    Chicken Satay

Food has always been cooked an no issues. Until today. Pretty sure I was just eating uncooked chicken. I called to notify, they apologized and offered to replace it. Don't wish to drive out. I'll be back, but more mindful to see if chicken is cooked next time. Bummer.

Came here a few years back and its gone downhill a bit since then. One thing I really enjoy is the atmosphere but thats about it now. The portions are pretty small for what you are paying for. The pad see ew used to be really good but now it lacks flavor. The phanaeng curry wasn't terrible and had a very prominent flavor profile. Service is pretty bad, unfriendly and dont even greet you when you walk in. No wonder this place is empty. Will not be back

    Drunken Noodles with fish
    Marcela F.

I ordered Drunken Noodles with fish. Very dry and the fish is deep fried. And hardly any fish. It was more like a chuck of dough. 27 dollars just for that order. Maybe I'll order something different next time. Service was good and ambiance is good and clean.

This is a great spot to go to! The food, ambiance and service is good, and the prices aren't terrible. I wouldn't say it's anything special, but I haven't explored the entire menu so I could be missing hidden gems! I enjoyed the beef Pad Thai I got, it felt fresh. The wonton soup had a really nice broth, although I found the wontons a little too gingery. It also only had two shrimps, but there was shrimp inside the wonton, so that wasn't a big deal.

    Seafood soup with coconut milk

So the wife and I were hungry (starving) and decided we were in the mood for Thai. We had been here before, and decided we wanted to try the seafood soup but with coconut milk. To start we had the firecracker appetizer which were shrimp wrapped in an egg roll form topped served with a sweet and sour sauce. These were delicious and got our appetites going. To drink we got their delicious Thai iced tea. Usually it's a hit or miss at certain restaurants with these drinks cause they are either too sweet or not prepped correctly. Here they are amazing. The seafood soup was delicious with the coconut milk and we were able to substitute the mussels for extra shrimp. That was a nice detail. Service was good especially knowing it was the waitress' first day on the job and got our order correct. Last we got their pad Thai with beef which was good but my wife said it was a bit saucy but good. Overall a nice experience to eat here on a weekend since it's never too crowded and the wait time is never bad.

Chicken Satay, Tom Kha Soup, Fried Rice.

Tom Kha Soup was excellent! Slightly sweet, but mostly creamy and comforting. I don't know why I waited so long to come back. Chicken Satay is sooooo good!!! The fried rice was a little disappointing, but still solid. I will probably try the garlic rice next time or just stick to the brown rice. I love the attentive service and super tranquil vibe inside! Please visit & keep this gem afloat!

    Orange Chicken

At the end of a strip mall with plenty of parking. There was inside and outside seating. We sat wherever we wanted and our drink orders were taken right away. My wife had orange chicken and it was very good. The star of the night was the asparagus seafood, wow it was good. I've never had an asparagus dish with this much asparagus. The dishes didn't come with rice, but I highly recommend getting some. The sauce in this dish with rice was excellent. You need to try this place!

The noodles are thick, chewy, and clearly made fresh. Broth is clean and dashi-forward. Solid bowl. I also got a spam musubi. It was fine, but the spam-to-rice ratio was not enough in my option. The tempura add-on bar is genuinely a nice touch. Crab meat, cheese, sausage, gyoza, pumpkin, sweet potato, zucchini, potato croquette, chicken katsu, all ranging from about $1.99 to $4.99 per item. Lots of ways to build out your bowl. Service was fast and friendly, Japanese pop in the background, low-key atmosphere. It's a good spot. Not destination dining, but absolutely worth a stop if you're nearby and want something warm and fresh.

Our usual not-so-usual go-to for Chinese in the South Bay had been Seashore at Calle Mayor and PCH but I remembered the food being somewhat bland on the last visit several months back. We have also enjoyed Lunasia (for Dim Sum) and Ruiji farther east on PCH but it has been a long time (at least for Ruiji) and the reviews and pictures for Lotus looked really good. I also liked the All-Day Happy Hour! $3 house wines, beer and hot sake as well as the complimentary (and delicious) garlic noodles with $50 purchase ($11.95 value). We ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons ($10), Spicy Orange Crispy Chicken ($21.95), Kung Pao Chicken ($21.95), Sweet and Sour Pork ($20.95), Beef with Broccoli ($20.95), Mongolian Beef ($21.95) and Crispy Honey Shrimp ($25.95). Yeah, the prices, I know, but again the All-Day Happy Hour and the free noods! The food was a hit...everything was great, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken wasn't spicy so don't worry if that's not your jam...the Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite and the crispy honey shrimp was lightly fried "to perfection". I hate that phrase but it is appropriate here, truly. Service was excellent. The food came out very quickly and our server was fantastic. It was my 87 year old Mom's birthday and they brought out a cheesecake and candle for her too. We did have tons of left-overs so it will go a longer way which helps with the cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND; they've definitely earned the top Chinese spot for me.

Everything from the flavor to the experience just feels a step above. The (always-vegan) broth is rich and well-balanced, and you can really tell the focus is on quality. One thing I really appreciate is how accommodating they are with customizations. I usually ask for my ramen without nori (seaweed) and skip the egg, and they get it right every time. It might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference not having to send anything back. The atmosphere is also a big plus. It's cozy and inviting, perfect for sitting down and enjoying a warm bowl of ramen. The first time we went it was pretty busy, but it still felt comfortable. The second time, we went earlier in the day and it was quieter, which made the experience even better. At this point, anytime I'm craving ramen, this is where we go. As you approach the restaurant you'll find tables outside, inside, and the bar area on the left-hand side. I've tried different items on the menu over the years. From their Spicy Garnet, Quartz, gyoza, sushi, different buns, etc. But the Amber Ramen is spectacular! Rich broth with a deep umami from the shoyu and bonito flake mix. The chashu cuts are seared beautifully. On the topic of pork, the pork belly buns make for a great bite too. I love the sauces they included. My only slight notes are that the ramen is occasionally greasy and the chashu featured is on the thinner side. I'd expect more given the price tag for single bowl. Lastly, their plum wine is definite pleasant surprise. Fragrant, light, and compliments most of their ramen options quite well. I'll have to order a bottle the next time I'm in with friends.

Little Sister excelled at bold tastes and textures through a Vietnamese fusion lens. The papaya salad was bursting with flavor and crunch from the candied shrimp and roasted peanuts. The Shorty offered a mix of umami and sweetness from the braised short rib. The dessert, a Vietnamese coffee custard, was divine. We left feeling stuffed and with leftovers. Their cocktail list is also full of unique selections. I opted for the Kennedy, a vodka-based drink with passion fruit liqueur, pineapple, lime, and egg white. It was very well-balanced while also quite strong. My partner got the XO, Little Sister's version of an old fashioned. The blend of citrus and spices was really pleasant. Parking is generally not too difficult at this location. There are metered spots in an adjacent lot for $2/hr until 9 pm. Would recommend a stop during Dine LA week for the deals and food!
