something that I would order on my own--I don't need it. Folks when you are dining out these days with short staff and supply shortages--KISS--you know what that means? Keep It Simple... don't be a outlier or pioneer--order the traditional meals like the Eggplant or Drunken Noodles or Pad Thai. Just because something is on the menu does not mean it tastes good. Our server took our order efficiently but then remembered things and didn't. Then had a semi-tone when requesting for other things. Also had a semi tone when checking out for the bill and took away things that were still being packaged. Completely understand near end of night but please do not yell and appear frustrated when we waited a period of time before reaching out. Also ignoring your customers to chit chat with one another is not ideal. Would return to try other things as the food was tasty and hopefully the service will be a bit different. read more

Nifty little neighborhood Thai food spot that does a bang-up job with both dine in and take out. Tom kha with coconut, 'shrooms and shrimp was hot and slurpy delicious and the chicken satay with super yummy peanut sauce was tasty as an appetizer. Massaman and Red curries were yummy tonight - chowed down with a side of steamed rice. Plenty of soup and red curry leftovers for a decent lunch. We washed it all down with a bottle of Chardonnay. A menu full of options, something for everyone. Super friendly and swift service tonight too! A couple walked in with a dog when the host attempted to declare that dogs aren't allowed indoors - to which one of them replied "he's okay he has a badge" as he pointed to some sort of official unofficial laminated leash badge. I didnt see any evidence that the pet was an AKC certified service dog then again AKC doesn't require any type of ID on the pet so it is what it is. The restaurant was accommodating and allowed the pet. Coincidentally the pet and the couple sat next to us which wasn't horrible, but I couldn't help but overhear their requests for non-menu items at least twice and both times the server obliged and with a smile. The "inch and mile" Proverb ringing true tonight for sure. Accommodating and with a smile? That says a lot about an establishment - class act in my book. read more

This review is solely based on my dish choice--service was great (ordered via DoorDash & all instructions were followed)! I gave this restaurant a try as my go-to Thai place was closed today. My typical order is the Tom yum soup with a side of sticky rice. The sticky rice was great (as you would imagine sticky rice to be). The chief complaint is the soup. The Tom yum soup did not taste like any Tom yum I've had. I was trying to figure out what the flavor was--kind of flavorless and sweet vs sour... the soup tasted like heavy basil. I have never had basil in my Tom yum before & found a huge sprig in my little container. Unfortunately I hate basil so I did not enjoy this selection. It was also on the pricier side $15 for a tiny container of soup. I cannot attest to other dishes but may have to try something else here. read more

Average Thai Food at Above Average Prices We came here for dinner and it was just OK. We were seated immediately and the waiter was very friendly. We ordered our typical dishes including papaya salad, pad thai noodles with shrimp, pineapple curry, and mango sticky rice. The papaya salad was made with too much fish sauce and was just ok. The pad thai was lackluster with minimal bean sprouts. The pineapple fried rice was OK however there were huge chunks of uncut pineapple which would have been better if diced. The mango sticky rice was good. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant is quite dated. There are lots of scuff marks on the walls. There were 3 large flies buzzing around and sitting in the windows which I think is really unacceptable. Food: 3 stars. -- It's average Thai food at above average prices. The pad Thai was $18 which is definitely on the high side. Service: 3.5 stars -- prompt and friendly Ambiance: 2.5 stars -- dated restaurant, plastic plates, flies buzzing on tables and windows Would it eat here again? Probably not. This place has ample parking and in a good beach area. We were immediately greeted when we arrived and seated near the entrance. We ordered pork spare ribs, kung pao spaghetti, crab fried rice, fried banana, and drinks. The food was good but we had to send back the pork ribs to get warmed because it was cold to the bite. The crab fried rice was delicious and there were actual crab legs in the rice. The place seemed modern with no real Thai decorations. The place was spacious with a good amount of tables and chairs. Overall, the service was quick and accommodating. The restrooms were clean and the entrance inviting. I will return to try many more dishes. read more
